Robertson is a rising star among the evangelical left. 
He identifies as bisexual.
This is is Brandan Robertson. He is an emerging personality on the religious left. Robertson pastors Missiongathering Christian Church, a San Diego church affiliated with the Disciples of Christ. Robertson graduated from  Moody Bible Institute. He has written in  The Washington Post, Tim Magazine, and The Huffington Post. He also speaks at the Wild Goose Festival, a liberal religious gathering referred to as a “Gay Christian Woodstock,” which we have previously written about here. Most recently, Robertson claimed that polyamorous relationships (having intimate sexual relationships with multiple people, such as in an “open marriage”) is “holy, welcome and celebrated.”

Robertson then posted a video (now deleted) in which he says the following (as transcribed by Juicy Ecumenism, here)…
“For those who are in an open or polyamorous relationship here this morning who might be squirming, because this is an uncomfortable question to hear in church sometimes. I want you to hear me loud and clear as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Your relationships are holy. They are beautiful and they are welcomed and celebrated in this space.”
And:
“We call all of us together to the same set of standards that we call everyone to: to seek to follow Jesus in all of our relationships. To seek to be honest and respectful and self-sacrificial and consensual and loving with your partners. When any of us live into these standards we can be sure we are on the path to wholeness and holiness.”
Robertson is – according to Vice Magazine – one of the “Woke Young Evangelicals Trying to Make Christianity Cool Again.” We compared him and others highlighted by Vice to Russell Moore here.
If that’s what “cool” is, no thanks.

[Huffington Post] Transgender Christian leaders have a message for President Donald Trump’s administration, following reports that it plans to drastically narrow the legal definition of gender.
Even though the administration is moving to stop recognizing the existence of transgender and nonbinary people, there’s nothing it could do that would erase trans people’s inherent worth, the faith leaders told HuffPost.
“No government entity or leader can take or excise or erase the depth of worth that Transgender people are and embody,” the Rev. Dr. Robyn Henderson-Espinoza, a queer Latinx activist and founder of the Activist Theology Project, told HuffPost in an email. “My religious tradition teaches that I am made in the image of God and of sacred worth.”
Progressive activists have responded with anger and protests to news that the Department of Health and Human Services is seeking to establish a legal definition of gender that would roll back advances made by the Obama administration. The proposed definition, first reported by The New York Times, would treat gender as a biological and unchangeable condition assigned at birth.
In effect, the definition would exclude America’s estimated 1.4 million transgender or nonbinary citizens from federal civil rights protections. Disputes over a person’s gender would have to be clarified with genetic testing, the Times reported.
The government’s proposed definition would realign its understanding of gender with the theology of conservative evangelical Christians, who have long been some of Trump’s staunchest supporters.

The Rev. M Barclay was the first openly nonbinary person to become a deacon in the United Methodist Church.
The Rev. M Barclay, director of the Christian ministry enfleshed, said they are deeply troubled about the proposal ― but not especially surprised, given the administration’s previous discriminatory actions toward the trans community.
Not only does the proposed definition threaten to snatch away trans Americans’ access to crucial resources and rights, these political moves against the community also leave deep emotional wounds, Barclay, who is based in Iowa and uses gender-neutral pronouns, told HuffPost.
“The spiritual trauma of being perpetually told who we are isn’t real, that others shouldn’t believe us or support us, and that our well-being isn’t of collective significance is doing so much damage,” they said.

”Fatah, the largest faction of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, has announced the publication of four new booklets for children in which notorious terrorists and their actions are glorified, according to a recent news report by the Middle East Media Research Institute,” reports WashExaminer.
“One of the booklets is dedicated to Abu Jihad, Yasser Arafat’s deputy and PLO co-founder, who helped plan and execute the murder of 125 Israelis, and another to Dalal Al-Mughrabi, the female Fatah terrorist who led the deadliest terrorist attack in Israel’s history, in which more than three dozen Israeli civilians, one-third of them children, were killed on a hijacked bus in 1978…
“This initiative, the first of its kind, uses stories to document the history of the Palestinian people and of the Fatah movement, the largest faction in the PLO,” said a spokesman.
“The new textbooks examined in this report indoctrinate for death and martyrdom. Jews and Israelis are portrayed as quintessentially evil, amid calls for jihad and martyrdom by Palestinian children. …
“The image of a girl with a long dagger is a disturbing reminder of the 2015-16 Knife Intifada, when children were encouraged to use knives and scissors to attack Israelis. … Anti-Semitism is more prevalent than before [in the new textbooks]. … Israel and the Jews are referred to as ‘enemies of Islam,’ and are blamed for poisoning the Prophet Muhammad. … Encouraging girls and boys to sacrifice their lives in the name of religion appears to be a central goal of this curriculum. ”
[Dr. Chaps’ comment:  This is why President Trump reportedly wants to defund UNWRA, the UN agency funding Palestinian schools, whose textbooks teach terrorism with US taxpayer dollars.  We have got to stand up for Israel and insist on peace in Palestine.]
Trump stops funding Anti-Jewish U.N. Muslim Schools
” The Trump administration has moved to stop all funding for UNRWA, the UN agency that provides aid [and anti-Israel propaganda] for Palestinian refugees. The decision goes to the core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” reports CBN News.
“The decision to cut off all US funding to the agency has set off a chain reaction in the region.  Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat announced a plan to remove UNRWA from the city.
” Protests popped up in Jordan and the Gaza Strip. Palestinian Authority leaders condemned the action, calling it a ‘path to destruction.’
“What is the American administration doing? They are preempting, prejudging issues reserved for permanent status. They are undermining the moderate forces in Palestine and Israel,” said PLO executive committee secretary general Saeb Erekat. “Those elements that want to achieve peace peacefully, based on a two-state solution, are being destroyed.”
“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu applauded the decision.
“The United States has made a very important thing, stopping the funds for the agency perpetuating refugees, called UNRWA. The US is finally beginning to solve the problem.”
“So, I think President Trump is touching on the core issue,” Schwartz said. “The core issue is not how large Israel will be or how much territory it will cede. But the question is if Israel will stay. Israel obviously wants to stay, but the Palestinians unfortunately do not accept us yet.”
[Dr. Chaps’ comment:   We must oppose UNWRA funding of anti-Jewish propaganda in Muslim schools, and we oppose dividing Jerusalem or seizing other Israeli land for Muslims, period.]

DELAWARE: THE LATE TERM ABORTION STATE?

Your vote on NOV 6th says "I am NOT ok being represented by someone who condones or justifies the barbaric practice of fetal dismemberment up to and including the 9th month of pregnancy."
Delaware's abortion law, as of June 2017, re-defines "viability" to make the legal status of abortion virtually open-ended until late in the third trimester. 

During the committee hearing on this legislation (SS1 to SB5), the leading abortionist for Delaware said that a “fetus” could be 9 months and still not be "viable."

Exactly! That's the problem! 

This law allows abortion of an infant who is considered not "viable" by the abortion doctor. "Viable" is defined as unable to live outside the womb without the application of "extraordinary medical measures." That phrase "extraordinary medical measures" is undefined in the law. 

A baby who needs help breathing in the last stages of pregnancy could be considered "not viable" due to needing "extraordinary medical measures" and therefore aborted.  

Thus, this law, passed in 2017, would allow abortions in Delaware well into the late-term stages, creating a legal climate in which very late abortion is protected and inviting to late-term abortionists to set up shop here." (Steven Aden, Constitutional Law Attorney)

Good Legislators offered reasonable amendments when this law was being debated; such as, amendments to reinstate informed consent requirements for abortion patients that have been upheld by the Supreme Court in cases like Planned Parenthood v. Casey, an amendment to anesthetize babies after 22 weeks before a violent death by dismemberment abortion, and amendments to urge the state to define a gestational age of viability. 

All clarifying amendments were rejected by Democrats Legislators.
To Be Clear, This Is The Kind Of Abortion Allowed In Delaware: 
If you are not ok with this, VOTE ON NOV. 6TH!  We have an excellent opportunity put men and women in our state legislature who will vote for life, religious liberty, and family first! 

If you are not ok with our state being a late term abortion destination... VOTE on NOV. 6th. 

Stopping this radical agenda depends on you and me and people like us getting to the polls. VOTE ON NOV. 6TH

ANALYSIS/OPINION:
Leftists have been particularly crafty about clamping down and chilling conservative thought lately, boldly going where milder-mannered censors have previously feared to tread and managing to make several righteous-sounding cases, at least among their circles of progressive types, for the booting of deemed hate speakers from social media.
But their censorship argument dangles precariously on the meaningless claim that in America there’s no room for hate speech.
And I say meaningless because first off, nobody can define what constitutes hate speech and second off, even if they could, there are no criminal laws against speaking one’s mind in this country — except in cases of inciting riots or falsely yelling “fire” in a crowded theater, the latter of which is not really speech at all.
Yet the shrill accusations of hate speech continue.
There are political strategies behind all this screeching.

This whole anti-hate speech call has been a tremendous boon for the left’s successes in shuttering conservative rhetoric, whether online, on college campuses or in the media world.
The best lies and deceptions, after all, are the ones that ring of truth.
The truth: In America, morally speaking, philosophically speaking, sensibly speaking — of course there’s no room in America for hate speech. Only a radical nut would see or say otherwise. But speaking of morality is not the same as speaking of legality. Morally speaking, no citizen should spew vicious, racist, misogynistic, ugly, hateful words. Legally? For the most part, have at it. 
Also the truth: The First Amendment was penned in part to protect primarily political speech — to preserve as a God-given right the ability of citizens to say as they will, to petition as they want, to seek redress for grievances as they ought. Some of these pursuits can get pretty rancorous.
Sometimes, people get offended.
The Founders knew that. That’s the beauty of the First Amendment — to protect those who would offend.
But the left, unable to withstand fact-based scrutiny of its ridiculously anti-American progressive policies, and unable to legislatively advance anti-American progressive policies without the wings of emotionally charged discourse, has been trying to circumvent the spirit of free speech for some time. Why? To shut down the fact-finders and truth-tellers.
The left would like nothing more than to see hate speech etched into law as a punishable offense because that would make the job of censoring conservative thought and statements so much the easier.
The First Amendment and America’s long and cherished history of allowing for the lively exchange of ideas gets in the way of this goal, however. So the desperate left has advanced a public relations campaign that sees hate speech being talked about with rising frequency — as if it’s a thing.
As if it’s an American concept.
As if it’s a real crime, like stealing somebody’s car or punching somebody in the face in a bar.
The left’s hope is to talk it up enough so it doesn’t sound odd or out of place — so people stop wondering every time they hear it, “what? What is that?”
Then come the actual hate speech laws.
Then go the conservatives, too chilled to speak.
It’s like this: The Ku Klux Klan, the Black Panther Party, Louis Farrakhan, David Duke and a long list of others may all speak in ways that strike a large portion of the public as offensive. But fact is, they pretty much have the legal and natural right to speak as they will. The discomfort of either the few or the many does not justify the stripping of their God-given rights — or of anyone’s God-given right to speak freely. It’s a pretty good system of governance that allows both Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives, haters and do-gooders alike, equality of expression.
Here in America, let’s keep it that way. All discussions of hate speech should include mention of the fact no such laws in this country exist.
