BIOLA UNIVERSITY: GOING, GOING, GONE AS PRESIDENT TAKES SABBATICAL AT CATHOLIC CONTEMPLATIVE MONASTERY

http://www.glastonburyabbey.org/images/phocagallery/abbeysign.jpg
Our Lady of Glastonbury Abbey is a community of Benedictine monks who live in Hingham, Massachusetts. They follow the Rule of Saint Benedict, dedicating themselves to a life of prayer, service and hospitality. All are welcome to enjoy the monastery grounds and join the monks in daily Mass and prayer services. Glastonbury celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2014. For more info, www.GlastonbutyAbbey.org.

EXCERPT:
"A few minutes after five o’clock, the bells began to ring from the abbey’s chapel, reminding us that it was time for the afternoon vespers. Acapella in that simple space, we sang psalms with words like, “Hear the voice of my pleading as I call for help, as I lift up my hands in a prayer to your holy place.” With the monks, I began to sing words sung for thousands of years by the people of God. After the benediction, the Benedictines headed for supper and I followed. The evening meal was silent, save for the opening prayer and the memories read of monks long gone."

BIOLA UNIVERSITY: GOING, GOING, GONE
AS PRESIDENT TAKES SABBATICAL
AT CATHOLIC CONTEMPLATIVE MONASTERY
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:

For many years, Lighthouse Trails has written about the slide that Biola University in Southern California has taken into contemplative spirituality. Our first indication that the school was heading that way was in February of 2006 when we learned that Biola was actively participating in a publication called Conversations Journal, a magazine whose primary purpose is to bring contemplative spirituality to the church, and editorial involvement includes names such as Richard Foster, Basil Pennington (a Catholic mystic), Tilden Edwards (co-founder of the panentheistic Shalem Institute), and others of the contemplative viewpoint. Since then, we have watched as Biola has gotten whole-heartedly on the contemplative band wagon with its own Institute for Spiritual Formation through Biola’s Talbot School of Theology.
Fast forward nearly twelve years to the fall of 2017 when the longstanding president of Biola, Dr. Barry Corey, took a month-long sabbatical leave starting with a week at the Glastonbury Abbey in Massachusetts (a Benedictine monastery) then wrote about his time of contemplative silence at the Abbey for the students of Biola in an article titled “The Abbey Makes Space for the Soul” in the school’s student-run newspaper Chimes.
Of course, it makes sense to us that the president of a strongly contemplative university would spend time in silence at a Catholic mystical retreat center. We have been explaining for many years now that contemplative prayer came to the evangelical church from the Catholic monasteries (e.g. Thomas Merton at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky). So naturally, a contemplative proponent such as Corey would be drawn to a Catholic contemplative retreat center. It’s like going back to the roots of what has become the foundation of Biola’s “faith.” And with the president himself boasting of his time at the Glastonbury Abbey, no doubt, many students will wish to follow suit. Most of them probably won’t have the money to take a week off and fly across the country to Massachusetts (college students are generally strapped for funds – Biola’s yearly tuition runs over $40,000 a year). But with President Corey’s glowing report of his time at Glastonbury, students can at least order a few books from Glastonbury’s online bookstore.
Here are some titles Biola students might purchase from the Glastonbury bookstore: Becoming the Presence of God (Contemplative Ministry for Everyone) by Michael Ford, Finding Our Sacred Center by Henri Nouwen, Divine Dance: The Trinity and Your Transformation by Richard Rohr, Christ in All Things: Exploring Spirituality with Pierre Teilhard De Chardin, Guidelines for Mystical Prayer, What the Mystics Know: Seven Pathways to Your Deeper Self by Rohr, and a multitude of other similar books. The majority of the books in Glastonbury’s bookstore radiates with the contemplative message that God is in everyone. For those who are new to understanding contemplative spirituality, THAT is the foundation of contemplative prayer (i.e., Spiritual Formation) – God in everyone, which of course, if was true, then Christ died for us in vain as man would not need a Savior separate from himself. This is why we have given our lives up to warn the church about the infiltration of this panentheistic spirituality that now affects over 90% of the Christian colleges, universities, and seminaries. If contemplative spirituality (as promoted at Biola) is legitimate, then the Gospel is not needed, and those of us who believe in it are the worst of fools.
Some reading this may be thinking, well, just because Dr. Corey visited a contemplative monastery doesn’t mean that Biola itself is promoting or teaching contemplative prayer. On that matter, we could give one example after the next (see links to some of our former research below). But let’s look at just a few recent things from Biola’s website:
First, in Biola’s Journal of Spiritual Formation & Soul Care, in the Fall 2017 issue is an abstract from an article titled “Evangelical Spiritual Disciplines: Practices for Knowing God” written by Dr. Tom Schwanda (Associate Professor of Christian Formation & Spirituality at Wheaton College). It reads:
Evangelicals are not known for their awareness of or appreciation for their own history. . . . “evangelicals . . . have never been introduced to the richness of their own spirituality. Many evangelicals, and more broadly Protestants, were unaware of spiritual disciplines until Richard Foster’s groundbreaking publication Celebration of Discipline first released in 1978. While Foster wrote as an evangelical he was recovering the classic spiritual disciplines that have been shaped by 2,000 years of the Christian church. As important as this was there is also both historical and practical value for evangelicals to recognize the rich spiritual treasures within their stream of Christian spirituality. This article seeks to redress this weakness in one limited way by examining the origin of evangelical spiritual disciplines and their development over the past three centuries. (source; emphasis added)
What Dr. Schwanda means is that evangelicals have been missing out on “classic spiritual disciplines” (primarily contemplative prayer), that is until Richard Foster brought them to us. He’s also saying that Christians don’t have to look for these disciplines from other religions or belief systems because we already have a heritage of Christian mysticism in our own backyard (i.e., a long line of Catholic mystics). Ray Yungen tried to explain this in his book, A Time of Departing. Read the section below, which should provide some insight:
In [Thomas] Merton’s efforts to become a mystic, he found guidance from a Hindu swami, whom Merton referred to as Dr. Bramachari. Bramachari played a pivotal role in Merton’s future spiritual outlook. [Henri] Nouwen divulged this when he said:
“Thus he [Merton] was more impressed when this Hindu monk pointed him to the Christian mystical tradition. . . . It seems providential indeed that this Hindu monk relativized [sic] Merton’s youthful curiosity for the East and made him sensitive to the richness of Western mysticism.”
Why would a Hindu monk advocate the Christian mystical tradition? The answer is simple: they are one in the same. Even though the repetitive words used may differ (e.g. Christian words: Abba, Father, etc. rather than Hindu words), the end result is the same. And the Hindu monk knew this to be true. Bramachari understood that Merton didn’t need to switch to Hinduism to get the same enlightenment that he himself experienced through the Hindu mystical tradition. In essence, Bramachari backed up what I am trying to get across in A Time of Departing, that all the world’s mystical traditions basically come from the same source and teach the same precepts . . . and that source is not the God of the Old and New Testaments. The biblical God is not interspiritual!
Evangelical Christianity is now being invited, perhaps even catapulted, into seeing God with these new eyes of contemplative prayer. And so the question must be asked, is Thomas Merton’s silence, Henri Nouwen’s space, and Richard Foster’s contemplative prayer the way in which we can know and be close to God? Or is this actually a spiritual belief system that is contrary to the true message that the Bible so absolutely defines—that there is only one way to God and that is through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice on the Cross obtained our full salvation? ( A Time of Departing, 2nd ed., p. 199)
Second, to show that Biola is promoting contemplative spirituality, if you examine the editorial staff for the Journal of Spiritual Formation & Soul Care, you will see numerous contemplative and/or emergent names (Ruth Haley Barton, Klaus Issler, Kyle Strobel, Larry Crabb, Bruce Demarest to name a few); there is no way that the Journal is not going to be promoting contemplative spirituality.
One more example, in Biola’s class SEED570 Introduction to Spiritual Formation, one of the textbooks being used is Adele Ahlberg Calhoun’s book, Spiritual Disciplines Handbook. In a Lighthouse Trails review of this book, we quote Calhoun from her book where she states:
I would be remiss not to mention the spiritual tutors that I know only through books: Dorothy Bass, Eugene Peterson, Gerald May, M. Basil Pennington, Dallas Willard, Phyllis Tickle, Fredrick Buechner, Richard Foster, Henri Nouwen, Richard Rohr, Jonathan Edwards [not a contemplative], Francis de Sales, Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, Ignatius Loyola, St. Benedict, Julian of Norwich and many more. Their ideas, voices and examples have shaped my own words and experience of the disciplines. (Acknowledgment’s page)
If you are not familiar with these names, please take some time to study them. They are all mystical advocates. Calhoun’s book does not belong in any school that calls itself Christian. You can see on the Biola website that Calhoun spoke at the school in 2013 as well. In our review of Calhoun, we showed how she advocates the spirituality of Catholic panentheists Thomas Keating and Basil Pennington.
If there is a Biola student reading this article, we beseech you to weigh this matter out in light of Scripture. Your president is pointing you to a spiritual outlook that negates the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is as New Age, panentheistic, and universalistic as it gets. Henri Nouwen, whom you have most likely heard about in some of your classes at Biola, said this statement near the end of his life after spending years practicing contemplative prayer:
Today I personally believe that while Jesus came to open the door to God’s house, all human beings can walk through that door, whether they know about Jesus or not. Today I see it as my call to help every person claim his or her own way to God.”—From Sabbatical Journey, Henri Nouwen’s last book, page 51, 1998 Hardcover Edition
Nouwen came to this conclusion after immersing himself in the very same contemplative silence that Glasonbury Abbey lives by. If the above statement by Nouwen were true, then everyone (even Hitler) will be saved, and it really doesn’t matter what belief a person holds to because every way, every path (be it Buddhism, Hinduism, even atheism) will be a path to God.
Biola University has been introducing students to the beliefs of Henri Nouwen, Thomas Merton, and many other mystics for a long time. Forty thousand dollars a year is a lot of money to pay for an education like that!

Note: Any Biola student, professor, or staff member who would be willing to read A Time of Departing, the book we publish that explains contemplative spirituality, we will be happy to send a free copy. Please just email us at editors@lighthousetrails.com. Your name will be kept confidential.

MOODY BIBLE INSTITUTE'S ENROLLMENT PLUMMETS DUE TO LEADERSHIP'S MORAL FAILINGS & LIBERAL LEANINGS

LTRP Note: Lighthouse Trails has been reporting on and challenging Moody Bible Institute for several years because they have been progressively promoting and turning to contemplative spirituality via Spiritual Formation programs. And yet, in our dealings with them, they have always denied doing this. As we have pointed out so many times, once a school begins going down that path, liberalism (or what we call emergent) and a twisted view on the Gospel and the Bible are the byproducts. Perhaps Moody leadership thought they would increase enrollment by becoming trendy, culturally relevant, emerging, contemplative, and liberal. They forgot one thing – God doesn’t bless the mixing of truth and error – in fact, He judges it.
The following article was posted in November of 2017. On January 10th, the Broken Twig blog posted a new article titled Moody just accepted resignations of President Paul Nyquist, Provost Junias Venugopal & COO Steve Mogck.” While replacing Moody’s leadership may solve some of their problems, if the school doesn’t acknowledge their embracing of the contemplative prayer movement, they will not climb out of this hole but will continue falling further into it.
By The Broken Twig blog
“We’re in a storm.” That’s the reason President Nyquist recently gave for a nearly 30 percent drop in enrollment at Moody the past four years, which has caused the institute to close its Spokane campus and cut more than 20 faculty in Chicago. Nyquist took no responsibility for this dramatic drop in enrollment, which occurred on his watch, but attributed it to a nationwide trend – a “college bubble” that is bursting. He also pointed to a changing culture that rejects Christ and His Word and fails to raise children interested in a Bible education.
While it’s true that many have predicted that the future pool of college applicants is shrinking, bursting a bubble that’s prevailed for decades, it doesn’t explain Moody’s dramatic downturn in such a short amount of time. In fact, total fall enrollment in post-secondary institutions from 2013-2015 decreased only two percent nationwide. During that same time period, applications at Moody plummeted from 1,300 to 1,040 – a 20 percent drop!  . . .
Enrollment at Moody was steady until 2013 when it began to plummet.  In September of that year, Moody changed its longstanding policies regarding alcohol, smoking and gambling. In fact, the policy position was so startling, even the New York Times wrote a piece documenting the change. Click here to continue reading.

What Would D. L. Moody Say Today to Moody Bible Institute About Mingling Truth and Error?

By Dwight L. Moody
I do not see how any Christian, most of all a Christian minister, can go into these secret lodges with unbelievers. They say they can have more influence for good, but I say that they can have more influence for good by staying out of them and reproving their evil deeds.
You can never reform anything by unequally yoking yourself to ungodly men. True reformers separate themselves from the world. But, some say to me, if you talk that way you will drive all the members of secret societies out of your meetings and out of your churches. But what if I did? Better men will take their places. Give them the truth anyway, and if they would rather leave their churches than their lodges, the sooner they get out of their churches the better.
I would rather have ten members who are separated from the world than a thousand such members! Come out from the lodge.
Better one with God than a thousand without Him! We must walk with God, and if only one or two go with us, it is all right. Do not let down the standard to suit men who love their secret lodges or have some darling sin they will not give up! (source: https://www.thebereancall.org/content/dwight-l-moody-masonry).

Martin Luther King, Jr., is a man that is universally praised as one of the greatest heroes of the 20th century. Every year on the 3rd Monday in January, a national holiday is celebrated in his honor. The truth is that Martin Luther King, Jr., was a wicked false prophet, a sexual pervert, and a communist tool. This film is not about race. God has made all nations of the earth of one blood. This film will judge MLK, not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character.

INTRODUCTION BY BROTHER CLOUD

The following is excerpted from an article by Carmeron L. Horne, a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church, Tampa, Florida. As my readers know, I rarely print anything dealing with politics or American government. One reason is that many of our readers do not live in America. Another is that I believe the root cause of a nation's problems are spiritual, and as a preacher I can do more to help my nation by focusing on things related to strengthening churches than I can by addressing political/social evils. The following article, though, so skillfully exposes the lies promoted constantly by the mainstream humanistic media and the public education system that I want to share it with our readers. It is refreshing to hear some truth amidst the deceptive revisionist history one hears on every side today.

As for Horne’s implication that the American Civil War was
not fought over slavery, I only agree in part. While slavery was not the only issue over which the Civil War was fought, it was certainly one of the issues and it was an important one. Other prominent issues in the war were state’s rights and the power of the federal government, but had there not been slavery, the Civil War would not have been fought. Slavery was an ugly blight upon a great nation founded upon the concept of human liberty, and it was a practice that was supported by many professing Christians. Further, we cannot forget the wretched racism that accompanied the practice of slavery. I refer to the idea that the black man is less of a man or a different kind of a man than the white man, and, in some cases, the idea that he was not a real man. The Ku Klux Klan and many similar organizations and movements were a real phenomenon that grew after the Civil War in the fertile soil of Southern racism. I say this as a Southern boy who descends from a long line of racists. As a high sheriff in Georgia, my great grandfather killed seven black men (and repented of it before God before he died); many of my relatives were members of the KKK; my grandmother’s pastor was the head of a KKK chapter; my own father took up petitions to send the “black man back to Africa where he belongs.” I refuse to ignore or whitewash this aspect of the Civil War. To acknowledge that white racism is only one type of racism that is alive and well in this fallen world and that black racism and many other types of racism are just as real and just as ugly, does not make white racism any less wrong. This is not to say that all Southerners were racists or that every person who believes that races should remain separate are racists; but the racial hatred that produced a John Wilkes Booth was a hatred that was far reaching, and it certainly played its role in the Civil War. And I denounce it in no uncertain terms.

HAPPY ROBERT E. LEE'S BIRTHDAY
By Cameron L. Horne

Did you know that a famous Confederate general was born on this date in 1807? Yes, you heard right - General Robert Edward Lee was born in Stratford Virginia on January 19th, 1807!

While our media is busy honoring a civil rights figure of dubious political, ethical, and moral character, they are ignoring a truly great American hero!

For those who still persist in thinking that the American war of 1861-1865 was a "civil" war fought over slavery and the preservation of the union, General Lee stands as a shining example of the truth. Robert E. Lee was an emancipationist who freed his own slaves long before the war began. In fact, before the war he said that he would free every slave in the South if it would prevent war. He knew however that it would not have. For him, and every other Southern lady and gentleman it was not a civil war, but a war for Southern independence!

Contrast him with William T. Sherman, the general who marched through Atlanta leaving a trail of civilian death and destruction, who wrote on July 10, 1860: "Two such races [white and black] cannot live in harmony save as master and slave." I doubt you ever read that in your public school history textbooks.

There is a great deal of American history that has remained buried and hidden from the awareness of the general public. ...

Robert E. Lee understood that anything granted by a government can be withdrawn by that same government, but anything given to us by our Creator cannot be taken by government because it precedes and supersedes government. Please don't forget that the purpose of our Constitution was not to grant rights, but to identify and guarantee them. Lee and many others in the South recognized that the Northern States were violating the Constitution. ...

General Lee did not want secession, but when he realized that no other option was left, he said: "I will still follow my native state with my sword, and if need be with my life... These are my principles, and I must follow them." When Lee resigned his commission in the United States Army to join the Confederacy, he said: "I cannot take up arms against my own state. A union that can only be maintained by swords and bayonets ... has no charm for me."

General Lee was a true role model; the likes of which is rarely seen today. He was imbued with wisdom, high moral character, an unfailing sense of duty, true manhood and a heroic nobleness that inspired steadfast loyalty among the troops of the Army of Northern Virginia. During the war, he ate what his troops ate, and often slept on the cold ground even when a house and bed was available. When his officers complained, he said: "Why should a general live better than a soldier in the ranks?"

Even in defeat, his faith never wavered. In a letter to his wife after the battle of Gettysburg, he wrote: "I trust that a merciful God, our only hope and refuge, will not desert us in this hour of need, and will deliver us by His almighty hand, that the whole world may recognize His power and all hearts be lifted up in adoration and praise of His unbounded loving-kindness. We must, however, submit to His almighty will, whatever that may be." Such was the character and conviction of General Robert E. Lee.

Contrast this man with the plastic icon that our society has chosen for January 19th. Today is the day that Congress has set aside as a national holiday to celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. - a thoroughly despicable hypocrite, a violent and immoral degenerate, a worthless charlatan, and a Marxist.

Lest anyone attempt to level the charge of RACISM against me, let me point out that the preceding description contained no reference to race. That is because it wasn't his race that made him despicable, it was his behavior.

I also did not include the title of "Dr." because he plagiarized his way through Boston University and Crozer Theological Seminary. This documented and verifiable fact was revealed by none other than those who were closest to him. David J. Garrow (a leftist academic who was sympathetic to King) said that King's wife, Coretta Scott King, who also served as his secretary, was an accomplice in King's repeated cheating. The four senior editors of "The Papers of Martin Luther King, Jr." (an official publication of the M.L. King Center for Nonviolent Social Change Inc.) stated that King's writings at both the university and the seminary were: "Tragically flawed by numerous instances of plagiarism." Most of King's papers, speeches, and "sermons" were copied word for word from the works of Dr. Jack Boozer, Edgar S. Brightman, and Paul Tillich.

The good "Reverend" King was also a dedicated Marxist and Communist. King was intimately involved in several Communist front groups including the Highlander Folk School in Monteagle, Tennessee founded by Myles Horton and Don West: both members of the Communist Party U.S.A. The agenda of many of these meetings was to plan tours of the Southern states to initiate demonstrations and riots.
 https://qph.ec.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-bfca19c2203bf904a23a6751b2d6a76b

King went on to found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). This organization was staffed and funded by other Communist individuals and front groups. According to the FBI, many of Kings "nonviolent" marches were in reality carefully crafted public image appearances that were usually accompanied by the violent demonstrations of his followers. The FBI also uncovered King's habit of using SCLC money to hire prostitutes to keep him entertained during the civil rights tours. According to witnesses working in local hospitals, many of these prostitutes would end up in the emergency room after being physically abused by King.

J. Edgar Hoover tried to warn the President and Congress by making all files available to them. The FBI files were also made available to all the major electronic and print media. The rest is history. A federal judge sealed the files until the year 2027, the President and the media said nothing, and the charade continued.

The last night Martin Luther King spent on earth was at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis having sex with two prostitutes and physically beating a third.

Retired FBI Assistant Director William C. Sullivan describes himself as a liberal and said that he was initially "One hundred percent for King..." until he learned the truth during the investigation. After having "seen it all" during his 30 years with the FBI, Sullivan said that King was one of only seven people he had ever encountered who was such a total degenerate.

IT'S TIME TO STOP BEATIFYING MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.: JFK FILES EXPOSE LEADER
AS SEXUAL PERVERT, MARXIST

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:
Anyone vaguely familiar with Martin Luther King, Jr. has known this for
some time,  but the newly released JFK files expose MLK as a sexual
pervert with actual documentation. It’s time for The Social Gospel
Coalition, Russell Moore, and other evangelicals to stop beatifying this
man as an evangelical leader to be admired. The Social Gospel Coalition
has named its upcoming 2018 Cultural Marxism conference after the civil rights
activist, in spite of the fact that King questioned the resurrection,
doubted the Bible’s miracles, and held to what anyone might rightly
call theological liberalism. Regardless of being strongly partnered with
Communists and preaching the false gospel of Rauschenbuschism
the Evangelical Intelligentsia regularly invokes his name as a saint in that great
cloud of witnesses.

President Donald Trump ordered the release of documents relating to President John F. Kennedy from the National Archives, and those documents contain a dossier on King. What they reveal, according to Fox News and other sources, is that King had multiple extramarital affairs, likely sired an out-of-wedlock child with his mistress, and had a penchant for orgies. Please note that these have all been common knowledge about King, but these documents provide hard evidence of the claims.
The Washington Examiner claims that a 20-page document details a “two-day drunken sex orgy in Washington D.C.” attended by King, in which he took part in the festivities. The primary source document may be read here. The document reveals that the orgy contained both heterosexual and homosexual behavior (it’s long been known that King engaged in bi-sexual behavior). Claims that this document is an attempt by J. Edgar Hoover to slander King are entirely foolish, considering that this was an internal report that was sealed from the public.
The document also details MLK’s communist sentiments, quoting a “Gus Hall,” who was the General Secretary of CPUSA (the Communist Party), as saying, “King is a whole-hearted Marxist who has studied it, believes in it, and agrees with it, but because of his being a minister of religion, does not dare to espouse it publicly.”
Furthermore, the document cites attendees at several of his events who testify to “behind the scenes drinking, fornication, and homosexuality that went on at the conference,” and provided testimony of prostitutes being brought in for King and his associates. Along with this the document also reveals that King was carrying on ongoing affairs with at least three women, including a prominent folk singer. The document states, “It is a fact that King not only regularly indulges in adulterous acts but enjoys the abnormal by engaging in group sex orgies.”
The lineup at MLK50 is like a roster for New Calvinism, including DA Carson, Matt Chandler, and Russell Moore. Steve Gaines, the President of the Southern Baptist Convention, seems to have been invited as the token Arminian.
You can read the document for yourself here.

The Catholic Church, which makes millions of dollars annually on refugee resettlement, is now saying that those who oppose the Muslim migrant influx are morally deficient. If you don’t want your land invaded by tens or hundreds of thousands of people with vastly different values, which they consider superior to yours, you are simply not a good Christian.
Yet there is real cause for concern. Are Catholics to turn a blind eye to the fact that all of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees? Is it racism and xenophobia to recall that in February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees? Or that the Lebanese Education Minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country?
Meanwhile, 80% of migrants who have come to Europe claiming to be fleeing the war in Syria aren’t really from Syria at all. So why are they claiming to be Syrian and streaming into Europe, and now the U.S. as well? An Islamic State operative gave the answer when he boasted in September 2015, shortly after the migrant influx began, that among the flood of refugees, 4,000 Islamic State jihadis had already entered Europe. He explained their purpose: “It’s our dream that there should be a caliphate not only in Syria but in all the world, and we will have it soon, inshallah.” These Muslims were going to Europe in the service of that caliphate: “They are going like refugees,” he said, but they were going with the plan of sowing blood and mayhem on European streets. As he told this to journalists, he smiled and said, “Just wait.”
On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe.
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
“Vatican Official Decries ‘Obsession’ with National Security, Border Control,” by Thomas D. Williams, Breitbart, January 12, 2018:
A Vatican official has come out swinging in defense of Pope Francis’ insistence on the topic of immigration, accusing the Pope’s critics of being “obsessed” with national security and border control.
Asked in an interview with Italian media whether the Pope isn’t “obsessed” with the immigration question, Jesuit Father Michael Czerny, undersecretary for the Vatican’s office of Migrants and Refugees, responded that it isn’t Pope Francis who is obsessive, but rather his critics.
Many would say that the modern “obsession with borders and national security to the detriment of the rights and dignity of refugees and refugees” is excessive, the priest declared. And for many others, “the media predilection for sensational stories that feed xenophobia and isolationism is also excessive,” he added.
For many people, “the way in which politicians create or exaggerate a sense of crisis to obtain short-term advantages is decidedly excessive,” he said.
Anybody who thinks the Pope’s focus on migrants is obsessive “should give the current situation a thoughtful look,” Father Czerny said. If anything is excessive, “it is the slowness with which the ‘developed’ world responds to such obvious and pressing needs,” many would say.
Citing the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, the priest said that “the rise of nationalism and xenophobia must be counted among the new dangers for global peace and stability.”
“Far from criticizing the Pope’s attention,” he said, “many good people—and I think they are the overwhelming majority—are indeed deeply grateful for his moral guidance and good example.”
“And I agree with him when he says: ‘Those who fuel fear towards migrants, perhaps for political ends, instead of building peace, sow violence, racial discrimination and xenophobia,’” he said.
The official added that true leaders “show that the common good can and must be pursued and that there is no ‘common good’ based on fear, defense and marginalization.”
The Vatican office for Migrants and Refugees working for “the expansion of safe, legal channels for all migrants through the granting of humanitarian visas” as well as promoting “programs of community sponsorship” for migrants and refugees.
Last fall, the Vatican announced the roll-out of a two-year campaign called “Share the Journey” aimed at provoking a “shift in thinking” on immigration.
The campaign is being spearheaded by the global Catholic charities network Caritas Internationalis, and was launched as a response to Pope Francis’ frequent summons for a “culture of encounter.”
Our world “faces not a migration crisis, but a crisis of global solidarity,” Caritas says on its website. “Be part of a worldwide campaign to reach out to migrants, change perceptions, open hearts and minds, and strengthen the bonds that unite us all.”….

OVER 200 MILLION CHRISTIANS WORLDWIDE FACING SEVERE PERSECUTION

OVER 200 MILLION CHRISTIANS WORLDWIDE FACING SEVERE PERSECUTION
BY CHRISTINE DOUGLASS-WILLIAMS
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:
215 million Christians faced the most severe
persecution in 2017, resulting in 3,066 deaths
and 1,020 rapes mainly targeting women
While North Korea tops the list of the world’s worst persecuting countries, in second place and occupying every place down to number 14 are majority-Muslim countries, with the single exception of Eritrea.
In order after North Korea: 2. Somalia 3. Afghanistan 4. Pakistan 5. Sudan 6. Syria 7. Iraq 8. Iran 9. Yemen 10. Eritrea 11. Libya 12. Nigeria 13. Maldives 14. Saudi Arabia.
The world has grown accustomed to this intolerable abuse against Christians, and whenever the ubiquitous and systemic Islamic abuses of Christians are pointed out, apologists are quick to divert attention away by pointing out other abuses elsewhere.

“Study: Over 200 Million Christians Worldwide Facing Severe Persecution”, by Edwin Mora, Breitbart, January 11, 2018:
WASHINGTON, DC — North Korea stands at the top of a list of 50 countries where at least 215 million Christians faced the most severe persecution in 2017, resulting in 3,066 deaths and 1,020 rapes mainly targeting women, revealed Open Doors, an organization that monitors ill-treated Christians worldwide.
At the National Press Club on Wednesday, David Curry, the president and CEO of Open Doors, unveiled the 2018 World Wide List (WWL) of the top 50 “most dangerous” countries to worship Jesus. Referring to North Korea, he declared:
Imagine in your mind a leader that thinks he’s god but acts like an animal — devouring his own people with his teeth where people are forced to worship at the statute of Kim Jung Un and bow down and lay flowers at his feet as if he was a god.
Yet, [Kim] sets up controls mechanisms, neighborhood watches that surround communities rewarding citizens for spying on each other giving them more food if they find somebody who has a Bible and who purports to a be a Christian and that makes Christians the number one enemy of the state in North Korea and that’s why it is the number one on the world’s watchlist.
Open Doors pointed out that thousands of Christians are facing death worldwide for practicing their faith, particularly in North Korea.
According to the monitor group’s 2018 World Watch List (WWL), “215 million Christians experience high levels of persecution in the [50] countries on the World Watch List,” with the majority of them in North Korea, considered “the worst place for Christians” for 16 consecutive years since 2002.
Open Doors reported:
The primary driver of persecution in North Korea is the state. For three generations, everything in the country focused on idolizing the leading [Kim Jung Un] family. Christians are seen as hostile elements in society that have to be eradicated.
Due to the constant indoctrination permeating the whole country, neighbors and even family members are highly watchful and report any suspicious religious activity to the authorities…The situation for Christians is vulnerable and precarious. They face persecution from state authorities and their non-Christian family, friends and neighbors. Pray for their protection.
There are many Christians languishing, starving, and enduring hard labor in North Korea prisons for merely owning a Bible and having faith in Jesus Christ.
Since the U.S.-led war that started in Afghanistan soon after September 11, 2001, the United States has spent at least $877 billion on the war-devastated country, including on the promotion of religious freedoms.
Nevertheless, Afghanistan came in second place in the list of the top 50 worst countries in terms of persecution — where the cost of being a Christian can quickly turn into a nightmare and the last breath one ever takes.
During the 2017 reporting period covered by the latest World Watch List, persecutors killed 3,066 Christians, kidnapped 1,252, raped 1,020, and attacked 793 churches, noted Open Doors.
Of the top ten countries, eight are tormented by “Islamic Oppression,” which mainly refers to hostility against Christians. Eritrea and North Korea are the exceptions.
Meanwhile, persecution against Christians at the hands of “Hindu extremists” in India is on the rise, resulting in deaths and rape of Christian women.
“A shocking trend in the world watchlist I want to highlight for you today is the increase in persecution of Christian women,” stated Curry. “The data seems to prove that Christian women are the most vulnerable population today with sexual harassment and rape and forced marriage being prime tactics from extremists against the world against Christians.”
Pakistan, India’s regional enemy, has accused Hindu extremists of persecuting Christians and Muslims and forcing them to convert to their religion….

Every day, Christian women reportedly face sexual harassment, rape, and forced marriage, all common in India, which is ranked 11 on the persecution list.
The justice for Christians in India is “poor,” determined Curry, noting that 635 Jesus followers were held and detained in the nation without trial last year alone, often called one of the largest democracies in the world.
Of the 50 nations on the Open Doors World Watch list, at least two Western Hemisphere countries made the cut joining the very few predominantly Christian nations on the list — Latin America’s Mexico (39th place) and Colombia (49th) where persecution is reportedly driven by “organized crime and corruption.”
The monitor group identifies North Korea’s communist and post-communist oppression as the primary source of persecution against Christians, which make up a little over 1 percent (300,000) of the 25.4 million population…..

PAULA WHITE REPS. SCRUB WEB PAGE OF LANGUAGE URGING "FIRST FRUITS" OFFERING OF WAGES, "CONSEQUENCES" FOR NOT GIVING
BY HEATHER CLARK
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:
APOPKA, Fla. — Following media reports and public backlash over the matter,
representatives for false teacher Paula White, who also serves as the chair of
President Trump’s Evangelical Advisory Board, have scrubbed a page on White’s
website of any mention that she had urged followers to give a “first fruits”
offering of a day, week, or month’s wages—and that there are “consequences”
for those who don’t give God their first fruits out of “ignorance or direct
disobedience.”
As previously reported, Leonardo Blair of the Christian Post had first reported on White’s pitch, in which she declared via the web page (which includes a recorded video), “When we apply the Principle of First Fruits, we see that all firsts should be given to the Lord: the first of the day, week (Sabbath), month, and the first of our harvest—be it the wages for the first day, week, or the month.”
She asserted that “2018 is a year of life and deliverance from struggle [and] it begins right now with first fruits.” White noted that part of the Hebrew word for 18 means “alive” or “living.”
“We are demanding life to your purpose,” White declared. “And with obedience to this first fruits instruction, which is putting God first now, your purpose, your year, your prosperity, and your power will have life and be resurrected!”

She said that she personally gives one month’s wages every year, and noted that others “sow a month’s pay, a week’s pay, [or] a day’s pay,”—whatever is their best.
“Each January, I put God first and honor Him with the first of our substance by sowing a first fruits offering of one month’s pay. That is a big sacrifice, but it is a seed for the harvest I am believing for in the coming year,” White outlined.
“When you apply this, everything comes in divine alignment for His plan and promises for you. When you don’t honor it, whether through ignorance or direct disobedience, there are consequences,” she also warned.

White urged followers, both in the video and article, to click on a donate button to give their first fruits offering to her ministry. Depending on the amount donated, she offered a book, devotional and/or wall calendar, repeating several times that one should give God “their best.”
“Many people can do more! Remember, I believe in sowing a month’s, week’s, or day’s pay,” White reiterated. “By honoring God and obeying His Word it shifts something supernaturally! It’s about doing your very best! Honoring God with the principle of first fruits with your seed is all about Him—God is worth it! Let me hear from you right away and make your ‘promise to come’ a reality!”

Original paragraph on White’s website, since deleted. Click to enlarge.
However, following media reports about the matter, as of Jan. 9, any language referencing a “day, week or month’s” wages or “consequences” or “demanding life to your purpose”—or any of the above quotes, with the exception of the book/devotional/calendar offer and references to giving your best—was absent from the web page. An edited version remains, which still asks followers via a donate button to “give your first fruits offering today.” The link leads to a donation page, which likewise discusses first fruits.
Christian News Network utilized the Wayback Machine to compare both versions of the web page. Click here for the original post by White and/or her staff and here for the edited post.
A spokesperson for White also claimed to the Christian Post in a statement that White’s remarks weren’t reported in their “full context” in Blair’s article and that White was only referring to herself giving of a month’s wages—and that she wasn’t suggesting that her followers must donate a month’s salary to her ministry or suffer the consequences.
“Pastor Paula White’s comments were originally reported out of their full context. She was actually speaking of her personal, longtime commitment to ‘put God first at the beginning of a new year,’ and as part of that commitment she has often donated her entire January salary to charity in gratitude to God for His blessings,” the statement said.
“She encouraged others to also be generous, but she does not—and did not—suggest that other people must donate a month’s salary to her or her church or face divine punishment,” the spokesperson added. “Charity is at the heart of Christianity as it is at the heart of every religious tradition in the world, and anyone who has listened to White’s teaching within its proper context should come to this conclusion as well.”
Text still remains in White’s video uploaded to YouTube, which reads in all capital letters, “Bring God the whole of the first — 1st day — 1st week — 1st month’s wages!” Below the urging reads, “Honor God with your first fruits offering — Click the donate button!” (as seen above in main photo)
“I want you to click on that [donate] button, and I want you to honor God with His first fruits offering,” White also states in the video.
As previously reported, White considers herself a life coach, authoring books such as “The Ten Commandments of Health and Wellness,” “Simple Suggestions for a Sensational Life,” “I Don’t Get Wholeness, That’s the Problem—Making Relationships Work” and “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not.”
She has been married three times. Her first marriage was to Dean Knight, who she married as a teenager. The two have a son together, named Bradley. In 2007, White divorced her second husband, Randy White, and in 2015, she married Journey rocker Jonathan Cain, who has likewise been married three times.

Under Dan Boone’s Leadership, a Christian University Compromises with Radical Islam
BY MANNY SILVA

“…I am deepening in the mystical forms of prayer.” (Dr. Dan Boone)
The above statement is a reflection of the paganistic ideas that guide Dr. Dan Boone’s theology. Dr. Boone is eventually going to run two Christian colleges into the ground. It’s just a matter of time, and perhaps that is what needs to happen. Trevecca Nazarene University has been going downhill spiritually thanks to his leadership. Let’s look at his latest decision, or non-decision, which demonstrates his lack of courage to stand against political correctness and radical Islam. It seems he wants to be their friend, even as he has a history of talking ugly against “fundamental Bible-believers.”  The Church of the Nazarene needs some real leadership that is sorely lacking.
Here, see for yourselves:
http://tennesseestar.com/2018/01/10/trevecca-university-caves-to-radical-muslims-at-cair-cancels-mae-beavers-event/
In summary, Dr. Boone has allowed Trevecca to cave to one of the most radical Islamic groups in the world. CAIR, which operates here in the United States, claims to be a moderate group interested in peace, but it is far from what it claims. Several years ago, CAIR was identified as a major financial contributor to the Holy Land Foundation, which funneled major money to Hamas, a terrorist group dedicated to the destruction of Israel. CAIR was named as an un-indicted co-conspirator. CAIR is a radical wolf in sheep’s clothing, and Dan Boone has kissed their ring finger.
So what happened in Kentucky? A Homeland Security Summit scheduled for Jan. 25 at Trevecca Nazarene University was suddenly cancelled. It was sponsored by Republican gubernatorial candidate and former State Senator Mae Beavers. Dr. Boone explained that it was cancelled because of complaints from “alumni.”

Here is Dr. Boone’s excuse:
“Throughout our history, Trevecca has consistently offered political candidates of both parties the opportunity to use our campus for events. We strongly believe that our students benefit from proximity to the voting process, and that freedom of speech is a foundation of American democracy.
However, a recent event tentatively scheduled to be held on our campus appears to have an agenda beyond a political campaign. This event would distract from our commitment to community building, education, and support of a diverse enrollment. Our agenda of Christian education in the heart of Nashville requires that we serve the best interests of this mission. For this reason, the planned event will not be held on Trevecca’s campus.”
Here is CAIR’s standard reaction to anyone who opposes their radicalism:
“It’s kind of a who’s who of Islamophobes. The themes are always the same – Muslims are about to take over the country and install sharia in place of the Constitution, and mosques are hotbeds of extremism.” ( CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper)
This is part of Mae Beaver’s response:
“Today Trevecca has abandoned the Biblical principles that they preach in order to embrace political correctness and promote the interests of those who deny Christ and stand opposed to everything the University has represented in the past.”

Dr. Boone And The Real Radicals
Dr. Boone has a history of harsh criticism of Bible-believers, and clearly continues to exhibit a pattern of cow-towing to the politically correct world and radical Islam. He wants to be their friend. He wants to show how “loving” and “tolerant” and “understanding” he can be. He demonstrates, as Mae Beaver pointed out, that he is a supporter of Christ-deniers, and has little concern for Christians.
A few years ago, Dr. Boone made a curious decision to welcome a group on campus that was fundamentally opposed to the biblical view of homosexuality. But for the sake of some kind of compassionate dialogue, Dr. Boone allowed the radical homosexual group SoulForce to come onto campus and spout their un-Christian views. There was no problem for Dr. Boone in allowing promoters of sexual sin to invade the Trevecca campus. Here is the link to the article I wrote:
https://reformednazarene.wordpress.com/2012/03/26/a-response-to-dan-boones-report-on-soulforce/
Yet he sees a great concern with folks coming to campus to talk about the security of our nation and what to do about radical Islam. Dr. Boone is either a friend of radical Islam, or he does not have the moral courage to stand up to it. That is why he will run Trevecca as well as Eastern Nazarene College into the ground of moral relativism.

Dr. Boone Is The Real Radical
Dr. Boone has compared Bible-Believing Christians to Islamic fundamentalists. He says that our appetites have been whetted “by religious blood in the water.” (https://reformednazarene.wordpress.com/2012/10/11/dan-boone-goes-after-bible-believers-again/)
If you were to ever have a conversation with him about the Scriptures, you may just see him become a bit uncomfortable if you express your belief in the infallible, inerrant word of God. If you talk long enough about your complete trust in God’s word, and in your belief in the creation account, he may just very well turn beet-red! You see, he was one of the prime writers of the now-defunct Nazarenes Exploring Evolution, whose website has ignominiously disappeared along with their ungodly articles espousing evolution.
Dr. Boone is also into mysticism and Roman Catholic rituals like “practicing the silence”. Dr. Boone once said on his profile at Nazarene Theological Seminary (it is now gone) that “…I am deepening in the mystical forms of prayer.”
His affinity for contemplative spirituality is demonstrated by the prayer labyrinths he popularized at Trevecca for years. When I posted a few articles on the labyrinth at Trevecca, he started calling them prayer paths or prayer walks.
He has long promoted yearly trips for students to the Gethsemani Monastery in Kentucky, a site that was the spiritual home of the Roman Catholic mystic, Thomas Merton. Here at this retreat, students have the opportunity to “practice the silence”, which is nothing more than Catholic mysticism that has no roots in biblical teaching. The “spiritual discipline” of silence is a doctrine of demons.
Dr. Boone is just another in a long line of Nazarenes rushing to hold hands with the Roman Catholic Church.
Dr. Boone promotes one of the leading teachers of contemplative mysticism, false teacher Richard Foster. As an example, Foster makes the amazing claim that non-believers can also practice the Christian spiritual disciplines: “We need not be well advanced in matters of theology to practice the Disciplines. Recent converts–for that matter people who have yet to turn their lives over to Jesus Christ–can and should practice them” (Celebration of Discipline, 1978, p. 2).
Dr. Boone has called Thomas Merton and Ignatius of Loyola spiritual giants.
Merton was not a spiritual giant- he was a monk who said that he was “deeply impregnated with Sufism” because he believed that Eastern mysticism was compatible with and could be incorporated into Christianity.  He placed Mary high on a level equal to Jesus, he prayed to many Catholic saints.  He was influenced by Aldous Huxley, who found enlightenment through hallucinogenic drugs.
Ignatius of Loyola was no wiser, and as the founder of the Jesuits he brutally persecuted Christians and swore complete submission to the pope.  As most Roman Catholics do, he venerated Mary.  He practiced extreme asceticism, living in a cave for a year and never bathing.  He also promoted and taught visualization prayers, breath prayers, and other unbiblical practices (Source: David Cloud, Way of Life).  Yet, Dan Boone calls him a spiritual giant.
In a letter to Nazarene pastors he wrote in 2009, Dr. Boone not only erroneously claimed that the Roman Catholic church was the only church for 1500 years after Christ, but he also exposed more error along with his ecumenical get along with everyone philosophy.  How is it that we can “be one” with the Roman Catholic Church?
“While Nazarenes are different from Catholics in very significant ways, we believe that we will share eternity with them in the presence of the Christ who prayed that we might be one.” (Dan Boone)
His philosophy seems to be that anyone who claims the name of Jesus, no matter their belief otherwise, will spend eternity with Christ. This is contrary to Jesus’s teaching, and indicates Dr. Boone’s dangerous and ignorant thinking as he misleads others.
Dr. Boone may become a General Superintendent one day, and it will be no surprise. He knows how to play the game well. He is a friend to the LGBTQ agenda, and has demonstrated his support for them. He fought hard at the General Assembly in 2013 to water down the statement on human sexuality. He would be welcomed eagerly by Love Wins: LGBT, Andy McGee, as well as the leadership of the Dutch Nazarene district and other districts and churches that are slowly inching towards the normalization of homosexuality. It’s just a matter of time.
Such a man is what it will take to further go down the road of biblical compromise in the church. It is a road to further heresy and the destruction of a holiness denomination. And we still hear nothing from the General Superintendents about anything- all is well.

"“The best indication that the Homeland Security Summit we were hosting is both necessary and important is the fact that CAIR doesn’t like it,” Beavers noted.
“CAIR consistently opposes efforts to improve our security and protect our communities from the terror attacks that are the weapon of choice of radical political Islam. Being the target of criticism from CAIR is a badge of honor, particularly when they never find any basis to criticize any other Republican candidates for Governor who all apparently meet with the approval of CAIR,” Beavers said.
“Nevertheless, I am very disappointed that with all the other liberal-oriented political events held on the Trevecca campus that they would cancel our Summit based on complaints from CAIR,” Beavers continued, adding:
CAIR seeks to silence any and all voices that do not bow to their claim that Islam is “peaceful and tolerant.” Sadly, the Yazidi women and children in Iraq who were targets of ISIS, the Coptic Christians in Egypt, the 300 killed by Al-Shabbab in Somalia in October, the dozens of victims at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, the 14 murdered at a Christmas party in San Bernardino, the five service members murdered by Mohammed Abdulazeez in CHATTANOOGA, and the thousands who are killed each year throughout the world at the hands of radical Islamists might disagree with CAIR’s propaganda campaign. CAIR and the Southern Poverty Law Center are much more focused on designating and silencing any speech they disagree with as “hate speech” rather than confronting and condemning the truly evil and hateful ACTIONS that are produced by political Islam that they condone.”
“I grew up practically on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University,” Beavers noted.
“I went to elementary school there. I graduated from college there. My husband attended college there. My dad and uncle brought the lumber from my granddaddy’s sawmill in Alabama to build the McClurkan Building,” Beavers pointed out.

Despite the eleventh-hour cancellation by Trevecca, the Homeland Security Summit’s Eventbrite page is still up and active as organizers scramble to relocate the event.
In addition to Mae Beavers, headlining the Summit are nationally recognized subject matter experts on Islam and the imperative of jihad, Dr. Bill Warner, Cathy Hinners, and John Guandolo:"

EXCERPT:
This past Monday we hosted a visit from an activist group called SoulForce. Quoting from their letter, “Groups of young adults have brought the Equality Ride bus to more than 70 campuses over the last four years with the heartfelt mission of creating dialogue about the inclusion and community climate of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) people.” The group was respectful, congenial, and informed. They came in a spirit of friendship and left in the same spirit. We were able to converse with each other in a manner befitting respect and charity. They spoke on behalf of a hurting minority in the church and on the campus whose gender orientation makes life challenging for them. They left us with 3 requests:

1)  that we change the wording of our behavioral policies to more equally treat gay, lesbian, and queer persons (their preferred titles),
2)  that we specifically name our opposition to bullying on the basis of gender orientation by naming the LGBTQ in our policy, and
3)  that we create a LGBTQ Club on the campus as a safe place for students to discuss their sexual orientation.

This egregious USA Today article is full of the usual nonsense: it’s “anti-Muslim” to oppose jihad terror, Hamas-linked CAIR is presented as if it were the civil rights organization it claims to be, without any indication of the fact that CAIR officials have refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) CAIR chapters frequently distribute pamphlets telling Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. A CAIR operative recently called for the overthrow of the U.S. government.
An unsavory Hamas-linked group and a hard-Left smear group, the Southern Poverty Law Center, should not be allowed to control who speaks about security issues and who doesn’t, much less to control the public discourse to the extent that only its point of view is represented in a major newspaper. But that is the world we live in today.

“Trevecca Nazarene University blocks Mae Beavers event criticized as anti-Islam,” by Natalie Allison, USA Today, January 10, 2018:
Amid criticism, Trevecca Nazarene University has withdrawn as a venue this month for a controversial event organized by Republican gubernatorial candidate Mae Beavers.
The Jan. 25 “Homeland Security Summit” will feature three speakers known by critics for espousing anti-Muslim views, including Bill French — listed on promotional materials under his pen name “Bill Warner” — Cathy Hinners and John Guandolo.
“It’s kind of a who’s who of Islamaphobes,” said Ibrahim Hooper, communications director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, known as CAIR.
“The themes are always the same: Muslims are about to take over the country and install sharia in place of the Constitution, and mosques are hotbeds of extremism.”
Beavers released a statement on Wednesday describing Trevecca’s decision as “caving to Islamic pressure” and said the university had “abandoned Biblical principles in order embrace [sic] political correctness and promote the interests of those who deny Christ.”
In a statement to USA TODAY NETWORK – Tennessee on Wednesday, the university said the event would distract from Trevecca’s mission.
“Throughout our history, Trevecca has consistently offered political candidates of both parties the opportunity to use our campus for events,” according to the statement from spokeswoman Mandy Crow. “We strongly believe that our students benefit from proximity to the voting process, and that freedom of speech is a foundation of American democracy.
“However, a recent event tentatively scheduled to be held on our campus appears to have an agenda beyond a political campaign. This event would distract from our commitment to community building, education, and support of a diverse enrollment. Our agenda of Christian education in the heart of Nashville requires that we serve the best interests of this mission. For this reason, the planned event will not be held on Trevecca’s campus.”
Trevecca President Dan Boone said in a statement on Tuesday the university shared concerns expressed by alumni who had contacted the school after learning of the event.
Beavers, 70, is an alumna of the university.
Crow said Tuesday that Boone’s office had received complaints about the event and school officials began researching the speakers.
The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee confirmed it distributed a letter to roughly 3,000 people over the weekend who had previously signed its Nashville Unites resolution in an effort to inform them about the controversial summit being planned.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the event will go on at another venue.
CAIR issued a statement on Wednesday announcing that it “welcomes” the university’s decision to drop the event.
Following criticism, Beavers points finger at critics
In response to CAIR’s initial criticism of the event’s speakers, Beavers noted that the Muslim advocacy group had been designated a terrorist group by the United Arab Emirates and alleged the organization was involved in “terrorism in the Holy Land.”
The U.S. government does not deem CAIR a terror group.
In an interview about the summit, Beavers said she decided to organize the event because she is concerned about illegal immigration, and that Americans and Tennesseans “don’t know who is coming here.”
Though Beavers said the event is on “homeland security” in general, all the speakers featured in the summit express a clear focus on Islam.
“I think Islam is a threat to our country,” Beavers said in response to whether she was against the religion, before adding that she believes “Islam is a political agenda.”
She disagreed that the summit could be classified as an anti-Islam event.
Beavers described herself as “the only gubernatorial candidate who has been talking about homeland security,” and told the USA TODAY NETWORK – Tennessee she was forming an “advisory committee on homeland security.”
When asked about homeland security risks facing Tennessee, Beavers noted “the crime and the gangs that have come here because of illegal immigration.”
Event speakers long-criticized by civil rights groups
Guandolo, a former FBI agent who runs the website and training group “Understanding The Threat,” was accused by a Minnesota sheriff last year of assaulting him at a national law enforcement conference.
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Guandolo is an “anti-Muslim extremist” who has been barred by multiple law enforcement agencies from continuing to conduct training workshops due to his conspiracy theories about Muslims.
Multiple events being led by Guandolo and his Understanding The Threat associate Chris Gaubatz have been canceled, including as recently as Tuesday in Amherst County, Virginia.
French runs the Nashville-based Center for the Study of Political Islam, which the SPLC has also labeled a hate group, and was a leader in opposing plans in 2010 for a new mosque in Murfreesboro.
He formerly worked as a physics professor at Tennessee State University.
Hinners, who lives in the Nashville area, is a retired Albany, N.Y., police officer who now runs the blog Daily Roll Call, where she claims to expose “the Islamists and their organizations throughout the country, with an emphasis on the State of Tennessee,” according to her LinkedIn profile….

As vast numbers of Muslims claim to be American, just as many are responsible for the downfall of our society as we know it by demanding change and accommodations which only behoove Islamists. Looking back at a year when divisiveness and hatred were at an all time high, look deeper and you will see exactly what was the cause.
Islamists have attacked three things Americans hold dear, our faith, our children, and our security. All have been undermined by an ideology that is disguised as a religion called Islam. So how is this creating a divisive United States? Let’s start with the security. Islamists have pushed, and sued, for Muslim refugees and immigrants to be able to enter the U.S, despite travel bans and stricter vetting policies. As if that wasn’t enough, Muslims have also jumped on the “sanctuary city” issue, promoting their social justice and civil rights agenda, which doe not take into account the safety or security of Americans at all.
It’s all about their caliphate, or the desire to create a world where Islam reigns supreme, and sharia  (Islamic law) is the only law allowed. In order to do this, the population of Muslims must expand greatly, at which time their voices become louder, and they have influence in positions of power. This year, 2018, we are seeing scores of Muslims running for public offices, from Governors to local state representatives. Keep in mind, sharia law is completely antithetical to the Constitution of the United States, with many having already been sworn in with one hand on the Quran.
Several front groups, like the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and their executives, openly encourage members of the Muslim community to refuse to talk to law enforcement if questioned, and demand mosques not be surveilled, even if there is radicalization occurring.
While Muslims have opened and operate large numbers of Islamic schools for their children, they continue to press issues in America’s public schools, demanding accommodations, and tolerance, even in schools run by and attended by Christians and Jews. One of the more dangerous trends is the disproportionate, inaccurate education of children on Islam in schools across the country. Glossing over the truth about who the prophet Muhammad was, is especially alarming since he was a murderous pedophile, but is depicted in textbooks as a good, pious man. All this under the guise of “social studies” for 7th graders.
Finally the faith of millions of Americans is challenged with many attending “interfaith” gatherings where they are told to believe all gods are the same, including allah, which is only arabic for god. Using the Quran as the basis for their lies, suras are recited in part, which gives the appearance to many that Islam is  a peaceful, tolerant religion. What is not discussed during these events, are the Sira ( the prophet Muhammads biography) or the hadiths, his traditions. Even the Reliance of the Traveller, which is the classic book of Islamic law, is never mentioned, as all of these books reveal the truth about non believers, and how inferior we are.
In each case, anyone who questions the actions of Muslims as to their true beliefs and intentions is seen as a bigot, hater or Islamophobe. Muslims in America have portrayed themselves as victims garnering the support of those who blindly believe what they are told rather than questioning or researching for themselves. In this day and age, where even the majority of  the main stream media does not investigate or report the truth, it is easier to go with the flow and not be labeled.
Muslims have chosen to use these labels which has cast a fear over anyone that does speak out to fear losing their job, friends and family members.
In the end, this creates a pitting of Americans against each other, just what enemies of a society do.
More to come..
