The Missouri legislature overrode Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon’s veto of permitless gun carry on Wednesday, making it the 11th state to adopt the policy.
Missouri legislators bypassed the governor’s wishes and instituted the new gun-friendly lawby a vote of 112-41 in the House of Representatives and 24-6 in the Senate. Under the law, anyone over 21 who can legally own a firearm may now legally carry a firearm. The move continues a nationwide trend towards what activists call “constitutional carry.”
From the nation’s founding through 2002 Vermont was the only state that didn’t require a state-issued permit to carry a firearm. Alaska became the second state to adopt the policy in 2003. Over the last six years another nine states have followed suit, making it the hottest trend in state-level gun policy.
Some Democrats, such as the Missouri governor, have decried the move as unsafe.
“As governor, I have signed bills to expand the rights of law-abiding Missourians to carry concealed and am always willing to consider ways to further improve our … process,” Nixon said after vetoing the legislation in June. “But I cannot support the extreme step of throwing out that process entirely, eliminating sensible protections like background checks and training requirements, and taking away the ability of sheriffs to protect their communities.”
Gun rights advocates, on the other hand, celebrated their victory.
“This is a great day for freedom in Missouri,” Chris Cox, head of the NRA’s lobbying arm, said. “The legislature stood strong for the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens by overriding Gov. Nixon’s misguided veto. Despite the best efforts of Michael Bloomberg and out-of-state gun control groups to defeat the override vote, their agenda was rejected.”

The Missouri House and Senate voted to override Democrat Governor Jay Nixon’s veto of Senate Bill 656 yesterday, making Missouri the 11th state to reassert the right of citizens to carry a firearm for self-defense without a permission slip from the government. The votes to institute so-called “constitutional carry” were not even close.
Missouri lawmakers have overridden a veto of a wide-ranging guns bill that will let more people carry concealed weapons and give them greater legal rights to defend themselves.
The Republican-led Legislature enacted the law Wednesday by a 24-6 Senate vote and a 112-41 vote in the House. Both exceeded the two-thirds majority needed to override the veto of Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon.
The legislation will allow most people to carry concealed guns without needing a permit. That means they won’t have to go through the training currently required for permit holders. Missouri will join 10 other states with what supporters describe as a “constitutional carry” right.
In addition to reasserting the right of citizens to carry arms for self-defense without a permit, SB 656 also provided more legal protections for citizens forced to use firearms to defend themselves and loved ones both inside the home and outside the home.
The National Rifle Association celebrated the veto override with a public statement:
The National Rifle Association today applauded the Missouri Legislature’s veto override of Senate Bill 656, common sense self-defense legislation that was vetoed by Governor Nixon in June. This bill will improve the ability of law-abiding gun owners to exercise their Second Amendment rights.
“This is a great day for freedom in Missouri. The legislature stood strong for the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens by overriding Gov. Nixon’s misguided veto,” said Chris W. Cox, Executive Director of NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action. “Despite the best efforts of Michael Bloomberg and out-of-state gun control groups to defeat the override vote, their agenda was rejected.”
Senate Bill 656 will allow anyone legally allowed to possess a firearm to carry that firearm, while also maintaining the current permit system. In addition, the bill:
  • Expands Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground protections
  • Adds additional permit options to include extended and lifetime permits
  • Specifies that with the exception of credit card fees, no additional fee beyond $100 may be charged to process concealed carry permits
  • Allows members of the military extra time to renew their permits
Michael Bloomberg’s gun control vanity project Moms Demand Action responded to this application of liberty with the sort of blistering dishonesty we’ve come to expect from them:
The Missouri chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today released the following statement condemning Missouri lawmakers for kowtowing to the gun lobby and ignoring Missouri voters by voting to override Governor Nixon’s veto of SB 656, a dangerous gun bill that dismantles Missouri’s concealed carry permit requirement and lets people—including some violent criminals, certain repeat drug offenders, and people with no firearms safety training— carry hidden, loaded handguns in public. SB 656 also upends traditional Missouri self-defense law and allows people to shoot to kill in public places, even when they can clearly and safely walk away from the danger. The bill makes Missouri the first new Stand Your Ground state since Trayvon Martin’s death.
The claims from Moms Demand, are, of course, an outright lie. Violent felons and drug addicts are prohibited under both state and federal law from the possession of firearms.
Moms Demand is also unashamedly and intentionally lying when they claim that people can “shoot to kill… even when they can clearly and safely walk away from the danger.” People may only use a firearm in self defense when there is an immediate, proximate, and credible threat. You cannot simply shoot someone if you can “clearly and safely walk away.”
It’s amusing that Moms Demand is still attempting to push the abject lie that “stand your ground” laws played any role whatsoever in the self-defense shooting of street-fighting criminal Trayvon Martin. George Zimmerman’s defense was traditional, conventional self-defense. Florida’s “stand your ground” laws were not applicable to the incident, and were not mentioned at all in the trial by either the prosecution or the defense. The only time the words “stand your ground” were mentioned at all in the trial was when the jury was read boilerplate instructions that are read in all homicide trials before the jury begins deliberations.
“Stand your ground” laws have been disproportionately used by minorities in self-defense cases. It is disturbing that Moms Demand Action—a group fronted by a rich white woman and bankrolled by an even richer white man—seems to be against people of color having the right to lawful self-defense.
Missouri’s passage of SB 656 is the fourth passage of a “constitutional carry” law just this year, with  Idaho, Mississippi, and West Virginia preceding the “Show Me” state, showing that support for gun rights is rapidly expanding, even as anti-gun Democrats risk electoral suicide by running against the will of the voters.

In an open letter to members of the United Nations Security Council, victims and political prisoners of the brutal communist regime that enslaved Bulgaria blasted Bulgarian communist and UN Secretary-General candidate Irina Bokova (shown). In addition to highlighting Bokova's troubling communist background, the Bulgarian victims of communism also criticized a self-styled group of “Bulgarian intellectuals” who endorsed Bokova's “preposterous candidacy.” Among other concerns, the victims noted that almost all of the signatories on the endorsement letter were members of the Bulgarian Communist Party “and actively participated in all actions of the repressive Communist regime.”
So far, despite receiving copies of the letter, the Western media has remained suspiciously silent on the facts amid the ongoing race to select the next UN chief. Faktor.bg and other indpendent Bulgarian media outlets have picked up the story, though. Many establishment media organs in the West have actually allowed their pages to be used by Bokova propagandists and PR operatives to promote her as the “front runner” for the top UN post. Despite that powerful support, though, multiple reports in recent days suggest Bokova's candidacy may be on the verge of imploding, as Bulgarian authorities are said to be considering withdrawing her nomination. Another Bulgarian without Bokova's communist baggage — not to mention the corruption scandals surrounding Bokova raised by investigators at watchdog Bivol — is reportedly being considered.    
The story on the latest open letter traces back to an earlier letter endorsing Bokova that was sent to UN Security Council delegations last month. The document was signed by what appeared to be, at least at first glance, an impressive array of 57 “Bulgarian intellectuals.” However, it quickly emerged that almost every single one of those signatories was intimately linked to the communist “People's Republic of Bulgaria.” According to estimates by Professor R.J. Rummel of the University of Hawaii in his book Statistics of Democide: Democide and Mass Murder Since 1900, the Bulgarian regime murdered some 222,000 victims. The population of Bulgaria today is about seven million.
After serving as an enthusiastic youth member of the Bulgarian Communist Party, Bokova later became an adult member and even served in various senior capacities within the brutal dictatorship. As a pampered child of the ruling communist elite, Bokova was able to study in Moscow at the Soviet regime’s “prestigious” State Institute of International Relations, which trained future diplomats for international communism under the control of the KGB. Bokova's father was a leading communist bigwig in Bulgaria, even serving as editor-in-chief of the Communist Party's propaganda organ. Bulgarian critics have compared him to Germany's Joseph Goebbels.
Victims of Bulgaria's communist regime, which tortured, murdered, and brutalized its critics, were outraged by Bokova's nomination and by the letter endorsing her and purporting to speak on behalf of Bulgarians. “We strongly object to that endorsement,” wrote the victims. “We were political prisoners under the communist regime, we are citizens of Bulgaria of all ages, occupations and backgrounds, and we do not support Irina Bokova for Secretary-General of UN. An endorsement by 57 self-appointed mouthpieces of the ‘nation’ is offensive to the majority of Bulgarian people who never supported Irina Bokova’s country nomination.”
In a devastating blow to the credibility of the endorsement letter she received from “intellectuals,” the former political prisoners broke down the numbers. Among other revelations, the open letter noted that “95 percent of the 57 signatories were devout members of the Bulgarian Communist Party and actively participated in all actions of the repressive Communist regime.” Those actions included the murder of tens of thousands of innocent Bulgarians, and the imprisonment of hundreds of thousands in prisons and forced-labor camps, “where many died of torture and the inhuman conditions,” the victims said. Despite the fact that the communists remain extremely influential in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Parliament has even officially declared the former communist regime to be criminal.
Breaking down the roster of pro-Bokova signatories further, the open letter, citing official records from the “Committee for disclosing the documents of the former State Security of Bulgaria,” noted that the signers of the first letter “belong to deeply rooted persisting structures of the former communist elite.” Many of them were part of former communist dictator Todor Zhivkov's inner circle, the victims observed. And like Bokova's UN campaign team, an “astonishing number” of the signatories were agents and employees of the communist “State Security” and intelligence services often referred to as the “little KGB.”
“Six out of the first twelve signatories were agents of the State Security agency,” the letter states. “Nine members of the Academy of Sciences signed the letter — five are former State Security agents. Eight diplomats signed — five are former State Security agents, including international spies and recruiters of Western citizens and politicians. Six journalists signed — three are former State Security agents.” As The New American reported in March, Bokova's campaign team is also led and dominated by former agents of the “little KGB,” as revealed in official records and reported widely in Bulgarian media outlets. Even her latest husband is a “former” agent of the ruthless State Security apparatus.
“In addition, organizations quoted in the letter are creations of former high-level communists and State Security agency members,” the Bulgarian victims of communism continued. “This certainly is the case of the ‘Bulgarian Diplomatic Society’ and the ‘National Association for International Relations.’ Such establishments assist the mimicry of the former communist elite and help it to perpetuate its political, social and financial influence. Chairman of the Governing Board of the ‘Bulgarian Diplomatic Society’ is Irina Bokova’s brother, Mr. Filip Bokov, a diplomat and a politician notorious for his association with all chameleonic reincarnations of the Communist Party since 1990.”
As if to add insult to injury, the 57 signatories chose a historic day for their letter endorsing communist Bokova. “In a gesture of profound disregard for the victims of the Communist regime the 57 ‘intellectuals’ signed their letter on August 23 — the date of the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Totalitarian Regimes,” the open letter to Security Council permanent representatives explained. “This is a perfect example of the cynical arrogance and sense of impunity of the unreformed political milieu to which Irina Bokova belongs. We cannot and will never be represented by them.”
The open letter also blasted the fact that the “former” communist elite retains so much influence in Bulgaria. “It angers and shames us that, 27 years after the people of Bulgaria started their journey towards democracy, our country should be represented at the highest international level only by the clinging elite of the collapsed criminal, totalitarian Communist regime,” they wrote. “We believe that this is not what the world deserves, and that you will never allow this to happen!” So far, straw polls at the UN Security Council have seen Bokova place tied for third place in her best run.  
Numerous leading Bulgarians who were victims of the savage communist regime signed the open letter. Among them is former political prisoner Dr. Andrey Naydenov, who signed on behalf of the National Union of the Repressed by Communism in Bulgaria, where he now serves as chairman. Also signing was former political prisoner Peter Bojadziev, on behalf of the group of former political prisoners known as Bulgarian European Memory, where he serves as president. The group's vice-president Alfredo Foscolo, also signed. He was sentenced to 27 years in a sham communist “trial,” including 15 years in solitary confinement. Member of Parliament Metody Andreev, who served as chairman of the Committee for disclosing the documents of the former State Security of Bulgaria, signed as well. Numerous other Bulgarian victims of the communist regime signed, too, including at least one who is now living in the United States.
In a revelation likely to infuriate the UN Security Council's Islamic member governments, the victims who signed the open letter also blew the whistle on anti-Muslim atrocities perpetrated by the communist Bulgarian regime right up until its end. Two signatories of the pro-Bokova letter served as “chief apologists” for the “revival process” in the 1980s, while Bokova was a high-ranking official in the regime. “In this Moscow-governed process of forced ethnic assimilation the Bulgarian Muslim minority (consisting of 900,000 ethnic Turks, Roma Muslims and Bulgarian converts to Islam) its members were brutally made to change their Turkish or Arabic names to Bulgarian ones, to abandon their language and to renounce their identity,” the letter explained.
Hundreds of thousands were forced into Turkey as part of a “forced and tragic exodus,” the letter continued. “Among the signatories is also the man who was Prosecutor General of Bulgaria in 1987-89, the worst years of the ‘Revival Process,’” the signatories continued, adding that he was responsible for sending hundreds of Bulgarian Muslims to savage prisons and prison camps for refusing to change their names. “The ‘Revival Process’ and its gross violations of human rights caused international outcry and was condemned by a number of international organizations, including the United Nations.” Many Christians also faced bloody persecution.
Throughout those brutal efforts, Bokova and the 57 signatories who endorsed her UN candidacy either worked for, or with, the savage communist regime responsible for the atrocities. “To this day Mrs. Bokova’s supporters and she herself have not expressed any regret or made an apology for the victims of that process, or of the Communist regime,” the open letter noted. “Irina Bokova has never condemned the ‘Revival Process,’ she has been completely silent on the tragic events that took place during that period, and she never offered any public explanation for her silence on the issue.” Bokova and company also openly supported the murderous Serbian communist Slobodan Milosevic while he was slaughtering victims, the letter observed.
As outrage in Bulgaria and around the world continues to grow over Bokova's scandal-plagued candidacy, various Eastern European governments and Bulgarian authorities are reportedly considering withdrawing her nomination. U.K. authorities are even said to be considering a veto of Bokova's candidacy. Apparently, though, Russia's Vladimir Putin and other powerful forces, including mega-wealthy international “bankster” Baron Eric de Rothschild, are still working behind the scenes to see their favored candidate nominated. But as awareness spreads, opposition is growing too, including outside of Bulgaria where the facts about Bokova are well known to the public.  
Already, under Bokova's controversial leadership, the UN's “education” and “cultural” agency UNESCO has lost all U.S. taxpayer funding. If nothing else, a successful Bokova candidacy to lead the UN could add more fuel to growing "Amexit" efforts to get the United States out of the UN entirely.

Yet another top military leader for the Islamic State, or ISIS, was exposed as having been trained by the U.S. government — this one as recently as 2014 and on American soil, according to media reports confirmed as accurate by the U.S. State Department. The ISIS military leader also said in a video that he was secretly trained in Russia.
The terror leader in question, Colonel Gulmurod Khalimov (shown), who is originally of Tajikistan, is the new “minister of war” for ISIS, according to Iraq News and other sources. He took over ISIS forces after the previous U.S. government-trained ISIS military chief, Tarkhan Batirashvili (a.k.a. Abu Omar al Shishani), was reportedly killed.
U.S. authorities said Khalimov, the 41-year-old new ISIS military chief, received “appropriate vetting” prior to his advanced military and terror training by the U.S. State Department, including during the terms of Hillary Clinton and John Kerry. The former Tajik official's involvement with ISIS apears to have been first reported by CNN last year, before he became “minister of war” for the terror group.
Critics said the latest revelations highlight major problems with U.S. foreign policy, as well as serious questions about the Obama administration's supposed “vetting” capabilities. Indeed, for generations, the U.S. government has been caught variously arming and training mass-murdering dictators, terrorist groups, and other unsavory forces — often with tragic results.
The new ISIS military commander began his U.S. government training in 2003 and continued for more than a decade, according to the U.S. State Department. It was not immediately clear when exactly his training in Russia took place, or who exactly was behind it. Before joining ISIS, Khalimov served as special forces commander for the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan's brutal regime.
Tajikistan is and has been since the early 1990s ruled by a brutal communist-minded dictatorship led by Emomali Rahmon, the ruthless former chairman of the “Supreme Soviet” of the ostensibly defunct Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic. Why the U.S. government was training the totalitarian regime's “security” forces was not immediately clear, nor was the supposed source of authority for doing so, though the public justification was, ironically, “terrorism.”  
In a statement, the State Department confirmed its role in training the new ISIS military chief. “From 2003-2014 Colonel Khalimov participated in five counter-terrorism training courses in the United States and in Tajikistan, through the Department of State's Diplomatic Security/Anti-Terrorism Assistance program,” spokesperson Pooja Jhunjhunwala explained. “All appropriate Leahy vetting was undertaken in advance of this training.” The “Leahy” vetting refers to a law sponsored by Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) that prohibits U.S. training for military units that violate human rights with impunity.
Despite some apparent disagreements with the Kremlin, at least as a show put on for Western authorities, the Tajik regime and its armed forces have long been very close to Moscow. Indeed, as of 2002, the authoritarian government has been a member of the Kremlin-led “Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO),” a formal military alliance that includes other communist dictatorships and “former” Soviet states. As stated previously, Khalimov boasted on a widely circulated ISIS propaganda video of having received military training in Russia, too.
According to the U.S. State Department, the U.S. federal program through which Khalimov was trained is intended to help foreign governments and regimes learn the latest “counter-terrorism” tactics. The ostensible purpose is for those foreign governments and dictatorships to be able to more effectively battle terror groups and militants such as al Qaeda and ISIS.
Khalimov reportedly received U.S. government training in “crisis response, tactical management of special events, tactical leadership training and related issues,” according to a State Department official cited by CNN. In a video posted online, Khalimov bragged about how effective the training he received from Washington, D.C., would be in butchering Americans.
“Listen, you American pigs: I've been to America three times. I saw how you train soldiers to kill Muslims,” the terror leader explains in Russian as part of the 10-minute video, which also includes footage of him using a sniper rifle to blow up a tomato from about 25 yards away. “You taught your soldiers how to surround and attack, in order to exterminate Islam and Muslims.... God willing, we will find your towns, we will come to your homes, and we will kill you.”
CNN interviewed former military officials warning that, with his U.S. training, Khalimov would be very familiar with counter-terrorism tactics, protection of VIPs, and more. For U.S. troops illegally deployed to the region by Obama without a declaration of war, American and Western diplomatic personnel, persecuted Middle Eastern Christians facing genocide, and others, that knowledge and skill provided by the U.S. government could have deadly consequences.
Following his promotion to ISIS military chief, as reported by numerous media outlets around the world, the U.S. State Department has now reportedly placed a $3 million bounty on Khalimov's head. An international arrest warrant has also been issued by the regime in Tajikistan.
But the story gets even more outrageous. The U.S. government-trained Khalimov is actually replacing another ISIS military chief who, like his successor, was also trained by the U.S. government. As The New American reported last year, Abu Omar al Shishani, a fighter from Chechnya, was trained by U.S. Special Forces in the nation of Georgia before joining ISIS and eventually becoming a top military leader before being reportedly killed.    
“We trained him well, and we had lots of help from America,” an unidentified former Georgian defense official told the McClatchy news agency, which first broke the explosive story. Separately, a former military comrade of the Shishani described him as a “perfect solider” and a “star.”  
Another member of the Obama administration’s supposed “anti-ISIS” coalition, the Wahhabi-Islamic dictatorship in Saudi Arabia, which like ISIS also beheads apostates, played a key role radicalizing the jihadist leader through a hard-core Islamist mosque it funded near his village. Top U.S. officials later confirmed that Islamic dictatorships in the gulf were funding and arming ISIS directly, too.  
In other words, without the direct assistance of key “anti-ISIS” governments — including Washington, D.C. — the men reputed to be ISIS's most fearsome and skilled military leaders would almost certainly never have arrived in Syria to wage war on infidels in the first place. Indeed, as explosive evidence and news reports continue to emerge, it is becoming increasingly difficult to tell where ISIS begins and the globalist establishment ends.
As The New American reported last year, for instance, an official U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency document from 2012 exposed the fact that the Obama administration and its allies were supporting the jihadist uprising in Syria — even though they admitted to knowing that it was led by al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. One of the key goals was simple, if horrifying: the creation of a fundamentalist Islamic State in Eastern Syria, referred to as a “salafist principality” in the document but today known as ISIS. Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton received the document in 2012, as GOP contender Donald Trump noted when he blasted Obama and Hillary as co-founders of ISIS.  
Even before that smoking-gun document emerged in a lawsuit by Judicial Watch, Vice President Joe Biden, speaking at Harvard, had admitted that Obama's “anti-ISIS” coalition funded and armed various terrorist groups in Syria that went on to become ISIS. Later, U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin Dempsey revealed in Senate testimony that Sunni Arab dictators in Obama's “anti-ISIS” coalition were not just supporting ISIS — they were funding it.
More recently, former Pentagon intelligence chief Michael Flynn dropped a bombshell during a TV interview. While distancing himself from the illegal policies, among other concerns, Flynn blasted the White House's "willful" support to Islamic terrorists in Syria, including many on the official U.S. government terror list.  
Similar scheming and support by the Obama administration for designated terror groups occurred in Libya, too. Beyond supporting Islamic terrorists, Obama has been showering money and weapons on communist terror groups in Syria and Iraq that are also on the U.S. State Department's listed of designated terrorist organizations. Practically every faction fighting in Syria has benefited from support illegally provided by the Obama administration, including Iraqi allies of Syrian dictator Bashar al Assad.  
Of course, federal terror laws do not provide exceptions for government officials. It is time for administration officials involved in the lawlessness to be held accountable.   
At the very least, the latest example of a U.S.-trained killer for a dictatorship becoming a U.S.-trained killer for a terror group illustrates the utter stupidity of what passes for “foreign policy” in Washington, D.C. At worst, it is still more evidence of the fact that there is much more to ISIS and other terror groups than the establishment media and the White House would like Americans to know. Either way, Congress must hold the executive branch accountable.

Who hates the Scriptures more than the church of Rome? The Roman Catholic Church has perverted the Grace of God, twisted His Word, and blasphemed His name more than any other religious system in the world. They are the counterfeit version of Christianity, masquerading as the final authority in Christendom while neglecting the very teachings of Christ.



Those teachings of Christ we have today are found only in the Apostolic writings that we have collected in what we call the Bible. The Bible is the true believer’s final authority on all matters of faith and morals. This is known as the doctrine of Sola Scripture–a doctrine that the Roman Catholic Church wholly rejects.



The Roman Catholic Church holds to a damning doctrine of salvation by works. That is, they reject the biblical teaching that Christ’s sacrifice is completely sufficient to save and that it requires the supplementation of the sacraments through the Church. Yet, the Bible clearly teaches that we are saved not of our own doings, but by grace alone and that any good works we do are a result of our salvation, not the cause.



For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. – Ephesians 



Franklin Graham, son of the great Catholic compromiser, Billy Graham, wants the Roman Catholic Church to “remain unmovable” on biblical teachings.



“I appreciate the Catholic Church remaining very strong on moral issues through the years, and I pray they will be immovable on teachings of the Bible,” he posted on Facebook recently.



Does Franklin Graham really believe that the Roman Catholic Church has been faithful to God’s Word? Simply because they happen to fall on the right side of certain moral issues doesn’t mean we can stand with them as believers in Christ. The Roman Catholic Church does not have Christ. And if you do not have Christ, then your “good works” are nothing more than filthy rags in the eyes of a Holy God(Isaiah 64:6). Further, you cannot stand clothed in the righteousness of Jesus unless you have been saved by the blood of Jesus by His Grace alone, through faith alone.



As Protestants and Evangelicals, we have historically stood on the final authority of God’s Word. We hold to the biblical Gospel of grace, while Rome holds to the damning Gospel of works. We cannot join with those who hold to a false gospel and proclaim a false Jesus in any spiritual matter, nor can we tolerate those who do (2 Corinthians 11:4). This is strictly forbidden by the Scriptures that Rome rejects as the final authority.



Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? – 2 Corinthians 6:14



So what is the fascination with Rome? Why are so many evangelicals pushing for unity with the false church? The truth is, the true Gospel and the teachings of the Bible have become, in the words of former Southern Baptist president, Ronnie Floyd, “secondary matters.” Saving the world from the secular influx of immorality has become the Gospel that most professing Christians hold to. It has become more important to stop gay marriage, stop socialism, stop abortion, stop liberalism, and restore our freedoms than it is to proclaim Christ crucified.



While these things are important, they have become for so many a golden calf of righteousness, and we have become so pragmatic in ideology that we’re willing to compromise the very truth of the Gospel in order to bring these things to pass. Morality, as opposed to Christ alone, has become both the means, and the end.



The Church of Rome happens to agree with many biblical teachings on morals, therefore, they are seen as viable partners in the war on culture and faith, when in fact, we should be evangelizing Roman Catholics, calling them to repent of their hatred of God and his Word, and leading them to the truth that is found only in the Scriptures.



What if these things are the judgment of God because the Church has neglected to proclaim the biblical truth? Do we really think we can restore our nation and turn it back to God by joining hands with those who reject Him? We must draw the line at justification. God is not going to save us, or restore us, through a false Gospel, or a false Jesus.



The fear of man trumps the fear of God for so many. Matthew 10:28 says “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” There will be countless souls in eternal damnation who practiced morality. They will say “Lord Lord, did we not do many mighty works in your name? (Matthew 10:28)”



“Depart from me,” Jesus will say. True works of righteousness are obeying God rather than men (Acts 5:29). We, as Christians and the Church, should be primarily calling people out of this world–not trying to fix it.







Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” – John 18:36
