Birds of a feather flock together. So do Islamic regimes.
Turkey’s AK party, which engineered the Islamization of Turkey, under whose rule the prisons are filled with journalists and political opponents, is standing up for the Muslim Brotherhood. And issuing warnings about democracy in the region.
The spokesman for Turkey’s ruling AK Party said on Tuesday that if the United States designated the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization, it would hamper democratization efforts in the Middle East and serve militant groups like Islamic State.
The White House said on Tuesday President Donald Trump was working to declare the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization, a step that would bring sanctions against Egypt’s oldest Islamist movement.
To quote Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the AK’s top dog, “Democracy is like a streetcar. When you come to your stop, you get off.”
The only democracy the AK and the Muslim Brotherhood are interested in is streetcar democracy followed by brutal Islamic tyranny.
That’s not democratization. It’s Islamization.
Omer Celik, spokesman for Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s Islamist-rooted AK Party, said such a decision by the United States would “undoubtedly yield extremely wrong results regarding stability, human rights, basic rights and freedoms in countries of the Islamic world”, he said.
I doubt they could be any worse than the state of stability, human rights and freedoms in Turkey.

Of course, if this is true, and Trump sees this through, it would be the most impactful statement of intent to date in taking the war on terror to the biggest players doorstep as opposed to welcoming them into your own house. Be interesting to see who comes out to block this move.
WASHINGTON — The White House is pushing to issue an order that would designate the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization, bringing the weight of American sanctions against a storied and influential Islamist political movement with millions of members across the Middle East, according to officials familiar with the matter.
The White House directed national security and diplomatic officials to find a way to place sanctions on the group after a White House visit on April 9 by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt, for whom the Brotherhood represents a source of political opposition. In a private meeting without reporters and photographers, Mr. el-Sisi urged Mr. Trump to take that step and join Egypt in branding the movement a terrorist organization.
Such a designation imposes wide-ranging economic and travel sanctions on companies and individuals who interact with the targeted group. The president responded affirmatively to Mr. el-Sisi, saying it would make sense. Some of Mr. Trump’s advisers have interpreted that as a commitment, officials said.
But the proposal has prompted fierce debate within the administration, including at a senior-level meeting of policymakers from various departments convened last week by the White House’s National Security Council, the officials said.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION TO DESIGNATE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD AS TERRORIST ORGANIZATION

Islamic group frequented Obama’s White House dozens of times

The Trump administration is set to classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization, the White House said.
The designation will introduce new travel and economic sanctions against the Egyptian Islamist group, which has a membership of over one million.
“The President has consulted with his national security team and leaders in the region who share his concern, and this designation is working its way through the internal process,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement Tuesday.
Notably, Democrat leadership, particularly former President Obama, had a more than friendly relationship with the Muslim organization in the aftermath of the U.S.-backed Arab Spring that saw the overthrow of then-Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in 2011.
In fact, Obama and neocons like the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) held regular meetings with the Muslim Brotherhood leadership at the White House after the massive unrest that followed the Arab Spring.
“The meeting Tuesday with working-level [national security staff] officials is just one in a series of meetings between US officials, members of Congress, and representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood,” White House spokesman Tommy Vietor had said in 2012.
“Senators Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and others have met with members of the MB during their visits to Egypt, and US officials, as part of their routine diplomatic outreach, continue to meet with representatives as well.”
Egypt swiftly issued life sentences in prison to Muslim Brotherhood leadership in 2013 for their role in the Arab Spring.
In 2015, the Obama administration defended its decision to continue hosting the Muslim Brotherhood even after they had been designated by the UK as a terrorist group and banned from the country when an 18-month investigation found ties to Hamas and other terrorist networks.
The “political repression of non-violent Islamist groups has historically contributed to the radicalization of the minority of their members who would consider violence,” Obama’s White House said. “The de-legitimization of non-violent political groups does not promote stability, and instead advances the very outcomes that such measures are intended to prevent.”
During this period, LibyaIraq and Syria all fell under radical Islamic control, which they are still dealing with to this day.
