This is the kind of lie that has captured many on the left who are too self-absorbed to pay attention to history:

Jihad terror has existed as a means to an end (Islamic conquest and the imposition of Sharia) for 1,400 years, and it is not about to change, no matter what Westerners or anyone does. It is not the first time that the revered Grand Imam of Al-Azhar justified jihad terror as a response to what he and other Islamic supremacists claim are “unjust policies.” After the American Embassy move to Jerusalem, el-Tayyeb said that because of the decision, the East and West will drown in a sea of blood.

Tayyeb is a respected authority in Islam, and in his sermon that justified jihad violence, he “urged preachers to abide by the moderate teachings of Islam in line with what they learned at Azhar” — the world’s most renowned Sunni Islamic learning institution, which functions to “disseminate the upright teachings of Islam.” (Al Azhar also has taught that cannibalism of disbelievers is permissible.)

Tayyeb added that terrorism cannot be a result of Islam or any other religion. He explained that the strategies, techniques and plans of the well-trained extremist and armed groups indicate that “this kind of transcontinental hatred cannot be just a result of religion.”

Tayyeb arrived in Astana on Monday, Oct. 8, as per an invitation from President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Upon his arrival, Tayyeb met with several Kazakhstani officials, including President Nazarbayev.

According to Astana Times, the first Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions took place on Sept. 23-24, 2003. The objectives of the congress are to establish universal guidelines and a permanent platform for international interfaith dialogue.

Eighty-two delegations from 46 countries representing the world’s religions are participating in the conference which kicked off on Wednesday, Oct. 10 and is expected to continue until Thursday, October 11.

Tayyeb led the evening prayer at Hazrat Sultan Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Asia, on Tuesday, Oct. 9. After the prayer, Tayyeb delivered a sermon in which he urged preachers to abide by the moderate teachings of Islam in line with what they learnt at Azhar…..

The government-critical Turkish journalist Can Dündar lives in Germany under police protection since the state visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In Berlin, other critics no longer feel safe. To intimidate them, in the German capital several cars drive around which resemble those of the anti-terror unit “Özel Harekat,” as images in social networks show. The police confirmed, meanwhile, corresponding media reports. At least three of the questionably designed cars have been seen so far.

The vehicles, which resemble those of the Turkish special unit, drive openly since the visit of Erdogan to Berlin, as stated in German media reports. In any case, in the case of Turkish opposition members living in Berlin, the cars would cause concern and anxiety. The sightings are now making headlines not only in Germany, but also in Turkey.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas-based U.S. Pastor Council has filed suit against the City of Austin to challenge the lack of an exemption in its non-discrimination ordinance to accommodate the hiring practices of area churches.

Austin City Code states that “[a]n employer may not fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual, or otherwise discriminate against an individual with respect to compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment, based on the individual’s race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, or disability.”

The U.S. Pastor Council says that the ordinance is problematic for churches, which need to hire—in accordance with Scripture—those who are not living in unrepentant sin, particularly as it pertains to the statute’s mention of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.”

“[T]he ordinance provides no exemptions or accommodations for employers who hold religious objections to homosexuality or transgender behavior,” the lawsuit states. “Every church in Austin that refuses to hire practicing homosexuals as clergy or church employees is violating city law and subject to civil penalties and liability.”


It notes that the Bible has specific moral requirements for church leadership.


“Because these member churches rely on the Bible rather than modern-day cultural fads for religious and moral guidance, they will not hire practicing homosexuals or transgendered people as clergy,” the legal challenge explains, pointing to Romans 1:26–28, 1 Timothy 1:8–11, 1 Corinthians 6:9–11, Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13.


“These member churches … require church employees to live according to the Bible’s teachings on matters of sexuality and gender,” it outlines.


The council also explains that many churches believe that the Bible forbids women from serving as pastors, pointing to 1 Timothy 2:12, which states that women are not to “teach or usurp authority over a man” in the church.


While the Austin City Code provides two exemptions in its nondiscrimination ordinance, it only states that it is lawful for educational institutions and corporations to “hire and employ individuals of a particular religion to perform work connected with the [entity’s] activities,” and does not mention churches and their hiring practices as it pertains to homosexuality and transgenderism.


Therefore, the council argues, the ordinance allows churches to require its leaders to be Christians, but prohibits the same churches from passing up women for pastoral roles, or those engaged in homosexual behavior and transgenderism.


It is requesting that the court declare that Austin churches have a right under the U.S. Constitution and the Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act to hire in accordance with biblical teaching and that it place an injunction against the enforcement of the ordinance until the code is amended to specifically protect churches.

Austin officials have vowed to fight the suit, and attorney Holt Lackey told local television station KXAN that if the legal challenge prevails, it would “undermine the ability of Austin or any other similar city to pass an ordinance saying in this city we don’t accept sexual orientation or gender identity discrimination.”


“The City is proud of our anti-discrimination ordinance and the protections it provides,” a City spokesperson said in a statement. “The ordinance reflects our values and culture respecting the dignity and rights of every individual. We are prepared to vigorously defend the City against this challenge to the City’s civil rights protections.”


Ephesians 5:25-27 says that “Christ … loved the Church, and gave Himself for it, that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious Church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish.”


The late influential preacher Charles Spurgeon also once exhorted, “It will certainly be disastrous for the Church of God if her members should become impure. In these days, we must be doubly strict, lest any looseness of conduct should come in among us. Actual sin must be repressed with a strong hand, but even the appearance of evil must be avoided.”

ALIAGA, Turkey — Andrew Brunson, the American pastor arrested in 2016 after being accused of espionage and having connections to those involved in a failed coup attempt against the Turkish government, is now free to leave the country after a judge sentenced him to time served.

“This is the day our family has been praying for,” Brunson said in a statement released by the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which had been working toward the pastor’s release. “I am delighted to be on my way home to the United States. It’s been an extremely difficult time for our family and we want to express our appreciation to the millions of people around the world who have faithfully prayed for this day.”

As previously reported, Brunson and his wife, Norine, who are from Black Mountain, North Carolina, were detained in October 2016 after being accused of having “membership in an armed terrorist organization,” specifically, the military coup that attempted to overthrow the Turkish government that year. Brunson has pastored Resurrection Church in Izmir for over 20 years.



According to World Watch Monitor, Turkish authorities detained and/or jailed thousands in their efforts to find those behind the operation. While Brunson’s wife was released 12 days after being taken into custody, in December, Brunson was escorted into court, being told that a “secret informant” had accused him of involvement in terrorism.

In September 2017, Brunson was informed via a video conference with a Turkish judge that additional charges had been filed, including espionage, acquiring secret political and military information, seeking to overthrow the Turkish parliament and attempting to change the constitutional order.

Brunson said that he was innocent and asked that proof be provided. He stated that he has been in Turkey for more than two decades to simply tell the people about Jesus and has nothing to hide.

In April, the ACLJ reported that an official indictment handed down against Brunson claimed that the pastor used “Christianization” as a “mask” to engage in “unconventional warfare” against the government.

“The indictment goes on to give accounts from ‘secret witnesses,’ one of whom is code named ‘Dua,’ or ‘Prayer,’ who gives his interpretation of Christianity,” outlined attorney Cece Heil. “Within the roughly 25 pages containing his preposterous allegations, he opines that, ‘In the Christian faith, the beginning of the battle known as Armageddon is mentioned.’ He goes on to say that Protestants believe that President Erdoğan is the antichrist and that American Protestants are ‘counting on being forerunners in the war to come…’”

Heil said that the “secret witness” cited in the indictment stated that the battle will be started by Israel, and that it is a Protestant belief that “all humans are slaves of the sons of Israel and Protestants.”

“Dua’s account makes up almost half of the entire indictment and lacks any substance or evidence to support any of his ridiculous claims,” she explained. “Furthermore, such claims are not only a gross mischaracterization of Christianity, but offensive. Pastor Andrew has spent over 23 years of his life peacefully serving the people of Turkey as a Christian pastor, and should not be imprisoned for simply living out his faith.”

In July, Brunson was placed under house arrest until his trial, scheduled for Oct. 12. Prosecutors initially sought a sentence of 35 years in prison.

“I am an innocent man. I love Jesus. I love Turkey,” Brunson told the court in Aliaga on Friday, expressing bewilderment at the charges that were being brought against him. He particularly noted that one witness who was questioned was speaking of events that were unrelated to the pastor.

According to reports, some witnesses also told the court that their testimony had been misconstrued, and one witness said that she did not even know Brunson.

While Bruson was ultimately convicted of aiding terrorism, the judge, whose name has not been released, sentenced Bruson to three years in prison, but reduced the sentence to time served due to good behavior. He is now free to leave the country.

“Pastor Brunson just released! Will be home soon!” President Trump tweeted Friday morning.

Both Trump and Vice President Pence had called for Bruson’s release, as did U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. In February 2017, nearly 80 members of U.S. Congress signed a letter to Turkish President Recep Erdoğan expressing doubt over the charges filed against the pastor. Brunson’s daughter also spoke before the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva earlier this year to plead for help for her father.

Another triumph of Trump administration diplomacy. The Erdogan regime had hoped to trade Brunson for Fetuhullah Gulen, whom Erdogan has scapegoated as the supposed leader of a coup against him (Gulen and Erdogan are both adherents of political Islam; their rift is personal). Instead, Brunson is coming home.

BREAKING: Brunson will be departing his apartment in Turkey to go to the airport to leave the country. His lawyer, Jay Sekulow, said Brunson will be flown to a U.S. air base in Germany where he will be evaluated and eventually flown back to the United States.

ALIAGA, Turkey — A Turkish court on Friday convicted American pastor Andrew Brunson of aiding terrorism but sentenced him to time served and ordered his immediate release.

The case of the evangelical preacher caught up in Turkey’s post-coup security sweep had garnered attention at the highest levels of the U.S. government and become a sore point in the two countries’ relations.

Within minutes of the verdict, President Trump tweeted, “working very hard on Pastor Brunson.”

“PASTOR BRUNSON JUST RELEASED,” he tweeted later. “WILL BE HOME SOON!”

While Brunson, 50, was convicted on terrorism charges and sentenced to three years in prison, the judge reduced his sentence to two years time served for good behavior. The pastor has been held under house arrest since July, for health reasons, but that arrangement was also ended so he could leave the country.

“The verdict was the best of a bad situation,” Brunson’s defense attorney, Ismail Cem Halavurt, said outside the courthouse in western Turkey.

Of Brunson’s plans to travel to the United States, Halavurt said: “He is going to go.”

“But I hope he is able to come back,” he added. “He is someone who absolutely loves Turkey.”

The cleric, who is from North Carolina, wept and embraced his wife, Norine, as they waited for the judge to issue the ruling Friday.

His trial had resumed Friday in Aliaga, a district roughly 40 miles from his longtime home in the city of Izmir, just hours after U.S. officials said a deal had been reached with Turkish authorities to secure his release.

He headed a small evangelical congregation in Izmir until his detention two years ago.

The pastor has been held since then on what he and the Trump administration said were false terrorism- and espionage-related charges. Prosecutors accused him of being linked both to Kurdish separatists and to the U.S.-based Muslim cleric Turkish authorities say orchestrated a failed coup attempt in 2016….

Brunson, who sat alone in front of a panel of judges and the state prosecutor, was also allowed to speak following each witness’s testimony.

“I never met any PKK fighters,” he said to the judges in Turkish.

In his final statement to the court just before the verdict was issued, Brunson said: “I’m an innocent man. I love Jesus. I love this country,” and broke down in tears.

“H.R. 6729 [the Empowering Financial Institutions to Fight Human Trafficking Act of 2018] is a disguised effort to expand the Patriot Act,” U.S. Representative Justin Amash (R-Mich.) said on Saturday, asserting that the bill is really intended to “conceal the bill’s true purpose: to give the government more power to unconstitutionally spy on law-abiding Americans without a warrant.”

The House passed the bill on Wednesday, 297-124, sending the legislation to the Senate for its consideration.

We’ve been down this road before. A legitimate concern — in this case “human trafficking” — is often used to get Americans to accept a reduction in their constitutional rights and civil liberties, with a corresponding increase in the power of government agencies to intrude upon the privacy of law-abiding American citizens. After the 9/11 attacks, the PATRIOT Act was rushed through Congress, brushing aside questions as to its constitutionality, with the stated purpose of “fighting terrorism.”

The PATRIOT Act was enacted less than two months after the planes hit the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. It gave the U.S. government power to search the telephone, e-mail, and financial records of any American citizen, without a warrant, and the power to search homes and businesses without the consent, or even knowledge, of either the owner or the occupant. And the fact that it was called the patriot act implied that if someone was opposed to the law, the person was somehow unpatriotic.

Finally, in 2015, in what seems like something out of George Orwell’s 1984, the so-called USA Freedom Act was passed to replace the PATRIOT Act. Now, a person opposed to this bill, which, ironically, took away freedom, was now opposed to “freedom” — at least according to the bill’s proponents.

Representative Ann Wagner (R-Mo.) introduced the “human trafficking” bill with the ostensible purpose of fighting human trafficking. But, as the so-called PATRIOT Act gave the federal government enhanced ability to spy on Americans, for the supposed purpose of “fighting” terrorism, this bill, if eventually passed by the Senate and signed into law by the president, will no doubt also be used by law enforcement beyond this promised narrow purpose.

I can well remember my conversation with my own congressman on this subject many years ago, when I expressed my concern to him that some of the provisions of the PATRIOT Act were unconstitutional, and infringed upon the civil liberties of all Americans. He smiled and said that I should not be concerned because we could “trust” then-President George W. Bush to not abuse this increased power. Setting aside that dubious assertion, I told him that Bush would not always be president, and we may not be able to “trust” future presidents.

After all, when the Constitution was adopted, everyone assumed that the first G.W. — George Washington — would become president, and the Framers of the Constitution were not willing to give such power even to the trusted and trustworthy Washington. Perhaps Thomas Jefferson put it best: “In questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the constitution.”

What does Wagner’s bill do? It allows financial institutions, federal regulatory bodies, nonprofit organizations, and law enforcement agencies to share bank records of customers without fear of lawsuits for violating consumer privacy. This infringement is justified on the grounds that would allow these private entities “to better identify and report potential human trafficking or money laundering activities” to law enforcement.

And, as the bill is presently constructed, such sharing does not even need to demonstrate it was done in “good faith.”

The act’s purpose is stated as: “To allow nonprofit organizations to register with the Secretary of the Treasury and share information on activities that may involve human trafficking or money laundering with financial institutions and regulatory authorities, under a safe harbor that offers protections from liability, in order to better identify and report potential human trafficking or money laundering activities.”

Government officials who want more power rarely admit that they want power simply for the sake of having increased power. It is always dressed up for some noble-sounding purpose. Not to compare supporters of the PATRIOT Act with Adolf Hitler, but the German dictator did not say that he was asking for emergency powers so he could be a dictator, but rather to save the country from Communist dictatorship after the Reichstag fire.

So, snooping on American citizens is now all in the name of protecting us from terrorists, human traffickers, and so on. Supporters of unconstitutional measures often say the terrorists hate our freedom. Oddly, the way to preserve our freedom, according to the supporters of bills such as the PATRIOT Act, the USA Freedom Act, and the Empowering Financial Institutions to Fight Human Trafficking Act is to strip us of our freedom.

According to Hillary Clinton, the time for civility is over.

If the last two years of partisan witch-hunts and endless investigations hasn’t already convinced you that Hillary is simply echoing the view of many Democrats, the recent confirmation hearings of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and the accompanying barrage of dirty tricks and character assassination are further proof. The Democrats are sick and tired of being the minority party in the United States Congress. And now they’re taking the gloves off.

“You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” Clinton told CNN. “That’s why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again.”

So, Democrats can only be “civil” when they are in power? Ok, then Mrs. Clinton. But that doesn’t sound like politics. It sounds more like a toddler deprived of a favorite toy.

Nevertheless, the effort to get the legislative gavels back into the hands of Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has intensified over the past few months, as evidenced by foul-mouthed protesters and vicious left-wing mobs in Washington, D.C., and all over the country. And their agenda going forward is equal parts ambition and vindictiveness.

The Democrats are extremely desirous of getting the purse strings of the federal government back. The first three legislative packages they would consider if given legislative majorities involve more dollars for healthcare, more than $1 trillion in federal infrastructure projects, and ethics and lobbying reform. Those first three packages are called the “For the People” campaign, a portion of the larger “A Better Deal” platform.   

Among other things, the “A Better Deal” platform also looks to throw more federal money at the failing educational systems across the country, impose federal regulation on industries, subsidize unions both public and private, and provide universal high-speed Internet.

But with the economy going great guns, unemployment at record lows, and respect (if not love) for America vastly increased worldwide, the fact is that Democrats have little to run on except their hatred of the president and their lust for power — anyway they can get it.

And although they aren’t talking about it much, the impeachment of President Trump is definitely on the Democrat’s radar — whether they have evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors or not.

Should the Democrats win the House, Representative Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), one of Trump’s harshest critics, who has called on constituents to harass members of the Trump administration in public, would likely preside over the Financial Services Committee. Waters and other Democrats have been arguing to use that committee’s subpoena power to access the president’s financial records, which they hope will prove wrongdoing.  

“If there is information that is going to be unveiled about what has been going on in the White House or Donald Trump or the Treasury, it will come out,” Waters told MSNBC.

Just the thought that Waters would hold a gavel in any committee should give you the shivers.

And as evidenced by the Kavanaugh hearings, the judiciary is never far from the minds of Democrats. Many Democrat victories over the past several decades have not been achieved legislatively but through the courts. Abortion, gay marriage, and even the Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCare) were all either gained or supported by Supreme Court opinions.

Although President Trump will, presumably, be in the White House and in charge of judicial appointments until 2020, a Democrat majority in the Senate could block any future appointments. In addition, some Democrats are even backing a plan to increase the number of justices on the court to 11 in an attempt to quickly restore a liberal majority to the court once the presidency returns to the Democrats.

And the 2020 elections are already in the sights of Democrats. Among their presumed candidates are politicians to the left of Karl Marx. Senators Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who behaved so obnoxiously during the Kavanaugh hearings, head the list. Former VP Joe Biden, who has offered to physically fight with Trump, is considering a run, as is large-soda-banning former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who yesterday announced he was changing his party affiliation to Democrat.

Might Hillary also reenter the fray? The smart money says no, but her rhetoric seems to say…maybe.

“So, when you’re dealing with an ideological party that is driven by the lust for power, that is funded by corporate interests who want a government that does its bidding — you can be civil, but you can’t overcome what they intend to do unless you win elections,” Clinton, who wasn’t talking about the Democrats, ironically said.

But Clinton was wrong when she suggested there could be a return to civility once Democrats regain power. Once the Democrats regain power, that’s when the real bloodbath will begin.

If you want to call Tennessee Democrat Senate candidate Phil Bredesen a liar to his face, it appears you may have two faces to choose from. Because his campaign workers were caught on video admitting that Bredesen’s claim that he’d have supported Brett Kavanaugh’s SCOTUS confirmation is untrue — he only said it to fool voters.

The video, a product of a Project Veritas (PV) sting operation, also reveals that Bredesen is trying to conceal his ties to the national Democrat establishment and that the candidate’s underlings have contempt for Tennessee voters. They’re heard on the video (below) calling the state's residents “ignorant.”

As PV writes on the apparent Kavanaugh lie:

Maria Amalla and Will Stewart, staffers in Bredesen’s campaign, both say on hidden camera that if he were in the Senate, Bredesen would not actually have voted to confirm then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh. They explained that the statement Bredesen issued in support of Kavanaugh was a political ploy to gain the support of moderate voters in Tennessee.

JOURNALIST: “Like he wouldn’t really vote yes [for Kavanaugh,] would he?

AMALLA: “No, it’s a political move… He thinks that like we’re down like half a point right now. It’s like really close and we’re losing by a point or two. So he thinks that if like by saying this he’s appealing to more moderate Republicans and he’ll get more of them to vote for us.”

JOURNALIST: “I was so confused because I just can’t believe he would actually vote [for Kavanaugh.]

STEWART: “He wouldn’t. But he’s saying he would… Which I don’t know if it makes it worse or better. No, it makes it better…”

When asked to clarify that Bredesen is only saying he’d vote for Kavanaugh to “get the Republican vote,” Amalla, a field organizer for Bredesen’s campaign, affirmed, “Yes.” Amalla reiterated, “[Bredesen] thought that like by coming out in support [of Justice Kavanaugh] that it would get more Republicans on his side. He wasn’t doing as well in the rural parts.”

Note that NewsChannel5 Network takes issue with the PV video, claiming the Bredesen underlings aren’t paid staffers but “interns,” “volunteers.” Tennessee officials, on the other hand, claim that FEC filings show that the individuals are paid staffers of the state’s Democratic Party.

Whatever the case, this seems like a typical fake-news-media tactic of trying to cast doubt on a story by focusing on one possibly incorrect, but relatively minor detail. The bottom line is that these revelations come from people within the Bredesen campaign.

As for the matter of misleading voters about the candidate’s ties to the national Democrat establishment, PV reports that Stewart and a colleague on the Bredesen campaign, Drew Marshall say:

MARSHALL: “We would scare all the people who would vote for Phil Bredesen, but not [Senate Democratic Leader] Chuck Schumer.”

STEWART: “Yeah, exactly, because there’s a lot of Republicans who are going to vote for [Bredesen…]”

STEWART: “Yeah. And that’s how they’re messaging against us… that he’s gonna be a ‘toe the line’ democrat voter… Because there are people who loved him as Governor but won’t vote for a Democrat for national office.”

Stewart reiterated the Bredesen Campaign’s commitment to appearing moderate for the election, “we’re trying to make it so it’s not about Democrats.” Stewart makes clear Bredesen’s messaging is purely for political optics, saying:

STEWART: “Between you and me once Phil actually gets into the Senate, he’ll be a good Democrat.”

In this vein, Stewart also said of Bredesen, “Oh, yeah. Oh, he hates Trump, like yeah. He’s not going to be running for re-election. He can get in there and do the right thing” [i.e., the leftist thing].

The Bredesen staffers make clear as well that they’ve been instructed not to talk about the “blue wave,” no doubt because this would remind Tennesseans that a vote for their boss is a vote for Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) and the Democrat establishment. Stewart apparently thinks this will work, too, as he at one point was asked if Tennessee voters were ignorant and answered, “Yeah.”

None of this is surprising. The Democrats are now a radical leftist party — defined today not by Zell Miller but socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — with no place for moderates. And the Volunteer State has seen the Bredesen fake before: Al Gore used to masquerade as pro-life when he was a congressman from Tennessee.

Until he sought national Democrat prominence. Then he obediently made the transition to pro-prenatal infanticide.

There’s a lesson for voters here. Regardless of what politicians say while campaigning to woo the electorate, the reality is that they vote with their party 85 to 90 percent of the time on average. Thus, realize that whomever you elect, you’re not voting for that person’s campaign-trail “platform.”

You’re voting for his party’s national platform.

In other words, a vote for Phil Bredesen is a vote for Senator Chuck Schumer, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), and Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

As Duke’s First Rule of Politics goes, in a representative republic, people do not get what they want. They get what they vote for.
