Katy Perry has far more influence over young people than hard-working
counter-jihadists do. She, like many other pop stars, wants everybody
to love each other and get along. Most Westerners want the same things.
But Islamic supremacists and jihadists don’t. They want a global
caliphate and will use any means at their disposal to do it, including
stealthily undermining us by means of the “Islamophobia” subterfuge. Most pop stars cannot actually relate to the dangers and carnage of
jihad attacks, notwithstanding their emotional outpourings after such
attacks. They are surrounded by guards and live in near-fortresses, like
Perry’s 19 million dollar gated mansion
in Beverly Hills. She is unlikely ever to know the fear of a jihadi
attack or experience the pain of what the innocent girls suffered in
Manchester Monday night. She would accordingly do well not to speak of
this massacre as if it were a two-sided coin. Only one side does not
want to coexist in love.

Pop megastar Katy Perry made an impassioned plea for
people to “co-exist” and said that “barriers” or “borders” could detract
from that goal in an interview following the terrorist bombing at an
Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, U.K. on Monday night that claimed
the lives of at least 22 people and injured dozens of others.
In an interview Tuesday on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, the
“Chained to the Rhythm” singer suggested that people “unite” following
the tragedy, which occurred as young fans and their parents were leaving
the 21,000-seat arena at around 10:35 p.m. local time.
A suspected suicide bomber, identified as Salman Abedi, detonated
what is believed to be a nail bomb as concert-goers were exiting the
Manchester Arena. The attack took the lives of at least 22 people, many
of them children, and wounded at least 59 more.
Grande has reportedly suspended her tour, tweeting late Monday that the bombing has left her “broken.”

Perry, for her part, said Tuesday that “we’re just all loving on each other and we should just stay loving on each other.”

“Tell everyone, ‘I love you’ today.”
Perry’s preference for no “borders” or “barriers” may come from her
staunch opposition to President Donald Trump, who promised during the
2016 campaign to build a security wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. The
singer was a vocal supporter of former Democratic presidential contender
Hillary Clinton, and previously marched in the anti-Trump Women’s March
on Washington shortly after Trump’s inauguration….

Major media touts a vast chasm between ideologies of the leader of
the free world and the leader of the Catholic world. But in President
Donald Trump's first meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican on
Wednesday, both leaders tempered their differences with rhetoric worthy
of subtle UN diplomats. The pontiff wanted to talk about climate change;
the president wanted to discuss combating terrorism. In the end, they
settled on ambiguous "fundamental values" to "promote human rights,
combat human suffering, and protect religious freedom," as relayed in a
White House press release
immediately following the half-hour private audience. Trump did appear
to score a few Francis points with his pledge of $300 million of U.S.
taxpayer dollars for "anti-famine" foreign aid in countries such as
Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia and Nigeria. Overall, the pope seemed reserved. He returned Trump's effusive
greeting and friendly "It's an honor to meet you" with uncharacteristic
detachment and a rather awkward welcome, prompting one reporter to comment that this somber Francis did not "exude his usual warmth and cheerfulness," and another to remark
that the pontiff looked "for all the world like he'd rather be
literally anywhere else but in that room with that man."Though the Holy

discussions between Trump and the Holy Father as "cordial," Pope
Francis certainly reserved his toothiest grins for First Lady Melania
Trump, who wore a black lace mantilla and long-sleeved black dress, the
traditional garb for women in private audience with the pontiff.
Perhaps Francis' conduct was influenced by the memory of his comments
questioning Trump's Christianity during the presidential campaign, when
he said (from inside the Vatican walls) that anyone who wants to build
walls rather than bridges is "not Christian," referencing Trump's
proposal to combat illegal immigration with a wall along the Mexican
border. Then-candidate Trump, a Presbyterian, countered Francis' attack
as "disgraceful." After the election, Francis compared Trump's victory
to the rise of Nazism in Germany. The two men also disagree on proper
ways to address the environment, poverty, and international relations.
However, a gentler manner accompanied the pope's face-to-face
comments Wednesday as he addressed his pet issues of climate change and
world peace, though Secretary of State Rex Tillerson later told
reporters that "immigration itself did not come up." He said that
instead, Francis presented Trump with a copy of his influential and
controversial encyclical on the environment,
which argues that humans are destroying the earth, and calls radical
environmentalism a moral imperative. Vatican Secretary of State Pietro
Parolin also urged Trump to maintain U.S. commitment to the Paris climate agreement,
despite his campaign promise to pull out of that UN treaty. Tillerson
said the president intends to make a final decision upon his return home
after this nine day, multi-nation tour. Francis also gave Trump copies of his encyclicals Evangelii Gaudium and Amoris Laetitia.
The former denounces market-based capitalism, and the latter has caused
consternation among Catholic Church officials and laity due to what
critics call dangerous ambiguities on hot-button topics of divorce and
homosexuality. The president's gifts to Pope Francis were more tailored to the pontiff's tastes: five custom-bound books written by Martin Luther King, Jr., whom the pope praised
on his visit to the United States in 2015. Trump also gave a piece of
granite from the MLK memorial in Washington, D.C., and a bronze
sculpture that the White House said represents "hope for a peaceful
tomorrow." When Francis presented Trump with a large medallion of an
olive branch and said, "I give this to you so that you can be an
instrument of peace," Trump replied, "We can use peace."
Neither the White House nor the Vatican has issued statements
detailing the private conversation between Francis and Trump, but both
press offices expressed
satisfaction "for the good existing bilateral relations between the
Holy See and the United States of America." When the president left, he
told the pope, "Thank you. I won't forget what you said." Afterwards,
Trump wrote on Twitter: "Honor of a lifetime to meet His Holiness Pope
Francis. I leave the Vatican more determined than ever to pursue PEACE
in our world."
Does this mean that Trump has had a conversion to the socialistic
aims Pope Francis seems to embrace? Probably not. Michele Dunne of the
Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington told Catholic News Service that "while they are likely to differ again in the future, today's meeting poured balm on a wounded relationship."

The Egyptian president, al-Sisi, gave President Trump the
ultimate compliment yesterday. He said, “Mr. President, let me express
our appreciation and respect. Let me say you have a unique personality
that is capable of doing the impossible.” (Can you imagine the angst our American Socialist media is feeling?!)
In watching all the speeches and pomp and ceremony, I was very proud
of our President, and proud for America. For the first time in decades,
I’m seeing foreign dignitaries respect America’s leader, and truly like
him. Maybe it’s just politics, but I don’t think so. Despite all the
hatred spewed by our media, the democrats and the neo-cons, this
President can and will accomplish great things.
It is suffocating living in America where freedom of speech is
oppressed in the name of hatred for our President because he won the
election. The disrespect and sedition fomented by the media, by
Hollywood, by commentators is a sign of the disintegration of decency in
our culture. Is it even possible to get back to the basics of civility
with each other? The societal decay is sadly so very evident, that I
highly doubt it. I’ve even experienced this lack of civility from a
Hillary supporting neighbor we’ve been friends with for 30 years. Egypt and Saudi Arabia
It refreshing to see the president away from home, where he is
treated well. Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi led the way in
confronting Islamic terrorism. He exiled the Muslim Brotherhood and
formed a coalition of Arab nations to confront the extremist elements
promoting violence. King Abdullah III of Jordan joined in 2014; and
that eventually led to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States uniting and
forming an anti-extremism Arab coalition.
In 2015, King Salman of Saudi Arabia took up the cause for peace, and this has resulted in the Arab Islamic American Summit.
On Saturday, the 20th of May, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman
placed the King Abdulaziz al Saud Collar around President Trump’s neck
during a ceremony in the country’s capital. The gold medallion is
considered the kingdom’s highest civilian honor.
Trump received the medal during a ceremony at the Royal Court in
Riyadh shortly after he arrived in Saudi Arabia for his first foreign
trip as president.

first son-in-law came out of Iran when the Shah was still in power, and
they loved him and being westernized. When his parents visited America,
after the Shah had died, if I mentioned Khomeni’s name, they’d
immediately say, “Morte, Morte,” meaning “death.” They hated him.
The President didn’t mince words when he spoke about eliminating
Islamic terrorism and murderous acts against Jews and Christians.
There is still much work to be done. That
means honestly confronting the crisis of Islamic extremism and the
Islamists and Islamic terror of all kinds. We must stop what they’re
doing to inspire, because they do nothing to inspire but kill. Religious
leaders must make this absolutely clear. Barbarism will deliver you no
glory. Piety to evil will bring you no dignity. If you choose the path
of terror, your life will be empty, your life will be brief, and your
soul will be fully condemned. And political leaders must speak out to
affirm the same idea. Heroes don’t kill innocents. They save them.
This is a battle between barbaric
criminals who seek to obliterate human life, and decent people of all
religions who seek to protect it.
This is a battle between Good and Evil.
Unfortunately, Saudi Arabia may well obtain a massive weapons arsenal
and missile defense system in a $110 billion deal pushed by H.R. McMaster, Gary Cohn, and Dina Habib Powell.
Under this arrangement, the Saudis will obtain technology to build
civilian nuclear reactors. President Trump has expressed strong
skepticism of this deal. The Grace of our First Lady Wins Israeli Fans
The very lovely and thoughtful first lady won many fans with her kindness to Nechama Rivlin, President Rivlin’s wife.
Here is the story from my dear friend in Israel:
The most memorable moment from this trip, to me, was that moment at the entrance to the house of President Rivlin.
Nechama Rivlin, President Rivlin’s wife,
welcomed the First Lady Melania Trump at the door. As they were about to
walk inside, Nechama whispered to Melania that she will do her best to
catch up with the walking pace, but she might be a bit slower because of
her medical condition which requires her to use an oxygen tank. Melania
took her hand, looked at her and said, “We’ll walk at any pace you
choose.” And so, they walked, slowly, gracefully and proudly, hand in
hand.
That is the moment I choose to cherish. That silent gesture has neither
any political significance nor any colorful tone to it, but it is
everything.
It is the hope we yearn for when we speak of peace;
It is the kindness we wish to protect when we speak of defeating terror;
It is the dignity we want to teach when we speak of stopping hate;
It is the friendship we pray for when we speak of our unbreakable bond;
In other words, this gesture encompasses everything that is good, kind and human.
The Trumps and Netanyahus
It is quite obvious these two leaders and their wives are very
affectionate friends. Benjamin Netanyahu is a totally different man
than he was with Barack Hussein Obama.
I don’t remember which trip it was that Netanyahu made to the Obama
White House, but I do remember that Obama was rude, offensive,
antagonistic and proper protocol, which we rarely saw from Hussein, was
totally defunct. The former President even made Netanyahu use the rear
entrance to the White House…such poor taste was evident with an ally we
desperately need in the Middle East. I was appalled and embarrassed and
angry at what was done to our ally.
Remember when Netanyahu came to the United States and addressed the joint session of Congress on the danger of the American-Iran deal?
That infuriated Obama. He tried to get that speech cancelled but he
couldn’t because the Speaker of the House is who extends such
invitations. I loved that speech, it was phenomenal and I’m sure
General Flynn can validate Netanyahu’s worries.
Limbaugh reminded us of another horrible slight by Obama to Prime Minister Netanyahu. He told this story:
Obama and Netanyahu and their various
aides were working on something, and abruptly Obama got up and said to
Netanyahu, “I’m leaving. I have to go have dinner with my family. You
stay here. You keep working on this, and I’ll come back afterwards and
see where you are.” The White House was very proud of that. They made
sure that news got out. Disrespecting the prime minister of Israel? That
was a big plus for Obama with his buddies around the world and his
lunatic Democrat base.
Obama
may have felt big when he did this, but he made America small. Now we
have a President who we can once again be proud of as he travels the
globe and represents the United States and her people.
President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
delivered remarks to the media prior to dinner together at the residence
of Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu.
The protocol was one of ease and great friendship, and this is
historic for our country as is the fact that our president was the first
to make a trip to the Western wall, one of the holiest sites in
Judaism.
Netanyahu said he would go with President Trump to the wall, but our
President said he did not want it to be a media event, he wished to pay
respects alone.
Our President also visited the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. This was
a great day for these two countries who are such great allies. President
Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu delivered remarks to the
media prior to dinner together at the residence of Benjamin and Sara
Netanyahu. The Prime Minister’s comments were very interesting.
We want you to know how much we
appreciate the change in American policy on Iran which you enunciated so
clearly, just an hour ago. I want you to know how much we appreciate
your bold decision to act against the use of chemical weapons in Syria,
and I want to tell you how much we appreciate the reassertion of
American leadership in the Middle East….I look forward to working
closely with you to confront the dangers we face together in this
violent and volatile Middle East.
I believe that together we can roll back
Iran’s march of aggression and terror in this region and we can thwart
Iran’s unbridled ambition to become a nuclear weapon state. I also look
forward to working closely with you to advance peace in our region
because you have noted so succinctly that common dangers and turning
former enemies into partners, and that’s where we see something new and potentially something very promising.
It won’t be simple, but for the first
time in many years, and Mr. President, for the first time in my
lifetime, I see a real hope for change, (not the change of former
President Obama). The Arab leaders who you met yesterday could help
change the atmosphere and they could help create the conditions for a
realistic peace. These are all great signs on your historic visit.
It’s a visit that I think has echoed down the ages because the great
Abraham Lincoln is reported to have said that there was no city on earth
that he so much desired to see as Jerusalem. Well, Mr. President,
Donald, there’s no city on earth where you are more welcome than right
here with us in Jerusalem. Welcome to Jerusalem! Welcome to Israel!
Our President and First Lady at Yad Vashem
Yad Vashem is Israel’s official memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. Established in 1953, Yad Vashem is on the western slope of Mount Herzl, also known as the Mount of Remembrance.
It is dedicated to preserving the memory of the dead; honoring Jews who fought against their Nazi oppressors and Gentiles who selflessly aided Jews in need; and researching the phenomenon of the Holocaust in particular and genocide in general, with the aim of avoiding such events in the future. The director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), “former” Communist Party operative Irina Bokova (shown),
is facing what appears to be an internal rebellion among the
controversial UN organ's own staff members. Among other concerns, more
than 150 employees of UNESCO who spoke out portrayed Bokova as an
out-of-control and deeply corrupt official who has been abusing the
organization for her own personal benefit since she got there. And now,
she is apparently working to install a friendly successor — preferably
one loyal to a communist regime — to ensure that her alleged
mismanagement and abuse of power are not exposed. But the truth is
coming out anyway.
In a May 5 letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres,
159 current and former UNESCO staffers said that Bokova must either
resign or be fired from her post. Blasting what they said were Bokova's
many personal and professional failings — not to mention her well-known
background with the mass-murdering Bulgarian Communist Party — the UN
employees also said she must be prevented from continuing to travel
around the globe wasting the organization's scarce resources, “creating
chaos,” and appointing top managers who lack basic skills and
qualifications. If she refuses to resign, “she should be dismissed
immediately by the Governing bodies of UNESCO for major diplomatic and
managerial errors,” said the letter, which was also sent to the prime
minister and president of Bulgaria.
On top of that, the employees called for internal and external
investigations of Bokova and dozens of her “collaborators.” “Taxpayers
deserve to know where and how UNESCO money was used over the last 4
years,” explained the letter to UN chief Guterres, who sources say has
received it. “We therefore appeal to the UNSG, to the internal and to
the external UNESCO auditors for a rapid investigation of Bokova's
decisions on using UNESCO funds over that period. The findings must be
made public, then discussed by the Executive Board in order to trigger
off the accountability and impeachment procedure.” The signatories also
pointed to comments made by government ambassadors to UNESCO, including
Arab and European officials, highlighting problems at the UN agency.
The document, which was obtained by The New American and verified by sources inside the organization, also praised the current UN chief, a leading socialist, who triumphed over Bokova in the race to lead the UN. As this magazine reported, Bokova was being pushed by a wide array of powerful forces, ranging from the Kremlin and the Bulgarian Communist establishment to mega-banker Baron Eric de Rothschild of the unfathomably wealthy Rothschild banking dynasty. In the end, though, with her well-documented communist past and swirling accusations of corruption and scandal, even the army of former operatives for the Bulgarian “little KGB” that ran her campaign was unable to build enough support for her failed bid.
UNESCO employees were obviously pleased with that. “Under the
leadership of one of the contesters for the UNSG position, the former
communist regime activist Ms. Irina Bokova, who luckily for the entire
world did not get the job, our wonderful and deeply cherished
Organization is totally agonizing,” they wrote. “Ms. Bokova is a
disastrous Director-General, a mean human being and we are all happy
that you won over her. After destroying UNESCO, she could have been in a
position to dismantle the UN. The diplomatic battle over the UNSG
position exposed the UNESCO Director General and transparently
demonstrated her managerial ineptitude and total lack of moral values to
lead UNESCO.”
Among the many criticisms of Bokova outlined by the outraged UN
agency staffers was her enabling of an anti-Israel resolution
downplaying the Jewish people's links to the Temple Mount, the Western
Wall, and other religious sites in Jerusalem. “By her absence from the
usual diplomatic process organized inside UNESCO that all previous
Directors Generals led themselves, by her time spent on campaigning
instead of working at UNESCO, by her interest directed only towards her
personal ambition, she greatly contributed to this outcome that
legitimately raises Israel's and U.S. ire,” they wrote. “The Russian
'Red Princess' is the only DG that proved capable to rile up
simultaneously both Arab countries and Israel and its supporters.”
Also sparking outrage among agency staffers was Bokova's personal
role in admitting the “State of Palestine” to the UN agency as a
full-fledged member state, an act that immediately triggered a statutory
ban on U.S. funding of UNESCO. That blow resulted in a loss of about a
fourth of UNESCO's budget. Next, in an apparent effort to please the
mass-murdering Communist Chinese dictatorship — which held a key vote on
the UN Security Council as she was seeking the UN's top job — Bokova
alienated the Japanese government, another one of UNESCO's top
financiers. According to the letter, Bokova's antics have resulted in
governments refusing to hand over some $750 million that they otherwise
would have paid to UNESCO.
Bokova's use and abuse of UNESCO resources to pursue her own
ambitions — namely, the highest UN post — also came under fire from
staffers. They noted that in seeking the appointment, she named UNESCO
deputies from four of the five permanent members of the Security Council
“in total disregard for normal practices and with no consideration for
qualifications and competences.” They also accused Bokova of “stealing
funds” from programs aimed at promoting girls' education, the safety of
journalists, and free speech so she could travel around the world
campaigning for the position of UN secretary-general. In all, they said,
more than $3 million were “effectively stolen” from priority UNESCO
activities. “Only for that proven deed she should be asked to resign
immediately,” they said.
Along with that, she “enhanced bad practices within the organization
such as corruption and traffic of influence,” the staffers and their
representatives wrote. “Bokova is neither respected nor appreciated by
UNESCO's staff who considers her unfair, unreliable and selfish,” the
more than 150 current and former UNESCO employees, under the banner of
“Save UNESCO,” said in the letter. “Also, using the private jets of
presidents for her travels is not passive but active corruption.” Other
examples of malfeasance highlighted in the document include Bokova's
refusal to disclose her financial declaration as other UN high officials
do, preventing UNESCO's Ethics Office from investigating her financial
situation, lying on her CV to inflate her credentials, and more.
In an exclusive story published in January, this magazine reported
on insiders within the organization trying to blow the whistle on
widespread internal corruption, nepotism, and more. Multiple
governments, including many of UNESCO's top donors, were fleeing the
organization, with several, including the United Kingdom, issuing
scathing criticism of UNESCO and its leadership. Officials with UNESCO
called for an investigation by an external auditor to sort out the
facts. The Bulgarian watchdog group Bivol conducted an investigation and
found that Bokova's luxury properties across multiple countries could
not be accounted for with her taxpayer-funded salary, even when adding
in her husband's tax-funded salary.
On her way out the door, though, with her term ending later this year, UNESCO sources told The New American
at the time that Chinese Communist agent Qian Tang, who leads UNESCO’s
“education sector,” was seen as a good candidate for the job by Bokova.
He is now among the finalists, along with a number of candidates from
communist and Islamic governments such as Vietnam, Qatar, Egypt,
Azerbaijan, and Iraq. Bokova is known to be close to the strongman
ruling Azerbaijan, which has attracted scrutiny from members of the U.S.
Congress. There is also said to be an effort to pack the agency's
leadership — the top job, the executive board, and the president of the
general conference — with Islamic officials. Either way, the goal is to
ensure that no serious investigations occur after she leaves office.
A well-informed senior UNESCO official who requested anonymity to speak freely — after all, the UN has a long and sordid history of persecuting whistleblowers
— outlined the plot. “Bokova is desperately trying to push for a
successor from a friendly country [government],” the source told The New American
in an interview. “At least three of the candidates — Egypt,
Azerbaijan, and China — and possibly Vietnam, are said to have been
thrown in the game by Bokova in order to get a successor who would not
touch her dirt. Promises have been made to all those candidates. So she
is playing these people, too, and in full knowledge that they are not
suitable for the post she is nonetheless pushing for their candidacies.

Following the Manchester bombing that just rocked the UK, BBC
host Katty Kay said that Europeans have to get used to more Islamic
terror attacks.
Speaking on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on
Tuesday, Kay said that Europeans have no choice but to accept terrorists
murdering their children because it’s impossible to get rid of Islamic
terrorism.
“Europe is getting used to attacks like this, Mika.
They have to, because we are never going to be able to totally wipe this
out,” Kay said. “As ISIS gets squeezed in Syria and Iraq, we’re going
to see more of these kinds of attacks taking place in Europe and Europe
is starting to get used to that.”
Kay then said that nobody is “used to having children targeted,”
suggesting that Europeans are more acclimated to adults being killed by
terror attacks.
Kay isn’t the only person to tell people to get used to terror attacks rather than offer a solution.
London’s own mayor Sadiq Khan has said that Islamic terror attacks are “part and parcel of living in a big city” following the Manhattan bombing last September.
“That
means being vigilant, having a police force that is in touch with
communities, it means the security services being ready, but it also
means exchanging ideas and best practice,” Khan said.
Interestingly, the 23-year-old terrorist, identified as Salman Abedi, was known to authorities before he committed the attack, reported CBS.
There
are over 3,000 potential terrorists that have been monitored in the UK
since 2015, including about 400 ISIS-trained fighters that have returned
from war zones in Syria and Iraq, according to British security services.
So
far, 22 people, including children, were killed and over 50 injured
when Abedi blew himself up at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester,
England attended by 21,000 people.
ISIS responded to the attack
with a slightly inaccurate statement, saying that a “caliphate soldier
managed to place a number of devices among a gathering of crusaders in
Manchester, and detonated them,” when only one explosion took place
according to officials, indicating that Abedi could be a “lone wolf”
jihadist.
