USNS COMFORT: GIANT NAVY HOSPITAL SHIP DOCKS IN NEW YORK CITY

A huge US Navy hospital ship containing 1,000 beds has docked in New York City. The USNS Comfort aims to take the pressure off the city’s hospitals as they deal with the spread of COVID-19. New York is now the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the USA. But the ship is not expected to treat coronavirus patients. Rather it will be used to relocate shore-based patients undergoing treatments that are not coronavirus-related.
