Most people don't realize that there is a well-organized and well-funded lobbying and propaganda effort to keep state legislatures from protecting people from the radical transgender agenda.

The recent battle in Idaho over the new laws protecting people from the radical transgender agenda – signed by the Governor on March 30 – has revealed a frightening list of radical collaborators. Major corporations, education associations, medical associations, and child welfare organizations teamed up with the national LGBT movement and attempted to stop the protections from being passed.

Here are the two bills that are now enacted into Idaho law:
HB 500 says that only females (not males pretending to be females) may compete in girls’ or women’s school and college sports.
HB 509 requires that public documents – such as birth certificates and drivers’ licenses – use a person’s biological sex, rather than the person’s contrived “gender identity.”
These would appear to be simply common sense – but they infuriated the national LGBT movement.

Most people know that the country’s major corporations support (and fund) the most radical anti-family and anti-religious social movements. But people have been largely unaware that many so-called “trusted” education, medical, and social welfare organizations have completely bought into the destructive quackery of the LGBT movement – and are actively working against the well-being of parents, families, and children.

Keep in mind: All of this opposition arose over a few reasonable bills in Idaho!

 Here's what these corporations and groups are promoting as normal. This is a boy with eye makeup and lipstick, claiming to be a girl. From a video for children on "correct" transgender pronoun use.

On March 27, 40 corporations signed a letter that was delivered to the Idaho legislature. The letter was full of absurdities, such as:

These bills were “targeting transgender youth” and “put the authority of state government behind discrimination and promotes mistreatment of a targeted LBGTQ population.”
These bills “directly affect our businesses” and will “have a negative effect on our employees, our customers, our competitiveness, and state and national economies​.”
These bills "would harm our team members and their families, stripping them of opportunities and making them feel unwelcome and at risk in their own communities.”
In a particularly Orwellian statement, they said that these bills are bad because “Fairness, equal treatment, and opportunity are central to our corporate values.”


Luckily, the Idaho Legislature and Governor ignored that nonsense. But you should know which major American corporations wholeheartedly support that lunatic ideology. These are the corporations that signed the letter:

Make no mistake: These companies (and most of corporate America) are not just anti-family and anti-Christian – but radically and aggressively so. Their top management has fully embraced irrational "gender" ideology.

Major education, medical, and social welfare organizations

Most parents have trusted their children’s school teachers, principals, counselors, psychologists, and others to have a grounding of normalcy, goodwill, and common sense. Unfortunately, in recent years this has changed dramatically. An overwhelming number of these people, as reflected by the bizarre positions of their professional organizations, have embraced the radical LGBT agenda – even regarding “transgenderism.”

On March 19, 2020, the following organizations signed a letter that was delivered to the Idaho Legislature and Governor. The letter included the standard LGBT false and misleading talking points about “transgender” youth, such as:


Transgender youth are already at a heightened risk for violence, bullying, and harassment. In addition, students who would be affected by these bills are among our most vulnerable to experiencing depression and engaging in self-harm, including suicide. These bills exacerbate those risks by creating an unwelcoming and hostile environment in places where students should feel the safest and most supported.​


In fact, the opposite is true. So-called transgender youth will do much better when people do NOT pander to their delusions, but tell them the truth and give them proper therapy.

It’s certainly frightening to realize that these organizations are promoting such a destructive and radical agenda – that often includes horrible “medical” treatments, both hormones and surgeries, that can sterilize and permanently disfigure a youth – instead of telling the truth and promoting healthy lives.

Interestingly, it took this bold action by a state legislature – and MassResistance research – to bring this out of the shadows.

Who are Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Heroes? Based on the $3 trillion HEROES Act that House Democrats have just unveiled, the answer is illegal aliens and criminals.

While the HEROES Act pretends to be about coronavirus relief, its focus is on immigration.

With over 20 million jobs lost in April, the HEROES Act goes to great lengths to make sure that millions of illegal aliens will still be able to keep their jobs, no matter how many Americans lose theirs.

Buried under the misleadingly titled, "Protections for Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers", is a virtual blank check to keep illegal aliens from being deported. The HEROES Act's definition of "critical infrastructure workers" covers cafeteria workers, warehouse janitors, and pet food delivery boys.

Anyone who works in virtually any field involving food in any way is a "critical infrastructure worker". An illegal alien putting out mouse traps at any facility involving food from "wholesale to retail" is a critical worker. A vast array of call center workers and delivery people are covered. Even laundromat employees are critical infrastructure workers under the federal definition used by the HEROES Act.

The HEROES Act doesn't just protect illegal aliens from deportation, but SEC. 191203 declares that "hiring" illegal aliens is not a violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act and that the aliens are "deemed to be in a period of deferred action and authorized for employment."

Americans seeking jobs as essential workers will be forced to compete with newly legalized illegal aliens.

Even while tens of millions of Americans are out of work, Pelosi and the House Democrats are going to great lengths to protect the ability of employers to illegally hire illegal aliens while authorizing them to accept those jobs. And considering how Federal judges have defended DACA’s deferred action, this temporary deferral could effectively become a permanent amnesty for millions of illegals.

The HEROES Act is really a backdoor amnesty that will declare illegal aliens “heroes” for delivering pizza. And these heroes who delivered pizza and sprayed for roaches in a plant somewhere can’t be deported. Instead, they’re going to be honored and legalized while Americans lose their jobs, savings, and lives.

The HEROES Act may end up killing more Americans of employment age than the coronavirus will.

Pelosi’s boondoggle also extends visas for aliens already in this country, regardless of whether they're "critical" workers or not, and 'rolls over' all the visas that weren't issued during this time. The Democrats are determined not to miss a single chance to bring more of their voters into the United States.

The rollover provisions focus on chain migration via "family-sponsored immigrants", "employment-based immigrants" and "diversity immigrants". All of these are aspects of a broken immigration system.

SEC. 191204 or “Supplementing the COVID Response Workforce” expedites processing applications for aliens who "provide healthcare" within 30 days by email. Visa applications can be bypassed with video-conferencing, and interviews are waived. This could allow for bringing Syrian Islamic “health care workers” to this country with virtually no oversight or screening even though the shortage of personnel that is driving this strategy has never actually come into being and American workers are being furloughed at hospitals and medical centers that were prevented from performing most procedures.

American health care workers furloughed because of the lockdown may end up losing their jobs because the Democrats who praise them as “heroes” insist on bringing in foreign workers to take their place.

And these foreign health care workers are being brought in under the broad umbrella of “preventing COVID-19”. If we didn’t have open borders on the ground and in the air, there wouldn’t have been a Wuhan Virus to prevent. But even while claiming to fight a pandemic caused by a foreign virus, Pelosi and the Democrats want more immigration and more open borders to spread more pandemics.

SEC. 191205 seeks to free illegal aliens already in ICE custody with a review of "the immigration files of all individuals in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to assess the need for continued detention" to free those who are "not subject to mandatory detention laws."

The section also demands that illegal aliens get free video chats, email access, and orders that pro-illegal alien lefty groups be given "broad and flexible access" to illegals.

But the HEROES Act doesn’t just settle for freeing illegal aliens, not when it can also free criminals.

The Dem bill seeks to free "vulnerable and low-risk individuals" in pre-trial detention. The definition of "vulnerable" is any prisoner over who is over 50 or under 18 who has, sickle-cell anemia, or asthma.

And how do Pelosi and her ilk define "low-risk"?

Any criminal who "does not pose a risk of serious, imminent injury to a reasonably identifiable person".

That covers criminals who pose a risk of serious, imminent injury to any random member of the public.

Criminals who pose a risk of serious, but not imminent injury, criminals who pose a risk of imminent, but not serious injury, and criminals who pose a serious, imminent risk of injury to someone who can’t be reasonably identified, could all be considered “low-risk” by the jailbreaking HEROES Act.

Under these parameters, an asthmatic serial killer ought to be considered low-risk because we can’t identify whom he might chop to bits. A paranoid schizophrenic who only seriously assaults people when he goes off his medication could be considered to pose a risk of serious, but not imminent injury.

And, of course, muggers who don’t seriously hurt their victims would be considered low-risk. Ditto for car thieves, burglars, assorted robbers, and any felon who isn’t walking around with a sign reading, “I will kill Andrew next Tuesday”. And even then, we might not be “reasonably” sure which Andrew he means.

These are the heroes of Pelosi’s HEROES Act.

There's also money for "safe and sanitary temporary transitional housing" and facilitating "family reunification" for the released criminals.  And a push for applying "all pre- and post-adjudication release processes and mechanisms applicable to juveniles… as quickly as possible".

That would cover 17-year-old offenders.

Pelosi and her Democrat allies claim to be very concerned about inmates in custody contracting the coronavirus. And yet after months of this, the predicted mass death tolls in prisons haven’t happened. Instead the elderly have been dying in large numbers in nursing homes. If the Democrats were really concerned, they would cut off funding to any municipality arresting people over social distancing.

But the Dems seem happy with a state of affairs in which citizens are arrested and criminals are freed.

The HEROES Act contains plenty that is bad, including a waiver of the Buy American Act that is a free gift to the People’s Republic of China, but its obsession with criminals and illegal aliens, at the expense of Americans, shows who Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats think that they’re really in office to serve.

While Americans are put out of work, the Democrats help illegal aliens hang on to their jobs. And while Americans are locked up for trying to cut hair, go for a walk, or play catch, criminals are set free.

The Democrat coronatopia is a place where criminals are free and everyone else is in prison, and where only government officials and illegal aliens have jobs.

“People are showing up in San Francisco from other places and asking where their hotel room is,” Mayor Breed complained.

“People are coming from all over the place, Sacramento, Lake County, Bakersfield,” Jeanine Nicholson, the first lesbian head of the San Francisco Fire Department, grumbled. “People are getting released from jail in other counties and being told to go to San Francisco, where you will get a tent and then you will get housing.”

The people coming to the City by the Bay weren’t wearing flowers in their hair, they were homeless junkies who had heard that they were going to get free hotel rooms, along with pot and booze.

And it was all true. Every word of it.

San Francisco was spending $200 a night to house the homeless, or as the current politically correct euphemism insisted that they be called, the ‘unhoused’, in hotel rooms at a cost of over $100 million.

The hotel rooms were Plan B after an attempt to house the homeless (or the unhoused) in the Palace of Fine Arts. The degradation of the former imitation Roman bath built for the 1915 Exposition would have been a fitting symbol for the new San Francisco, but homeless advocates thought it wasn’t good enough.

Hotels weren’t exactly enthusiastic about having paranoid schizophrenics urinating in their lobbies. Also, under San Francisco law, staying there for 30 days might give the homeless tenancy rights.

And then good luck evicting them.

Meanwhile the homeless were willing to take the hotel rooms, but they weren’t following the rules.

The whole reason that San Francisco taxpayers were going to be out $200 a night for months was to save each crazed homeless junkie from spreading the coronavirus. But how do you do that when they won’t stop punching each other from less than 6 feet away, and won’t wash their hands before shooting up?

“It’s been very challenging to get even some of the residents who are part of the shelter system and our hotels to comply with the orders, to even wear masks," Mayor London Breed complained. "It’s been so much harder to really care for this population especially when they won’t comply with simple directions or the orders we’re implementing.” She described it as an, “incredible logistical challenge.”

The problem with homeless shelters has always been getting the homeless to stay in them. No matter how comfortable the facilities might be, the inhabitants go off searching for drugs and alcohol which they’re not allowed to have in the shelters, and there goes your whole shelter in place strategy.

But San Francisco is a uniquely creative place and the Health Department decided to convince the homeless to stay in their hotel rooms by delivering booze, pot, and cigarettes as part of room service.

Along with three meals a day.

In San Francisco, you can’t smoke in restaurants or bars (back when they were open), in public parks (when you could visit them), or near open doorways (back when people still left them open), and smoking in hotels was almost impossible, but now San Francisco has thousands of smoking hotel rooms.

All it took was a pandemic and a bunch of characters from a Tom Wolfe novel running the city.

And, best of all, the same Health Department waging a campaign against smoking is providing the tobacco, along with “medical cannabis”, and “medically appropriate amounts of alcohol”.

Don’t worry folks, it’s all medicinal.

The San Francisco Health Department claims that handing out drugs and booze to junkies with coronavirus is actually a "harm reduction practice" that has "significant individual and public health benefits".

That’s a hell of a public health benefit.

Next time someone tries to stop you from lighting up in San Fran, tell them that the Health Department said that it has "significant individual and public health benefits".

"Our behavioral health experts are offering services every day, medication assisted treatment including nicotine and opiate replacement, behavioral health counseling," Dr. Grant Colfax, Obama's former National AIDS Policy Director, gushed, "and in cases where people decide that they are going to continue to use, our focus is using the best evidence to help people manage their addictions." 

Hey, if they’re going to get high, let’s help them “manage their addictions” by giving them the stuff.

Inexplicably, if you open up hotels for junkies and provide them with the stuff, they will come. They’ll come from Sacramento, Lake County, Bakersfield, Stockton, and anyplace that isn’t nice enough to offer drug and alcohol hotel rooms free of charge to anyone with open sores and delusions of grandeur.

"It is a mystery why the homeless are coming to San Francisco," the San Francisco Chronicle wondered.

What’s a mystery is how anyone associated with the paper figures out how to put their pants on, but this correspondent might speculate that it has something to do with the free hotel rooms and booze.

Homeless “structures” have increased 285% and San Francisco can’t figure out where to stick them. And the first lesbian head of the San Francisco Fire Department is stuck with the problem because in that wonderous utopia, the job of the fire department isn’t just putting out fires, but dealing with vagrants.

"Our folks are embedded in their communities and they know who is on the streets,” she said.

The homeless immigrating to San Francisco from less friendly parts of California are even dialing 911 to get a hotel room.

“These people are very honest when you talk with them,” a paramedic quoted by the San Francisco Chronicle said, “They come right out and ask, ‘How do I get a hotel room?’”

Then they start coughing and demand to be taken to their hotel suite.

Mayor Breed has tried telling foreign homeless vagrants to go home and leave San Francisco alone. But how do you keep them down in Stockton once they’ve seen the free hotel rooms and booze in SF?

“The reality is we’ve got to focus our limited resources on reaching the people who have been here on our streets for a long time,” she insisted.

First squat, first served.

The interim director of the homelessness department (presumably soon to be changed to the unhoused department or the ministry of poop walks) warned that free hotels rooms and pot will only be dispensed to those homeless who "have roots in San Francisco." The new arrivals will have to wait their turn.

You can’t just show up in San Francisco and demand free booze and a hotel room. They’re not suckers.

If you aren’t descended from the first hippies who came here with the first communes, go home. The free booze and hotel rooms are reserved for those with roots in the crackhead community.

But homeless advocates rightly argue that this sort of NIMBY attitude is cruel and selfish. Why shouldn’t the homeless of the coast, the country, the continent, and the planet all show up in San Francisco?

What’s with this homeless nativism that puts San Fran citizenship ahead of need?

Sadly, San Francisco responded parochially to the influx of homeless by sending police officers out to intimidate the new homeless and prevent them from displacing the old homeless. Sometimes you have to destroy the new makeshift homeless encampment to save the old homeless encampment.

And then, soon, you’re beating the undocumented and unhoused with nightsticks for social justice.

Mayor Breed might as well just start building a wall to keep the Stockton homeless out while vowing to Make Homelessness Great Again by giving away pot and booze only to the city’s own homeless.

Representative James Clyburn, the Democrat from South Carolina, wasn’t kidding when he said the Chinese Virus relief bill that Congress is debating was “a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.”

He and his fellow Democrats have packed the House version of the relief bill with money for special interests that has nothing to do with helping average Americans through the pandemic, or fighting the pathogenic scourge that has closed schools and stopped sporting events, and is wrecking the economy and confining Americans to their homes.

The Democrats won’t, as Obama veteran Rahm Emanuel said, let a crisis go to waste.

What’s in It
The “Take Responsibility for Families and Workers Act” is, as a columnist for USA Today wrote, a long wish list for a “liberal Christmas in March.”

Breitbart highlighted some of the goodes the radical Left can expect, courtesy of the American taxpayer:

• Increased fuel emission standards for the airlines will “require each air carrier receiving assistance” to “make and achieve a binding commitment to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions attributable to the domestic flights of such air carrier in every calendar year, beginning with 2021, on a path consistent with a 25 percent reduction in the aviation sector’s emissions from 2005 levels by 2035, and a 50 percent reduction in the sector’s emissions from 2005 levels by 2050.”

• American families will get a small check, but imprudent students who unwisely saddled themselves with massive college debt get up to $10,000 no later than nine months after the emergency is over.

• Even better, Pelosi and her leftist gang will make vote fraud easier. In addition to permitting early voting and on-line and same-day registration, they’ll mandate voting by mail and even “ballot harvesting.”

The State — (A) shall permit a voter to designate any person to return a voted and sealed absentee ballot to the post office, a ballot drop-off location, tribally designated building, or election office so long as the person designated to return the ballot does not receive any form of compensation based on the number of ballots that the person has returned and no individual, group, or organization provides compensation on this basis; and (B) may not put any limit on how many voted and sealed absentee ballots any designated person can return to the post office, a ballot drop off location, tribally designated building, or election office.

• The Democrats want to send $20 million to the Postal Service Pension fund, and, Breitbart noted, fortify leftist social engineering by requiring businesses and corporations to “report racial and gender data regarding salaries, number of employees, supplier diversity, and membership on corporate boards. It also requires federal agencies to use businesses and financial institutions owned by minorities or women.”

Democrats have not explained, at least to the satifaction of any thinking person, how fiddling with airline emissions, same-day voter registration, permitting Democrat political torpedoes to deliver ballots, or forcing the federal government to use minority- and women-owned financial companies will help alleviate the baleful effects of the Chinese Virus.

Beaucoodles of Money

In keeping with their push for immigration anarchy, the Democrats would extend nonimmigrant visas and block colleges from providing “any information to the [Census] Bureau on the immigration or citizenship status of any individual.”

Also included, a GOP fact sheet says, is $1 billion for Obamaphones and $35 million for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, along with “expansive new tax credits for solar and wind energy” and help for “retirement plans for community newspaper employees.”

The bill also includes goodies for Big Labor, a key Democrat special interest, by mandating “increased collective bargaining.”

The GOP also provided a list of provisions in the earlier bill that Democrats blocked, including direct payments to Americans of $1,200 per person, $2,400 per couple, and $500 per child, $350 billion to small businesses, $250 billion in unemployment money, $100 billion for hospitals, and so on and so forth.

The GOP did not divulge the source of all that money.

President Trump announced on Wednesday that the Department of Housing and Urban Development will temporarily suspend all home foreclosures and evictions through the end of April due to coronavirus.

Speaking in a press conference from the White House, the president said he was working with HUD Secretary Ben Carson on the policy.

“HUD will suspend all foreclosures and evictions until the end of April,” President Trump said.

The move was not very different from actions being pushed by avowed democratic socialist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and her progressive allies.

In a seeming allusion to the Trump administration’s plan to send most Americans a check, which is part of an estimated trillion-dollar stimulus plan that would surpass the cost of Barack Obama’s 2009 program, Ocasio-Cortez asserted that merely giving citizens money isn’t enough — the government should suspend payment of rent, mortgages, and student loans.

“What people are dealing with is a liquidity issue,” the first-term congresswoman told 1010 WINS. “While cutting checks is an important part of an equation, I don't think it's going to help if it's the only action that’s taken. We need to take a look at mortgage, rent and student loan payment suspension to give people that buffer time.”

The lawmaker said “bold action” is needed to address the strain on the economy — a strain the government itself has provoked by restricting business operations in the wake of the virus.

Of course, on the one hand, we have the public health concern, but the second is an economic concern. We really need to take very bold action right now to make sure that we protect our moms and pops, our local restaurants, small businesses and also everyday people: freelancers, hourly workers whose incomes are getting cut back dramatically and in an unprecedented fashion and I believe we need to take a lot of action to pass those folks through.

The stimulus package being worked out by the White House and Congress would inject cash into affected industries, including $50 billion for the airline industry.

Ocasio-Cortez, however, said she would rather see money go to the development of public transportation — a common left-wing cause.

“I personally think that it's much more worthwhile for us to bail out our public transportation than the airline industry.... That investment in public infrastructure hasn't happened,” she argued. “I support federal funds to MTA and I personally would like to see the MTA be free or extraordinarily reduced.”

Ocasio-Cortez isn’t alone. Her former chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, leader of New Consensus (the group that authored the Green New Deal), laid out an ask list of coronavirus responses that includes rent and mortgage suspension and a $2,000 monthly living stipend for every American.

Universal Basic Income (UBI), the idea that the government should give all citizens a monthly check just for being alive, has been gaining traction in progressive circles. Its proponents view the coronavirus situation as a way of gaining public support for the idea — and they see President Trump’s proposed stimulus as a validation of their doctrine.

In fact, former Democratic presidential contender Andrew Yang, who made UBI one of the chief tenets of his campaign, said he has been in touch with the White house about incorporating direct cash assistance into a federal COVID-19 response.

Chakrabarti claimed the action needed from the federal government should parallel national mobilization efforts from the Great Depression and World War II.

Fittingly, President Trump declared on Wednesday that he is invoking the Defense Production Act, calling himself a “wartime president.”

“It can do a lot of good things if we need it,” he said at the White House. “We’ll have it all completed, signing it in just a little while.”

The act is described by the Federal Emergency Management Agency as “the primary source of presidential authorities to expedite and expand the supply of resources from the US industrial base to support military, energy, space and homeland security programs.”

The president is using the act to gain more authority to increase the manufacture and distribution of emergency medical supplies, including masks, ventilators, and respirators.

Defense Secretary Mark Esper said that the Defense Department will make up to five million masks available from U.S. strategic reserves.

“The first 1 million masks will be available immediately,” he said.

The Trump administration is moving forward with implementation of its “public charge” rule, which restricts issuance of green cards for immigrants who would be dependent on government welfare upon receiving permanent resident status.

Democrats have opposed the rule, but officials maintain it is a necessary step to protect American taxpayers.

“It’s consistent with our law for over 140 years, it's a core American value of self-sufficiency, and it’s just plain old logic — what country wants to bring welfare problems into its society? We don't want to do that,” said acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Ken Cuccinelli. “We’re happy to open our doors to people from all over the world but we expect them to stand on their own two feet.”

The rule was initially slated to take effect in October of last year after being published in August, but was halted by various court challenges. In January, however, the U.S. Supreme Court lifted preliminary injunctions in a 5-4 vote. And on Friday, the court ruled the same way on a separate injunction for Illinois — allowing the rule to go into effect throughout the country beginning Monday.

“This final rule will protect hardworking American taxpayers, safeguard welfare programs for truly needy Americans, reduce the Federal deficit, and re-establish the fundamental legal principle that newcomers to our society should be financially self-reliant and not dependent on the largess of United States taxpayers,” White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.

U.S. immigration law already includes a “public charge” standard that requires immigrants to provide documents demonstrating self-sufficiency. The standard, however, has until now lacked a formal statutory definition.

The Trump administration’s new rule clarifies the matter by defining a “public charge” as an immigrant who receives one or more designated benefits for more than 12 months during a 35-month period. The list of designated benefits includes Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and most forms of Medicaid. The rule expands the considered benefits from interim guidance that had been issued back in 1999.

It does contain exclusions for certain forms of government assistance, however, including emergency medical assistance, disaster relief, national school lunch programs, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Medicaid received by pregnant women and persons under age 21. Tax credits are also included on the exemptions list.

The rule will be applied to immigrants with temporary or nonimmigrant visas who seek to change their status to legal permanent resident. While DHS estimates 382,000 immigrants would be reviewed per year, it is not certain how many green card applicants would be rejected under the new standards.

Liberal and pro-immigration groups have strongly opposed the rule, arguing it would discourage migrants from seeking government help because doing so might disqualify them from permanent residency eligibility. Proponents of the rule might argue that’s the point.

“Nearly every sector of society has gone on record in opposition to this morally repugnant and legally dubious regulation, and for good reason: its implementation will hurt countless of immigrant and citizen families, and we’re all worse off as a result,” said Marielena Hincapié, executive director of the National Immigration Law Center.

Bernie Sanders, who leads the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, has stated he would reverse the rule if elected, claiming it and other Trump immigration policies are “designed to demonize and hurt those who are the most vulnerable of all.”

Cuccinelli countered that such arguments highlight a “fundamental difference” in immigration perspectives.

“We don't think immigrants should be relying on the U.S. government for welfare and they have some legal ability to do that, but if that's their approach to the United States of America and they have no interest in self-sufficiency and standing on their own two feet, that's not who we want joining our American community long term.”

The DHS head also said that many Americans are surprised such a rule is even needed:

The reaction by most ordinary Americans that talk to me about this is ‘I can’t believe we needed to do this, I can't believe that welfare is available for people who aren’t American citizens or who aren’t already here on a permanent basis.’ They are stunned by that for starters and the idea that we would encourage that is not something I have seen much in the way of favorable response.

While President Trump’s immigration agenda has repeatedly faced setbacks in the courts, it has also scored victories. The Supreme Court has allowed enforcement of the president’s travel ban and the Remain-in-Mexico policy, which sends illegal aliens to Mexico while they await their immigration hearings.

Cuccinelli suggested the wins are sending a message to activist judges: “Some of these lower courts are, I think, gradually getting the message that they have to start being judges again and stop being political activists.”
