Jack fervently believed in the precepts of God's Word and did not believe it was right to celebrate a union to which he was opposed as a matter of conscience. He politely declined. For that, he was sued.
No one should be bullied or banished from the marketplace for peacefully living out his/her beliefs about marriage.
Jack serves all customers; he simply declines to express messages or celebrate events that violate his deeply held beliefs.
Victory! The court upheld Jack’s freedom to peacefully live and work consistently with his beliefs. The decision makes clear that the government must respect Jack’s beliefs about marriage.
We were there, side by side with the nation's most prominent and credible voices, listening and learning.
When Jack finally walked down the steps of the Supreme Court with his ADF team, family, and Florist Barronelle Stutzman ... we all felt the weight of what just happened. In every direction I looked, I saw our students yelling at the top of their lungs, "We've got your back, Jack! We've got your back, Jack!"
In that moment, I bowed my head in tearful gratitude - I was seeing our mission at work, an appetite for truth, courage, and conscience being cultivated in our students that was literally shaping the trajectory of some of their lives. When great people like Jack have the courage to stand for their convictions, knowing that it means risking their livelihood, they must not stand alone. It was a privilege for us all to be there to support him and our ADF allies. We pray you'll get behind our mission and support a young Delaware leader today with your tax-deductible gift.Nicole TheisPresident Delaware Family Policy Council
