BACK IN PULPIT AFTER SCANDAL, TULLIAN TCHIVIDJIAN INSISTS SEX WITH FORMER CONGREGANTS WAS NOT ABUSE

BACK IN PULPIT AFTER SCANDAL, TULLIAN TCHIVIDJIAN INSISTS SEX WITH FORMER CONGREGANTS WAS NOT ABUSE
BY LEONARDO BLAIR

As he gets ready for the fall launch of his unaffiliated The Sanctuary church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Billy Graham’s grandson, Tullian Tchividjian, who was stripped of his preaching credentials in 2015 due to extramarital relationships with former congregants, says they were all “consensual” and not an abuse of power.
Speaking through a spokesperson, Tchividjian, 47, told the Palm Beach Post in a report Saturday that said his “infidelity in 2015 was completely wrong, morally and ethically” but rejected claims that he used his role as a pastor to inveigle the women into sexual relationships.
“I don’t care what role a person has, a consensual relationship between two adults is not abuse. And some of these people will try to make the case that, ‘Well, because you’re in a position of authority, it is abuse,’” Tchividjian said. “And I’ll go, ‘OK I can see how that has been and can be used by people in those positions.’ ... (But) that just was not true for me. I was not abusing my authoritative role to try and find women.”
Once a pastor/shepherd is defrocked for committing an egregious sin against God, he is unqualified to lead, or in Tchividjian’s case “unfit for Christian ministry”….unless you happen to be the grandson of Billy Graham, and have an ego roughly the size of the Grand Canyon.
Tchividjian lost his job at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as well as his marriage to his now ex-wife, Kim, in the summer of 2015 after the church discovered an adulterous affair between him and a parishioner on the church's server. He was also deposed of pastoral credentials by the South Florida Presbytery. He later confessed to another affair that resulted in his firing from Willow Creek Church in Winter Springs, Florida, where he was hired after he left Coral Ridge.
Despite Tchividjian’s view of his relationships with the women, Rachel Steele, one of his former parishioners at Coral Ridge who says she had sex with him a few times between May and June 2015, told the Palm Beach Post that she didn’t feel like their relationship was consensual even though she wanted to have sex with him.
There was an element, she said, of surrendering “to what he wanted.” She argues that she was groomed and he did abuse his position as her pastor.
Tchividjian, she said, had baptized her children months earlier and had been offering her and her now ex-husband marriage advice she considered counseling.
“He was my spiritual leader. You know, he was my go-to. He was my teacher. ... He definitely had a place of authority in my life,” Steele told the publication. “You trust a man like that a lot more.”
Tchividjian told the publication that he was not serving as a counselor for Steele at the time.
In late 2016 however, the board of GRACE, an organization that exists to empower the Christian community through education and training to recognize, prevent, and respond to child abuse, condemned Tchividjian’s actions, as a "gross misuse of power."
The board on which Tchividjian's uncle, Emmanuel Tchividjian, and brother, Boz, are members said they were "deeply disturbed" as the scandal snowballed after multiple women came forward with confessions of extramarital dalliances with him at the time.
"One of God's shepherds used his position of authority, his gift of words, his intellect and personality to draw you in when you were vulnerable and in need of care. All power belongs to Christ. Any power we have is derivative and sacred and to be used only for His glory and the good of His people. Anything less is an abuse of that power," Grace told the women in a statement on the situation.
"You have been victims of the gross misuse of power God intended for your good. We grieve with you. We stand with you in the light. You have with courage exposed the deeds of darkness. Thank you, for we as the Body of Christ need your voices,” it continued.
Other critics, like independent journalist Julie Roys, have openly expressing misgivings about Tchividjian’s return to ministry.
“After an extramarital affair & getting defrocked by So Florida Presbytery, Billy Graham's grandson @TullianT is back & planting a church in South Florida. No apology for sexual misconduct & pastoral abuse, just denials. #badcelebritypastorsalwayscomeback,” Roys tweeted Sunday morning.
She later revealed that she was blocked by the preacher on the social network which prompted several other critics of his ministry to reveal that he gave them the same treatment.
As he makes his return to the pulpit, Tchividjian is arguing strongly that he has a message that many people will appreciate.
“Some people think that I should just shut up and crawl in a cave and never come out because I’m not qualified to be leading spiritually in any way because of everything that I went through and everything that I did,” he told the Palm Beach Post. “Other people champion it because they go, ‘It’s about time that churches are led by people who know what it feels like to, you know, fall on their face and be in the gutter.’”
In his message on Sunday, he argued that “real Christianity” is “much more scandalous than most of us realize.”
“I wanna focus your attention this morning on Mark 10. I’m gonna read verses 17-22 and then also verse 27. This is part four or a short series that I’ve entitled ‘Upside down Christianity.’ And the whole purpose of this series has been to look at various episodes in the life and ministry of Jesus and to show how Jesus turned conventional religious wisdom upside down and inside out,” he began.
“In fact, his very existence confronted and contradicted the religious establishment of his day. By looking at different episodes of his life we get a sense of what real Christianity actually is and it’s much more scandalous than most of us realize,” he noted.
Near the end of his message, he veered into his own scandal and what he had learned from it.
“I’ve been very open, upfront and honest, painfully and uncomfortably transparent about my life completely coming off the rails in 2015 as a result of choices that I made. And I still deal, and I don’t think it will ever fully go away. It’s probably a gift to me honestly, because it keeps me dependent on God and makes me realize afresh that His grace is undeserved,” he said, noting he was still struggling to get over it.
“I still deal with a level of guilt and shame and regret for how I hurt my family and how I hurt my friends and how I let people down back in 2015. I screwed up and people got hurt because of me. And because of that, I still deal with,” he said tearing up and his voice slightly cracking.
“It is like it happened yesterday when I think about the moment I sat my three children down … in my living room to tell them what I had done and the look of their face and the words that came out of their mouth. I will never ever forget. And my relationship with my kids, it always has been, unbelievable. But I will never forget the ways in which I hurt them specifically, the ways in which I let other people down and hurt other people,” he said. “The way that I betrayed my first wife and all of those things. Ok.”
He noted however that because “Jesus succeeded for me, I am free to fail without fearing that God will leave me or forsake me.
“God’s love for me, God’s acceptance of me, God’s approval of me has nothing to do with me and has everything to do with what God in Christ has done on my behalf.”

The question that needs to be asked is who restored Tullian Tchividjian to ministry after he was very publicly defrocked? As JD Hall points out: “Certainly, Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church has not restored Tchividjian. His former pastor, Kevin Labby, has not restored Tchividjian. GRACE (Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment) has not restored Tchividjian. The Presbyterian Church of America has not restored Tchividjian. The PCA’s South Florida Presbytery has not restored Tchividjian. So how on Earth did Tchividjian get restored?”

AMSTERDAM: BUSINESSMAN RETURNS FROM VACATION TO FIND HIS PROPERTY OCCUPIED BY 40 ASYLUM SEEKERS (ILLEGAL ALIENS)
“Do I have to leave my own building?”
Yes, because he's been dispossessed!

A businessman in Amsterdam returned from vacation to find his property occupied by 40 refused asylum seekers who told him to leave.
According to a report by AT5, entrepreneur Salih Ozcan was “expelled from (his) own premises” by the migrant squatters after returning from holiday.
After recovering his property from a “bad tenant” who used it as a weed factory in January, Ozcan had refurbished the site and planned to use it for his car company.
He was shocked to discover it had been occupied by 40 failed asylum seekers who had completely trashed the place.
Referring to the piles of trash at the entrance, Ozcan said the scene was too “crazy for words,” adding, “Only rats and mice come here.”
A video shows angry African migrants confronting both Ozcan and the camera crew from the TV station. The migrants threatened to call the police if they didn’t leave immediately.
“Do I have to leave my own building?” asked an exasperated Ozcan.
Ozcan decided to leave his own building before the police got involved.
“It’s a very bad feeling. I have no words for it at all,” he said. “I can understand those people somewhat, but they don’t understand me at all. Unbelievable. That this is possible in such a country.”
Police refused to comment specifically on the case and said they wouldn’t be treating the matter as urgent.
The footage is somewhat similar to video which came to light in 2016 showing an 80-year-old hotel owner in Italy being forced by police to house numerous African migrants as he desperately tries to resist government confiscation of his property.
The owner refused to house migrants after being told he would be paid just 7 euros per night for each asylum seeker, but his property was subsequently confiscated by the then left-wing government.

CONSERVATIVE CENSORSHIP: MISS NEVADA BANNED FROM ENTERING MS. AMERICA OVER HER SUPPORT FOR TRUMP

UPDATED:
Former Ms. Nevada 2019 Katie Jo Williams speaks out on her allegations against the Ms. American Pageant on 'Fox & Friends.' #FoxNews

Katie Jo Williams is a US combat veteran, a member of the US Army National Guard and a Trump supporter. For this she was kicked out of the Ms. America pageant.
Last month Miss Michigan Kathy Zhu has been stripped of her title over allegedly racist social media posts. The 20-year-old, who is a Donald Trump supporter, model, and activist, has over 70,000 followers on Instagram and Twitter.

MISS NEVADA BANNED FROM ENTERING MS. AMERICA

Correction: An earlier version of this article listed the organization concerned as “Miss America” – the organization involved is actually Ms. America. Miss Nevada says she was banned from competing in the upcoming Ms. America beauty contest because of her refusal to hide her support for President Trump.
“I was officially disqualified from competing in the Ms. America pageant for 2019,” said Katie Jo Williams in an Instagram video. She says organizers told her she was “too political” to be involved.
Williams asked what she could do to resolve the issue, and was told the only recourse was to delete everything she had posted on social media.
The director of the pageant sent screenshots which included pictures of Williams in her Trump 2020 hat, professing her love for America and her opposition to Antifa, making it clear that they all needed to be erased.
Williams refused and was subsequently stripped of her Ms. Nevada title.
Organizers then told Williams that in order to get a refund for her entry fee, she would have to send back her sash and crown for winning Miss Nevada and agree to not tell anyone about being banned from competing in Ms. America.
“I feel like if I had more liberal views, less conservative views, that this wouldn’t even be an issue,” said Williams, adding, “I stand by everything I posted.”

She is a recruiter for the Illinois National Guard, currently overseeing 140 recruiters, and is going through drill sergeant schooling.
Aside from her fit physique, it was her looks that prompted friends in the military to encourage her to apply for Ms. Veteran America 2014. As the only member of the National Guard to make the final round of the competition, she admits she was reluctant at first."
Williams, who plans to work in the Illinois National Guard until retirement, doubts there will be more pageants in her future.

OCASIO-CORTEZ’S CONCERN ABOUT JEWISH 'WHITE SUPREMACISTS'~AND HER COMPLETE INDIFFERENCE TO ISLAMIC-ARAB RACISM
BY HUGH FITZGERALD
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
Appearing on a “hip-hop” radio show in New York, Ebro In the Morning, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez agreed with the interviewer, Ebro Darden, in his claim that there were “white supremacist Jews” who aligned with “racism.”
According to Fox News, Darden remarked, “How do you have white supremacist Jews?”
“How do you have these individuals who are legit aligning with racism and white supremacy, but they’re Jewish?” he asked. “It’s something that most people can’t wrap their brains around. But it’s a real thing.”
“He then asserted, “What’s going on with Israel and Palestine, while it’s very, very, deep, it is very, very, criminal, and it is very, very unjust.”
Ocasio-Cortez appeared to agree wholeheartedly with these claims, saying, “Absolutely.”
No evidence asked for, and none provided. Israel is “very, very criminal, and it [the situation it has created] is very, very unjust.”
So much  for the Hamas Charter, that calls for Israel’s destruction. So much for the Hamas tunnels dug from Gaza into Israel, and the Hezbollah tunnels dug from southern Lebanon into northern Israel, both intended to allow Palestinian fighters to sneak into Israel to kill or kidnap Israelis. So much for the Palestinian children’s shows where sweet-voiced children describe their hope to someday “kill Jews.” So much for the PA schoolbooks in which hatred of Jews is inculcated across the curriculum. So much for the terrorists who murder Jews on buses, in pizza parlors, at Passover ceremonies, hiking in the hills, photographing birds, walking on the streets of Jerusalem. So much for the Pay-For-Slay program, where the families of killed or imprisoned terrorists receive generous lifetime support from the PA. So much for the squares and buildings that are named after terrorist “martyrs.” So much for the three major and three minor wars that have been thrust on the Jews of Israel by their Arab enemies since 1948. So much for the thousands of acts of Islamic terror that Israeli Jews have endured. None of this appears to have made an impression on Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
AOC also seemed to dismiss Jewish claims of antisemitism against some of those attacking Israel, saying, “Criticizing the occupation doesn’t make you anti-Israel, frankly.” But who has ever claimed that such criticism did? It is only when the criticism of Israel becomes so one-sided, so oblivious to history and the truth, so venomous in tone, that we have a perfect right to call that beyond-the-pale criticism an expression of antisemitism. Surely AOC should be willing to admit that there must be some kinds of criticism of Israel that are so over the top that they can only be explained by reference to antisemitism. When Israelis are accused of “treating Palestinians worse than Hitler treated the Jews,” or when Israeli soldiers are accused of deliberately murdering Palestinian children, we have a right to call such monstrous claims examples of antisemitism. When Israel is described as an “apartheid state” even though Arabs live, work, shop, are treated in hospitals, and study in universities side-by-side with Jews, that description is an example of antisemitism. When Israel-bashers ignore the fact that Arabs sit in the Knesset, serve on the Supreme Court, and serve as ambassadors in Israel’s diplomatic corps, which would spoil their charge of an “apartheid state,” such a deliberate omission reflects antisemitism.
“It doesn’t mean that you are against the existence of a nation,” she continued. “It means that you believe in human rights, and it’s about making sure that Palestinian human rights are equal to Israeli human rights, and there are a lot of troubling things happening there.”
Do the Arab citizens of Israel not have the same rights as Jewish citizens? They can vote, run for office, serve in the government. They have the right to practice their religion freely and openly. They have access to the same hospitals and the same universities. The only difference is that they are not required to serve in the military, though they may volunteer if they wish.
The Arabs with the least rights in “Palestine” are those who are ruled by Hamas in Gaza, and by the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank. In neither case is there real democracy. Hamas keeps itself in power by terrorizing  potential opponents in Gaza. Mahmoud Abbas was elected to a four-year term as President of the Palestinian Authority in 2005; he has not held an election since. In both Gaza and the West Bank, the political corruption is massive. Two of Hamas’ top leaders, Mousa Abu Marzouk and Khaled Meshal, have each accumulated fortunes of at least 2.5 billion dollars, stolen from foreign aid meant for the Gazan Arabs. Mahmoud Abbas and two of his sons, meanwhile, are no slouches either, for they have amassed a family fortune of between $400 and $600 million.
She [AOC] then endorsed Palestinian mob violence, stating, “I believe that injustice is a threat to the safety of all people, because once you have a group that is marginalized and marginalized and marginalized — once someone doesn’t have access to clean water, they have no choice but to riot, right?”
AOC seems to think the Palestinian mobs rioting on the Gazan border with Israel are fully justified. “They have no choice.” Is she aware that they are not merely rioting, but throwing Molotov cocktails, grenades, and other explosives, sometimes even shooting, at Israeli soldiers? Does she know that they have been trying for sixteen months to breach the security fence, not to discuss water management, but in order to enter Israel in order to kill or kidnap Israelis, both military and civilian? Does she know about the incendiary kites that the Palestinians in Gaza have let loose to set Israeli farmland on fire? These are more than mere rioters; they are Jihadis, fighting against the Infidel Israelis, and hoping to subdue them.
The Israelis have not “marginalized” the Palestinians; it is the Palestinians who, by their relentless attempts to kill Israelis, have marginalized themselves. They are told, in the Qur’an, not to take Jews and Christians as friends, for “they are friends only with each other.” (5:51) They are told that Infidels are “the most vile of created beings.” (98:6) How exactly should Israelis behave toward people who want no part of them, but instead despise them, and wish to destroy them? These Palestinians have been taught in dozens of Qur’anic verses to despise and hate the Jews, and in 109 Qur’anic verses have also been taught to “fight” and to “kill” and to “smite at the necks of” and to “strike terror in the hearts of” the Infidels, which includes the Jews? AOC says the “Palestinians… have no choice but to riot.” Of course they have a choice. They could choose to make peace with Israel. They could have chosen, when the Israelis withdrew from Gaza, to accept and make use of those greenhouses the Israelis had built, and handed over to the Palestinians intact, hoping that they would carry on, and even expand, the profitable business the Israelis had created. Instead the Arabs, in a spiteful fit, destroyed those greenhouses. The Israelis would still be happy to help the Gazan Arabs prosper, if only they would stop trying to kill Israelis.
Israel has provided employment for Palestinians from both Gaza and the West Bank, but the threat of terrorism has now forced them to severely limit the workers from Gaza. Today, nearly 50,000 Palestinians have legal permits to work in Israel, and another 30,000 are believed, even without permits, to have been provided employment by Jews in Israel, including the West Bank. Some Israeli manufacturers, such as the Sodastream Company, deliberately placed their factories  in the West Bank to encourage Arabs to work for them. In the case of Sodastream, because of a BDS boycott of their product (for being made in the West Bank), the company was forced to move its operations to pre-1967 Israel, and as a consequence, some Arab workers lost their jobs. AOC clearly has no idea how often Israel has tried to help economically, in ways not always understood, the Palestinians in both the West Bank and Gaza,
AOC agreed with her interviewer that some Jews are “white supremacists.” She offered no examples of such; not a single comment from a single Jew has been offered as evidence of “white supremacism,” not by AOC, or Ilhan Omar, or Rashida Tlaib. not by Human Rights Watch or the Southern Poverty Law Center. Perhaps what she and others who have been making this charge really mean is this: many Jews are glad that President Trump moved the American embassy to Jerusalem, ended the American contribution to the corrupt and bloated UNRWA, and cut all American aid to the Palestinian Authority. And that must mean, in the peculiar logic of AOC and others, that these Jews endorse everything about Trump, including those of his comments — on Charlottesville (“there were good people on both sides”), on Baltimore (“rat-infested”) and on Congressman Elijah Cummings — that have been endlessly described as “racist.” This makes no sense. Russians attacked Islamic State targets in Syria. If we praise them for that, are we also endorsing everything else Vladimir Putin has done? If we are glad that Saudi Arabia is sharing intelligence with Israel, does that mean we approve of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi?
Since AOC has mindlessly embraced this notion of Jews as “white supremacists,” we should ask her to take a look at the Muslim Arab record on “white supremacy,” or rather, at what celebrated Arab and Muslim figures have written about black Africans over the centuries. These include hair-raisingly contemptuous remarks about blacks by many Islamic worthies, such as Ibn Khaldun, and even statements by Muhammad himself in the hadith. AOC should be asked to learn, too, about about the history of the Arab slave trade in Africa, especially that involving African boys who were castrated on site, with a mortality rate of 90%, a slave trade that began earlier, ended later, and claimed many millions more victims, than did the Atlantic Slave Trade. The Arab slave trade ended only because of pressure from Western Infidels. Saudi Arabia and Yemen officially ended slavery only in 1962, and several other Muslim countries ended it even later. Mauritania officially ended slavery in 2007, the last country to do so, but in fact, the Arabs continue to have black slaves, and the estimate of the anti-slavery groups is that there are now 600,000 black slaves in Mauritania, 200,000 black slaves now in Mali, and as many as 875,000 slaves in Niger. Hundreds of thousands of black Africans were enslaved by the Arabs during the civil war in the Sudan. In Libya, a slave market selling Africans has been operated by Arabs during the last two years; the slaves are black Africans who ran out of money while trying to get to Europe. All this deserves the attention of AOC. She needs to learn, too, that there never was an Islamic William Wilberforce, because Muhammad himself, the Perfect Man and Model of Conduct, bought, owned, and traded slaves. That might give her pause.
In the Hadith, we find remarks about blacks such as these:
“Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet said to Abu-Dar, ‘Listen and obey (your chief) even if he is an Ethiopian with a head like a raisin.’ And this: Ahmad ibn Abi Sulayman, the companion of Sahnun said, ‘Anyone who says that the Prophet was black should be killed.” (Ibn Musa al-Yahsubi, Qadi ‘Iyad, p. 375)
And there is this from the celebrated Arab historian Al-Tabari: “Noah prayed that the hair of Ham’s descendants [Africans] would not grow beyond their ears, and that whenever his [Ham’s] descendants met Shem’s, the latter would enslave them.” (Al-Tabari, Vol. 2, p. 21, p. 21)
There is a long history of anti-black remarks among outstanding figures in Islamic history:
Ibn Khaldun (1332–1406) was, among other things, an Islamic jurist, Islamic lawyer, Islamic scholar, Islamic theologian, and hafiz (one who has memorized the entire Qur’an). He is one of the most important figures in Islamic history. Here are two (among many) remarks he makes about black Africans in his Muqaddimah:
Therefore, the Negro nation are, as a rule, submissive to slavery, because [Negroes] have little [that is essentially] human and have attributes that are quite similar to those of dumb animals, as we have stated.
Beyond [known peoples of black West Africa] to the south there is no civilization in the proper sense. There are only humans who are closer to dumb animals than to rational beings. They live in thickets and caves, and eat herbs and unprepared grain. They frequently eat each other. They cannot be considered human beings.
Ibn Sina or Avicenna (980-1037), was another celebrated figure in Islamic history: a hafiz, an Islamic psychologist, scholar, and theologian and, by our lights, a racist: “[Blacks are] people who are by their very nature slaves.”
Ibn Qutaybah (828-889), was a renowned Islamic scholar from Kufa, Iraq: “[Blacks] are ugly and misshapen, because they live in a hot country.”
Nasīr al-Dīn al-Tūsī (1201-1274), was a Shia Muslim Scholar and Grand Ayatollah:
“If (all types of men) are taken, from the first, and one placed after another, like the Negro from Zanzibar, in the Southern-most countries, the Negro does not differ from an animal in anything except the fact that his hands have been lifted from the earth –In no other peculiarity or property – except for what God wished. Many have seen that the ape is more capable of being trained than the Negro, and more intelligent.”
“The Zanj (African) differ from animals only in that] their two hands are lifted above the ground,… Many have observed that the ape is more teachable and more intelligent than the Zanj.”
Al-Muqaddasi (945/946-1000) was a medieval Muslim geographer:
Of the neighbors of the Bujja, Maqdisi had heard that “there is no marriage among them; the child does not know his father, and they eat people — but God knows best. As for the Zanj, they are people of black color, flat noses, kinky hair, and little understanding or intelligence. [Kitab al-Bad’ wah-tarikh, vol.4]
Al-Masudi (896-956), was a Muslim historian and geographer, known as the “Herodotus of the Arabs”:
“Galen says that merriment dominates the black man because of his defective brain, whence also the weakness of his intelligence.” (Al-Masudi, Muruj al-dhahab)
Ibn al-Faqih was a Muslim historian and geographer:
“A man of discernment said: The people of Iraq … do not come out with something between blonde, buff and blanched coloring, such as the infants dropped from the wombs of the women of the Slavs and others of similar light complexion; nor are they overdone in the womb until they are burned, so that the child comes out something between black, murky, malodorous, stinking, and crinkly-haired, with uneven limbs, deficient minds, and depraved passions, such as the Zanj, the Somali, and other blacks who resemble them. The Iraqis are neither half-baked dough nor burned crust but between the two.” (from his Mukhtasar Kitab al-Buldan, 903 AD)
There is much more in this disturbing vein, but what I’ve quoted here should be enough evidence of the deep racism of Muslim Arabs. These views justified the enslavement of blacks by Arabs that began in the 8th century and continued uninterruptedly until it formally ended, under Western pressure, in the 20th century. But in fact the enslavement of blacks by Arabs has continued, despite its official prohibition, in Mauritania, in Mali, in Niger, where a total of 1.5 million black slaves exist at present. There is also that new slave market, in Libya, where black Africans who became stranded in their attempt to make it to Europe by boat, and could not pay their smugglers, have then been sold into slavery by those to whom they owed money.
One hopes AOC will want to reconsider her charge that some Jews are “white supremacists.” Mere repetition of that accusation does not constitute evidence. And perhaps she could do something that would surprise and please many of us. Once having read what has been posted above from Muslim Arab writers about blacks, she would — I am sure — be properly appalled. And if so, AOC could make the cause of freeing the hundreds of thousands of black slaves who still exist in several Afro-Arab lands her very own. Let her introduce a resolution calling on the U.S. government “to apply economic pressure on the governments of Mauritania, Mali, and Niger, so as to end their practice of slavery, and to free the 1.5  million black slaves in those countries.” Surely every member of the House will gladly support it, save for three Defenders of the Faith — Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Andre Carson. As for those three, they will have some explaining to do to the Congressional Black Caucus. I can’t wait.

A look at the long, ugly track record of an anti-Semitic congresswoman

Rashida Tlaib made headlines recently when it was learned that she and fellow congresswoman Ilhan Omar shunned a bipartisan congressional delegation to Israel and announced that they would instead schedule an independent trip – sponsored by the notoriously anti-Israel nongovernmental organization Miftah – to the Jewish state. But Israel’s government – in accordance with an Israeli law barring the issuance of visas to any foreigners who, like Tlaib and Omar, advocate economic and cultural boycotts against Israel – stated that the two congresswomen would not be permitted to enter the country.

Shortly thereafter, the Israeli government softened its stance and agreed to allow Tlaib to enter the West Bank in order to visit her grandmother. But Tlaib, playing the role of martyr, turned down the offer, tweeting: “When I won [election to Congress], it gave the Palestinian people hope that someone will finally speak the truth about the inhumane conditions. I can’t allow the State of Israel to take away that light by humiliating me & use my love for my [grandmother] to bow down to their oppressive & racist policies. Silencing me & treating me like a criminal is not what she wants for me. It would kill a piece of me. I have decided that visiting my grandmother under these oppressive conditions stands against everything I believe in — fighting against racism, oppression & injustice.”

But if we look at the track record of this self-proclaimed champion of justice, we find a long history of Jew-hatred coupled with a pronounced affinity for radical Islamists.

In an October 2015 tweet, for instance, Tlaib linked to an article in The Nation lauding Black Lives Matteractivists in Chicago for supporting “a Palestinian woman threatened with deportation.” The woman in question was Rasmea Odeh, a Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist who had played a central role in a deadly 1969 bombing in Jerusalem.

In December 2017, Tlaib shared a Facebook post in which Muslim activist Linda Sarsour had expressed support for Ahed Tamimi, a 17-year-old Palestinian girl whom Israeli authorities had recently incarcerated for assaulting an IDF soldier and proclaiming that “everyone must” attack Israeli Jews by means of “stabbings, martyrdom-seeking operations [i.e. suicide bombings], throwing stones.” “Absolutely inhumane to target a young girl for fighting against racist policies,” wrote Tlaib. “Her voice should be lifted.”

In February 2018 Tlaib joined a Facebook group called the “Palestinian American Congress,” which commonly demonizes Jews. The group’s Palestinian founder, Maher Abdel-qader: (a) helped raise funds for Tlaib’s political campaign and organized some of her campaign events; (b) has accused Israeli settlers of training children “to terrorize Palestinian civilians”; and (c) once used his Facebook page to share a video claiming that Jews have no historical claim to Israel, and that stories of the Holocaust are gross exaggerations if not complete fabrications.

Upon winning her Democratic congressional primary on August 7, 2018, Tlaib draped herself in a Palestinian flag while celebrating with her supporters. In her victory speech, she promised to “fight back against every racist and oppressive structure that needs to be dismantled.” When she was subsequently asked by Great Britain’s Channel 4 News if she planned to vote against U.S. military aid to Israel, Tlaib responded: “Absolutely, if it has something to do with inequality and not access to people having justice.”

In December 2018, Tlaib become just the second U.S. lawmaker — the first was Ilhan Omar— to publicly voice support for the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. “I personally support the BDS movement,” Tlaib said in an interview with the news website The Intercept. “I want us to see that segregation and how that has really harmed us being able to achieve real peace in that region.”

On January 3, 2019 — her first official day as a new Member of Congress, which was now in Democratic control for the first time in eight years — Tlaib told a raucous crowd of supporters at a MoveOn.org reception near Capitol Hill that Donald Trump’s days as President were numbered: “We’re going to go in there, and we’re going to impeach the motherfu**er.” When she was sworn into office, Tlaib wore a traditional Palestinian gown and took her oath by placing her hand on a copy of the Koran. That same day, a member of Tlaib’s entourage used a post-it bearing the name “Palestine” along with an arrow pointing to Israel on a wall map in Tlaib’s office, to indicate that this should be Israel’s new name.

A notable attendee at Tlaib’s swearing-in ceremony was the executive director and co-founder of Al-Awda, Abbas Hamideh, who has repeatedly: (a) stated his belief that “Israel does not have a right to exist”; (b) equated Zionism with Nazism and the genocidal ideology of ISIS; and (c) voiced support for Hezbollah and its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, whom he regards as “the most honorable Arab-Muslim leader of our lifetime.” Moreover, Hamideh in 2015 had publicly lamented the death of the man he called “the legendary Hezbollah martyr” Samir Kuntar, who years earlier had murdered a 31-year-old Israeli Jew named Danny Haran as the latter’s four-year-old daughter watched in horror, before proceeding to kill the girl as well by smashing her skull against a rock with his rifle. Following Tlaib’s swearing-in ceremony, Hamideh posted to his Twitter account a photo of himself and Tlaib holding up a large painting of the newly elected congresswoman. He also attended a private celebratory dinner with Tlaib, her family, and a number of her friends and activists.

During the first week of January 2019, Tlaib used her Twitter account to condemn her Congressional colleagues who backed a bill designed to allow local, state, and federal agencies to avoid doing business with companies or organizations that supported the Hamas-inspired Boycott-Divestment-Sanction (or BDS) movement against Israel. “They forgot what country they represent,” wrote Tlaib. “This is the U.S. where boycotting is a right & part of our historical fight for freedom & equality,” she tweeted.

In March 2019, Tlaib posed for a photograph with Palestinian activist Nader Jalajel, who in February 2018 had mourned the death of Hamas terrorist Ahmed Jarrar, the leader of a January 2018 shooting attack that killed a rabbi in Israel. On his Facebook page, Jalajel wrote “Allah Yerhamo,” or “May God have mercy on him,” above a photo of a rifle-brandishing Jarrar, who, by Jalajel’s telling, had died “after a long battle resisting the brutal Israeli occupation and defending his people and his land.” In August 2019, Jalajel articulated similar condolences after IDF personnel killed four heavily armed Hamas terrorists who had crossed the border from Gaza into Israel. “LONG LIVE THE RESISTANCE!!!” Jalajel wrote.

And just last month, Tlaib and fellow Democrats Ilhan Omar and John Lewis co-sponsored a House Resolution supporting the BDS movement and comparing Israel to apartheid South Africa and Nazi Germany. The resolution called on House members to oppose “unconstitutional legislative efforts to limit the use of boycotts to further civil rights at home and abroad,” a reference to resolutions that had been passed in several states to prohibit the granting of government contracts to companies that backed BDS.

Rashida Tlaib portrays herself as a voice in the chorus against “racism, oppression & injustice,” but in fact she promotes those abhorrent vices more vocally and more consistently than almost anyone else in American government. By any measure, she is a committed enemy of Israel and the Jewish people.

"The Israeli government’s decision to ban Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar from visiting Palestine is an affront to the American people and their representatives. It is an assault on the Palestinian people’s right to reach out to decision- makers and other actors from around the world. As a sponsor of this trip, MIFTAH worked hard to organize a well-rounded visit for Congresswomen Tlaib, Omar, and Palskett, in order to facilitate their engagement with Palestinian civil society and to provide them with an opportunity to see the reality of occupation for themselves. This is their right and duty as members of Congress, who oversee US policies and actions that affect Palestine, Israel, and countries worldwide.
Like all prolific human rights abusers, Israel wants to impose a blackout on the reality in occupied Palestine and prevent Congresswomen Tlaib, Omar from having direct contact with the Palestinian people, who are subject to Israel’s cruel regime of colonization, oppression, and land grab. Meanwhile, Israel has welcomed AIPAC-organized and funded visits of nearly 80 members of Congress to the region this week. This ban is a clear case of discrimination and hostility based on political views and ethnic background, deserving of moral indignation and unequivocal condemnation in Palestine and the United States."

Ironically, one the “Palestinian realities” of which Miftah reminds us is that the Palestinian Authority (PA) regards Palestinian Arab murderers of American citizens as heroes.
The official Miftah website features an essay by one of the group’s leaders, Ms. Johara Baker, profusely praising Dalal Mughrabi, the murderer of Gail Rubin, the niece of the late US Senator Abraham Ribicoff, Democrat of Connecticut.

There are over 550,000 homeless humans on the streets of American cities.
36,000 of those are youths, 38,000 are veterans and 180,000 are families.
If white privilege exists, why is it that white Americans are the largest racial group of the homeless, making up 49 percent of those on the streets?
However, things are tough all over as black Americans and native Americans have high percentages compared to their numbers in the general population.
Meanwhile, the homeless population is gradually increasing.
