The Catholic Church recently released a video encouraging the universal acceptance of all religions. Pope Francis also alleges that a personal relationship with Jesus is dangerous. This is a quick look at how such thinking measures up with the Bible.

August 22, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – A multi-faith “higher committee” was announced this week to implement the “Human Fraternity” document signed by Pope Francis and a Grand Imam in February that stated, among other things, that a “pluralism and diversity” of religions is “willed by God.”Prominent members of the committee that has been set up in Abu Dhabi include Pope Francis’ personal secretary Monsignor Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, Bishop Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, and Judge Mohamed Mahmoud Abdel Salam, Advisor to the Grand Imam.News of the committee’s formation was announced by Emirates News Agency, the state news agency, on Monday and confirmed by Vatican News, the Holy See’s news website, the following day.The Committee has been tasked with “developing a framework to ensure the objectives of the global Declaration of Human Fraternity” for World Peace and Living Together are realized.” These objectives include the promotion of the “ideals of tolerance and cooperation,” according to Vatican News. It remains unclear at this point who formed the committee and gave the committee its mission.Grand Imam of Al Azhar Al Sharif said the formation of the higher committee comes at a time when all peace lovers are required to unite and join the efforts to spread coexistence, brotherhood, and tolerance throughout the world, reported Emirates News Agency in an August 22 report.The Grand Imam urged the committee members to spread the principles of the “Human Fraternity” document across the world so as to achieve security, coexistence, and peace for everyone, stressing that spreading the principles of the document would contribute to security and stability around the world.The Declaration has been widely criticized for claiming that a “diversity of religions” is “willed by God,” a statement incompatible with Catholic doctrine. It says: “The pluralism and the diversity of religions, colour, sex, race and language are willed by God in His wisdom, through which He created human beings.”Critics say this amounts to putting the Catholic faith and its worship of the God of revelation on a same plane with religions that do not worship the true God and deliberate reject Him. It also contradicts the teaching according to which there is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church.In a direct exchange between Pope Francis and Bishop Athanasius Schneider that took place in March 2019, Pope Francis said that the phrase in question on the diversity of religions meant “the permissive will of God,” giving explicit permission to Bishop Schneider to quote his words.Following his meeting with Pope Francis, Bishop Schneider told Diane Montagna of LifeSiteNews:“I tried to go more deeply into the question, at least by quoting the sentence as it reads in the document. The sentence says that as God wills the diversity of sexes, color, race and language, so God wills the diversity of religions. There is an evident comparison between the diversity of religions and the diversity of sexes.“I mentioned this point to the Holy Father, and he acknowledged that, with this direct comparison, the sentence can be understood erroneously. I stressed in my response to him that the diversity of sexes is not the permissive will of God but is positively willed by God. And the Holy Father acknowledged this and agreed with me that the diversity of the sexes is not a matter of God’s permissive will.“But when we mention both of these phrases in the same sentence, then the diversity of religions is interpreted as positively willed by God, like the diversity of sexes. The sentence therefore leads to doubt and erroneous interpretations, and so it was my desire, and my request that the Holy Father rectify this. But he said to us bishops: you can say that the phrase in question on the diversity of religions means the permissive will of God.”This private acknowledgment on the part of Pope Francis was not followed by any public clarification or rectification of the Abu Dhabi Declaration, which as it stands, still contains this troubling assertion that some critics say amounts to material heresy.Despite this, in mid-March 2019, only a few weeks after Pope Francis’ private conversation with Bishop Schneider, the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue sent out a letter dated February 21, 2019, to Catholic university professors in Rome, asking them to give the Declaration the “widest possible dissemination.”The letter’s signatory, Bishop Miguel Ayuso Guixot, secretary of the Pontifical Council, asked professors as well as priests and religious active in universities “to facilitate the distribution, the study, and the reception” of the Document.The creation of a “higher committee” constitutes a further step in the promotion of a gravely problematic document, this time under the form of a joint initiative involving high-ranking members of the Catholic hierarchy and Muslim dignitaries of the prestigious Sunnite university of Al-Azhar in Cairo and others who share its (at least apparent) drive to implement a restructured, relativist type of Islam that also purports to accept a “diversity of religions” as compatible with the will of Allah.Bishop Miguel Ayuso Guixot, who is now president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Relations, is the higher committee’s most high-ranking Catholic member.He has a long record of cordial relations with Muslim dignitaries. In January of 2016 – he had not yet been ordained a bishop at the time – Fr. Ayuso Guixot was the only non-Islamic participant at the First Forum of Arab Thinkers in Abu Dhabi on “Interreligious Dialogue and Extremism.” Promoting a “culture of the encounter,” he then encouraged all to pray according to their own traditions.Also present in the list of members of the new Committee is Monsignor Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, personal secretary of Pope Francis. Mgr Lahzi Gaid is a Coptic Catholic priest who is fluent in Arabic, Italian, French and English and “always on hand,” according to the Emirati press, to translate for the Pope. He was named Second Secretary in April 2014 and was by the Pope’s side during Francis’ visit to the United Arab Emirates last February when the document on Human Fraternity was signed.Arab members of the Committee include Prof Mohamed Hussein Mahrasawi, President of Al-Azhar University; Judge Mohamed Mahmoud Abdel Salam, Advisor to the Grand Imam; Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi; Dr Sultan Faisal Al Rumaithi, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders; and Yasser Hareb Al Muhairi, Emirati writer and media personality.The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said that the formation of the committee would “help to implement the shared vision of developing initiatives and ideas to foster tolerance, cooperation and coexistence,” according to the statement published by the Emirates News Agency. “The UAE supports all efforts that promote peace and spread the principles of fraternity and peaceful coexistence worldwide,” he added.The higher committee has been given a global role, as it will be in charge of preparing “the necessary plans to implement the document,” and will “follow up on its implementation at regional and international levels, and hold meetings with religious leaders, heads of international organizations and others to support and spread the idea behind this historic document.”The higher committee will also be the authority in charge of supervising the new “House of Abrahamic Family” whose construction was ordered in February by the Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Saadiyat Island in order to commemorate the “historic visit by Pope Francis and Dr. Ahmad Al Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar, which culminated with the signing of the Abu Dhabi Declaration that heralds a new era in the history of humanity.”While the Abu Dhabi document declares that religions must “never incite war, hateful attitudes, hostility and extremism, nor must they incite violence or the shedding of blood,” its writers fail to take into account that Islam was imposed through violence, bloodshed and armed conquest, and that the Koran itself, as well as the Hadiths relating the life, deeds and words of the “Prophet” are full of calls to violence towards non-Muslims.The whole document is also permeated with the masonic vocabulary of “tolerance” and “fraternity” that rests on the idea that all forms of “dogma” or affirmation of a transcendent truth are to be rejected, while religions accept to submit to the principles of the Enlightenment that allow, at best, for the affirmation of a global “spirituality” manifesting itself through a multiplicity of beliefs and traditions.____________________________________________________________SEE ALSO:Shaikh Mohammad orders construction of House of Abrahamic family

BETHESDA, Md. — A brochure for a late-term abortion facility in Maryland outlines that it offers “remembrance” services for mothers who end the life of their unborn child, including an opportunity to hold the baby or to have photographs taken of their deceased son or daughter.
“Many patients request a remembrance of their baby to take home with them,” the document for Leroy Carhart’s Wildwood Medical Center reads. “Every family approaches this experience with their own unique emotional, spiritual, and cultural background. There is no right or wrong way, just ‘your way.’“Once the process of healing has begun, you may want to consider a token of the precious time with you and your baby had together,” it says.The page outlines various services that are available, from viewing and/or holding the baby, to obtaining photographs or fingerprints as to remember their child. Spiritual and ceremonial accommodations are also available, as well as a remembrance certificate.Carhart recently made headlines after he told a reporter with the BBC that he has no problem acknowledging that he is killing a baby.“To the fetus, it makes no difference whether it’s born or not born,” he said during his interview with Hilary Andersson. “The baby has no input in this, as far as I’m concerned.”Andersson, taken aback that Carhart used the word “baby,” noted that most abortionists rather use the term “fetus” because they don’t want to recognize the personhood of the child who is to be murdered.“I think that it is a baby, and I use it with the patients,” Carhart replied without hesitation.“And you don’t have a problem with killing a baby?” Andersson inquired.“Absolutely not,” Carhart responded. “I have no problem if it’s in the mother’s uterus.”According to reports, at another point during the interview, Carhart showed Andersson the instruments used in second trimester abortions and described crushing the baby’s skull in removing the child from the womb. His vivid word picture again surprised Andersson.“]Y]ou’ve got to remember that this baby’s been dead for 48 hours. It’s not like we’re crushing a living skull,” Carhart remarked.Abortion is legal throughout all nine months of pregnancy in Maryland. Carhart declined to say during the interview at what gestational mark he would be uncomfortable performing an abortion.As previously reported, in 2017, Carhart was captured during an undercover investigation likening the lifeless and “mushy” bodies of aborted babies to “meat in a crock pot.”“So, what makes the baby ‘mushy?’” the woman, who posed as an abortion-minded mother, asked. “The fact that it’s not alive for 2 to 3 days,” Carhart responded.“Oh, so I’ll have a dead baby in me?” the woman inquired. “For three days, yeah,” Carhart said.“Will it start to decay or something?” the woman asked. “No,” Carhart said. “It’s like putting meat in a crock pot. Okay? It doesn’t get broken. It gets softer. It doesn’t get infected.”“Okay, so the dead baby in me is like meat in a crock pot,” the woman repeated. “Pretty much,” Carhart replied. “Kinda much.”Carhart claims to “strongly” believe in God and previously attended a Methodist church. His facility is affiliated with the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, which is comprised of clergy members who pray for God’s “blessings” upon abortion facilities.

Alabama’s new marriage law, which effectively removes the state from the responsibility of sanctioning marriage, goes into effect today. The new law removes the state as an authority governing marriage and reduces its responsibilities regarding the institution to a mere record-keeping role.Senate Bill 69 (SB69) passed overwhelmingly in both houses and was signed by Governor Kay Ivey in May. The new law abolishes the requirement in Alabama that a couple must receive a marriage license prior to getting married. Probate judges will now simply record that a marriage exists between any two individuals (straight or gay) based on signed affidavits of the two principles.According to SB69’s summary, the new law will “eliminate the requirement for solemnization of a marriage for it to be considered valid.” It will also serve to “specify that the judge of probate would have no authority to reject any recording of a marriage, so long as the affidavits, forms, and data are provided.”So probate judges will no longer have to violate their own religious principles in order to sanction gay “marriage.” Neither do they have any standing to disallow such a “marriage.” They simply record it based on the forms submitted by the couple.Previously, in Alabama, this had been a problem, with some judges refusing to issue marriage licenses due to religious objections to same-sex marriage, which was made legal in the United States by judicial fiat in the Supreme Court’s Obergefell v. Hodges decision in 2015.Then state Chief Justice Roy Moore declared in February 2015 that the state was not bound by federal guidelines after a federal judge struck down the state’s ban on homosexual marriage. Many state judges, including Pike County Judge Wes Allen, stopped giving out marriage licenses all together at that point.“I believe marriage is between a man and a woman and firmly believe that Biblical world view,” Allen said. “And I couldn’t put my signature on a marriage license that I knew not to be a marriage.”But Representative Neil Rafferty (D-Birmingham) — the only openly gay member of the Alabama legislature — claims that the new law is “born of out of prejudice.”“It accommodates a handful of judges that couldn’t get their personal feelings, couldn’t check those at the door and do their jobs,” Rafferty said when the bill passed in May.While the state is getting out of the marriage permission and sanctioning business, it does maintain a few regulations on who can be considered married in the state. Minors between 16 and 18 years of age must still obtain parental permission prior to applying for the state’s new Marriage Certificate. The state will not record a marriage if either party is already shown to be married to another person. The two parties requesting a marriage certificate cannot be related by blood or adoption and the document must be notarized.While some opponents believe that Alabama is guilty of destroying the traditional idea of marriage, the opposite is actually true. In the early days of the United States, state marriage licenses were predominantly used as a way to prevent polygamy and mixed-race marriages. Alabama’s decision to remove itself from the sanctioning of marriage is a return toward the days of yore when the institution was mainly a religious and societal one — not a governmental one.Other states, including Oklahoma, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, and Montana are considering similar measures.Ideally, marriage is a contract between a man, a woman, and God. No government entity needs to be involved. Alabama’s new law, in effect, nullifies the edicts of federal judges, the Supreme Court, and any other court or government that seeks to force their definition of what marriage is on its citizens. For centuries the Roman Catholic religion said a person could not own a Bible & if they did they could not have their sins forgiven. One reason for this is the simple fact that Roman Catholicism does not teach what the Bible teaches. The Bible actually exposes Romanism as a counterfeit religion pretending to be authentic Christianity (2 Cor. 11:4). For over 34 years, Evangelist Mike Gendron was a devout Roman Catholic and a strong defender of the "one true church." He was taught from a very early age, to trust and rely on the church, its priests, the sacraments and his own good works for salvation. However in 1981 while attending an evangelical seminar, he realized the Bible is the supreme authority for knowing truth. His new excitement and hunger for the inspired word of God led him to help organize the very first Scripture Study at a Catholic Church in Dallas. Mike soon realized that many of the teachings and traditions of the Catholic religion were not found in the Bible. After more study he discovered the Roman Catholic plan of salvation was diametrically opposed to the Gospel of grace revealed in the Bible. Savior. After discerning that God seeks worshipers in spirit and truth, Mike left the Catholic Church in 1985 for a church where the true Gospel is proclaimed and Scripture is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
In 1988 he left a successful career in corporate management to study at Dallas Theological Seminary. Four years later, during his last semester at DTS, Mike and his wife Jane's love for Catholics inspired them to begin a ministry that would point Catholics to the Lord Jesus Christ as their all sufficient Savior. Salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone because all of our righteous deeds are tainted by sin (Isaiah 64:6) and are not good enough for us to merit salvation. Therefore, because there is nothing we can do to obtain it, there's only one thing left for us to do, trust in what God has done in the person and work of Jesus.
Salvation is being delivered, being "saved," from the righteous judgment of God. All of us have sinned (Romans 3:23) and are under a legal judgment from God. Therefore, in order to be saved from God's righteous judgment we need to be saved by what God has provided for us in the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. That is the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
God is the standard of righteousness, not us. God says to be holy because he is only (1 Peter 1:16). This means that the standard is the character of God. Holiness is the quality of God that is synonymous with his perfection, his sinlessness, and his inability to sin. He is perfect and righteous in every thought and every deed. His holiness is a quality of his essence a powerful and pervasive presence of incredible purity. This is the standard that God wants for us because it reflects his greatness and perfection. But because we fall short in our sins, we are not holy. Therefore, because everything we do is touched by sin, we are not able to accomplish what is necessary in order to be saved from the righteous judgment of God. God knows this, and so he provided for us a means of salvation. That means is through the incarnation of Jesus who is God in flesh (John 1:1, 14; Colossians 2:9), who never sinned (1 Peter 2:22), and who bore our sin in his body and the cross (1 Peter 2:24). Remember that sin is a legal debt. Our legal debts were transferred to Christ and canceled on the cross (Colossians 2:14). Jesus did it all. Therefore, all we have left is our faith in what God does. This is why the Bible says we are justified by faith (Romans 5:1) apart from the works of the law (Romans 3:28).
So, faith alone in Christ alone is the only way to be saved because that is the only way to put complete and total trust in the work of God and not in our ability to be good enough to achieve or maintain our salvation.
