Beware of The ‘Four Blood Moons’ Deception

We learn the future from the Bible. Not from the moon.

As Passover 2014 approaches, there is great fervor and excitement about the “Four Blood Moons” predictions of Pastor John Hagee and Mark Biltz. By looking at the coming occurrence of four lunar eclipses that will occur in 2014 and 2015 that will coincide with Jewish Feast days. The Four Blood Moon Theory promotes the idea that these red moons have historically coincided with major events in Jewish history and thus “something will happen” during the current cycle. But is this theory Biblical? Is this something Christians should be concerned about? This article will show that in fact that this theory is a heresy not in line with Biblical prophecy and is actually encouraging practices that the Bible very strictly forbids.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth is directly in alignment between the moon and the sun, “blocking” the sun’s rays from reflecting off of the moon. However some sunlight filters through the Earth’s atmosphere and hits the moon, giving it a reddish color, hence the name “blood moon.” Hagee credits NASA for confirming that a sequence of four lunar eclipses, or a tetrad will occur in April 2014, on Passover, and then again in September 2014 during the Feast of Tabernacles, or Sukkoth.  The timing is the same for 2015 — a total of four blood moons, all appearing on Jewish feast days.

“The sun and the moon and the Earth are controlled by God almighty,” Hagee said. “He is the one that is getting them in a direct alignment on a certain day at a certain time — but each time, it’s a Passover or Sukkoth. (source). Why NASA’s confirmation matters for Biblical prophetic fulfillment is unknown. But Hagee appeals to NASA to establish his credibility.

The Blood Moon Cycle – Prophetic Warning From God?

According to the Blood Moon theory, the world was warned about all these events.

According to Biltz and Hagee, when this rare occurrence of blood moons falling on Jewish feast days have happened, it has coincided with a major event in Israel’s history. Therefore, since another tetrad cycle has begun, “something big is going to change” or a major event is set to take place (and Biltz originally suggested thatin 2015 Jesus would make His Second Coming but has since backed off). But is this really the case?

The blood moon cycle of 1493-1494 is where Biltz and Hagee claim that the world was being warned about the Jewish people in Spain being expelled. However, when one looks at the actual dates, the Jewish Expulsion took place in 1492- the year before the blood moon cycle even started.

Similarly, with the 1949-1950 blood moon/tetrad cycle, it occurred two years after the United Nation declared Israel a nation and one year after its official formation in 1948. So again, rather than being a “prophetic warning of something major changing!”, the blood moons came after the event. So how could it be a warning?  Why would God “warn” the Jewish people about a persecution event one year after it took place?  The Bible is clear that God warns of events in detail before they take place. Additionally there are other tetrad cycles that have fallen on  Jewish holidays where no events of significance took place – a fact Biltz and Hagee readily admit. So on a basic examination, the Blood Moon Theory does not hold up.

Where Is This In Scripture?

Mark Biltz and John Hagee base their Bible prophecy on findings from NASA.

Hagee has pretty much based his entire premise on Joel 2:31. It is an end times prophecy that concerns the Day of The Lord – the end times outpouring of God’s wrath on the Earth in the final years before the Second Coming of The Lord Jesus Christ. It also serves at a time that God will reconcile Israel back to a believing faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Looking at the verse from Joel in context makes it clear that this pertains to the final years of this age:

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.- Joel 2:1-6.

The setting is proclaimed in verse 1: this is the Day of The Lord -thus it is in the end times. For more information on this, please see our article “The Day of The Lord – The Event That Starts The End of The World”, where we go into detail though all of the Old Testament references to Day of The Lord that confirm that it is and end times period after the Rapture and before the Second Coming of Christ to Earth. It is a very specific time where God will judge the unbelieving world with a series of supernatural punishments.

Hagee’s promotion of the Four Blood Moons has been a huge marketing success.

As stated in our article, the Day of The Lord is also a time when unbelieving Israel will become reconciled to God. This is made clear as well in Joel chapter 2:

Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people. – Joel 2:15-18.

The implication here is that Israel will begin a call to repentance. They will cry out to God for forgiveness and mercy. And the response of God will be to go into action to defend Israel.

Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen: But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things. Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things. – Joel 2:19-20.

God will then conquer the enemies of Israel and bless them with an abundance of goods.

Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.  And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. – Joel 2:22-29.

God will then initiate a spiritual revival in Israel by pouring out The Holy Spirit among the newly reconciled and repentant Israeli believers. This is established by the prophecies that will be spoken among the people. At this point, the context of Joel 2 should be clear: this is an end times revival in Israel. It is a time where God is directly intervening to carry out judgment on enemies of His people and restoring a nation that did not acknowledge Him and seeks repentance. And this is where we approach the critical verse for the Blood Moon Theory:

And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. – Joel 2:30-32.

So The Lord in His mercy provides an indicator of when this great era of Jewish revival will come to pass. “The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.”(Joel 2:31). This will be the indication that the Day of The Lord has started. Lord willing it should be clear that this sign in the heavens is not just a general indication that “something is going to happen.” Notice verse 30 says there will be signs in Heaven and Earth with “blood, fire and pillars of smoke.” Biltz and Hagee make no mention of these signs.

This passage details a very specific sequence of events culminating with the defense of Israel by God and their return to believing faith. This is emphasized as the final verse of the chapter stresses that whosoever calls on God’s name will be“delivered.” It is a time of salvation for the believing remnant of Israel. So why do we not see John Hagee or Mark Biltz mentioning the rest of the prophecies in Joel chapter 2? Why are they not talking about the mighty army that is going to ravage homes and destroy people in a manner never seen before? Why have they not mentioned these aspects and instead picking just one verse out of context? It is because they are not following Scripture but instead looking to the stars, NASA and Google for their prophetic interpretation.

Is The Blood Moon Even Mentioned In The Bible?

Even Prosperity Gospel false preachers are cashing in on the Four Blood Moon frenzy.

Hagee would have his readers and followers believe that the blood moon, which is a lunar eclipse, is what is being described in Joel 2:31. In fact it is not. As explained above a blood moon is a total lunar eclipse – a moment when the Earth comes between the sun and the moon, putting the moon in a complete shadow. The moon during a lunar eclipse appears red in color because of the way light bends around the earth’s atmosphere, scattering short wavelength light (green through violet) and leaving longer wavelength light (red, orange and yellow). It’s why sunsets and sunrises generally are red. During the 20th century, there were 229 lunar eclipses and 85 of those were complete lunar eclipses which lead to the “blood moon.”

Joel 2:31 describes a sign in the sky when the moon is red and the sun is dark.The sun does not turn dark during a lunar eclipse (it looks as it would normally look on any day). The sun looks dark during a solar eclipse – which is when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun thus “blocking” the sun’s light and making it appear black. Thus what Joel 2:31 is describing is something that has never occurred before in history and could only occur by supernatural means. By putting all the focus on the Blood Moons, Hagee and Biltz have successfully ignored the very clear statement about the sun being dark at the same time, making Joel’s prophecy something far different from the naturally occurring lunar eclipse and tetrads.
The Fulfillment Of Joel 2:31

The real blood moon is described in the book of Revelation.

We find the fulfillment of Joel 2:31 at the sixth seal of Revelation chapter 6:

And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? –Revelation 6:12-17.

 This is the one time in scripture where the sun turns dark and the moon turns to blood at the same time. It is the fulfillment of Joel’s prophecy. And as detailed in our the Beginning and End Rapture Series, the 6th seal is the moment when the Day of The Lord begins.  Notice the very specific events that take place: a global earthquake. All people in the world running for their lives. Stars falling from Heaven. But do Blitz and Hagee look to this prophecy and say this will all happen on Passover 2014? No. instead they make vague assertions that God is “trying to tell us something” and “something major” will happen in the Middle East.  The Four Blood Moon theory is not proper Biblical interpretation. It is instead more akin to astrology and horoscopes.

The Heresy of John Hagee and Mark Blitz

Sadly, some Bible teachers are linking the blood moons to the Second Coming.

And as [Jesus] sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. –Matthew 24:3-5.

To no surprise, Hagee and Blitz are both teachers of blatant heresies and Biblical errors. Here is a video for Hagee’s book “In Defense of Israel” where he makes the outrageous claim that Jesus Christ did not come to Earth to be the Messiah:

John Hagee Denies Jesus Christ as Messiah:

These statements amount to pure blasphemy. In Hagee’s book, he attempts to clarify his intent by stating that the Messiah was meant to be a political deliverer – a role which Jesus rejected, not a spiritual savior of souls. Here are some excerpts where Hagee explains his position:

• ..God gave Moses four signs to convince the children of Israel that he was their messiah… He knew he was anointed of God to overthrow Egypt and lead the Jewish people to the promised land.” p. 136.
• “The next two signs God gave Moses were to convince the children of Israel that Moses was their Messiah.” p. 136.

Nowhere in Scripture was Moses ever called a “Messiah.” And he did not consider himself one. We can know this for certain from the book of Hebrews:

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. – Hebrews 11:24-27.

 Moses, who was raised as a royal prince, and son of the of Pharaoh’s daughter, gave up his life of luxury to be with his own people the Israelites. Why? Because he believed the Gospel of Jesus Christ who God prophesied would one day defeat Satan (as recorded in Genesis 3:15, which was written by Moses himself). The Messiah, from the first prophecy ever made, was never a political leader. He was the “seed of the woman” who would one day conquer Satan. And thus Moses, by faith in God’s Word, was willing to suffer hardship in the name of Christ than worry about worldly power and glory – the exact opposite of what Hagee claims a Messiah would be doing. This absurd heresy should be a clear sign that Hagee is a false teacher.

The Bible affirms on more than one occasion that Jesus is indeed the Messiah or Christ (which is the Greek term for the Hebrew word “Messiah”):

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone. – John 1:40-42.

The disciple Andrew readily identified Jesus as the Messiah or Christ. Additionally Jesus identifies Himself as the Messiah:

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.- John 4:25-26.

 Despite these Scriptures, Hagee boldly proclaims in his video: “Jesus refused by word and deed to claim to be the Messiah.” Once again, the flagrant heresy should be a major red flag to anyone buying into the Four Blood Moon Theory.

Hagee also proclaims that Israel never rejected Jesus, because Jesus never offered to be Messiah. Again, the Word of God refutes this claim completely:

Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. -Matthew 23:34-39.

In a very scathing rebuke, The Lord Jesus Christ assails the Pharisees for not just rejecting the men of God sent by Jesus through the centuries of Israel’s history, but for killing them. Jesus then reminds them of His desire to gather them but they “would not.” The offer of Jesus was rejected and again Hagee is in deep spiritual error. These are major false teachings and truly blasphemous statements.

Mark Blitz – The Hebrew Roots Heresy

Mark Biltz predicted the Second Coming would take place in 2015.

Mark Biltz, found of El Shaddai Ministries, is a key figure in the Hebrew Roots Movement – an unbiblical, apostate movement that seeks to return Christians to the Mosaic Law and Old Covenant. Like Hagee, Biltz believes in ethnic salvation – the idea that Jewish people, by lineage, are automatically saved and do no need to hear or believe the Gospel to go to Heaven. Here is an excerpt from a post from his website:

“My goal is not to convert Jews to Christianity but to bring non-Jews to a better understanding of YHVH through a better understanding of Torah. I think most Christians do not know YHVH as He really is but know Him as they have tried to create Him in their image rather than understanding they were created in His image.

Many Christians believe they have a relationship with YHVH but they don’t. As far as “who’s in” and “who is not in” when it comes to a relationship with YHVH I have the same answer. That is above my pay grade! Who am I to say who has a relationship with YHVH and who doesn’t? I am not the door keeper. I don’t know people’s hearts and who am I to say to YHVH who is allowed in the Olam Haba (the age of the Messiah) and who is not. Sorry but that authority was not given to me neither would I want it.

As far as Yeshua goes I believe that He is the one Moses spoke of:
Deuteronomy 18:15 “The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;”

De 18:18 “I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”

 Joseph was not recognized by his brothers because he looked Egyptian and spoke another language. Yet he was the one that brought salvation to Israel. I believe Christianity has hijacked Yeshua and has been presenting an Egyptian which is why Yeshua is not recognized. Just as Jewish children were taken, converted to Christianity and not given back to their parents after the holocaust the same has happened to Yeshua. I believe he desires to go home.” (source).

Once again, if you are a Christian who is buying into the Blood Moon fever, this should be an enormous red flag. Nowhere in Scripture are we told that Jesus “desires to go home” to the Old Testament law. Biltz does not agree with Biblical Christian doctrine and does not believe that Jews even have to believe the Gospel for salvation. He has completely ignored the rebuke Jesus gave to Israel in Matthew 23. He has ignored the fact that all people need the Gospel of Christ to be saved. Leading Christians Into The Occult?

Many ministries have Christians looking to the stars instead of the Bible.

When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. – Deuteronomy 18:9-10.

The Bible contains prophecies that run through the last day of the Earth and into the New Earth that will be created by The Lord. For a believer to gain understanding of interpreting and rightly dividing Bible prophecy, it should come through study of the Scriptures, not the stars. In Deuteronomy 18, God specially referred to those who are “observer of times” – a term for trying to determine the future by looking at constellations or other heavenly bodies, an abomination. Hagee defends his looking to the stars to tell the future by citing Genesis 1:14 –“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” Does this verse mean that Christians are supposed to look to the starts to gain knowledge about the future and to interpret a message from God?

Here is Christian expositor Jonathan Gill’s commentary on the verse:

“..for “signs” of good and bad weather; for the times of ploughing, sowing, reaping, &c. and for the “seasons” of summer and winter, spring and autumn; for “days” by a circular motion for the space of twenty four hours; and for “years” by annual motion for the space of three hundred sixty five days and odd hours. The Targum of Jonathan is, and let them be for signs and the times of the feasts, and to reckon with them the number of days, and, sanctify the beginnings of the months, and the beginnings of the years, and the intercalations of months and years, the revolutions of the sun, and the new moons, and cycles.” (source).

 Celestial bodies light our world and provide a way to track time. We can keep the calendar and know the seasons of the year from the sun, moon and stars. The beauty of outer space and its vastness provide inherent proof of God’s existence and creative power at work. But these truths are a far cry from what Hagee and Biltz are teaching – which is looking to a lunar moon cycle to try and determine future events. In the book of Daniel, the prophet was able to identify and interpret dreams of King Nebuchadnezzar through inspiration of God. When the astrologers and the enchanters failed, the Word of God was true.

Not only that, The Lord pronounced a harsh judgment for those who dabbled in occult practices such as astrology or horoscopes:

Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it. – Isaiah 47:13-14.

Rather than worry that “something” may happen, we should rest on the more sure word of prophecy that we have in Scripture. Pray for Biltz and Hagee to repent of this false teaching and for Christians to use discernment when the latest prophecy craze is presented before them. Christians should indeed be interested in knowing the future and end time prophecy. But it can all be found in the pages of the Holy Bible.

I will have an in-depth report tomorrow, but here are some key facts. I arrived home in Chicago late last night after cutting my week-long visit to Canada short to avoid a second hearing with Canadian Border Service agents on whether I could stay in the country.

The "Pro-Gay Thought Police" seemed to follow me wherever I went in Canada. When I entered the country through Regina [Saskatchewan] Airport last Thursday around 10:00 PM, I was detained for more than three hours  as Border Security agents rifled through my luggage, laptop--and even my cell phone--searching for material that would violate Canada's "Hate Propaganda" law. I hope that most Americans would be as shocked as I was to see government bureaucrats searching through my personal items for evidence of ideas and advocacy it wants to ban (in this case Judeo-Christian morality opposed to homosexual sin).

After the long wait and further questions (including reviewing the AFTAH website), I was formally denied entry into Canada, but elected to appeal the decision with the help of a Canadian attorney. The next day, as Whatcott and I went to the Border Security office at the airport prepared to make our appeal, we quickly discovered that the decision to overturn my entry ban was a done deal. Later we learned that political pressure had been brought to bear on Customs by some conservative Members of Parliament.

A huge THANK YOU to all who prayed for me and offered help to get me into Canada so I could honor my speaking commitment and thwart the arrogant political bullying of leftists who attempted to decide for EVERYONE who could speak at the pro-life event!

Once approved to enter Canada. I stood outside the airport before an array of Canadian reporters and showed them my passport allowing me to stay in Canada until Thursday, April 17 (tomorrow), as long as I did not violate any Canadian laws.

I gave my speech at the Saskatchewan Pro-Life Association and it was well-received, except by a group of protesters outside with signs--who were graciously allowed to attend the conference by SPLA organizers despite their previous attempt to block me as a speaker.

Many attendees expressed their gratitude at being able to hear a presentation on the homosexual agenda, and I was thrilled to have the support of Canadian pro-life hero Linda Gibbons, who has spent many months in jail for refusing to honor "bubble zone" speech codes outside abortion mills. I stressed that Christians need to be as principled against the homosexual activist agenda--including homosexual "marriage"--as they are in defending unborn life.

On Monday, I ventured out with Bill Whatcott to be part of his peaceful pro-life and anti-homosexual-agenda protest at the University of Regina. I brought along an AFTAH flier titled,' "Is All Love 'Equal'?" to educate students on the disproportionate health risks of LGBT behaviors (e.g., "The incidence of anal cancer is approximately 80 times that of the general population."--HIV Essentials).

Immediately upon entering the campus, we were informed by a U.-Regina official that we were not welcome and ordered to leave. Bill responded that he had a right to be at the public campus under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and that he would not leave. Whatcott's right to protest at college campuses had already been affirmed twice by Canadian courts.

Two hours later, police arrived to inform Whatcott that if he did vacate the premises, he would be arrested. Ten minutes after that, Bill and I were being led away by police in hand-cuffs. I felt someone needed to join Bill in standing up for the simple right to speak in defense of biblical truth at a publicly-funded university. We were charged at first with trespassing but later it was changed to "mischief."

I was taken to the Regina Police Headquarters with my hands cuffed behind my back. There, the police took everything on my person except my socks, jeans, underwear and a T-shirt. As they would treat a common criminal, they took my eye-glasses, my wedding ring, my watch, etc.--apparently part of standard procedure to prevent inmates from harming themselves. It seemed a bit of overkill to me, but I suppose they were under orders to treat me the same as other inmates.

Inside the small, 5-and-a-half by 8-foot jail cell with nothing but a cement cot and a metal sink/toilet, I asked for a Bible to ready, but they would not provide one. I'm still trying to figure out how a Bible could be used for suicide. Anyway, I had a lot of time to think and pray so that's what I did. It was my first time in a prison and I wouldn't recommend it!

Bill was released after a couple of hours, but I was kept in jail because now the Border Security agency wanted to take over my case. I was told that since I had been arrested by Canadian police, I had allegedly violated the sole condition of my entry into Canada. (I responded that neither Bill nor I believed we were violating Canadian law, as Bill's right to protest at public universities--including U.-Regina--had already been validated in the courts.)

Because of Customs' involvement, I had to spend the night in the holding cell. Thank God Bill had graciously given me his cot cushion or I would have been sleeping on cement. The next day, I was informed that there would be another hearing about whether I could stay in the country. Since I had planned to leave Thursday morning anyway--and faced the prospect of at least another day in prison, I told the Border Security agent in charge (Joe) that I would be willing to leave right away since being expelled might be the verdict of the government anyway.

From that point it was all about finding the quickest way to get me out of Canada, and I was soon on a 2:30 PM flight to Denver. From the Canadian border authorities' perspective, I suppose, it was problem solved! How sad that a major democracy like Canada expended such energy and resources in handling the case of a single Christian family advocate attempting to spend a week in their country!

I now face a preliminary hearing May 26 in Canada. Hopefully, Whatcott or our lawyer, Tom Schuck, will be able to plead "not guilty" for me so I won't have to go to Canada for that. Then, if the "mischief" charges are not dropped--and Schuck says there is a good chance that they could be--I will face a trial on the Mischief charge in Canada.

Please pray that this will be resolved without either Bill or me being convicted of a crime simply for sharing the truth about sexual morality and abortion to college kids.

An American anti-gay activist and a Canadian abortion activist were arrested at the University of Regina Monday. Peter LaBarbera, the controversial head of an American lobby group that has been labelled a hate group by the South Poverty Law Center, and Bill Whatcott, an abortion activist who has a history of legal troubles in Saskatchewan, were taken into custody by the Regina Police Service. They were arrested for trespassing after being asked to leave campus and refusing.

In a viral blog post, a Colorado public school teacher resigned from her position as a high school English teacher in protest to Common Core standards. Pauline Hawkins wrote in part:

"I can no longer be a part of a system that continues to do the exact opposite of what I am supposed to do as a teacher - I am supposed to help them think for themselves, help them find solutions to problems, help them become productive members of society. Instead, the emphasis on Common Core Standards and high-stakes testing is creating a teach-to-the-test mentality for our teachers and stress and anxiety for our students. Students have increasingly become hesitant to think for themselves because they have been programmed to believe that there is one right answer that they may or may not have been given yet. That is what school has become: A place where teachers must give students "right" answers, so students can prove (on tests riddled with problems, by the way) that teachers have taught students what the standards have deemed are a proper education."

Hawkins has been teaching for 11 years at Liberty High School in Colorado Springs, but her tenure will come to an end when the school year ends. The Common Core standards have frustrated many teachers around the country after being created by the National Governors Association and adopted in 44 states.

Hawkins joined Martha MacCallum this morning on America's Newsroom, explaining that what has frustrated her the most about Common Core is watching her own son, a third-grader, as he progresses through elementary school.

"He's struggling to keep up with where they want him to be and he'd come home every day, crying, [saying] 'I hate school,'" she said, adding that the government standards fail to take into account that every student learns differently.

"They have certain skills that they want the kids to have at a certain time, at a certain age, at a certain grade level. And kids just aren't made like that. We're all different," said Hawkins, who added that there are "good intentions" behind the standards, but the implementation is much too rigid.

Hawkins said she and her colleagues have become overwhelmed by paperwork and data collection, taking valuable time away from creating lesson plans and helping students learn.

Dear Administrators, Superintendent, et al.:

This is my official resignation letter from my English teaching position.

I’m sad to be leaving a place that has meant so much to me. This was my first teaching job. For eleven years I taught in these classrooms, I walked these halls, and I befriended colleagues, students, and parents alike. This school became part of my family, and I will be forever connected to this community for that reason.

I am grateful for having had the opportunity to serve my community as a teacher. I met the most incredible people here. I am forever changed by my brilliant and compassionate colleagues and the incredible students I’ve had the pleasure of teaching.

I know I have made a difference in the lives of my students, just as they have irrevocably changed mine. Teaching is the most rewarding job I have ever had. That is why I am sad to leave the profession I love.

Even though I am primarily leaving to be closer to my family, if my family were in Colorado, I would not be able to continue teaching here. As a newly single mom, I cannot live in this community on the salary I make as a teacher. With the effects of the pay freeze still lingering and Colorado having one of the lowest yearly teaching salaries in the nation, it has become financially impossible for me to teach in this state.

Along with the salary issue, ethically, I can no longer work in an educational system that is spiraling downwards while it purports to improve the education of our children.

I began my career just as No Child Left Behind (NCLB) was gaining momentum. The difference between my students then and now is unmistakable. Regardless of grades or test scores, my students from five to eleven years ago still had a sense of pride in whom they were and a self-confidence in whom they would become someday. Sadly, that type of student is rare now. Every year I have seen a decline in student morale; every year I have more and more wounded students sitting in my classroom, more and more students participating in self-harm and bullying. These children are lost and in pain.

It is no coincidence that the students I have now coincide with the NCLB movement twelve years ago–and it’s only getting worse with the new legislation around Race to the Top.

I have sweet, incredible, intelligent children sitting in my classroom who are giving up on their lives already. They feel that they only have failure in their futures because they’ve been told they aren’t good enough by a standardized test; they’ve been told that they can’t be successful because they aren’t jumping through the right hoops on their educational paths. I have spent so much time trying to reverse those thoughts, trying to help them see that education is not punitive; education is the only way they can improve their lives. But the truth is, the current educational system is punishing them for their inadequacies, rather than helping them discover their unique talents; our educational system is failing our children because it is not meeting their needs.

As unique as my personal situation might be, I know I am not the only teacher feeling this way. Instead of weeding out the “bad” teachers, this evaluation system will continue to frustrate the teachers who are doing everything they can to ensure their students are graduating with the skills necessary to become civic minded individuals. We feel defeated and helpless: If we speak out, we are reprimanded for not being team players; if we do as we are told, we are supporting a broken system.

Since I’ve worked here, we have always asked the question of every situation: “Is this good for kids?” My answer to this new legislation is, “No. This is absolutely not good for kids.” I cannot stand by and watch this happen to our precious children–our future. The irony is I cannot fight for their rights while I am working in the system. Therefore, I will not apply for another teaching job anywhere in this country while our government continues to ruin public education. Instead, I will do my best to be an advocate for change. I will continue to fight for our children’s rights for a free and proper education because their very lives depend upon it.

My final plea as a district employee is that the principals and superintendent ask themselves the same questions I have asked myself: “Is this good for kids? Is the state money being spent wisely to keep and attract good teachers? Can the district do a better job of advocating for our children and become leaders in this educational system rather than followers?” With my resignation, I hope to inspire change in the district I have come to love. As Benjamin Franklin once said: “All mankind is divided into three classes: Those that are immovable, those that are movable, and those that move.” I want to be someone who moves and makes things happen. Which one do you want to be?

Tony Palmer states he receives financial support from Kenneth Copeland and claims he has been “consecrated” by Pope Francis to be a bridge for further unity among Protestants and Catholics. You may have seen the message from the Pope that Tony Palmer played at Kenneth Copeland’s convention. It is included in the below video.

According to Palmer, “…the protest of Luther is over. And therefore now we are all living in a post-Protestant era…” (8:00 in video)

But…is unity with the Catholic Church even possible?

Palmer says, “It’s the glory that glues us together, not the doctrines. If you accept that Christ is living in me and the presence of God is in me and the presence of God is in you that’s all we need. Because God will sort out all the doctrines when we get upstairs.” (13:48)

Really? The Lord will sort out all the doctrines in heaven? Christ is very concerned with doctrine (teaching) and deception cannot take place without departure from His doctrine.

Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. (1 Timothy 4:16)

Palmer, from the Anglican tradition, has served three popes. He uses a 1999 document between Catholics and Lutherans (?) as indication that the Catholic Church now lines up with Protestant (biblical) understanding of justification.

Pope Francis is clearly a kind man, and a humble man. But that is not the issue. I am grateful for the stand Catholics take on abortion. I am very grateful for my Catholic education and my Catholic friends. But that is not the issue.

Catholicism is not biblical Christianity.

The worldwide Anglican Communion is composed of some 80 million members * in 164 countries, including the “mother church,” the Church of England, and the Episcopal Church in America. (* A large percentage of Anglican members are “invisible” because they are church members due to the fact that they were baptized as infants and perhaps catechized, but they do not participate in the functional life of the churches.)
The Anglican Church is permeated with theological liberalism at every level. 

Consider some examples:

In 1953, Archbishop of Canterbury William Temple, in his book Nature and God, said, “... there is no such thing as revealed truth.”

In 1960, Episcopalian Bishop James Pike said the doctrine of the Trinity is “outdated, incomprehensible and nonessential” (The Christian Century, Dec. 21, 1960). (Billy Graham was a guest at Pike’s ordination on May 15, 1958 and praised the liberal bishop in glowing terms. Nine days later, Graham invited Pike to sit on the platform during his evangelistic crusade in San Francisco and had him lead in prayer. On Dec. 4, 1960, Graham spoke in Pike’s pulpit at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco.) 

In 1961, Archbishop of Canterbury Michael Ramsey said, “... heaven is not a place for Christians only. ... I expect to see many present day atheists there” (London Daily Mail, Oct. 2, 1961). That same year, Bishop James Pike called the virgin birth of Christ a “primitive myth” and said that Joseph was probably Jesus’ real father (Redbookmagazine, August 1961). He also said that Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden, heaven, and hell are myths. (Billy Graham invited Ramsey to the platform during his 1975 crusade in Brazil and allowed him to speak to the crowd (Fundamental Evangelistic Association News & Views, May-June 1975).

In 1963, Episcopal theologian Paul van Buren started the God-is-dead movement with the publication of his book The Secular Meaning of the Gospel. That same year, Anglican Bishop John Robinson said in his book Honest to God, “The whole scheme of a supernatural being coming down from heaven to ‘save’ mankind from sin ... is frankly incredible to man ‘come of age.’”

In 1967, after heresy charges were brought against Bishop James Pike, the Episcopal Church in America adopted a resolution declaring that all heresy was out of date. That year, Canon Hugh Montifiore of Cambridge University’s main church said, “Jesus might have been a homosexual” (Christianity Today, Aug. 18, 1967). (Montifiore was the advisor for the Cambridge Billy Graham Television Crusade.) 

In 1968, the Church of England’s Lambeth Conference voted that Anglican clergy are no longer required to agree to the denomination’s 39 articles of faith.

In 1976, John Spong was ordained as the bishop of the Episcopal diocese of Newark, New Jersey, even though he denied practically every doctrine of the Christian faith. 

In 1977, Bishop Paul Moore of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City ordained lesbian Ellen Barrett as a priest. Barrett told Time magazine that her lesbian love affairs gave her the “strength to serve God.”

In 1978, Anglican Bishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa said the Holy Spirit shined through Mahatma Gandhi, who is a Hindu (St. Alban’s Cathedral, Pretoria, South Africa, Nov. 23, 1978).

In 1980, Tutu said, “It may be that Jesus was an illegitimate son” (Cape Times, Oct. 24, 1980).

In 1982, Archbishop of Canterbury Robert Runcie said he was an agnostic as to why Jesus suffered on the cross (Sunday Times Weekly Review, London, April 11, 1982). That same year, Episcopal Bishop John Spong, writing in the Christian Century (Jan. 6-13, 1982), condemned traditional evangelistic and missionary endeavors and said that biblical absolutism is “a vice.” (Billy Graham was one of the honored guests at Runcie’s ordination in March 1980, and Graham spoke highly of the liberal archbishop during his evangelistic crusades in England in 1984 and 1989.)

In 1984, David Jenkins, Anglican Bishop of Durham, described Christ’s resurrection as “a conjuring trick with bones” (“English Bishop Calls Christ’s Resurrection Conjuring Trick,” AP, St. Louis Post Dispatch, Oct. 28, 1984). Jenkins also said, “The Christian is not bound up with freak biology or corpses getting up and walking around” and “You don’t have to believe in the virgin birth.” (On July 9, 1984, three days after Jenkins was consecrated bishop, lightning struck his cathedral and caused extensive damage. A spokesman for the fire brigade said that though the roof was fully wired with lightning rods, none of them worked that morning; the smoke detectors in the ceiling did not go off, even though they were tested only a month before; and there was no thunder accompanying the lightning. EP News Service, Dec. 21, 1984).

In 1984, the Associated Press reported that only 20 of 31 Church of England bishops polled insisted that Christians must accept Jesus as both God and man.

In 1985, the Jesus Seminar was founded with the help of Episcopalians, including Marcus Borg of Oregon State University. The Seminar claims that Jesus spoke only about 20% of the things attributed to him in the New Testament and that the Jesus described in the Bible is largely a fiction. They claim he wasn’t born of a virgin, didn’t walk on the water, didn’t rise bodily from the dead, and had no intention of starting a new Christian religion. They also claim that there was no Jewish trial of Jesus before the crucifixion and the Jewish crowd did not participate in his condemnation.

In 1985 the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Minneapolis ran an advertising campaign which included this slogan: “The Episcopal Church welcomes you. Regardless of race, creed, color or the number of times you’ve been born.” Twenty Episcopal churches in the Memphis, Tennessee, area ran an advertisement which stated, “In an atmosphere of absolute right and wrongs, here’s a little room to breathe. ... the Episcopal Church is totally committed to the preservation of open dialogue and undogmatic faith. We exist to tell the world about a God who loves us regardless of what we’ve done or what we believe. Even if we do not believe in Him, He believes in us. We do not suffocate with absolutes.” This, of course, is not biblical Christianity; it is gross apostasy.

When Edmond Lee Browning was elected “presiding bishop” of the Episcopal Church in September 1985, he “made it clear that he disagrees with the church’s official opposition to the ordination of practicing homosexuals” (Religious News Service, Sept. 11, 1985). He stated, “I would sincerely hope the Episcopal Church can say that there are no outcasts, but embrace all people and all cultures.” He was one of 20 bishops who signed a 1979 statement calling the church’s position on gays “a cruel denial of the sexual being of homosexual persons” and a “condemnatory judgment” that made them second-class citizens in the church. 

In 1986, Anglican Bishop David Jenkins got a standing ovation from the general synod of the Church of England when he defended his doubts about the virgin birth and bodily resurrection of Christ (Associated Press, July 7, 1986). Jenkins called the God of the Bible “a cultic idol” (Ecumenical Press Service, July 16-21, 1986).

In 1987, a panel of seven Episcopal bishops dismissed heresy charges against Bishop John Spong.

In 1988, Spong published his book Living in Sin: A Bishop Rethinks Human Sexuality. He said, “The time has surely come not just to tolerate, or even to accept, but to celebrate and welcome the presence among us of our gay and lesbian fellow human beings” (p. 199). That year Spong visited a Buddhist temple and said, “As the smell of incense filled the air, I knelt before three images of the Buddha, feeling that the smoke could carry my prayers heavenward. It was for me a holy moment for I was certain that I was kneeling on holy ground” (“A Dialogue in a Buddhist Temple,” John Spong, The Voice, Jan. 1989).

In January 1989, a committee composed of five Episcopal bishops unanimously dismissed a second set of heresy charges that had been brought against Bishop John Spong. Toward the end of that year, Spong ordained the first openly practicing homosexual to the Episcopal priesthood. The man, Robert Williams, was diagnosed with AIDS less than two years later. 

According to Integrity, a pro-homosexual Episcopal group, at least 50 practicing homosexuals had been ordained to the priesthood by 1991. 

In November 1991, John Spong conducted a seminar in Bangor, Pennsylvania, entitled “Exorcising Fundamentalism, Sexual Phobias and Other Demons.” 

In 1993, a survey of nearly 20,000 Episcopalians showed that seventy percent believed “faithful Christians can be sexually active gays and lesbians” (Christian News, Nov. 1, 1993). Seventy-five percent approved of living with someone of the opposite sex without marriage.

In 1994, it was reported by the Sunday Times (July 31) in London that at least 100 Anglican priests are atheists who do not believe in “an external, supernatural God.”

In 1996, Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey lashed out at fundamentalists who place the Bible “above and beyond human inquiry” (Christian News, Dec. 9, 1996). That same year, the doctrinal commission of the Church of England said hell is not a place of fire and eternal torment. And Episcopal Bishop John Spong wrote in his paper that the image of God in the Bible is “no longer operative” (ENI, Dec. 6, 1996).

In 1997, a survey found that 31% of Anglican vicars in England do not believe in the virgin birth (Alliance Life, March 12, 1997). Actually that figure would probably have been much higher had the survey attempted to discover the number of vicars who believe in the virgin birth only in a figurative manner. 

In his 1991 book Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism, Episcopal Bishop John Spong said the apostle Paul was “a self hating, repressed homosexual.” That year, Spong ordained another homosexual priest, Barry Stopfel. Lesbian Episcopal priest Carter Heyward delivered the ordination sermon. When Stopfel’s male “lover” was introduced, the audience applauded. 

In 1998 Episcopalian Bishop John Spong said, “I would choose to loathe rather than to worship a deity who required the sacrifice of his son” (Christianity Today, June 15, 1998). That same year, retiring Episcopal Presiding Bishop Edmond Browning said, “It is time to move past using literalistic readings of the Bible to create prejudices against our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters” (Calvary Contender, May 1, 1998).

In 2002, Richard Harries, Anglican Bishop of Oxford, said Christians should pray to “God the Mother” (The Times, Nov. 3, 2002). That same year, retired Bishop Spong proposed a “new Christianity,” which must be able to “incorporate all of our reality. It must be able to allow God and Satan to come together in each of us. ... It must unite Christ with Antichrist, Jesus with Judas, male with female, heterosexual with homosexual” (World, July 8, 2002).

In April 2003, Episcopalian bishop Charles Bennison said that Jesus Christ was a sinner (Worthy News, April 14, 2003).

On June 7, 2003, the Diocese of New Hampshire elected the first openly homosexual bishop in the history of the Episcopal Church USA. The election was confirmed on August 5 by the General Convention meeting in Minneapolis. Thirteen years ago the newly elected bishop, V. Gene Robinson, broke his marriage vows when he left his wife and two young daughters and moved in with his male partner, Mark Andrew. In a speech in April 29, 2000, the day before a homosexual march in Washington, D.C., Robinson said: “... we are worthy to hold our heads high as gay folk--NOT because we’ve merely decided we are worthy, but because God has proclaimed it so. That we are loved beyond our wildest imagining by a God who made us the way we are and proclaimed it good. We proclaim today that we too read our Bibles, and through the voices of its many witnesses, we hear God’s voice--NOT saying ‘You are an abomination,’ but rather, ‘You are my beloved.’ We lay an equal claim to a savior who loves us as we are and who died to save us from our ‘manifold sins and wickedness,’ which does NOT include our being gay. And we come here today, laying claim to our full membership--our FULL membership--in the Body of Christ.”

In June 2006, the national convention of the Episcopal Church in America voted overwhelmingly against a resolution stating “an unchanging commitment to Jesus Christ as the son of God, the only name by which any person may be saved. More than seven tenths of the House of Deputies rejected the motion. One of those who voted against the resolution, a “Rev. McDowell” of North Carolina, told VirtueOnline that “how one lives his life is the more important issue than whether one affirms Jesus as Lord” and stated his conviction that all men are already children of God. 

The 2006 Episcopal convention elected the ultra-liberal Katharine Jefferts Schori to be the presiding bishop for a nine-year term. In her first sermon in that capacity she referred to “our mother Jesus,” claiming that he gave birth to a new creation on the cross and implying that all are his children. Later she told the Washington Post that those who believe that the words of the Bible have only one possible interpretation are guilty of idolatry. She said, “I’m encouraging people to look beyond their favorite understandings” (Douglas LeBlanc, “Two Minds in One Episcopal Body,” Christian Research Journal, vol. 29, no. 5, 2006). 

At the same convention, Louie Crew and some other voting representatives (called deputies) referred to the Holy Spirit as “she.” The homosexual bishop Gene Robinson said the Holy Spirit “is that part of God that refuses to be confined and contained in the little boxes we have for God” (“Two Minds in One Episcopal Body,” Christian Research Journal, vol. 29, no. 5, 2006). He said, further, “We don’t worship a God who is all locked up in the Scripture of 2,000 years ago.” He quoted John Fortunato, a homosexual author who claims that God visited him and confirmed that homosexuality is fine if it is “loving.” He said, “God smiled and said quietly, ‘How can loving be wrong? All love comes from me.” 

On September 14, 2008, the Church of England officially apologized to Charles Darwin for rejecting his theory of evolution. It said: “Charles Darwin, 200 years from your birth, the Church of England owes you an apology for misunderstanding you and, by getting our first reaction wrong, encouraging others to misunderstand you still” (“Church Makes ‘Ludicrous’ Apology,” The Daily Mail, Sept. 13, 2008). The statement was written by Malcolm Brown, who sits on the Archbishops’ Council, the Church of England’s managing body, headed by the Archbishop of Canterbury (Rowan Williams). Its argument that the theory of evolution is not incompatible with Christian teaching is patently ridiculous. The Bible plainly says that the world was created by God in six days, that the plant and animal life was made to reproduce after its own kind, that man was made in God’s image, that he sinned against God, and that the world was cast into fallen chaos. This fits perfectly with the condition that we see in the world today as well as the archaeological and geological records. If there was no divine creation, if man is a product of evolution, then Genesis is a myth, the fall is a fable, there is no purpose to life, no afterlife, and no salvation. If the account of Adam is a legend, then Jesus Christ’s apostles were deceived and the gospel they preached a delusion, because they mentioned Adam seven times in their writings, describing him always as a historical figure. 

On May 16, 2009, the bells of the Anglican Cathedral of Liverpool pealed out John Lennon’s atheistic song “Imagine” three times. A spokesperson for the cathedral said, “We feel this performance has inspired many people to think about their relationship with God in their lives” (“Imagine That,” The Daily Mail, May 17, 2009). Indeed, as we have seen, many members of the Anglican Church have no problem imagining with Lennon that there is no heaven or hell. John Lennon was anti-christ. His book A Spaniard in the Works portrayed Jesus as El Pifico, a “garlic eating, stinking little yellow, greasy fascist ****** Catholic Spaniard.” In this wicked book, Lennon further blasphemed the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In the song “I Found Out,” Lennon sang, “There ain’t no Jesus gonna come from the sky,” and in his song “God,” he said, “I don’t believe in Bible. I don’t believe in Jesus. I just believe in me.” In an interview with a British newspaper Lennon defined God in these words: “All the energy is God. Your own energy and their energy, whether doing god-like things or ungodly things” (The Daily Sketch, Oct. 9, 1967). Lennon and Yoko Ono were heavily involved in occultism. The books Hellhounds on Their Trail by Gary Patterson, Nowhere Man: The Final Days of John Lennon by Robert Rosen, and Lennon in America by Geoffrey Giuliano describe how the Lennons purchased entire sections of occult literature in bookstores, consulted tarot cards, astrologers, and psychics, learned how to cast spells, sought magical power from Egyptian artifacts, and believed in reincarnation. 

Following a vote in May 2009 by the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland to approve the appointment of a homosexual pastor, Desmond Tutu, Anglican Bishop Emeritus of Cape Town, South Africa, voiced his approval saying that churches should not be discussing “who goes to bed with whom” (“Desmond Tutu Endorses Homosexual Ministers,” LifeSiteNews.com, May 29, 2009). The homosexual pastor, Scott Rennie, was ordained the pastor of Queen’s Cross Church in Aberdeen in 2008, but his appointment was protested and brought before the denomination’s ruling body. Like Vickie Gene Robinson, who was ordained a bishop in the Episcopal Church of America in 2003, Rennie divorced his wife to live carnally with a man. This is a double sin. First, there is the sin of breaking one’s solemn marriage vows before Almighty God. Second, there is the sin of sodomy. Yet these men are so spiritually blind that they claim to hold the moral high ground! (The Church of Scotland is not part of the Anglican communion, but Tutu is.)

At its annual convention in 2012, the Episcopal Church in America endorsed the blessing of “same-sex unions” and voted in favor of “transgender clergy” (Rob Kerby, “Why Is the Episcopal Church Near Collapse?” Beliefnet.com, July 13, 2012). Presiding Bishop Katharine Jeffferts Schori called God the “Big Man.” 

In 2013, the Church of England “dropped its ban on gay clergy in civil partnerships becoming bishops” and a study group proposed that the Church “be able to recognize and celebrate same-sex marriages and partnerships in church services” (“Church of England Proposes Celebrating Gay Marriage,” Newsmax.com, Nov. 28, 2013).

In 2014, V. Gene Robinson, the first openly homosexual bishop in the Anglican church, announced that he is divorcing his “partner,” Mark Andrew. The two “married” in 2010 when same-sex marriage was legalized in New Hampshire (“First Openly Homosexual Episcopal Bishop Divorces,” OneNewsNow, May 4, 2014). In 1990, Robinson broke his marriage vows when he left his wife and two young daughters and moved in with Andrew.__
