MONTEL WILLIAMS: ALEX JONES “INSPIRES PEOPLE TO BLOW THINGS UP”
90's talk show host in bizarre Twitter outburst
REPRESENTED LOAN COMPANY FINED $2.1 MILLION BY NEW YORK STATE FOR CHARGING USURIOUS INTEREST RATES OF 261-1304%
by PAUL JOSEPH WATSON | MARCH 11, 2015
90′s talk show host turned payday loan pusher Montel Williams launched a bizzare Twitter outburst this week, charging that Austin-based radio personality Alex Jones “inspires people to blow things up”.
After Infowars reporters Joe Biggs and Mikael Thalen were included with Williams in a Twitter thread about a VA manager mocking veteran suicides, Williams became irate, remarking, “oh by all means let’s add the conspiracy theorists,” before accusing Alex Jones of, “lying about school shootings”.
Williams became increasingly angry before asserting, “I’m not interested in debating a fruit loop who inspires people to blow things up”.
@Rambobiggs @RealAlexJones because I'm not interested in debating a fruit loop who inspires people to blow things up.

Williams failed to provide any actual examples where Jones had inspired anyone to commit violence.
He went on to call Jones a “moron,” a “disgrace” and an “evil master con artist who should burn in hell”. Williams also suggested that Jones and Biggs were cocaine addicts.
@BKerikBlog @ColMorrisDavis @RealAlexJones ok. How about evil master con artist who should burn in hell?

Williams then likened Jones to the head of ISIS.
@HHoutdoorsman I have no interest in debating evil. I haven't debated head of ISIS either.

In 2009, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and the New York Times insinuated that cop killer Richard Poplawski was inspired by Alex Jones, despite the fact that Poplawski had openly criticized Jones’ anti-racist political viewpoint. Some outlets that regurgitated the accusation were subsequently forced to issue retractions.
In 2013, MSNBC also alleged that the Tsarnaev brothers were inspired to carry out the Boston bombings by the “deeply racist” Jones and his website, while providing no evidence whatsoever.
The Twitter meltdown happened just hours before it emerged that Williams had signed an agreement to stop endorsing MoneyMutual, the trading name of payday loan company Selling Source, which was found to have violated New York’s interest rate limit of 16 per cent by promoting loans at a typical rate of “somewhere between 261 percent and 1,304 percent.”
The company, for whom Williams has been the daytime face for years, was ordered to pay a $2.1 million penalty by state regulators.
When Williams was confronted on his promotion of “psychic” Sylvia Browne, who appeared on The Montel Williams Show numerous times between 1991 and 2008 despite being widely criticized as a charlatan, the host responded by saying that he “never purported to be a provider of news with my show”.
@PrisonPlanet @2Biblez @MikaelThalen @KristenMeghan @Rambobiggs I never purported to be a provider of news with my show.
— Montel Williams (@Montel_Williams) March 9, 2015
Williams previously described Browne as “the most appearing guest on a talk show in the history of television”.
Williams was repeatedly invited to appear on the Alex Jones show for a debate but has steadfastly refused to do so.
