The list is from the Investigative Project on Terrorism. Yes, it starts with #2; I don’t know why. Also, it dates from last year, as you can see from the presence of Keith Ellison and Elijah Cummings, and the designation of Rashida Tlaib as a “candidate.” But it is worth revisiting as an example of the normalization and mainstreaming of evil. Would any of these politicians send a letter of congratulations to a Nazi group? Of course not. Would they send a letter of congratulations to a group that opposed jihad terror? Not on your life. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. A tenured Columbia University professor endorsed terrorism in a speech given at the Palestine Center late last week."The Oslo Accords inaugurated this process of liquidating the Palestinian national struggle while the 'Deal of the Century' plans and hopes to conclude it," Professor Joseph Massad said. "The only thing standing in its way is the ongoing Palestinian resistance to Israel, settler colonialism and racism that continues inside Israel and Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza; the ongoing Marches of Return in Gaza; and the armed-resistance of the Izz al-Din Qassam Brigades to Israeli invasions in Gaza."The al-Qassam Brigades are the military wing of Hamas which is a U.S.-designated terrorist organization. It has killed more than 650 civilians, but according to Massad, Israel's "settler-colonialism" justifies al-Qassam killing Israeli citizens. Most conflicts between Hamas and Israel are triggered by Hamas indiscriminately firing rockets into Israel.While people on both sides of the conflict criticize Oslo, Massad's speech mischaracterized its goal of taking steps toward a peaceful, two-state solution. In his eyes, "The establishment of the Israeli settler colony resulted in the usurpation of all of historic Palestine," meaning Israel has no right to exist.In his speech, he cast Hamas as the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people instead of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), furthering rendering Oslo illegitimate."The Israeli recognition of the PLO as the representatives of the Palestinian people took place at the exact moment that the PLO ceased to represent the national will of the majority of Palestinians," he said. "As Israeli foreign minister Shimon Perez himself had asserted correctly at the time, and I quote him, 'we have not changed, the PLO did.'"Despite some of Oslo's shortcomings, it created autonomy for the Palestinians – the Palestinian Authority (PA) – in the West Bank. To cast the Palestinians as walking away empty-handed is simply not true. Similarly, Massad's emphasis on "settler colonialism" ignores the history in which Israel was able exchange land for peace with Egypt, negotiate peace with Jordan, and its unilateral withdrawal from Gaza.Its payoff for that withdrawal was the installation of a radical Islamist terrorist group seizing control of the territory, choosing to build a terrorist infrastructure rather than to improve life for the people there.Massad's assertion that Israel is a colonial and racist country also ignores repeated peace offers that would have created a Palestinian state, only to see them rejected.Massad was far from alone in bashing Israel at the Palestine Center conference. Other speakers included Executive Director of the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) Yousef Munayyer, whose organization openly supports the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). During a 2014 interview, he said Hamas is "not only a terrorist organization; they're a resistance movement, they're a political organization, they're a social services organization, and I don't agree with the use of the word 'terrorism' to just hijack conversations."Earlier this week Munayyer took issue with a Wall Street Journal report that Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Abu Al-Atta was killed because the headline didn't mention Israel. "Killed by whom?," he tweeted. "Killed by what? A Falling coconut? A rabid hedgehog? Note which actors are perpetrating violence are identified in headlines and which are not."Al-Atta definitely perpetrated violence. He was responsible for a series of recent attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers, and Israel had intelligence he was on the cusp of launching a new wave of violence. He was killed in a precision strike on his apartment, with no casualties outside. Israel reportedly used a drone to ensure he was home before firing.And like Munayyer, Massad has a history of bigoted rhetoric.In a 2013 Al Jazeera editorial, "The Last of the Anti-Semites," he wrote that Zionists and Nazis partnered in order to transfer German Jews to British Palestine. Massad, a professor of Modern Arab Politics and Intellectual History, said "it is this shared goal of expelling Jews from Europe as a separate unassimilable race that created the affinity between Nazis and Zionists all along."Therefore, according to Massad, it is the Palestinian people and anti-Zionist Jews who are actually on the front lines opposing anti-Semitism and Zionist colonial manifestation. "It is their resistance that stands in the way of a complete victory for European anti-Semitism in the Middle East and the world at large," he wrote.Jeffrey Goldberg, now The Atlantic magazine's editor in chief, called it "one of the most anti-Jewish screeds in recent memory."The piece proved too controversial even for Al Jazeera, and it was taken down only to be put back up with an extensive editor's note.As early as 2002 Massad was under investigation at Columbia University for allegedly intimidating a student."She [the student] says he yelled at her after she raised her hand and asked whether Israel gives warning before bombing certain areas in the West Bank," the New York Sun reported. Massad denied the allegations, calling the student a liar.In a documentary produced by The David Project, "Columbia Unbecoming," one student described Massad as one of the most dangerous academics on campus, claiming his lectures were used to propagate instead of inform. The student said that Massad's "favorite description is the Palestinians as the new Jew and the Jew as the new Nazi."Last month, an organization called "Alums for Campus Fairness" issued a report calling Columbia a "Hotbed for Hate." It devoted more than a page to Massad's hostility to Zionism and Zionists dating back to 2002.Seen in that light, Massad's endorsement of Hamas "resistance" may be disappointing, but it cannot be considered surprising.

Frequent pot smokers are more than twice as likely to suffer a stroke compared with those who don't partake, the first study found. They’re also more likely to be hospitalized for a dangerously erratic heart rhythm, according to the second study. Both studies are to be presented at an upcoming meeting of the American Heart Association (AHA), in Philadelphia, Nov. 16 to 18. Research presented at meetings is typically considered preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed journal. ... The findings are ‘thought-provoking at a time when there is a great push to legalize marijuana, and the herb and its metabolites are being promoted as a cure-all for a myriad of medical conditions and ailments,’ said Dr. Ranjit Suri, an electrophysiologist at Mount Sinai St. Luke's in New York City. Suri was not part of either study. The first study found that non-smokers who use marijuana more than 10 days a month are nearly 2.5 times more likely to have a stroke versus non-users. ... The study team was surprised that people so young had such an elevated stroke risk, said lead author Tarang Parekh, a health policy researcher at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. ... In the second study, researchers found that people who compulsively use cannabis have an up to 50 percent greater risk of being hospitalized for arrhythmia--an erratic heartbeat that can increase risk of stroke, heart attack or heart failure.”

(Friday Church News Notes, November 15, 2019, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “China’s New 500MP ‘Super Camera,” petapixel.com, Sep. 27, 2019: “Scientists at the Fudan University and Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics in China have developed a 500MP cloud-connected ‘super camera’ that can reportedly pick out facial details of an individual person among thousands in a crowded stadium. The new tech is raising serious concerns about privacy and government monitoring. According to a report by ABC News, the camera was revealed at China’s International Industry Fair by Xiaoyang Zeng, one of the scientists who worked on the new system. The camera combines its 500MP resolution with a connection to the cloud and AI-powered, real-time facial recognition technology, making it possible to identify every individual in an ultra-wide image of a crowded stadium. As if that’s not enough, the camera can reportedly record video at the same resolution. The applications were put aptly enough by the China News Service, who writes that the ‘cloud-camera system [is] able to capture thousands of faces at a stadium in perfect detail and generate their facial data for the cloud while locating a particular target in an instant.’ According to the CNS report, the technology is being praised by ‘most Chinese experts’ for its potential ‘military, national defense, and public security applications,’ although ‘some’ have expressed concerns around privacy.”
BEWARE OF BETHEL CHURCH
(Friday Church News Notes, November 15, 2019, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Bethel Church is a former Assemblies of God church in Redding, California, that withdrew in 2005 to become a “nondenominational” charismatic network of churches and ministries. Bethel’s senior pastors are the husband/wife team Bill and Beni Johnson. Bethel Music publishes popular contemporary worship songs, promotes CCM tours worldwide, and operates WorshipU, an influential educational program. Bethel’s most famous musician is Jeremy Riddle, co-author of “This Is Amazing Grace.” The heretical emphasis is “encountering God” and “pursuing the presence of God” by means of releasing oneself to heavily sensual music. “At every service, our worship teams usher in the presence of God.” Bethel’s series “Without Words” uses instrumental music “to push the creative boundaries of worship.” There are no lyrics. Bethel’s “dance and flag ministry” also “reveals God’s heart with no words.” This is blind, emotional mysticism to feed the modern frenzy for “an experience.” It is open disobedience to the Bible’s command to “be sober, be vigilant” and is a perfect recipe for spiritual delusion. True spiritual edification requires a biblical message that is understood. This is the theme of 1 Corinthians 14, where “edify” is a synonym for “understanding.” “... except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. ... I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. ... Let all things be done unto edifying” (1 Corinthians 14:9, 15, 26). Bethel Church also founded Jesus Culture, a contemporary, charismatic, ecumenical, music-oriented youth ministry that has its own Jesus Culture Music. Jesus Culture’s conferences are attended by tens of thousands. Bethel’s School of Supernatural Ministry has graduated 10,000 since 1998. “Students learn how to read, understand, and ‘do’ the Bible, how to practice His presence, to witness, heal the sick, prophesy, preach, pray, cast out demons and much more.” Bethel teaches and practices all sorts of charismatic heresies, such as the continuation of apostles and prophets, gibberish tongues, the promise of healing in the atonement, angelic and demon sightings, clairvoyance, grave soaking (lying on a grave to soak up the deceased’s “anointing”), and the appearance of “glory clouds,” gold dust, and angel “feathers.” Beni Johnson teaches that there are a variety of angels: messenger angels, healing angels, fiery angels.” She says that one of her students in the Supernatural School of Ministry was told by God to go to a chapel and shout “Wakey Wakey!” Suddenly, a huge angel stepped out and said, “I am the angel from the 1904 revival and you just woke me up.” When she asked, “Why have you been asleep?” the angel replied, “Because no one has been calling out for revival anymore.” On Nov. 6, 2019, Bill Johnson tweeted, “To raise a generation of powerful people, we must build trust. We must have the core belief that people are good.” In contrast, Jesus’ core belief is that “there is none good but one, that is, God” (Mark 10:18).
FINNISH POLITICIAN ACCUSED OF “INCITEMENT OF HATRED” OVER BOOKLET “MALE AND FEMALE HE CREATED THEM”
(Friday Church News Notes, November 15, 2019, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “Finnish Politician, Pastor’s Wife Accused,” Christian News Network, Nov. 5, 2019: “A lawmaker and pastor’s wife in Finland who was already being probed by police over a social media post in which she questioned the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland’s partnership with a Helsinki Pride event is now also facing a preliminary ‘incitement’ investigation over a booklet that she wrote 15 years ago entitled ‘Male and Female He Created Them.’ The Office of the Prosecutor General of Finland issued a press release on Monday noting that while Päivi Räsänen’s 2004 publication--which remains online--‘takes a stand on ecclesiastical policy, social policy, sexuality and marriage in regard to the Bible and its interpretation,’ Prosecutor Raija Toiviainen believes the text potentially constitutes a hate crime. ... ‘According to the prosecutor general, there is reason to believe that because of the defamation of homosexuals by the violation of their human dignity, Ms. Räsänen is guilty of incitement to hatred against a group,’ it explains. ‘Therefore, there will be a preliminary investigation in this matter.” ... As previously reported, Räsänen’s husband is a pastor with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, which is the largest denomination in the country, having an estimated three million members. ... Räsänen is known for defending life and marriage, standing against abortion, euthanasia and homosexuality. ... In June, Räsänen, a member of the Christian Democrat Party (which is different from the Democratic Party in the United States), also tweeted her views about the unscriptural advocacy. ‘How can the Church’s doctrinal foundation, the Bible, be compatible with the lifting up of shame and sin as a subject of pride? #LGBT #HelsinkiPride2019 #Romans 1:24-27,' she wrote, while sharing a photograph of the biblical text, as it directly addresses homosexuality. However, in September, it was announced that Räsänen had been placed under government investigation for her post, being accused of ‘incitement against sexual and gender minorities.’ ... She also told the Christian Broadcasting Network that she is ‘worried that this case, the criminal investigation, might frighten some Christians to hide and to keep silent.’ ‘[T]ruth usually comes with a price. One often has to pay for following truth, confessing truth and speaking it. Instead, however, people are tempted to sell the truth, to acquire advantage for oneself by yielding to popular, false ideas and by distorting the truth. Yet the Bible exhorts, Buy the truth, and do not sell it! Räsänen stated during a seminar in 2013, according to text posted to her website. ... ‘If we neglect this right, the space for speaking will eventually get smaller. The more we keep silent about the teachings of the Bible on the painful issues of our time, the more powerful is the rejection. If there are not enough skiers on a ski track in a snowstorm, it gets difficult to proceed. We need people who ski before us.’”

Chesa Boudin, the son of unrepentant terrorists, is now leading a “reform” agenda that is certain to make the City By the Bay even more radical, and more plagued by crime, corruption, health hazards, and disgusting odor.Along with a severe housing crisis, impossibly high real-estate prices, and soaring crime and homelessness problems, San Francisco has a huge filth and stench factor to deal with. Public streets, sidewalks, and parks are strewn with garbage, needles and other drug paraphernalia, and feces (from humans and dogs). And widespread public urination is adding to the unpleasant aroma, threatening to kill the City By the Bay’s status as a top tourist destination. Even the city’s liberal-left mayor, London Breed, has admitted the situation is dire. “I will say there is more feces on the sidewalks than I’ve ever seen growing up here,” Breed said in a television interview. "That is a huge problem and we are not just talking about from dogs — we’re talking about from humans.”But, if anything, the city’s incoming district attorney, Chesa Boudin, is likely to make matters worse, by ignoring “quality-of-life crimes” to focus on his Marxist idea of “transformative justice.” Boudin was announced as the winner on Saturday, November 9, after his opponent, acting District Attorney Suzy Loftus, conceded defeat in the closely contested race. In response to an American Civil Liberties Union questionnaire, candidate Boudin had stated: “We will not prosecute cases involving quality-of-life crimes. Crimes such as public camping, offering or soliciting sex, public urination, blocking a sidewalk, etc., should not and will not be prosecuted. Many of these crimes are still being prosecuted, we have a long way to go to decriminalize poverty and homelessness.”Like Seattle, Los Angeles, Portland, and dozens of other cities where “progressive” Democrats have taken over, San Francisco has sown the wind and is reaping the whirlwind.However, the so-called quality-of-life crimes are not merely annoying and unpleasant, they also involve public health and safety. And, they are an opening wedge, hiding behind a cover of “compassion” and “justice,” aimed at hijacking the criminal justice system to transform America along socialist lines. Undoubtedly, that is why Senator Bernie Sanders, a professed socialist, exultantly tweeted his congratulations to Boudin: “Now is the moment to fundamentally transform our racist and broken criminal justice system by ending mass incarceration, the failed war on drugs and the criminalization of poverty. Congratulations @chesaboudin on your historic victory!” That is a troublesome endorsement for all who are familiar with Sanders’ long history of cozying up to communist regimes in Russia, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. Sanders even honeymooned in the former Soviet Union. Supporters of one of his current competitors in the Democratic presidential race recently published a video from that “honeymoon,” in which a near-naked (and possibly drunk) Bernie Sanders is seen swilling vodka and singing communist songs with his Soviet comrades.Soros Network Targets DA Races San Francisco’s Chesa Boudin is the latest in a string of district attorney races targeted by ultra-left progressives in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, St. Louis, and elsewhere. Many of them have benefited from the lavish support of Justice & Public Safety PACs funded by globalist billionaire George Soros.Among the new crop of leftist DAs across the country, Boudin would most likely win the trophy for tilting furthest to the left. The New American has reported extensively in the past on the Boudin race and Chesa Boudin’s extremist bio. (See here, here, and here.) We have noted that he not only publicly and proudly has proclaimed he has “four parents” — all of whom are convicted notorious, communist terrorists — but has openly embraced their Marxist ideology. His biological parents, David Gilbert and Kathy Boudin, were leading members of the Weather Underground Organization (WUO) terrorist group and went to prison for the murder of two police officers and a Brinks armored car guard. Although his mother has been released from prison, his father, David Gilbert, remains behind bars.Chesa Boudin’s “other parents” — his adopted parents who raised him while his parents were in prison — are, as we have previously reported, “none other than the unrepentant WUO terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, who also turned their rampage of bombs, terror, and mayhem into self-serving book deals, speaking engagements, and professorships.” His adopted parents, Ayers and Dohrn, also played a pivotal role in the launch of the political career of Chicago “community organizer” Barack Obama.We also reported: “When the FBI discovered a WUO bomb factory in San Francisco in 1970, among the fingerprints found there were those of three of Chesa’s four parents: David Gilbert, Kathy Boudin, and Bill Ayers.” His parents had explicitly declared war on the United States of America and then embarked on a terrorist spree of bombings and robberies.Ayers has referred to himself as a “small ‘c’ communist,” meaning he is not an official member of the Communist Party USA, but adheres to their Marxist-Leninist creed. Chesa Boudin’s maternal grandfather, Leonard Boudin, on the other hand, was a lifelong “Big ‘C’ Communist” and one of the Communist Party’s most infamous attorneys, even serving as legal counsel for Fidel Castro and Cuba’s communist dictatorship. Chesa’s mother named him after convicted terrorist/cop-killer Joanne Chesimard, who now goes by the name Asata Shakur and lives in Cuba, where she fled after escaping from prison.According to a CBS news report on the recent San Francisco district attorney election, “Boudin learned of his victory while flying back to San Francisco from New York, where he was visiting his incarcerated father.” As to be expected, the Fake News Media commentators that readily hurl the treason charge at President Trump not only bend over backwards to explain away the outright treason of Boudin’s parents and grandfather, but also purposely ignore the new district attorney’s own extremist commitment to their toxic political philosophy. “My parents were all dedicated to fighting U.S. imperialism around the world. I’m dedicated to the same thing,” he has said.His actions prove his words. Among his accomplishments we find:• He was an enthusiastic backer of Venezuela’s communist dictator Hugo Chávez and actually worked for him inside Chavez’s Miraflores palace in Caracas.• In 2007, he signed a statement of international leftists who supported the Marxist regime of Bolivia’s President Evo Morales.• In 2008, he joined several thousand radical college professors and students in signing a statement of support for “Professor” Bill Ayers, the unrepentant WUO terrorist leader.• In 2012 he worked with then-Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi to write San Francisco’s “sanctuary” policy rejecting inmate detainer requests from federal immigration authorities.Nevertheless, Chesa Boudin has received glowing treatment from the establishment Media Lie Machine. He is routinely showered with sympathetic coverage presenting him as a heroic “progressive” and a compassionate champion of the poor, the oppressed, the downtrodden. Together with San Francisco’s other “progressive” politicians, Boudin appears to be committed to following the path of Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro, who have turned Venezuela, once one of the most prosperous countries in Latin America, into a tyrannical socialist hellhole of pestilence, corruption, and starvation.
