It amazes me to think that Americans will literally take all day and all night to prove a point when it comes to propping up their favorite politicians. Yet, when it comes time to deal with the politicians for advocating the very crimes that America’s children are dealing with, they just can’t find the time to actually love on them enough to actually stand up and fight for them (James 2:14-26).

I knew when writing this column that I was writing to a nation that already has given pass to a corrupt government that sanctions sodomy, which American law condemns in all 50 states (read your state statute), as well as the murder of the innocent (Proverbs 6:17), which is a disastrous combination (Psalm 9:17; Proverbs 14:34).

As the American people are continuously and incrementally being desensitized, last week National Geographic took the time to dare the justice of God by boasting of the confusion (Daniel 9:7) that is being laid onto the backs of America’s children through the exploitation of a 9-year-old boy on their front cover.

This is European tyranny, and if you want to advocate what God condemns by sowing what the Europeans have sown, you are going to reap what they have been reaping (Romans 6:23; Galatians 6:7).

It has been spoon feed to the American sheeple that these distorted sodomites that have chosen the acts of the abominable (Deuteronomy 30:19) wanted to just be left alone, when in fact these sodomites have done just the exact opposite. They have attacked anyone and everyone that would stand on the side of the law, which calls these crimes for what they are, “crimes against nature” (Romans 1:24). All the while, the children have been the end aim and Americans know this.

National Geographic has hailed the cover as progress after decades of marginalization and discrimination.

National Geographic unveiled its January issue featuring the young boy, dressed as a girl, from Kansas last week. Wearing hot pink cheetah pants and a matching T-shirt.

The little boy said of himself, “The doctor said that when I was born that I was a boy but I knew in my heart that I was a girl. I am made up of some boy body parts but that is not wrong, that is o.k.” He said this as if to suggest that God somehow made a mistake. Not!

These parents need to be held responsible for child abuse and so do the people that help advocate these crimes. It is their duty and obligation before God to raise them according to the laws of God, which are foundational law in the United States of America (Proverbs 22:6; Luke 7:35).

Like that of anything else the media wants to advocate, they want you to believe that everyone, for the most part, is in support of what these sodomites advocate. The opposite is true. Furthermore, the mother of this young boy has a whopping 2,000 followers and the YouTube video where the little boy is being led about as to what to answer when questioned, has had the comments disabled. I will tell you why they are disabled. Like that of the control the media wants over the minds of the people, they do not want you to know of the outrage that is taking place over this issue.

“60 Minutes” in Australia, did an expose of “Worldwide Pedophile Network,” where the politicians were being exposed for their crimes against children (Romans 1:24). They also interviewed an individual who was advocating the normalization of sexual consent of adults with children. The report on You Tube has been conveniently scrubbed.

In America, this has been exposed over and over again only to be blacked out by a media that is bought and paid for. This is to the demise of America as we know it.

Why would the modern American Church stand down concerning the homosexual agenda? (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:24).

Why are politicians in Washington D.C. voting in favor of what God calls an Abomination? (Exodus 22:22-24; Luke 17:2). They know that if they can demoralize the people, they can rule with an easy hand.

While the news media provides wall-to-wall coverage of President-elect Donald Trump 

and his family -- most of it consisting of negative stories -- and continue to portray a 

failed president as having eight-years of achievement, they are once again purposely 

ignoring the federal government breaking laws, regulations and agreements regarding 

immigration.

After Governor Greg Abbott of Texas clearly stated that Texas is stopping the resettlement of so-called Syrian asylum-seekers, the President Barack Obama and his minions went behind Gov. Abbott's back secretly colluding with the Democratic mayor of Texas' most liberal city.

Austin, Texas, Mayor Steve Adler offered illegal aliens continued sanctuary and the Syrian Muslims are being provided with a welcome mat, according to a top nonprofit, non-government organization (NGO) based in the nation's capital. The plan is said to entail the continued sending of unvetted Syrian Muslims to the Lone Star State, according to the government watchdog group Judicial Watch.

Gov. Abbott, who previously served as the Texas Attorney General and is no stranger to large-scale litigation, initiated a court action to end the flow of Syrian and other Middle Eastern-North African Muslims. During Christmas week, Judicial Watch successfully obtained records of the administration’s secretive program to send more Syrian Muslims to Texas, in spite of opposition from state officials over the security threats created by refugees from an Arab nation that’s a hotbed of terrorism.

"As is common for President [Obama], he is welcoming Muslims by the thousands into the United States but the number of Syrian Christians is fewer than 1% of the number of Muslims," said former police anti-terrorism unit member Daniel Fierstein, "And Obama knows that the majority of Americans oppose his actions," he added.

According to officials at Judicial Watch: "The White House looked to Austin [Texas] Mayor Steve Adler, going around the governor to confer with a city leader who espoused the controversial Syrian resettlements, the records show."

Following Gov. Abbott's announcement to Texans and the rest of the American people -- that the state would no longer accept any more Syrian refugees -- the Obama administration responded by colluding with ultra-liberal Adler, according to records of a conference call between the mayor’s office and the White House.

"The administration also furnished Adler with “talking points” involving the refugee resettlement and the parties discussed Abbott’s lawsuit. It seems bizarre that the feds would discuss legal action with a town mayor operating in the state suing them," said officials with Judicial Watch. .

"Texas and California resettled the overwhelming majority of refugees in 2016, according to federal data, and Texas has absorbed the most Syrians. More than half of the nation’s governors oppose letting Syrian refugees resettle in their state for security reasons. Among them are Michigan, Arizona, Illinois, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Georgia and New Hampshire," Judicial Watch said in its statement.

A recent national poll revealed that the a large majority of Americans are opposed to the Obama administration allowing Syrian Muslim refugees into their neighborhoods. Only about 36% claimed they are for their country accepting more Syrian refugees into the United States, the poll found. The Judicial Watch survey shows a large decline in citizens accepting Syrian refugees in the last year and a half.

Muslims Allowed Sanctuary Despite Texas Citizens and Texas Laws

When advocates for these asylum seekers discuss the religious beliefs held by Muslims, they begin or end each of their arguments with a sympathetic pull at the heartstrings with "facts" that the U.S. has a history of providing asylum to those endangered by foreign enemies or domestic despots

But such statements are not germane to the issue. For example, according to Judicial Watch, the Islamic terrorists who carried out the deadly attacks in Paris had come into Europe as Syrian refugees, who originally entered Greece by posing as refugees fleeing from the Syrian conflict.

"The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) has confirmed that individuals with ties to terrorist groups in Syria have tried to infiltrate the United States through the Obama refugee program that has admitted more than 12,000 Syrians and counting. FBI Assistant Director Michael Steinbach has also conceded that the U.S. government has no system to properly screen Syrian refugees," noted a Judicial Watch press release dated December 20, 2016.

Gov. Abbott cited the French case in his own lawsuit, which was dismissed by a federal judge in Dallas who ruled that the state didn’t have grounds to sue the federal government. According to Judicial Watch:

In the complaint, Texas accused the federal government of breaching its legal duty because the state was prevented “from receiving vital information to assess the security risk posed by the refugees in advance of their arrival” and that federal authorities refused “to consult with the state in advance on placement of refugees in Texas.” The state appealed the ruling to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals but quietly withdrew it a few days after a separate appellate court rejected a similar appeal from Indiana.

Adler, who has served as Austin’s mayor since 2014, has proudly boasted that Syrian Muslims would be welcomed by the city's close to one-million residents. In his official press statement -- “Syrian Refugees are Welcome in Austin” -- Adler promises Texans living in Austin, which is the state's capital city, that “any Syrian refugee coming to the United States faces the most stringent background checks of anyone entering the country.”

 But according to more than a few law enforcement officers who spoke with Conservative Base about Obama's obsession with Muslim refugees, even the FBI Director Jim Comey told congress during his testimony that he has no idea how one goes about vetting people who have no documents and come from war-torn nations that barely have a functioning government bureaucracy.

"Obama is proven liar. Adler is repeating lies. And the federal judge in this case, is a political hack. That's how I see it," said Nickolas Patranos, a former civilian police officer and military police member.

"This mayor claims the U.S. investigations of refugees' backgrounds entails screening by the inept United Nations followed by vetting by the FBI Terrorist Screening Center and other federal agencies. Texans and Americans are being sold another fraudulent bill of goods by a administration famous for making empty promises," said Patranos.

Late on Friday, with the US population embracing the upcoming holidays and oblivious of most news emerging from the administration, Obama quietly signed into law the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which authorizes $611 billion for the military in 2017.
In a statement, Obama said that:
Today, I have signed into law S. 2943, the “National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017.” This Act authorizes fiscal year 2017 appropriations principally for the Department of Defense and for Department of Energy national security programs, provides vital benefits for military personnel and their families, and includes authorities to facilitate ongoing operations around the globe. It continues many critical authorizations necessary to ensure that we are able to sustain our momentum in countering the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and to reassure our European allies, as well as many new authorizations that, among other things, provide the Departments of Defense and Energy more flexibility in countering cyber-attacks and our adversaries’ use of unmanned aerial vehicles.”

Much of the balance of Obama’s statement blamed the GOP for Guantanamo’s continued operation and warned that “unless the Congress changes course, it will be judged harshly by history,” Obama said. Obama also said Congress failed to use the bill to reduce wasteful overhead (like perhaps massive F-35 cost overruns?) or modernize military health care, which he said would exacerbate budget pressures facing the military in the years ahead.
But while the passage of the NDAA – and the funding of the US military – was hardly a surprise, the biggest news is what was buried deep inside the provisions of the Defense Authortization Act.
Recall that as we reported in early June, “a bill to implement the U.S.’ very own de facto Ministry of Truth had been quietly introduced in Congress.
As with any legislation attempting to dodge the public spotlight the Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act of 2016 marks a further curtailment of press freedom and another avenue to stultify avenues of accurate information.
Introduced by Congressmen Adam Kinzinger and Ted Lieu, H.R. 5181 seeks a “whole-government approach without the bureaucratic restrictions” to counter “foreign disinformation and manipulation,” which they believe threaten the world’s “security and stability.”
Also called the Countering Information Warfare Act of 2016 (S. 2692), when introduced in March by Sen. Rob Portman, the legislation represents a dramatic return to Cold War-era government propaganda battles. 
“These countries spend vast sums of money on advanced broadcast and digital media capabilities, targeted campaigns, funding of foreign political movements, and other efforts to influence key audiences and populations,” Portman explained, adding that while the U.S. spends a relatively small amount on its Voice of America, the Kremlin provides enormous funding for its news organization, RT.
“Surprisingly,” Portman continued, “there is currently no single U.S. governmental agency or department charged with the national level development, integration and synchronization of whole-of-government strategies to counter foreign propaganda and disinformation.”
Long before the “fake news” meme became a daily topic of extensive conversation on such discredited mainstream portals as CNN and WaPo, H.R. 5181 would task the Secretary of State with coordinating the Secretary of Defense, the Director of National Intelligence, and the Broadcasting Board of Governors to “establish a Center for Information Analysis and Response,” which will pinpoint sources of disinformation, analyze data, and — in true dystopic manner — develop and disseminate “fact-based narratives” to counter effrontery propaganda.
In short, long before “fake news” became a major media topic, the US government was already planning its legally-backed crackdown on anything it would eventually label “fake news.”
Fast forward to December 8, when the “Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act” passed in the Senate, quietly inserted inside the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Report.
And now, following Friday’s Obama signing of the NDAA on Friday evening, the Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act is now law.
Here is the full statement issued by the generously funded Senator Rob Portman (R- Ohio) on the singing into law of a bill that further chips away at press liberties in the US, and which sets the stage for future which hunts and website shutdowns, purely as a result of an accusation that any one media outlet or site is considered as a source of “disinformation and propaganda” and is shut down by the government.

Portman-Murphy Bill Promotes Coordinated Strategy to Defend America, Allies Against Propaganda and Disinformation from Russia, China & Others
U.S. Senators Rob Portman (R-OH) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) today announced that their Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act – legislation designed to help American allies counter foreign government propaganda from Russia, China, and other nations – has been signed into law as part of the FY 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Report.
The bipartisan bill, which was introduced by Senators Portman and Murphy in March, will improve the ability of the United States to counter foreign propaganda and disinformation from our enemies by establishing an inter-agency center housed at the State Department to coordinate and synchronize counter-propaganda efforts throughout the U.S. government.
To support these efforts, the bill also creates a grant program for NGOs, think tanks, civil society and other experts outside government who are engaged in counter-propaganda related work.
This will better leverage existing expertise and empower our allies overseas to defend themselves from foreign manipulation.
It will also help foster a free and vibrant press and civil society overseas, which is critical to ensuring our allies have access to truthful information and inoculating people against foreign propaganda campaigns.

“Our enemies are using foreign propaganda and disinformation against us and our allies, and so far the U.S. government has been asleep at the wheel,” Portman said. “But today, the United States has taken a critical step towards confronting the extensive, and destabilizing, foreign propaganda and disinformation operations being waged against us by our enemies overseas.

“With this bill now law, we are finally signaling that enough is enough; the United States will no longer sit on the sidelines. We are going to confront this threat head-on. I am confident that, with the help of this bipartisan bill, the disinformation and propaganda used against us, our allies, and our interests will fail.”

“The use of propaganda to undermine democracy has hit a new low. But now we are finally in a position to confront this threat head on and get out the truth.”

“By building up independent, objective journalism in places like eastern Europe, we can start to fight back by exposing these fake narratives and empowering local communities to protect themselves,” said Murphy. “I’m proud that our bill was signed into law, and I look forward to working with Senator Portman to make sure these tools and new resources are effectively used to get out the truth.”

NOTE: The bipartisan Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act is organized around two main priorities to help achieve the goal of combating the constantly evolving threat of foreign disinformation from our enemies:

• The first priority is developing a whole-of-government strategy for countering THE foreign propaganda and disinformation being wages against us and our allies by our enemies. The bill would increase the authority, resources, and mandate of the Global Engagement Center to include state actors like Russia and China as well as non-state actors. The Center will be led by the State Department, but with the active senior level participation of the Department of Defense, USAID, the Broadcasting Board of Governors, the Intelligence Community, and other relevant agencies. The Center will develop, integrate, and synchronize whole-of-government initiatives to expose and counter foreign disinformation operations by our enemies and proactively advance fact-based narratives that support U.S. allies and interests.

• Second, the legislation seeks to leverage expertise from outside government to create more adaptive and responsive U.S. strategy options. The legislation establishes a fund to help train local journalists and provide grants and contracts to NGOs, civil society organizations, think tanks, private sector companies, media organizations, and other experts outside the U.S. government with experience in identifying and analyzing the latest trends in foreign government disinformation techniques. This fund will complement and support the Center’s role by integrating capabilities and expertise available outside the U.S. government into the strategy-making process. It will also empower a decentralized network of private sector experts and integrate their expertise into the strategy-making process.

And so, with the likes of WaPo having already primed the general public to equate “Russian Propaganda” with “fake news” (despite admitting after the fact their own report was essentially “fake“), while the US media has indoctrinated the public to assume that any information which is not in compliance with the official government narrative, or dares to criticize the establishment, is also “fake news” and thus falls under the “Russian propaganda” umbrella, the scene is now set for the US government to legally crack down on every media outlet that the government deems to be “foreign propaganda.”
Just like that, the US Ministry of Truth is officially born.

 FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin has issued
 a proclamation declaring 2017 the “Year of the Bible,” making it the 
second year that Bevin has issued such a decree.

He noted that several prominent figures throughout American history have lauded the importance of the Scriptures.
“President Harry S. Truman said, ‘The fundamental basis of this nation’s law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul,'” Bevin’s proclamation reads in part.
“In addition to encouraging Americans to rediscover the Bible’s ‘priceless and timeless message,’ President Ronald Reagan’s 1983 Year of the Bible Proclamation stated, ‘Of the many influences that have shaped the United States into a distinctive nation and people, none may be said to be more fundamental and enduring than the Bible,'” it continues.

The proclamation also notes that 2017 will be the second year that Kentucky has held its statewide Bible-reading marathon. It begins on Jan. 1 as participants take turns reading portions of the Bible from Genesis through Revelation.
As previously reported, the effort is organized by Mark Harrell, pastor of Victory Christian Fellowship in Somerset and founder of the Kentucky Pastor’s Prayer Focus. He hopes that all 120 counties throughout the state will become involved, but so far, has confirmation from over 70.
“At midnight Jan. 1, someone in a county will read from the Bible for 15 minutes and then someone else and then someone else and so on until the entire Bible is read aloud,” Harrell explained to the Lexington Herald Leader. “It will take about three-and-a-half days to do this.”

He said that Bevin, who signed the “Year of the Bible” proclamation on Dec. 19, had encouraged him to carry on the marathon again this year.
But some have expressed objection to Bevin’s decree, including the ACLU and the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF).
“The proclamation excludes and alienates Kentuckians who are not Christian, not religious, or believe in the patriotic principle of upholding the First Amendment by keeping religion out of government. To use the secular gubernatorial office to propagandize a religious book is an unacceptable abuse of power,” FFRF writes on its website, calling upon its supporters to ask Bevin to “stop Bible thumping.”
As previously reported, throughout America’s early history, a number of the Founding Fathers issued proclamations calling inhabitants to look to God, including in 1798, when President John Adams proclaimed a national day of humiliation, prayer and fasting.
“As the safety and prosperity of nations ultimately and essentially depend on the protection and blessing of Almighty God, and the national acknowledgment of this truth is not only an indispensable duty which the people owe to Him,” he wrote, “…this duty, at all times incumbent, is so especially in seasons of difficulty and of danger, when existing or threatening calamities—the just judgments of God against prevalent iniquity—are a loud call to repentance and reformation.”

Earlier this year Pulpit & Pen brought you the story of Hillsong, NYC’s youth pastor, Diego Simila, who posed as the infamous “Naked Cowboy” at a Hillsong women’s conference. There were also other more than questionable appearances of debauched characters at various other Hillsong conferences during that time, including the sex pervert, Austin Powers, who showed up at the London conference. Hillsong received quite a bit of backlash for these lewd acts of moral degeneracy including from Montanist apologist and noted Hillsong defender, Michael Brown.
As if these salacious acts weren’t enough to turn any biblically-minded Christian away from the perversion of the Bride of Christ that is Hillsong, Diego Simila is back–posing once again in an obscene display of lasciviousness, as a nearly-naked Santa.
On Esther Houston’s (wife of NYC Worship Leader, Joel Houston) Instagram site (click with caution), you’ll find the following festival of flesh.

This comes as no surprise since Hillsong is known for its debauchery and trashy performances, watered down gospel, and compromise on nearly everything Christians stand for. Several weeks ago, Joel Houston, son of Hillsong CEO, Brian Houston, posted on Twitter that he found Jen Hatmaker’s affirmation of gay marriage “refreshing.” In 2015, the same NY-based branch of Hillsong put on what many dubbed Hillsong’s Sleazy Silent Night, where a woman was paraded on stage in a seductive manner wearing provocative clothing. Carl Lentz, lead pastor of Hillsong NYC, was recently interviewed on Oprah’s television show where Lentz denied that you must be a Christian to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Lentz’ church also had two openly gay members of his congregation serving in the choir–one as the choir director.
All of this anti-Christian, anti-gospel vulgarity and compromise for the sake of pleasing man instead of God is what makes Hillsong famous. It’s no wonder SBTS president, Al Mohler says that Hillsong is “a prosperity movement for the millennials, in which the polyester and middle-class associations of Oral Roberts have given way to ripped jeans and sophisticated rock music…What has made Hillsong distinctive is a minimization of the actual content of the Gospel and a far more diffuse presentation of spirituality.”
Hillsong isn’t a church. Michael Brown says that this is simply an “exaggerated picture of the church of America.” But sadly, this is not exaggerated. This is commonplace and is quickly becoming the mainstream. The true church in America is the minority. It’s time the true church separate completely from the world and Hillsong.

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. –2 Timothy 4:3-4

Hillsong’s ‘Naked Cowboy’ Appears as Half-Naked Santa at ‘Christmas Tropical Party’

look-alike to the city’s famed “Naked Cowboy,” recently was photographed
 at a “Christmas tropical party” again half-naked—a photo that was later
 deleted following concerns.

Esther Houston, the wife of Joel Houston, who serves as the leader of the popular worship band Hillsong United and co-pastor of Hillsong NYC, posted the photo to her Instagram this week with the caption “When the Christmas tropical party is lit.”
The photo featured youth leader Diego Simila with his shirt completely unbuttoned to bear his chest and short cut-off jean shorts, while wearing a Santa hat and having a tropical drink. Adjacent to Simila is Houston, a former Brazilian model, posing in a manner that exposed up her thigh.
Some of the commenters under the photo found the snapshot to be humorous.

“Hahahaha @diegosimila!! I’m crying!” one wrote. “Diego, you make my life complete.”
“@diegosimila me and @strazzabeatdown are dying right now!!!” another exclaimed.
But one woman expressed concern about the example that Simila and Houston were setting as professing Christians.

“How is this glorifying to Jesus Christ?” she asked, and pointed to 1 Thessalonians 5:22, which admonishes Christians to “abstain from all appearance of evil.”
“God will hold you accountable for your poor example to young Christians,” she opined.
One viewer shot back at the woman, stating that she was being “ridiculous,” and contending that there was nothing sinful about the photograph.
But blog sites also picked up on the matter, noting a pattern of concerning behavior within Hillsong.
“Still no sign of Hillsong bearing fruit in keeping with repentance. Just a false Jesus endorsing their sinful lifestyle,” opined the site Church Watch Central.
Houston has since deleted the photograph without explanation.
As previously reported, Simila raised controversy in May when he appeared at Hillsong’s Colour Conference as a “Naked Cowboy” lookalike—a popular New York City figure who walks the streets shirtless and without pants.
“I usually don’t expect to see a near-naked cowboy gyrating from the stage of a Christian women’s conference. … Indeed if I were of the world, I’d expect these sights and sounds to come from a giant bachelorette party at a strip club,” wrote Amy Spreeman of Berean Research.
Hillsong Co-Founder Brian Houston, while expressing concern, refuted those who referred to Simila as being the “Naked Cowboy” since he wasn’t completely naked.
“He was wearing proper shorts, not underwear, and he had a flag draped over him—bare-chested and perhaps inappropriate, certainly unexpected and unauthorized; but not naked,” he said in defense, adding that he and others were not aware of the plan.
“Some well-meaning person just made a silly decision,” Houston asserted. “It won’t happen again.”
Hillsong likewise raised controversy last year over its sold-out Christmas services in London, which included dancing elves, mini-skirt-wearing flappers, shirtless men pounding on drums, Santa Claus and more.

Two of the most popular artists in Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) are Matt Maher and Matt Redman. The two have produced many popular songs that can be heard in just about any church of any flavor around the world today. Songs like Redman’s Here For You, with references to the charismatic belief of a separate baptism of the Holy Spirit, and Maher’s Lord I Need You, with references to the Roman Catholic doctrine of infused righteousness would ring familiar in almost any modern Christian’s ears.
While it may appear that the music popular CCM artists like Maher and Redman glorify God with the production of music that has been so widely accepted by the church, most Christians have no idea the background and agenda of these men. I wrote an article last year entitled Matt Maher is Not Saved, Stop Singing His Music in Church. The article describes Maher’s Roman Catholic background and his alignment with the damning doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church, and why promoting his music in the pews neither does the church, nor Maher himself any favors–let alone glorify the Risen Lord.
Maher and Redman, however, produced a song together, Remembrance, for the purpose of worshiping and having communion together–people from completely different doctrinal backgrounds. In an interview with Family Christian Bookstores, Maher says,

Like Matt Redman and I wrote a song about communion together. He comes from an Anglican or Evangelical background and I came from a Catholic background. We have completely different doctoral[sic] teachings about communion and about the Eucharist. Does that mean that we can’t write a song together about the importance of communion. Or that when Jesus says in the Bible, “Remember me … do this in remembrance of me… that we can’t. What we can say is let’s try to serve the Church with a song that somehow reflects truth and leaves a little bit of room for the mystery of faith.

Maher is correct that he and Redman have completely different doctrinal teachings about communion and the Eucharist. The Roman Catholic teaching is blasphemous and idolatrous–God hates it. Further, and more importantly, what Maher failed to say is that he and Redman also have completely different doctrinal teachings on salvation. In fact, Maher’s church anathematizes any, like Redman, who claim to believe in salvation by grace alone through faith alone. The Roman Catholic Church explicitly denies Matt Redman’s supposed “evangelical” beliefs in the Council of Trent which is held to be one of the most important councils in the history of the RCC.

• Canon 12. “If any one saith, that justifying faith is nothing else but confidence in the divine mercy which remits sins for Christ’s sake; or, that this confidence alone is that whereby we are justified; let him be anathema.”
• Canon 24. “If any one saith, that the justice received is not preserved and also increased before God through good works; but that the said works are merely the fruits and signs of Justification obtained, but not a cause of the increase thereof; let him be anathema.”
• Canon 30. “If any one saith, that, after the grace of Justification has been received, to every penitent sinner the guilt is remitted, and the debt of eternal punishment is blotted out in such wise, that there remains not any debt of temporal punishment to be discharged either in this world, or in the next in Purgatory, before the entrance to the kingdom of heaven can be opened (to him); let him be anathema.”
• Canon 32. “If any one saith, that the good works of one that is justified are in such manner the gifts of God, as that they are not also the good merits of him that is justified; or, that the said justified, by the good works which he performs through the grace of God and the merit of Jesus Christ, whose living member he is, does not truly merit increase of grace, eternal life, and the attainment of that eternal life, …and also an increase of glory; let him be anathema.”

Why don’t the two artists do a joint production on that one? Sadly, Redman’s association with Roman Catholics is not a new phenomenon. Redman has held several joint concerts with Maher and last year he spoke and played at one of the largest Catholic youth gatherings in the U.K., which was replete with the idolatry of the mass. The Protestant Standard writes:

Throughout the day Roman Catholics speakers will bring messages to the young people gathered there, and at the conclusion of the day Cardinal Vincent Nichols will lead everyone in a time of Adoration i.e. the Mass. None of this is unusual, or worthy of special comment for it what we would expect at a Roman Catholic event. This issue which attracts our attention on this occasion is the presence of a leading Contemporary Christian Music artist, Matt Redman.

And Redman promoted the event on his own Twitter account.

Sadly, Redman is neck deep into the false belief system that doctrine doesn’t matter as long as you can set that aside and hold hands and sing together. Matt Redman was interviewed by Tony Cummings and said,

You’ve got Catholics there, you’ve got high church Anglican, you’ve got house churches, Baptists, Methodists and no one even cares. Denominations don’t even register on anyone’s radar. They are all there centering around God. It’s great.

Yes, Matt. That is great. We’re so glad that God’s truth doesn’t matter in your world, and we’re so glad that your millions of followers are being taught to have a shallow understanding of God and center their worship around their emotions and personal experiences instead of God’s truth. Cummings then posed the following to Redman:

I remember interviewing David Watson and he was one of the key figures in the development of charismatic renewal within the Anglican church and I was quizzing him about Catholics on his platform and that kind of thing and he had a very simple rationale. He said anybody who confesses faith in Christ in sincerity and isn’t simply using Christian profession but actually meaning something else – like a cult might do – should be accepted as a Christian. It’s not for him to argue the finer points of doctrine with them.

To which Redman responded:

I’ve got a friend in America called Matt Maher and he wrote a song called “Your Grace Is Enough” which Chris Tomlin recorded and that song has been sung all over the world. But Matt is a Catholic guy, full-on. It’s funny isn’t it? Some people would think that “Your Grace Is Enough” is probably the most unlikely title to come from a Catholic guy. But that is what God is doing in the Church. It’s a unity thing and unity comes when you all look in one direction, doesn’t it? Worship is always going to be a very unifying thing. The moment we take our eyes off all these differences between us and we look in one direction, towards the Son of God, worship is going to unify.

But the unity is false. It isn’t around the true God or Jesus of the Bible, and Matt Redman is putting up with it “readily enough.”

For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. – 2 Corinthians 11:4

The Scriptures teach that unifying with unbelievers and those who proclaim a false Gospel is an abomination to God. Roman Catholics are idolaters. Roman Catholics bear the name of brother. 1 Corinthians 5:11 commands us not to even eat with such people as it gives a false impression of their acceptance into the body of Christ and it compromises the truth of the Gospel. Redman has chosen to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 2:14) instead of, as commanded in Scripture, exposing their unfruitful works to the light of God’s word (Ephesians 5:11). Matt Redman has chosen to align himself with the doctrineless and fruitless works of darkness masquerading as members of the church deceiving himself and others (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).
Matt Redman and his Catholic counterpart, Matt Maher, are leading millions of people astray–into the outer depths of darkness. Their ecumenical alliance is not glorifying to God. Jesus Christ and His truth is the foundation of the church and if that is set aside to build a divided house, it will not stand (Mark 3:25). To know God is to love Him, and you cannot know Him without knowing His revealed truth found in Scripture alone. Holding hands and singing songs with those who do not know God is not what biblical unity in the body of Christ is. We are to avoid those who hold to a false doctrine because it is they that cause divisions.

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. –Romans 16:17

If you truly want unity in the body of Christ, separate from those, like Roman Catholics, who hold to a false Gospel and proclaim a false Jesus. Stop holding hands with false converts. Stop setting aside sound doctrine for warm fuzzy feelings with apostates. And stop anathematizing the few out there who are willing to stand up and contend for the faith that was once and for all delivered to the saints.

I question if hell can find a more fitting instrument within its infernal lake than the Church of Rome is for the cause of mischief. And your church will in its measure, be the same if bereft of the Spirit. — Charles Spurgeon

Have you heard of the DRT?   The Dead Raising Team? It’s an independent ministry operated by Tyler Johnson as part of his One Glance Ministries. As its name implies, the “ministry” focuses on raising the dead.  Johnson is a graduate of Bethel Church’s “School of Supernatural Ministry.”   Because … where else would you go for heresy, blasphemy, and Scriptural defiance but Bill Johnson and Kris Vallotton’s portal of demonic doctrines?

Johnson just sent out a blanket email of a Christmas YouTube video he published last year entitled “Did Santa Raise The Dead?” The subtext of his email answers this with the affirming question “Did you know that St. Nic raised the dead?”

According to the charismatic false teacher Johnson, “It’s said that he [St. Nick] raised 100 children from the dead.”
This isn’t a new tale. It’s been popular mythology in Roman Catholicism for hundred of years. The apostate Catholics, like the apostates coming out of Bethel, laud anything miraculous regardless of their Scriptural veracity or Biblical compliance. According to CatholicCulture.org, the Chapel of the Holy Arms in Tolentino, Italy even has the two severed limbs of St. Nicholas’ enshrined. The arms of the inspiring “saint” behind Santa Claus were rediscovered there in 1926.
Here’s the story that Johnson tells in this, “oh, by the way, buy our new book” video.
“St. Nick was in prayer in an area where there was a famine. He got a word of knowledge that there was a wicked innkeeper who, because he couldn’t give meat to the people staying in his inn, went out into the street and found three children, butchered them up – cut up their bodies – and then stuck their bodies in a brining barrel to cure the meat.”
It is, by the way, this “word of knowledge” that Johnson sources as the notion of Santa’s omniscience.   “He knows if you’ve been bad or good,” according to the children’s Christmas tune, comes from this dead raising tale of the Catholic saint.
“St. Nick sees this whole thing in a vision, goes into the town, finds the inn that he was in the vision, confronts the wicked innkeeper. The wicked innkeeper takes him down to this barrel. St. Nick prays over the barrel and then tells the innkeeper to open the barrel. The innkeeper opened the barrel and three children crawled out alive and well.   Raised from the dead.”

The purpose of Johnson’s retelling of this Catholic myth is to point to the many “creative miracles” that God is still doing. According to Johnson’s website, his own “ministry” claims “15 resurrections to date,” evidence that God is still creating miracles by re-creating and re-animating the dead.
Johnson gives the argument so often heard when a charismatic is challenged for a Biblical proof text that “signs and wonder” gifts are continuing today.   Jesus was dead for three days, he says.  Lazarus was dead four days, but God brought them back to life “because God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (We’d offer Andrew Rappaport’s response to this claim HERE)
“Sometimes we can feel like Santa threatens the real meaning of Christmas,” says this charlatan.   “But in reality, if we understand where Santa Claus came from, St. Nick points to Christ. His whole life honors God.”
Umm. No. Just No.
It’s following this when Johnson encourages the viewer to buy his latest book. I, of course, do not encourage you to buy his book.
Instead, I encourage you to do as Christ exhorted, “abide in my word.”  (John 8:31)  Then you won’t be, like so many, likely to wander off the narrow path with the ear-tickling doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1) that come from the likes of Bethel and its protégés.
