Presbyterian Megachurch ‘Pastor’ Says God Isn’t Male, Denies Exclusivity of Christ

Shannon Johnson Kershner is the impastor of the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago, a 5,500  member megachurch. The church just happens to be the second-largest church belonging to the Presbyterian Church of the United States of America (PCUSA). In a podcast with the Chicago Sun, she recently denied that Jesus is the only way to Heaven.
Known as the “Exclusivity of Christ,” this doctrine teachers that the only means of salvation is through Christ. This is a benchmark doctrine of virtually all Protestant Christian thought, and is enshrined in Reformation theology as Sola Christus. Denying the Exclusivity of Christ is tacitly a form of Universalism or pseudo-Universalism, which teaches that ultimately, everyone (or most) will be saved whether or not they come to Christ for their salvation.
Claiming that she desires to “reform” the church “from the inside out,” Kershner has indeed set about to change historic Christian doctrine.
Kershner begins her reforming of the church by first attacking the doctrine of God, telling the Chicago Sun, that we should get “beyond this idol of maleness that we’ve constructed both for the divine as well as for clergy.” Of course, an idol is a manufactured image, but God does reveal himself as male (although God the Father is spirit and has no flesh, this is how he identifies Himself to us). It’s beyond perverse to refer to a revealed attribute of God as an “idol.”
Why should we view God as female? Well, it’s so that little girls can become pastors, with Kershner saying, ““I wanted to make sure that little girls knew that God could call them to be pastors, too.”
Of course, God does not not little girls – or grown women – to be pastors, and explicitly qualifies pastoral leadership as a male gender role in the pastoral epistles of Timothy and Titus.
Kershner also said, “I really do not overly concern myself with issues of salvation, especially salvation of other folks — that’s God’s job description and not my own.” Of course Paul told Timothy – a pastor – to do the work of an evangelist (2 Timothy 4:5) and proclaiming Good News to the lost is an essential function of the church and of church leadership.
When asked if Jesus was the only way to salvation, Kershner responded, “No, God’s not a Christian. I mean, we are . . . For me, the Christian tradition is the way to understand God and my relationship with the world and other humans . . . But I’m not about to say what God can and cannot do in other ways and with other spiritual experiences.”
Jesus was pretty clear about what God would and wound not do regarding salvation, and affirmed his exclusive means of salvation in places like John 14:6.

Good. I hope they win a massive settlement and drive them all out of business. Each one has been cutting off its platform to foes of jihad terror. In February, referrals from Facebook and Twitter to Jihad Watch dropped by 90% and have never recovered. Google has changed its search results so that when one searches for topics related to Islam and jihad, only results whitewashing Islam’s links to terrorism come up. Meanwhile jihad terrorists, as is clear from this case, have free rein. These monopolies need to be broken up, and the sooner the better, as they are actively working against the freedom of speech.

Jared Tucker, from Walnut Creek, was one of 13 people who died when a van mowed down pedestrians on the Spanish city’s packed La Rambla on August 17.
The three daughters of the 42-year-old, who was celebrating his one year anniversary with wife Heidi Nunes-Tucker in Barcelona when he was killed, have now filed a lawsuit against the tech giants.
According to the New York Post, the complaint claims the firms have ‘for years knowingly and recklessly provided the terrorist group ISIS with accounts to use its social networks as a tool for spreading extremist propaganda, raising funds and attracting new recruits.’…

It’s very likely that those classmates were also adherents of the Religion of Peace. Jews have not had this kind of trouble in France since World War II, until this period of massive Muslim immigration.

A 10-year-old girl was assaulted by her classmates and the home of a family was daubed with racist graffiti in two Paris-area incidents deemed antisemitic.
The alleged assault was reported to France’s ministry of education by the National Bureau for Vigilance Against Antisemitism, or BNVCA, the watchdog group wrote in a statement on its website Tuesday.  Separately, the same group reported that unidentified individuals on Wednesday wrote antisemitic slogans on the side of a home belonging to Jewish family in the eastern suburb of Noisy le Grand.
The mother of the girl who allegedly was assaulted, identified by BNVCA only as Ness, complained to police recently that a group of classmates of her daughter in the public school which she attends in Paris’ 18th district beat her on multiple occasions, often occurring day after day, only because she is Jewish. After one beating, Ness was brought to hospital with a visible contusion to her stomach and ribcage, the report said, requiring 10 days of recovery.
The child will be transferred to a different school, BNVCA wrote.
According to Francis Kalifat, the president of the CRIF federation of Jewish communities of France, antisemitic harassment has made public schools unsafe for Jews, leading to a sharp drop in the number of Jews attending them. In the past, a third of Jewish parents enrolled their children to public schools but now “no one does it,” he told JTA last year.
In the incident involving antisemitic graffiti, BNVCA said it was part of a campaign of intimidation against the family that owns the building targeted.
This time, they wrote “screw the shitty Jews, death to Jews, long live Palestine.” In recent years, the same family found in their mailbox an envelope featuring the words “Allah hu akbar” – Arabic for Allah is the greatest — with 9-milimeter bullets inside. They later received another envelope with a bullet for an AK-47 assault rifle and the words: “The next one is for you.”
The family is afraid to live in their home, wrote BNVCA, which complained to police about the incidents committed against the family and called on authorities to apprehend the culprits….

The Left is working hard to destroy the freedom of speech and silence all those who dissent from the globalist, internationalist, socialist and pro-jihad agenda. Leftist politicians already maneuvered Trump into signing one measure against “hate groups,” when the Southern Poverty Law Center’s manipulative and propagandistic “hate group” list includes legitimate groups along with the KKK and the neo-Nazis, in an attempt to destroy them.
This whole concept of “hate groups” and “hate speech” is contrary to the freedom of speech. If “hate speech” is proscribed by the government, a tyranny will be established in which Leftists can simply outlaw and deny all platforms to those they hate by labeling them in this way. It’s coming, unless enough people wake up in time.

A collection of conservative leaders have written to President Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan expressing “grave concern” about a joint resolution approved by the Senate and House targeting “hate speech.”
Hastily enacted Sept. 14 without public debate, Public Law 115-58, the leaders write, could “lead to unconstitutional suppression of freedom of expression aimed at silencing those smeared by political opponents as, for example, ‘haters,’ ‘racists’ or ‘bigots.’”
“Many of us have been slandered in this fashion, falsely characterized as ‘white supremacists’ or some other, similarly disparaging epithet simply because we support, for example, traditional marriage, civil liberties rather than Sharia, secure borders and the enforcement of our immigration laws and/or effective counterterrorism policies,” they write.
Even worse, they say, the name-calling is “just the leading edge of an aggressive campaign to ruin the financial condition and prevent the widespread dissemination of the work of individuals and groups being targeted for what amounts to unrestricted political warfare.”
The statute “urges the President and his administration to speak out against hate groups that espouse racism, extremism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, and White supremacy and use all resources available to the President and the President’s Cabinet to address the growing prevalence of those hate groups in the United States.”
The letter calls upon the attorney general, the secretary of homeland security and the heads of other federal agencies to engage in such activities as investigating “thoroughly all acts of violence, intimidation, and domestic terrorism by White supremacists, White nationalists, neo-Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan, and associated groups” and to improve “the reporting of hate crimes and to emphasize the importance of the collection, and the reporting to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, of hate crime data by State and local agencies.”
The problem, the leaders say, is that the statute does not define terms such as “hate group,” “white supremacist,” “extremist,” “anti-immigrant” and “xenophobia.”
“These open-ended mandates, they argue, “invite abuses of power by the state.”
Among the signatories are Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy, retired U.S. Navy Admiral James Ace Lyons Jr., Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel, Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch, Brigitte Gabriel of ACT! For America, Joseph Farah of WND.com and DHS whistleblower Philip Haney.
The statute particularly gives legitimacy and power to “self-appointed arbiters of ‘hate,’ such as the discredited Southern Poverty Law Center and others on the radical left and their Islamic allies, the conservative leaders warn….
In their letter, the conservative leaders point to other bills “designed to further advance this agenda and now awaiting consideration may similarly be foisted upon the American people to their grave detriment.”
The bills include:

• “The National Opposition to Hate, Assault, and Threats to Equality Act of 2017” — the “No HATE Act” — which would expand governmental efforts to collect “hate crimes” data and create private rights of action for “crimes motivated by actual or perceived race, color, religion, or national origin.”
• Senate Resolution 118, passed in April, which condemns “any other form of racism, religious or ethnic bias, discrimination, incitement to violence, or animus targeting a minority in the United States.” The conservative leaders contend it cites discredited data about hate crimes to justify intensified federal action to “detect and deter hate crimes to protect minority communities.”
• “The Disarm Hate Act,” House Continuing Resolution 77, urges the president “to prohibit the hiring of individuals … who have supported or encouraged support for White supremacists” and “to use all available resources of the office of the President and the Cabinet to address the growing prevalence of such hate groups domestically.”

The conservative leaders contend the legislative initiatives “share a false narrative, namely that the United States is overwhelmed with large numbers of ‘white supremacists’ and individuals and groups allegedly associated with them who pose a threat to the rights of minorities and other Americans.”
“This narrative is unsupported by the facts,” they write. “More importantly, this narrative is based on the same undefined terms now codified in PL115-58, terms that are used to defame and incapacitate people and organizations like the signatories of this letter simply because they effectively oppose the agenda of those who have made a cottage industry of ‘hate’ and employ it as an instrument of political warfare.”…

Detroit, MI — In a seemingly unprecedented violation of rights, a case out of Detroit, Michigan should worry even the most stringent pro-vaccine advocates. A mother has been sentenced to jail for failing to have her 9-year-old son vaccinated.
While the Free Thought Project has reported on instances of children being denied public services, like school, for not vaccinating their children, the idea that someone is now being thrown in jail for choosing to abstain from vaccination is chilling.
“I would rather sit behind bars standing up for what I believe in, than giving in to something I strongly don’t believe in,” said Rebecca Bredow last week when given the ultimatum—vaccinate your son or go to jail.
On Wednesday, she stood by those words and refused to back down. Judge Karen McDonald then told her she was in violation of the court order to vaccinate her son and she was sentenced to jail.
For refusing to go against her beliefs and vaccinate her son, Bredow will spend the next seven days in a cage.
As the Free Thought Project previously reported, Bredow did not fully abstain from all vaccinations. She is merely choosing to space them out, like lots of parents do.
As WXYZ reports, Rebecca believes in parents having the choice to make the right decision for their children based on the parent’s knowledge of vaccines and the child.
Rebecca told 7 Action News that she and dad made the decision to space out and delay some of their little one’s vaccines.
“It wasn’t until they started grouping them together that I backed off of doing vaccines,” she says.
However, the father, who does not have custody of the children, changed his mind and now wants to vaccinate his children to the fullest extent. Bredow disagrees, but the court has shown that they couldn’t care less about what she thinks—despite Michigan law allowing for vaccine exemption.
Bredow says the court never cared to hear her side of the story, and despite her having custody of the children, the court automatically sided with the father who wants their son vaccinated.
While vaccinating your children is certainly the decision of both parents — the idea of one parent being kidnapped and thrown in a cage for not wanting to vaccinate is the very fabric of tyranny.
“Why automatically side with the father that wants the vaccines? What about my choice as a mother?” says Bredow — and she has a point.
Judge McDonald noted that the boy has two parents and “Dad gets a say.” However, if the roles were reversed, would the father be in a cage right now?
If the court sided with Bredow instead of the father, would the father now be in jail if he vaccinated their child?
Not likely.
“I feel angry. I feel backed into a corner. I feel like my rights as a parent have been taken away,” she said and now she is feeling the wrath of the state.
While there will likely be some folks cheering on the state in this situation, how you feel personally about vaccines should never lead to a loss of freedom. No person should be forced by government regulation or societal pressure to receive any medication or treatment, including vaccines, against his or her will.
Now, in the Land of the Free, the precedent has been set. Parents can and will be thrown in a cage for choosing to not to vaccinate their children.
