The Trump administration is allowing troops stationed at the U.S.-Mexico
border to engage in some law enforcement activities and, if necessary,
use lethal force.
Defense Secretary Jim Mattis confirmed to reporters on Wednesday that he
had received a Cabinet order signed by White House Chief of Staff John
Kelly, not President Donald Trump, making engagement guidelines less
restrictive.
"The president did see a need to back up the Border Patrol [officers],
and we received late last night an additional instruction authorizing us
to implement additional measures. We're sizing up what those are. We
already talked with folks over at DHS [Department of Homeland
Security]," Mattis said.

U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)-Much of today's incivility and contempt for personal liberty has its
roots on college campuses, and most of the uncivil and contemptuous are
people with college backgrounds. Let's look at a few highly publicized
recent examples of incivility and attacks on free speech.
Senate
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, Transportation Secretary
Elaine Chao, were accosted and harassed by a deranged left-wing mob as
they were leaving a dinner at Georgetown University. Sen. McConnell was
harassed by protesters at Reagan National Airport, as well as at several
venues in Kentucky. Sen. Ted Cruz and his wife were harassed at a
Washington, D.C., restaurant. Afterward, a group called Smash Racism DC
wrote: “No — you can't eat in peace — your politics are an attack on all
of us. You're (sic) votes are a death wish. Your votes are hate
crimes.” Other members of Congress — such as Andy Harris, Susan Collins
and Rand Paul — have been physically attacked or harassed by leftists.
Most recent is the case of Fox News political commentator Tucker
Carlson. A leftist group showed up at his house at night, damaging his
front door and chanting, “Tucker Carlson, we will fight! We know where
you sleep at night!” “Racist scumbag, leave town!”
Mayhem against
people with different points of view is excused as just deserts for what
is seen as hate speech. Enterprise Institute scholar Charles Murray
discovered this when he was shouted down at Middlebury College and the
professor escorting him was sent to the hospital with injuries. Students
at the University of California, Berkeley shut down a controversial
speaker and caused riot damage estimated at $100,000. Protesters at both
UCLA and Claremont McKenna College disrupted scheduled lectures by
Manhattan Institute scholar Heather Mac Donald. The Foundation for
Individual Rights in Education has discovered so-called bias response
teams on hundreds of American college campuses. Bias response teams
report to campus officials — and sometimes to law enforcement officers —
speech that may cause “alarm, anger, or fear” or that might otherwise
offend. Drawing pictures or cartoons that belittle people because of
their beliefs or political affiliation can be reported as hate speech.
Universities expressly set their sights on prohibiting constitutionally
protected speech.As FIRE
reported in 2017, hundreds of universities nationwide now maintain
Orwellian systems that ask students to report — often anonymously —
their neighbors, friends and professors for any instances of supposed
biased speech and expression. A recent Brookings Institution poll
found that nearly half of college students believe that hate speech is
not protected by the First Amendment. That's nonsense; it is. Fifty-one
percent of college students think they have a right to shout down a
speaker with whom they disagree. Nineteen percent of students think that
it's acceptable to use violence to prevent a speaker from speaking.
Over 50 percent
agree that colleges should prohibit speech and viewpoints that might
offend certain people. One shouldn't be surprised at all if these
visions are taught and held by many of their professors. Colleges once
taught and promoted an understanding of Western culture. Today many
professors and the college bureaucracy teach students that they're
victims of Western culture and values.
Benjamin Franklin wrote,
“Whoever would overthrow the Liberty of a Nation, must begin by subduing
the Freeness of Speech.” Much later, Supreme Court Justice Potter
Stewart said, “Censorship reflects a society's lack of confidence in
itself. It is a hallmark of an authoritarian regime.” From the Nazis to
Stalinists to Maoists, tyrants have always started out supporting free
speech, just as American leftists did during the 1960s. Their support
for free speech is easy to understand. Speech is vital for the
realization of their goals of command, control and confiscation. The
right to say what they please is their tool for indoctrination,
propagandizing and proselytization. Once the leftists gain control, as
they have at many universities, free speech becomes a liability and must
be suppressed. This is increasingly the case on university campuses.
Much of the off-campus incivility we see today is the fruit of what a

A 20-year-old Muslim man was arrested for the murder of an
85-year-old man in Germany. The victim was “found dead with his throat
slit in his home.”Quran 8:12 says: “I will cast terror into the hearts
of those who disbelieved, so strike upon the necks and strike from them
every fingertip.”
The victim was the father of a refugee aid worker who hired the
“refugee” from Afghanistan to help her dad out around the house and
garden, as his wife had died six years before.
It will likely be claimed that this Muslim migrant has “post
traumatic stress disorder” (PTSD) or mental illness. Why is it that
believers of other religions, particularly persecuted Christians and
other minorities in Muslim countries, do not suffer from PTSD or mental
illness that leads them to kill those of other faiths?
“Rejected asylum seeker ‘murders father, 85, of refugee worker who
got him a job helping her parent around the home’ in Germany,” by Sara

A 20-year-old Afghan man has been arrested over the murder of an 85-year-old pensioner in north Germany. Dietrich P. was found dead with his throat slit in his home in
Wittenburg, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania in the early hours of Saturday.
The suspect had been hired by Dietrich P.’s daughter, a refugee aid
worker, to carry out some work at the house, including gardening and
cleaning, over the weekend.
Dietrich P. had needed daily assistance following the death of his
wife in 2012, and in August last year, the 20-year-old suspect had spent
a week working as his carer.
The 85-year-old was attacked in his bed around 2am on Saturday morning, according to a police statement.
The murder was witnessed by a home care service worker via a video
baby monitor which had been set up to help keep an eye on the elderly
man, Bildreports.
The cries of the 85-year-old woke the carer, who called emergency services when they saw the attack…..

Linda Sarsour appeared to criticize American Jews of a
dual loyalty to Israel in a Facebook post calling for support for
Congresswoman-elect Ilhan Omar, following a backlash over her
announcement that she supports boycotting Israel. Sarsour wrote….that
Omar is “being attacked for saying that she supports BDS (Boycott
Divestment Sanctions) and the right for people to engage in
constitutionally protected freedoms. This is not only coming from the
right-wing but some folks who masquerade as progressives but always
choose their allegiance to Israel over their commitment to democracy and
free speech.
Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East; it is surrounded by
Muslim countries that seek to obliterate it simply for being the Jewish
state. It is no secret that from the day of its birth in 1948, Israel
has fought for its existence, after the Holocaust that was aided by
jihadists.
It was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Mohammed Amin al-Husseini, who “proposed an Arab revolt
all across the Middle East to fight the Jews,” and who ultimately
worked with Hitler and Eichmann in executing the Holocaust. In 1942,
during World War II, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), Hassan
al-Banna, established MB branches in Transjordan and Ottoman South Syria
(what is referred to as “Palestine”). The MB propaganda against Israel,
and its aim to obliterate it, has thus been the dominant ideology in
the Palestinian territories since World War II. Sarsour supports the jihad against Israel, but pretends that she is
standing for “democracy” and “free speech,” neither of which have any
place in the Palestinian territories and in the Islamic states that
surround Israel. BDS is nothing more than a calculated scheme to
delegitimize the Jewish state of Israel. It is a sly promotion of
anti-Semitism, and aims ultimately to destroy Israel via economic
sanctions.
Benjamin Netanyahu ignited a firestorm when he rightly stated at the 37th World Zionist Congress three years ago:
“Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time,
he wanted to expel the Jews. And Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and
said, ‘If you expel them, they’ll all come here.’ ‘So what should I do
with them?’ he asked. He said, ‘Burn them’.”
Prior to Netanyahu’s words, it was relatively easy to find this
historic reference to al-Husseini’s conversation with Hitler, but when
one does a Google search now, Netanyahu’s reference is central and is
surrounded by remarks about how shocking Netanyahu’s words were. What is
actually shocking is the Grand Mufti’s remarks. And those of Ilhan
Omar:
Omar’s tweets about Israel have earned her notoriety in
the pro-Israel community. In 2012, she said that Israel had “hypnotized
the world” to ignore its “evil doings.” Defending that tweet earlier
this year, she said on the same platform that calling attention to the
“Israeli apartheid regime” was not anti-Semitic…The statement
appears to contradict her comments during a candidates’ forum at a
Minneapolis-area synagogue in which Omar affirmed her support for
Israel’s right to exist under a two-state solution and said she did not
support BDS.
The Muslim Brotherhood and other stealth jihadists are the ones who
have hypnotized the world with their deceptions, promulgated under the
guise of “diversity,” “anti-racism,” and concern for “human rights.” Israel has defended itself from obliteration while Sarsour and Omar
cast it an “apartheid regime.” Meanwhile, scores of Arab Israelis openly
discuss with tourists their happiness living in Israel compared with
the abuses of their own people by the Palestinian Authority. Worse is
that Sarsour and Omar have been aided in spreading their anti-Semitic
propaganda by Westerners who mindlessly support the BDS movement and
share its willful and shameless ignorance of history. Although Sarsour claims to support human rights, she is silent about
the gross abuses committed by her coreligionists against non-Muslims,
gays and women. Add in the ongoing efforts to obliterate the tiny Jewish
state, surrounded by large Muslim nations that are Muslim nations today
because they were conquered by the vilest of means: bloody jihad,
torture and the sanctioned taking of infidel sex slaves. What an
advocate for human rights Sarsour makes.

people to post messages of support to Omar on social media. “You don’t
have to support BDS and have every right not to but we cannot stand by
idly while a brave Black Muslim American woman is targeted for saying
she will uphold the constitution of the United States of America as a
member of the US Congress,” Sarsour wrote.
In the comments section on the post in response to the criticism,
Sarsour singled out the Anti-Defamation League. In an online petition in
support of Omar, Sarsour wrote that she was alarmed by “organizations
like the ADL using their platforms to attack a trailblazing Black Muslim
woman in order to undermine advocacy for Palestinian human rights.”
The post raised the ire of the American Jewish Committee which
responded in a tweet that: “Accusing Jews of dual loyalty is one of the
oldest and most pernicious antisemitic tropes. No surprise to see it
coming from @LSarsour. How long will progressive leaders continue to
look the other way in the face of this hate?
Ilhan’s campaign on Wednesday told the Muslim Girl website that she
“believes in and supports the BDS movement.” It added that she “does,
however, have reservations on the effectiveness of the movement in
accomplishing a lasting solution.”
The statement appears to contradict her comments during a candidates’
forum at a Minneapolis-area synagogue in which Omar affirmed her
support for Israel’s right to exist under a two-state solution and said
she did not support BDS. She said that BDS “stops the dialogue” and is
“counteractive” to achieving a two-state outcome….

Remember: this woman has already been in prison on death row for
eight years. She was acquitted by the Pakistani Supreme Court, which
found the evidence that she had “blasphemed” insufficient. Yet the
Muslim mobs that are hunting for her are avid to spill her blood.
Remember also that they have never, ever gotten upset about the jihad
murderers who have supposedly hijacked their religion, at least
according to innumerable Western non-Muslim politicians. Clearly there
are massive numbers of people in Pakistan whose world view is exactly
the same as that of the jihadis.

The family of Asia Bibi, the Christian woman who spent
eight years on death row in Pakistan for blasphemy before being
acquitted three weeks ago, claim they are being hunted by extremists
going house to house with their photographs to try to track them down.
Bibi’s family have been in hiding since her acquittal by the
country’s supreme court. She is in protective custody as part of a deal
between the government and a hardline Islamic party, under which violent
protests were called off while a review of the court ruling was
undertaken.
Bibi’s lawyer, relatives and supporters have appealed for the family
to be given asylum in a European or north American country. Several
countries have indicated their willingness to offer a home, but nothing
concrete has emerged.
John Pontifex, of Aid to the Church in Need UK (ACN), which has
campaigned on Bibi’s behalf since she was convicted and sentenced to
death in 2010, said he had been in almost daily contact with her family
over the past three weeks and they were very frightened.
“They have told me that mullahs had been reported in their
neighbourhood going from house to house showing photos of family members
on their phones, trying to hunt them down,” he told the Guardian.
“The family have had to move from place to place to avoid detection.
Sometimes they can only operate after sundown. They have had to cover
their faces when they go out in public. They have had to remove the
rosary that hangs from their car rear-view mirror for fear of attack.”
Pontifex said the family’s faith was “sustaining them in this time of
acute danger”. He added: “They say that if they are not allowed to find
a future outside Pakistan, the fear is that sooner or later something

On Tuesday, Sayeeda Warsi told the House of Lords: “There have been
press reports that Asia Bibi, if granted asylum in the United Kingdom,
would potentially not be safe from some communities here … As someone
who is deeply connected to British Muslim communities, I assure her that
they are fully supportive of any asylum claim that Asia Bibi may have
and that our country may afford her, and that she would be supported as
she would be by all other communities in this country.”…
Unlikely at best.

In a historic ruling, a Detroit federal judge has dismissed key
charges against defendants in a female-genital-mutilation (FGM) case,
ruling the law against it unconstitutional. As Fox 2 reports:
U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman
ruled that congress [sic] does not have the authority to make FGM
illegal, which it had been classified as ... under the Necessary and
Proper Clause or the Commerce Clause.
The case involved Dr. Jumana Nagarwala
who had been awaiting trial on female genital mutilation charges. She
was arrested in the summer of 2017 and was released on a $4.5 million
bond.
According to the opinion filed by
Friedman, congress [sic] had banned FGM under a statute that states
“whoever knowingly circumcises, excises, or infibulates the whole or any
part of the labia majora or labia minora or clitoris of another person
who has not attained the age of 18 years shall be fined under this title
or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.”
Prosecutors said she did that with at
least six girls at a clinic in the Detroit area, including two girls
from Minnesota. The doctor denies that she committed a crime and says
she performed a religious custom from her Muslim sect, the India-based
Dawoodi Bohra.
... Two other people, Dr. Fakhruddin Attar and Farida Attar, have been charged in this case, the first U.S. case of its kind.
Many critics
are understandably upset because FGM is internationally regarded as a
human-rights violation. A “tradition” among many Muslims, the practice
is considered an example of actual oppression of women, though Western
feminists don’t appear to be as vocal about it as they should be
(they’re busy combating acts such as “manspreading”).
FGM is barbaric and should be outlawed (at the state level). Yet
given that a judge’s role is to rule on law’s constitutionality, leaving
the law’s rectitude to legislators, Friedman’s opinion probably isn’t
the outrage it seems on the surface.
As the Detroit Newsreports,
relating the judge’s reasoning, “‘There is nothing commercial or
economic about FGM,’ Friedman wrote in a 28-page opinion. (Female
genital mutilation) [‘]is not part of a larger market and it has no
demonstrated effect on interstate commerce. The Commerce Clause does not
permit Congress to regulate a crime of this nature.’”
In reality, in an effort to arrogate more and more power to
themselves, the feds have over time unconstitutionally applied the
Commerce Clause to an increasing number of areas. Yet it’s the states’
role to criminalize practices such as FGM, something Michigan did do
last year.
Unfortunately, 23 states haven’t yet outlawed the practice, which
means that Muslims in the U.S. can lawfully have this mutilation
performed simply by traveling a bit.
As for Friedman’s ruling, he did leave intact conspiracy and
obstruction charges that could send Nagarwala and the other defendants
to federal prison for decades, however.
None of this is to say Judge Friedman is a good jurist. He’s the judge who ruled against
Michigan’s same-sex “marriage” ban in 2014, incorrectly applying the
14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause. As with too many today, he
clearly doesn’t understand the relevant distinction: the clause
guarantees equal protection to people, not institutions (in-depth explanation here).
Yet understanding of the Constitution is lacking in general. A good
example is what Shelby Quast, a representative of the rights
organization Equality Now, said regarding the FGM case. As the Detroit News
related, “‘It’s a giant step backward in the protection of women’s and
girls’ rights,’ he complained. ‘Especially when there is a global
movement to eliminate this practice.’”
While his cause is just here, he’s exhibiting a tendency common when
an activist’s own ox is gored: behaving as if the end justifies the
means.
Violating the Constitution to achieve even a noble end constitutes
the most serious undermining of the rule of law because the Constitution
is the supreme law of the land; this threatens all our rights and
protections because the Constitution is their guarantor. Thus, it’s
silly to speak of the “protection of women’s and girls’ rights” if you
undermine the very document that, over the long term, protects those
rights.
As for wrongs, genital mutilation is a growing problem today — but
not just because of Muslim immigrants. While activists will rightly
inveigh against FGM, many of them will just as passionately defend the
genital mutilation euphemistically known as “gender-reassignment
surgery” (GRS). In fact, according to Medical Dailywriting
in 2015, a then-new Oregon law allowed “minors as young as 15 to get
the surgery, even without consent from their parents.” The kicker is
that there’s as much of a scientific justification for FGM as there is for GRS.
(EXCEPT IF YOU EXPOSE POLITICAL CORRUPTION & USE GOVERNMENT DEFINED "HATE SPEECH") Google and the communist Chinese government have been in cahoots building a system that will censor anything deemed negative by the ruling party. Make no mistake, this may just be China today, but this will go global as the cabal aim to kill free speech everywhere.

York entrepreneur and Democratic 2020 candidate Andrew Yang wants to
implement a system in which a government-run mobile app rewards
Americans with “digital social credits” (DSCs) for good behavior.
Americans would receive DSCs under Yang’s system for things such as
“participating in a town fair,” “fixing a neighbor’s appliance” or
“tutoring a student,” his presidential campaign website explains.
“As individuals rack up DSCs, they would have both a permanent
balance they’ve earned over their lifetime and a current balance. They
could cash the points in for experiences, purchases with participating
vendors, support for causes, and transfer points to others for special
occasions,” Yang states on his website. “As their permanent balance gets
higher, they might qualify for various perks like throwing a pitch at a
local ballgame, an audience with their local Congressperson or meeting
their state’s most civic-minded athlete or celebrity.”
“The most socially detached would be the most likely to
ignore all of this,” he added. “But many people love rewards and feeling
valued.”
Yang’s social credit plan bears some similarities to the social credit system implemented by China’s authoritarian government.
Every citizen in China is assigned a social credit score that determines whether they can buy plane or train tickets.
Unlike the Chinese system, Yang’s plan does not include using digital social credit for punitive measures. That’s how it starts. You can add in punishments with a few lines of code at any time.
Campaign chair Matt Shinners emphasized in an email
to The Daily Caller News Foundation that Yang’s system lacks the
coercive element featured in China’s social credit system:
My understanding of the Chinese system (which is
admittedly limited) is that it’s more of a rating that’s externally
imposed based on a number of non-opt-in factors, almost like a credit
rating, and collates information captured from public surveillance,
economic and social media activity, etc… to create a ‘score’ that would
then, possibly, be used to ‘blacklist’ people from certain activities.
Under my understanding, the Chinese system is more of a score/rating
than a system of credits.
Andrew’s platform calls for a system that’s much more akin to
time banking, or to points that people earn on their credit cards.
There’s no general monitoring of individual activity, and no scraping of
social media sites to see what people are up to. Instead, activities
such as volunteering or helping your neighbors would earn you credits
that could then be traded with others for receiving similar help. For
example, I spend 4 hours/week coaching a hockey team in my community,
and I use the credits I earn to have a local electrician (who possibly
has a kid on the team) help me install a garage door opener. There would
also be backing by the federal government for conversion to currency
(that would be taxed), or traded in for “fun” activities (such as
getting to attend a bill signing).
Yang, a lifetime New Yorker, faces an uphill battle in a crowded Democratic primary.
Though he hasn’t received much media attention, Yang’s campaign
is actually in its ninth month. The candidate is currently on a national
tour he labeled the “Humanity First Tour.”
WATCH:
In addition to the social credit system, Yang’s platform also calls for paying every American a universal basic income of $1,000 a month and government-sponsored journalism. While
his campaign for now doesn’t appear to be going anywhere, Big Tech is
already working to implement a Chinese-style social credit score system
which heaps rewards on establishment mouthpieces and severely punishes
right-wing dissidents.

Grove parents will have an opportunity to view the textbook and offer
their comments at the school district headquarters tomorrow afternoon. The new curriculum was created to comply with a 2011 state law
requiring that LGBT historical figures be added to K-12 history
curriculum. Although the California State Board of Education recommended
several textbooks that comply with the FAIR Education Act, the final decision on which textbooks to use is in the hands of local school districts.
“California textbooks should provide information, not indoctrination.
Many parents have strong objections to equating the moral character of
Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King to a drag queen with a criminal
record,” said California Family Council President Jonathan Keller. “In
addition, many mothers and fathers find it highly inappropriate to
introduce six and seven-year-old children to transgenderism, cross
dressing, sexual orientation, and other controversial sexualized topics.
The law does not require this and educators should not accept it.”
The second grade history-social science
book, My World published by Pearson, is one of several recommended
options being piloted and reviewed by public elementary schools around
California. The Pearson curriculum promotes universally loved American
historical figures like Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr. for
their strong moral character right alongside other controversial LGBT
“heroes” like Governor Candidate Gavin Newsom, and Sarria. Sarria is lauded as a “Champion of Gay Rights” in part for his
openness and honesty about his gay identity and his fondness for
dressing in drag when he ran for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors
over 50 years ago.
Later in the lesson students are asked to write down how Sarria’s
honesty inspired others. But the text fails to mention that Sarria, also
known as Empress Jose I, was a world famous San Francisco drag queen with a checkered past. For instance, in a book written about his life, The Empress is a Man, there is a whole chapter dedicated to Sarria’s arrest and conviction for solicitation after he was caught during a sting operation at the St. Francis Hotel. The criminal record forced him to give up his plans to be a teacher.

Folks, I am very excited to be a part of the upcoming “God’s Voice” conference, with national Christian talk show host Janet Mefferd, Rev. God’s Voice is responding to the nascent “Revoice” movement, which promotes the acceptance of a chaste LGBTQ “sexual minority” in the evangelical Church. That notion, first championed in the U.S. by one-time Communist Harry

us, as opposed to all people living under the same God-given, universal
moral code.
We now see clearly the expanding chaos that this subversive “gay”
ideology has engendered: if “identity” and “minority” status are derived
essentially from one’s subjective feelings, and then awarded full
“civil rights” status under the law, how can we as a society say no to
new identities and minorities, such as “pansexuals,” “asexuals,”
“non-binaries” and “genderqueers”? And mustn’t we affirm “gay” and LGBTQueer
youth in their “identities”? If “truth” is subjective and judging is
wrong (except judging “bigoted” Christians, of course), then how can we
affirm one sexual/gender “minority” and not the other(s)?
Now this chaos threatens the Church itself. I wonder: why is there no
discussion of recognizing and affirming other sin-based “minorities”
in the evangelical Church–say, lustful men (which I suspect is a rather
common “orientation”)?
Christians are called to deny themselves, and especially their flesh
(sins), for Jesus’ sake and to please God. Our identity is in Christ.
But the “LGBTQ+ Christian” movement demands that the Church
sympathetically recognize their non-biblical “identities,” even though
they are rooted in sinful desires and self-deception (Romans 1/Jeremiah 17:9)).
Invariably, the next step will be to demand, with ever greater zeal and
vociferousness, that all “compassionate” Christians do the same, while
shaming those who refuse to indulge homo-trans ideology.
It goes without saying that we should preach the Gospel and reach out with truth
in the love of Jesus to all sexual strugglers. But LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) ideology–though seductive in our
victim-mongering culture like the Sirens of Greek mythology–is an
ungodly, incrementalist agenda that Christians must reject in toto.
Please consider making plans to come to the “God’s Voice” conference
in Oklahoma City February 22-23, to gird yourself in biblical truth so
that you can better withstand the serious and growing threat of “LGBTQ

So do biological gender differences matter, or is any reference to “biological sex” bigoted?

One of the most liberal school systems in the country wants parents
to know that boys and girls are built differently. Except when that
truth is not politically convenient. The Fairfax County (Virginia) School Board announced an upcoming
workshop for parents. It’s called “Jack’s Brain, Jill’s Brain: Gender
Differences and Why They Matter.” The workshop will feature child
psychologists discussing how “girls and boys learn differently.”
Apparently, “rapidly emerging research” shows that “the brains of
females and males are developmentally, structurally and functionally
different.”
But, do they really mean this? After all, this is the school board
that voted to teach children that biological sex is meaningless. A Search-and-Destroy Mission
Last spring by a vote of 10-2, the nation’s 10th largest school
system made a search-and-destroy mission through its 80 hours of Sex Ed
(per student). Every reference to human beings having a “biological sex”
of male or female was removed. Children are now taught that “sex is
assigned at birth” and subject to change.
Parents and taxpayers in Fairfax County tried to stop them. When the
proposal was open to public comment, over 1,000 comments came in and 83%
opposed the change. But the school board had no interest in the views
of parents and people who pay their salaries. Only in pushing their
brand of sex politics on the children under their control.
No one is born a boy or girl. Some girls have penises. Don’t be a hater.
It’s impossible to square the curriculum changes with the upcoming
parent workshop. The school board is either lying to the children or
they’re lying to the parents.
Well, they’re lying to the children; but it’s even worse than that. Psychological Child Abuse
Teaching children they might be born in the wrong body is
psychological child abuse. That’s according to the American College of
Pediatricians. It is not uncommon for children approaching puberty to
experience a rise in anxiety. Thankfully, only a tiny fraction of them
will become confused about their sex. Most will grow out of this
confusion.
In fact, up to 98% of boys and 88% of girls will experience an end to
their sex confusion after naturally passing through puberty. That’s
according tothe Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,
5th edition.
But what if a school system heaps “affirmation” on the child’s
confusion? Will fewer boys come to accept their male bodies? Will more
girls schedule mastectomies? How many more?
A recent peer-reviewed study by Dr. Lisa Littman of Brown University
explored the alarming trend of adolescents suddenly announcing they’re
in the wrong body. Her research included the outsized role social
pressure plays in this phenomenon.
In one case, a 12-year-old girl was bullied for going through puberty
early. She told her parents that “she felt fat and hated her breasts,”
having learned online that hating your breasts is a sign of being
transgender. In another, a 14-year-old girl and her friends were taking
lessons from a popular coach. When the coach came out as transgender,
within a year all the girls in the group announced they were transgender
too.
The “social contagion” aspect is reminiscent of anorexia nervosa, and
there are other similarities. To the anorexic patient, losing weight is
the solution to the problem, not part of the problem. The “drive to
transition,” writes Littman, could be a “maladaptive coping mechanism”
to “avoid feeling other strong or negative emotions.” Profound Consequences
Fairfax County kids are now told that people can transition to a sex
that matches their “gender identity.” And it’s all sunshine and roses.
No warnings about what lies down this path.
Puberty-blockers are serious business. Puberty suppression and
cross-sex hormones can stunt a child’s growth, impair memory, and render
a person infertile for life. You cannot walk back up this road. What’s
more, there are no scientific studies on the use of these drugs on
children.
The next step is radical surgical removal of healthy organs, and
pressure is mounting to allow this surgery at younger and younger ages.
And then there are the tragic stories from the growing community of
“de-transitioners” who regret what they have done to their bodies. Their
lives do no fit the happy narrative.
Fairfax County has been awfully cavalier about a subject with such profound consequences.
After the school board voted that “biological sex is meaningless,”
parents fighting the system said it felt like the board was conducting
an experiment on other people’s children. Even The Washington Post
referredto this and other areas of the country as “laboratories” for
policy.
The Post, summarizing a quote from David Aponte, co-chair of the
advocacy group GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network) in
Northern Virginia, said: “Northern Virginia and California have served
as laboratories for policies regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgender issues.”
On the other hand, scrubbing male/female “biological sex” from
lessons did bring the curriculum in line with the school board’s new
code of conduct on transgenderism.
In 2015, the school board voted to open girls’ bathrooms, showers,
and sports teams to biological boys, and vice versa. If biological sex
has no meaning, boy bodies are no different than girl bodies, despite
what your lying eyes tell you. Science or Bigotry?
The Fairfax County transgender policy was hurried to a vote with only
two weeks’ notice to the public. Why? On the basis that it was needed
to counter harassment and discrimination. One savvy parent filed a
Freedom of Information Act request. As it turns out, not a single
discrimination complaint had been received by the school board.
But evidence doesn’t matter when you’re a leftist school board on a
reckless crusade. The board refused to consider that imposing these
sweeping changes in the name of non-discrimination could pave the way
for discrimination against other students — like making playing fields
un-level for girls, or taking away the private spaces biological girls
need. If you’re a boy who wants to shower with the girls, just call
yourself a trans-girl. In Fairfax County, girls no longer have the right
to object.
The policy is currently implemented on a school-by-school basis, but
transgender activists have never been satisfied to let principals work
out the details.
In 2016, in consultation with a trans advocate, the school board
drafted regulations to impose system-wide speech and conduct mandates.
The mandates included the forced use of false pronouns and the creation
of teacher “affirmation” teams to help students transition to another
sex.
On the eve of the vote, the regulations were tabled. But judging from
the rhetoric at recent school board meetings, they might return, and
soon.
So, is biological sex meaningful? When a school-sponsored
psychologist says so, it’s treated as science. But when parents make the
same point before the school board, it’s treated as rank bigotry.
In Fairfax County, where they love to play sex politics, it just depends on whom you ask.
