BOB JONES UNIVERSITY HOSTS ROMAN CATHOLIC SPEAKER
(Friday Church News Notes, April 17, 2020, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from Machen White, “BJU Then and Now...Abby Johnson,” Apr. 7, 2020, Musings of a Fundamentalist: “On February 2018 Dr. Steve Pettit, president of Bob Jones University, praised Dr. Billy Graham’s ministry and his legacy. During a chapel message on November 7th of 2019, Dr. Bob praised the ministry of Dr. Billy Kim. Dr. Kim has always been a lover of the Graham ministry. It is a well-documented fact that Graham and Kim made partnering with the Roman Catholics (and others) IN MINISTRY a matter of course. On January 23, 2020, BJU invited the public on campus to screen the movie Unplanned created by pro-life advocate Abby Johnson. Then on March 5, 2020, BJU hosted the Piedmont Women’s Center (PWC) for their fundraising event. The speaker for the evening was Abby Johnson. During the event, Johnson ‘preached the gospel.’ On stage, displayed on a banner, were the words of Isaiah 43:19. Johnson said, ‘We must give the gospel to these ladies, not the watered-down Jesus but the powerful Jesus...everyone here is a sinner and in the need of a savior.’ She used the words ‘cross, gospel, sinners, Jesus.’ Folks left the event believing Johnson to be a born again Christian. Here is what they did not know: Johnson was raised a Southern Baptist. Through a series of events, she converted to Roman Catholicism ... Johnson explains her journey away from a gospel-preaching church and into Romanism. She proudly admits that she uses the pro-life platform to evangelize for Romanism.”

POPE SAYS JUDAS IS POSSIBLY IN HEAVEN
(Friday Church News Notes, April 17, 2020, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Speaking at a papal mass on April 8, Pope Francis said, “Something that calls my attention is that Jesus never calls him ‘traitor’: [Jesus] says he will be betrayed, but he doesn’t say to [Judas], ‘traitor.’ He never says, ‘Go away, traitor.’ Never. In fact, he calls him, ‘Friend,’ and he kisses him. … How did Judas end up? I don’t know. Jesus threatens forcefully here; he threatens forcefully: ‘woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born.’ But does that mean that Judas is in Hell? I don’t know.” The pope also said there is a “little Judas that each one of us has within” (“Satan pays badly, warns pope,” Aleteia, Apr. 8, 2020). The pope lightly passes over the words of Jesus that it would be better for Judas if he had never been born (Mt. 26:24). When the apostles chose a replacement for Judas after Christ’s ascension, they prayed, “Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place” (Acts 1:24-25). What is Judas’ own place? Jesus answered this in His high priestly prayer, as He said to the Father, “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the SON OF PERDITION; that the scripture might be fulfilled” (John 17:12). “Perdition” is the Greek apoleia, which is also translated “destruction” (Mt. 7:13) and “damnation” (2 Pe.2:3). It is used for eternal judgment in Romans 9:22; Philippians 3:19; Hebrews 10:39; 2 Peter 2:1, 3; 3:7, 16; and Revelation 17:8, 11. The antichrist is also called “the son of perdition” (2 Thessalonians 2:3).

STREAMING CHURCH SERVICES BANNED IN CHINA
(Friday Church News Notes, April 17, 2020, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - We understand from other sources that some believers are able to work around the ban that is described in the following report, but the ban is real and conditions are always oppressive in China. It is not the land of the free, and we need to pray for God’s people and the work of the gospel there. The following is excerpted from ChristianHeadlines.com, Apr. 7, 2020: “Churches around the world are staying in contact online during the COVID-19 pandemic, but such an action remains illegal in China. The watchdog Bitter Winter reported April 5 that very few organizations, and ‘only those that hold state-issued licenses,’ can stream religious services online in China. ‘We can’t get together because of the pandemic,’ an underground house church pastor in the province of Jiangxi told Bitter Winter. The pastor tried to stream a sermon Feb. 9 through an app, but was stopped. ‘Our first and only online gathering was blocked by the government soon after it started,’ the preacher said. That same day, another house church pastor, in the province of Shandong, also tried to stream online services. ‘The meeting was stopped less than 20 minutes after the start,’ Bitter Winter reported. A 2018 Chinese law bans streaming services. ‘No organizations or individuals will be allowed to live-stream or broadcast religious activities, including praying, burning incense, ordinations, scripture chanting, holding Mass, worshipping or receiving baptism online in the form of text, photo, audio or video,’ the law says. On Feb. 23, the government-approved Two Chinese Christian Councils of Shandong Province issued a notice ‘demanding all churches in the province to stop live-streaming their services immediately,’ Bitter Winter reported. On Feb. 28, the United Front Work Department of the Nanhu district in Jiaxing, a government organization in Zhejiang province, said it would investigate all online activities by state-approved churches. Churches in China must register with the government and join either the Three-Self Patriotic Movement or the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association. But because these state-approved churches face severe restrictions, millions of Christians worship in illegal underground churches.”

UNITED NATIONS PARTNERING WITH SOCIAL MEDIA TO STIFLE FREE SPEECH GLOBALLY
(Friday Church News Notes, April 10, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “World Health Organization,” Reformation Charlotte, Mar. 17, 2020: “Free speech is the foundation upon which a free society is built and when freedom of speech is taken away, society is no longer actually free. In the free world, free speech has been a right protected regardless of the truthfulness of the speech itself. ... The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that it is partnering with social media giants to ‘flag and take down’ ‘misinformation’ regarding the coronavirus pandemic. ABC 7 reports, ‘There is a flow of misinformation online about the virus, which health officials are calling an infodemic and they are mounting a concerted effort to combat it. ... Andy Pattison, the manager of digital solutions at WHO, [says] this could well be the first global infodemic. ... The WHO is working directly with tech companies on a daily basis to flag and take down bad information, and to ensure that facts from reliable sources get to users first’ (‘How COVID-19 infodemic is infecting the internet with false information,’ ABC7news.com, Mar. 6, 2020). Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted in a comment on Facebook recently, ‘Given the developing situation, we’re working with national ministries of health and organizations like the WHO, CDC and UNICEF to help them get out timely, accurate information on the coronavirus. We’re also focused on stopping hoaxes and harmful misinformation...’ While there certainly is a plethora of false information being widely disseminated around social media, a free society has the obligation to allow it, protect the right to it, and to combat it with true information. The fact that a world government organization is partnering with social media to limit the information that they alone deem ‘false’ or ‘misleading’ should raise the hairs on everyone’s necks. This isn’t protecting the public, it’s harming people. It’s outright tyranny on a global scale.”

KENNETH COPELAND DECLARES AMERICA HEALED
(Friday Church News Notes, April 3, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Pentecostal preacher Kenneth Copeland has exercised his prophetic “Word-Faith” powers to take authority over Covid-19 and to declare America healed. He said, “Standing in the Office of the Prophet of God, I execute judgement on you, COVID 19. ... I demand a vaccination to come immediately. I call you done. I call you gone. ... It is finished. It is over. And the United States of America is healed and well again, sayeth the mighty Spirit of peace who is also the Prince of War” (“Judgment Is Executed on Covid-19,” Mar. 30, 2020, YouTube). This deluded man is a reproach to the cause of Jesus Christ and the Word of God. I have seen him command a hurricane to dissolve and a crippled girl to be healed, and after the huffing and puffing and commanding and proclaiming was finished, the hurricane was still a destructive hurricane and the crippled girl was still crippled. It’s on video for all to see, just like this present fiasco. Jesus Christ can command storms and heal every disease, and He gave miracle-working sign gifts to His apostles to prove their apostleship. “Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds” (2 Co. 12:12). But Copeland is not an apostle. He is “deceiving and being deceived” (2 Ti. 3:13), like the other Word-Faith hoaxers. I believe in miracles and have seen a great many miracles over these past 47 years of walking with Christ, and I believe in healing and have seen miraculous healings in answer to prayer, but we can’t demand and command these things. In this present time, we walk by faith, not sight, as we wait for the “manifestation of the sons of God” (Ro. 8:18-25).

PENTECOSTAL PASTOR ARRESTED FOR HAVING SUNDAY SERVICES
(Friday Church News Notes, April 3, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Pentecostal pastor Rodney Howard-Browne was arrested on Sunday, March 29, by Hillsborough County (Tampa, Florida) deputies for holding services in violation of county orders. He was charged with a misdemeanor for “unlawful assembly and violating quarantine orders during a public health emergency” and released on bail within 40 minutes. Sheriff Chad Chronister said, “Our goal here is not to stop anyone from worshiping, but the safety and well-being of our community must always come first” (Tampa Bay Times, Mar. 30, 2020). Quoting Mark 12:31, Chronister said, “Loving your neighbors is protecting them, not jeopardizing their health by exposing them to this deadly virus.” I’m not a fan of Howard-Browne, to say the least, who is a Word-Faith heretic, practices the near-insanity of Spirit-laughter and Spirit-drunkenness, and is a conspiratorial nut who has allegedly said that the covid-19 pandemic is a “phantom plague” created by the Chinese and planned at a Bill Gates Foundation event (Tampa Bay Times). But even heretics and nuts are guaranteed freedom of speech and freedom of religion and freedom of assembly under the U.S. Constitution. (And the government should not be in the business of deciding who is or isn’t a heretic or a nut.) These are indeed trying times, and it will be interesting to see how this case is decided.

THE ROOT OF AMERICA’S ILLS
(Friday Church News Notes, April 3, 2020, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The bottom line is that America needs to repent of her wickedness before God. Radical political action and multi-trillion dollar national debts will not solve America’s ills, because the fundamental issue is her terrible sin against the God that has shown her such light and mercy. And the very root of it all is the apostasy, corruption, compromise, worldliness, and lukewarmness in her churches. And that includes the majority of the most staunchly conservative, evangelical, “fundamentalist,” and even “independent Baptist”! From my perspective, most “Bible-believing” churches in America are lukewarm at best. I believe that the promise of God to Solomon at the dedication of the temple has a proper application to God’s people in America today. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). What happens in God’s house dramatically affects the White House. It’s high time to exchange a frivolous fun and games program, an entertainment program with a thin veneer of religiosity, for a program of serious prayer, serious Bible study, serious Bible preaching with exegetical substance and plain reproof and rebuke, serious holiness, serious separation from the wickedness of this fallen world, serious pilgrim Christianity, serious Christian living in the homes, being serious about the fathers being the heads of the homes and the mothers being the keepers of the home, serious about putting God’s will before economics, serious training of children and discipling of youth, and above all, serious about a regenerate church membership!

ELTON JOHN PREACHING
“BE WHATEVER YOU WANT TO BE”
(Friday Church News Notes, April 3, 2020, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Rocker Elton John, a prominent gay-rights activist, emceed “The iHeart Living Room Concert for America” on Sunday, March 29. Artists included Alicia Keys, the Backstreet Boys, and Mariah Carey, all performing from their homes. At 73, Elton John has this message for youth: “Just be yourself. Don’t let anybody do you down. ... I love being gay. ... If you’re unhappy at home, leave, Don’t let anybody torture you for being gay or for your sexuality. ... Be proud of who you are. There are so many wonderful diverse people in the world--straight people, gay people [and] transgender people. We’re all God’s kids. People who should know better in places of responsibility [and] attack gay people, transgender people … they claim to be close to God, [but] they couldn’t be further away from God if they tried” (“Elton John Has a Message for Struggling LGBTQ Youth,” Variety, July 5, 2019). It appears that Elton now thinks of himself as a prophet of God, since he speaks on God’s behalf. Elton’s message has been the message of the rock & roll pop culture since its inception. In the 1960s, I was captivated when the Rolling Stones sang, “I’m free to do what I want any old time,” and the Animals said amen to that with, “It’s my life and I’ll do what I want; it’s my mind and I’ll think what I want.” That philosophy resonated with me in those days, but the end of living for oneself is death, because man is not his own God. To live as one pleases is rebellion to the true God who gives us life and breath and all things (Acts 17:25). The “be what you please” message is a lot older than the 1960s, in fact. About 6,000 years ago, in a very nice garden, a serpent said, “Ye shall not surely die ... ye shall be as gods” (Ge. 3:5). It was a lie. We didn’t make ourselves and we aren’t gods and we do die.

SWISS AIR LINES DROPS CHOCOLATIER "LAEDERACH" FOLLOWING PUBLIC OPPOSITION TO COMPANY'S PRO-LIFE, BIBLICAL MARRIAGE VIEWS BY HOMOSEXUALS, PRO-ABORTIONISTS

This comes after months of protests, including the attacking of chocolate stores with butyric acid.
"In October, left-wing activists had attacked a Läderach store in Basel, Switzerland, using butyric acid. The strong smell of the acid may cause irritation of the respiratory system, as well as nausea and vomiting. Following the attack, the store in Basel had to close for two days. According to a report by German newspaper “Junge Freiheit,” vandalism took place at seven individual stores."
"In December, homosexuals were standing in front of another store, hugging and kissing each other."

SWISS AIR LINES DROPS CHOCOLATIER "LAEDERACH" FOLLOWING PUBLIC OPPOSITION TO COMPANY'S PRO-LIFE,
BIBLICAL MARRIAGE VIEWS

ZURICH — Swiss International Air Lines recently decided to discontinue working with the prestigious chocolatier Läderach reportedly due to “negative press” and subsequent feedback about the company’s opposition to homosexuality and abortion.
The Swiss news outlet Beobachter reports that the airline had been gifting the chocolate to premium passengers for 10 years, but after headlines such as “Chocolate King Fights Against Abortion and Homosexuals,” some patrons and employees began to comment about the matter.
It was “clearly too much for the airline, which has many gay crew members,” Beobachter opined.
Läderach’s CEO, Johannes Läderach, is a Christian, and his father is the president of the local branch of the organization Christianity for Today, as well as a treasurer for the Switzerland March for Life.
The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation reports that some members of the public have lashed out at Läderach over its stance on life and marriage, as homosexual and abortion “rights” advocates have accused it of “funding hatred.”
“In October, a store in Basel had to be evacuated following a stink bomb attack,” the outlet explains. “In December, same-sex couples hugged and kissed outside a Läderach branch in Zug.”
In September, members of the socialist JUSO Graubünden held a protest in front of one store, releasing a statement decrying the company’s affiliation with “Christian fundamentalist circles” and its donations to such causes.
“The inciting of this hatred is unacceptable. Women hate and LGBTQ hate have no place in our free, democratic society, so we call for a boycott of Läderach,” it said. “Free development of life and self-determination of people are the cornerstones on which our society is built, and archaic, dusty thought patterns have neither space nor are they acceptable.”
But Läderach says that the chocolate manufacturer doesn’t hate anyone, as it never asks about a person’s sexuality in hiring and the majority of its managers are women.
“Because I fight for the unborn life, I’m accused of misogyny. But I’m not a misogynist,” he told NZ am Sonntag. “I understand it if people value a woman’s right to choose more than an unborn child’s right to life. But I ask for understanding for my opinion. I’m allowed to have a different opinion.”
The CEO states that the company has lost some customers due to the beliefs of its leadership, but other customers have begun frequenting its shops out of support for the Christian chocolatier. He said that the business continued to grow in 2019 despite the opposition.
Swiss International Air Lines has had little to say about the decision to drop the company, which will reportedly go into effect officially in April.
Läderach also has stores in the United States (New York and New Jersey), Canada and the United Kingdom. In 2018, Elias Läderach was named World Chocolate Master in a confection competition in Paris, France.

LANCASTER, PA. CONFERENCE LEAVES MENNONITE CHURCH USA OVER CONCERNS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY

 Mennonite World Conference
LANCASTER, PA. CONFERENCE LEAVES MENNONITE CHURCH USA OVER CONCERNS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY
BY HEATHER CLARK
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:

LANCASTER, Pa. — The largest conference of Mennonite Church USA has parted
ways with the denomination over concerns that include increasing acceptance of
practicing homosexuals in leadership positions.
The Lancaster Mennonite Conference, which consists of over 170 congregations, officially left the Mennonite Church USA on Jan. 1 following a vote two years ago to no longer affiliate with the group.
“[D]ifferences over whether LMC can remain in this affiliation have reached a breaking point,” Chairman Keith Weaver wrote to the Constituency Leaders Council in 2014, according to the Mennonite World Review.
He told that outlet that, at that time, the Conference Board of Bishops wanted to reevaluate its relationship with the denomination in light of concerning developments, such as the licensure of a lesbian woman by the Mountain States Conference, and the decision by Eastern Mennonite University to review—and ultimately change—its policy prohibiting practicing homosexuals from working at the institution. Read reports here and here.

150 Mennonite leaders had also signed a letter supporting the allowance of members to be in same-sex relationships.
Listening meetings were consequently held about the matter, and over 700 attendees submitted responses surrounding the question of whether or not to end the affiliation. Church polity, vision and governance were also stated reasons for the proposed departure.
In November 2015, it was announced that 82 percent of the leaders of the Conference had voted to leave Mennonite Church USA.

“[This] announcement will likely be received in very different ways by leaders and congregations of Lancaster Mennonite Conference and across the denomination. Leaders were encouraged to interact with others in loving and respectful ways and to pray for the Lord’s leading in the life of [the Lancaster Mennonite Conference] in the days ahead,” Conference leadership said in a statement.
The separation did not take effect until Jan. 1, 2018.
“We are disappointed that Lancaster Mennonite Conference made the decision to leave MC USA, because it is painful to separate from part of our body in Christ. We will miss our mutual sharing of valuable gifts and perspectives, and lament our diminished capacity for fellowship across difference,” Ervin Stutzman, executive director of Mennonite Church USA, said in a statement on Friday.
“The official separation does not mean that all of our relationships with Lancaster Conference will end,” he added. “Members of the conference will continue to participate in some MC USA program agencies such as Everence and MHS Alliance. And there are many other ways that members will cross paths in the coming years, particularly in inter-Mennonite programs such as Mennonite Central Committee, Mennonite Disaster Service, and Mennonite Economic Development Associates.”
As previously reported, in 2014, Hartville Mennonite Church in Lake, Ohio likewise decided to leave Mennonite Church USA over concerns about homosexuality.
“We felt that Mennonite Church USA and [our church] were going in different directions concerning scriptural authority and holiness,” Ross Miller, pastor of the church, told Mennonite World Review.
According to the membership guidelines of Mennonite Church USA, the denomination holds that homosexuality is a sin and that marriage is defined as the union of a man and a woman. Pastors are also prohibited from officiating same-sex ceremonies.
“We hold the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective (1995) to be the teaching position of Mennonite Church USA. ‘We believe that God intends marriage to be a covenant between one man and one woman for life’ (Article 19),” the guidelines read. “We hold the Saskatoon (1986) and Purdue (1987) statements describing homosexual,  extramarital and premarital sexual activity as sin to be the teaching position of Mennonite Church USA.”

Mennonite Church USA
EXCERPTS:
Citing the divide over same-sex relationships, Stoltzfus said most people within MC USA still hold a traditional view of marriage as between a man and a woman “but there’s more room and space within MC USA in our polity for this diversity or disagreement.”
He added there is a strong belief among the 36 congregations in the Atlantic Coast Conference that “we need to engage and invite this marginalized group of people into an opportunity to worship with us and others are not comfortable with that.”

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS OF THE INDEPENDENT FUNDAMENTAL BAPTISTS

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS OF THE INDEPENDENT FUNDAMENTAL BAPTISTS
BY STEVE SORENSON
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:

The 10 Commandments of the IFB

  1. Though shalt have no other gods before me or make into thee any graven image – however though mayest hold in high esteem and worship the Independent Fundamental Baptist church and doctrine, and the KJV, and the pastor, oh and missionaries (but only IFB supported missionaries), oh and the mental image of that perfect IFBer who is sinless.
  2. Though shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain – though mayest not even use “gosh” or “cheese and crackers” because they too closely resemble their vain counter parts.
  3. Remember to keep the Sabbath day holy by going to church Sunday morning Sunday school, Sunday morning service, Sunday evening service, Wednesday night prayer meeting, Thursday evangelism outreach and Saturday morning door to door witnessing. On Sundays though must not do any work on the sabbath day but must sit on the couch and watch football or nap (if you are a man) or cook, clean and care for the children (if you are a lady).
  4. Honor thy father and thy mother – even if they don’t adopt our authoritarian parenting methods including spanking.
  5. Though shalt not murder – physically. Character assassinations are ok though.
  6. Though shalt not commit adultery – unless though art a pastor and his secretary or a pastor and the girls in his youth group. Then it’s ok.
  7. Though shalt not steal – unless though calleth it tithes, offerings, gifts, pastor appreciation offerings, building funds, missions funds, bus ministry funds or another project though hast deemed appropriate to take money from thy congregation.
  8. Though shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor – except through the proper gossip lines and only if thy motive is so that people can pray for that neighbor.
  9. Though shalt not covet – unless though art coveting thy neighbor’s new KJV Bible. Gluttony is also ok.
  10. Though shalt not listen to or sing music other than hymns with only piano and/or organ accompaniment or that which has already been approved such as Ron Hamilton, Frank Garlock, and/or a Majesty Music affiliate or other such Fundamental type music ministry.
  11. Though shalt dress modestly at all times. “Modest”, however, is defined only by the IFB and no other definition of modest is acceptable.
  12. Though shalt not be part of the world but ye must be separate from it. Though shalt not even give cause for anyone to even think that though art part of the world in anyway. Though must be completely separate in every way – so much so that though thinketh though art better than everyone else and so out of touch with society in general that though hast no idea what society needs or wants spiritually.
  13. Though must attend an IFB approved college or Bible Institute for higher learning and ministry preparation.
  14. Though shalt never be depressed, sad, angry, or experience any other “negative” type emotion.
  15. Though must never drink alcohol or even think about drinking an alcoholic beverage, going to a liquour store, bar or restaurant/convenience store that sells alcohol. Using medicine that contains alcohol is OK though, oh and so is vanilla extract.
  16. Though must strive for perfection in every way.
Yes, I realize there are more than ten but the IFB is allowed to add their own set if rules and laws so it’s OK.

WHY I DUMPED TED CRUZ FOR DONALD TRUMP

WHY I DUMPED TED CRUZ FOR DONALD TRUMP
BY RONNIE HERNE
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:

Dear Ted –
I was in the middle of composing an article on you when you quit the race, “suspending my campaign” wasn't that how you put it? So I dropped both you and the article.
But just recently you really ticked me off! I got this freakish “Air Telegram” from you (in my regular mail) stridently begging me for money AFTER YOU'D ALREADY QUIT THE RACE! You said, and I Quote:
[LAST CHANCE TO “DUMP TRUMP” AVOID GOP DISASTER... STAND UP FOR YOUR VALUES... DONATE TODAY! Transmission: 10:06 AM Houston, Texas [not dated]]
So I'm resurrecting my article, Ted. It was a “Dear Ted” Dear John. I was explaining how I went from being ALL IN for you to finally, and firmly, setting you completely and unconditionally aside in order to back Trump to victory.
And I'm including right here your own words on party unity back in 2012. Sad how hatred has turned your heart, Ted. (This recently released interview [6 minutes] also includes your own words, Ted, on Heidi's involvement with the CFR.)
Just so it's all very clear to you, Ted, I am standing up for my values. Donald Trump may be a frog complete with the warts but he's the prince that is singing my song. And he's singing it directly to me, Ted. Do you get it?
Back in the day, I was so proud of you! Proud of you getting elected Texas senator. Proud of you telling Mitch McConnell off, and so grandly! Proud of your stand against amnesty. Proud of your stand against the education boondoggle Common Core. Proud of your stand against bad trade deals. Proud of you being an outsider. Proud of what you'd made of yourself. Proud of your beautiful wife and daughters. Proud of your morals and your Christian life.
You were quite a guy and you were my candidate. I had such confidence in you. You and me, Ted. We were going to Reignite the Dream! We were going to take America back!
WHERE REALITY SHATTERED ILLUSION
The first thing I heard, and verified, was your wife, Heidi, being involved as an executive with Goldman Sachs. Well, so maybe not all Goldman Sachs execs are “bad globalists”? I mean, she's so pretty and she looks so nice on your arm.
Next I heard of her five year stint with the Council on Foreign Relations. It was here, at the CFR, where she conjoined with 30 others to draft the dreadful North American Union (Building a North American Community), intended to join Canada, Mexico, and the United States in a blissful EU-like union. The five year work was released in 2005. Do you understand, Ted, that the NAU wrecks US sovereignty? You're a constitutional lawyer. Didn't you tell her?
Ted the Outsider? First, you are an elected senator from Texas. There are only ONE HUNDRED SENATORS in the entire country, Ted. It's a very exclusive “Insiders” group. I mean, 100 people out of 330,000,000?
Where did you and Heidi meet, Ted? Wasn't it in the 2000 “Elect Bush (43)” campaign? Weren't all Bush's advisers “Insiders”, Ted? Including you? And maybe even that new Harvard grad, Heidi?
You worked inside that Bush (43) administration. First you were a legal policy adviser in the campaign. Then you spent 6 months as an associate Deputy Attorney General at the DOJ. Then you served from July 2001 to January 2003 in the Federal Trade Commission as Director of the Office of Policy Planning.
Were you one of the select attorneys who advised Bush on how to amass more and more power to the Executive Branch? Bush did that, you know. [Here] and [Here]. He had a notorious and rapacious thirst for power and set just a fine table for Obama. Did you help him, Ted? Insiders did.
Your career was stalling in DC, Ted, so you moved back to Texas. Then-Attorney General Greg Abbott (now governor) appointed you Texas Solicitor General and you served Texas well from 2003 to 2008. Still claim you're an Outsider, Ted?
Not really noted anywhere in your campaign biography is what you were doing from 2008 to 2012 before you launched your successful bid to become the junior senator from Texas. In those years you were a private litigator and a partner in the Houston, Texas office of Philadelphia's law firm Morgan Lewis and Bockius. The clients were often very large corporations.
Litigating for this private company you defended very large punitive settlements (in the range of $50,000,000) that ultimately “settled” without ever going to court. But in Texas – and in your campaign to become senator - you defended the 2003 Texas business-friendly tort reform that capped damages at $750,000. That's only 1/66 of the settlements you vigorously defended at Morgan, Lewis and Bockius. How do you square that, Ted?
And the ABA Journal says this about that Texas $750,000 figure: “In cases with multiple defendants, the cap is set at $250,000 for non economic damages against all physicians, and $250,000 against one hospital or $500,000 against two or more hospitals for a total of $750,000. But plaintiffs lawyers say that is so unlikely as to be unrealistic, and the $250,000 cap is their reality.”
In 2011 in private practice, you made $1,570,000 (less in 2012 because you were campaigning). Quite a switch from your current senatorial paycheck. (Isn't that around $174,000 for a whole year, Ted? And Heidi's on unpaid leave?)
Outsider or Insider? Which is your wife, Heidi? In 1995 she received her Master of European Business degree from Solvay Business School in Brussels, Belgium, site of several notable EU organizations. Interesting it was a European business degree.
In 2000 she received her MBA from Harvard. So Heidi was Solvay and Harvard and you were Princeton and Harvard. That sure looks a lot like Ivy League top tier Insiders.
In 2000, Heidi Nelson worked as an economic policy director on the Bush campaign, where she met you, also a Bush campaign adviser. Following her marriage to you in May 2001, she went on to work for the Bush Administration. She began as a top deputy to Bush's U.S. Trade Representive Robert Zoellick, well known for his ties to the World Bank, GATT, and Goldman Sachs. Her focus was economic policy. She also worked as director of the Latin America desk at the Department of Treasury in 2002.
In 2003, Heidi Cruz reported directly to National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice. Heidi became Director for the Western Hemisphere on the National Security Council where she served under Rice.
About a year after you opted for Austin Texas, Heidi left her very successful position in DC and took a job with Merrill Lynch in Houston, returning to her investment background, but still 160 miles away from you in Austin.
In 2005, Goldman Sachs hired her away from Merrill Lynch and in 2012, just after you won the senator race in Texas, Goldman Sachs named Heidi (along with some 260 others globally) as a managing director, beginning January 2013. She has since taken an unpaid leave from Goldman Sachs to promote your candidacy.
In no way can this beautiful, talented, and accomplished woman be called an Outsider, Ted.
Citizenship: Another big issue, Ted, no matter that you dismiss it, is your citizenship -- or lack thereof. You claim to be an “Originalist” as regards the Constitution, that it should be interpreted as meant when written back then (like the late Justice Scalia whom you praise).
Laurence Tribe, who taught you at Harvard Law School, has come out against your eligibility because at the time of the writing of the Constitution he states that “natural born” meant physically born in this country and required your father to be a citizen of this country. (Mom didn't count until the mid-1800s.)
And in 2014 you officially renounced your Canadian citizenship... As Canada did not have dual citizenship when you were born in 1970, and you emigrated to the US at age 4, three years before Canada had dual citizenship, what citizenship does that leave you with, Ted?
And by the way, how did a Cuban Canadian get to be a US Senator in Texas? I know Texans can pack a lot under a Stetson, Ted, but that pushes the envelope, even for you.
Amnesty – Here's another yes-and-no issue for you. In 2013 you backed legalization of the illegal immigrants already here. It wasn't until Trump came blazing onto the scene last June that the border wall and deportation became okay with you.
Common Core – Ted? It's rotten to the Core, creates nationalized standards that will drop us even farther than our current 28th place globally in education. YIKES! I just found another U.S. ranking from 2013 that puts us at an unbelievable 36th place globally! Please note on this link that our Education Czar says it's not that our kids aren't keeping up with the pace. It's that the kids in other countries are gaining educational ground faster.... Huh?
You say you oppose Common Core, Ted, and will dismantle it should you become president. However, Anita Hoge has caught you out. She has exposed S. 306 which you are backing. This would effectively put Common Core in every school in the country. Read here. And here. Does nothing shame you, Ted? These are our kids!
(I wonder if you just thought you were too clever, Ted, or was it that you thought that we were just too stupid to notice? You know, Trump people, under educated...)
And Trade Deals, Ted... You were graduating from Princeton, headed to Harvard when (R) Bush 41 heavily backed NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement), lost the '92 election, and then (D) Clinton completed the push for NAFTA. Very One World.
Of course it is unlikely that Ivy League schools featured the anti-NAFTA crowd: Ross Perot, Pat Buchanan, Pat Choate or the Giant Sucking Sound of our jobs leaving the country. Globalists laughed at and derided snottily all of us who saw clearly the disaster on the horizon. I guess you were too busy studying to notice. If nothing else, the U.S. Sovereignty issues should have interested an up and coming Constitutional law student. How's your memory on that, Ted?
But even with NAFTA as an historical black beacon, you favored the similar TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership) trade deal. And even worse – especially for a Constitutional scholar – was/is the TPA (Trade Promotion Authority) which “fast tracks” the TPP.
Surely you must realize that fast tracking takes away the Constitutionally mandated congressional oversight and authority on such deals? How could you be good with that, Ted? -- No congressional participation in the negotiations; no congressional in-depth review of the articles of agreement; no congressional alterations or modifications of the agreement?
And no senate vote on what is a trade treaty? Is that all right with Senator Ted Cruz?
I also saw you as moral and abidingly Christian, more illusions shattered amidst your convenient lies, your overreaching Christian Dominionist Theocratic Old Testament One World views, your willingness to do whatever it takes to further your own ends.
You know, Ted, back in the day I thought your goals were my goals, I thought your vision was my vision, that your dream was my dream. Even last June when I knew I'd vote Trump I held out for you as VP – maybe 8 years of Trump and 8 years of Cruz... Almost a dream ticket... Back then.
Now I'd be appalled if Trump chose you for VP. And I'm fairly sure I don't want a closeted religious zealot, a Christian One Worlder, sitting on the Supreme Court either, no matter how talented he is in the two-faced Debate Master arena.
You've turned too many corners, Ted. God of course can take you back. But I think too many of us out here caught on to your games, your flip flops – see a list of 11 of them in Kelleigh Nelson's article -- your lies conveniently cloaked in schmoozing Sincerity, charismatic Christianity, and patronizing Patriotism.
It is sad to say “Good-Bye”, Ted. But Good-Bye it is. God be with you. And may God be gentle with your wife and kids. And do remember, Ted, what you said about party unity... back in 2012.
God Bless America and Donald Trump.

CHUCK BALDWIN CELEBRATES THE FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS "ECUMENICAL" BUT PATRIOTIC NON TAX EXEMPT CHURCH FELLOWSHIP

BIBLICAL SEPARATION APPARENTLY NOT BELIEVED OR PREACHED
"We will appeal to the fellowship to love the Brotherhood—and we will love those outside the Brotherhood as we have opportunity to do so."

A NOBLE CAUSE TAINTED WITH ECUMENISM

CHUCK BALDWIN QUOTE FROM WIKIPEDIA:
"Unfortunately, it has been the Christian Right's blind support for President Bush in particular and the Republican Party in general that has precipitated a glaring and perhaps fatal defect: the Christian Right cannot, or will not, honestly face the real danger confronting these United States. . . . On the whole, they fail to understand the issues that are critical to our nation's—and their own—survival. . . . Sadly, this is what the Christian Right just doesn't get: ninety percent of the time, it doesn't matter to a tinker's dam whether a Republican or Democrat wins the White House. . . . All the pro-life, pro-family, traditional-values, conservative talk is just that: talk. Republicans use conservative rhetoric the same way Democrats use liberal rhetoric. Neither party believes what they are telling their constituents. They merely say what constituents want to hear in order to get elected; after which, they set about to do what their elitist, globalist manipulators tell them to do."

"Happy Anniversary, Liberty Fellowship"

This Sunday, January 17, 2016, Liberty Fellowship in Kalispell, Montana, will mark its 5th Anniversary. Liberty Fellowship is an unorganized, unincorporated, and non-affiliated fellowship. And it is most definitely not a 501c3 non-profit organization--which means donations to Liberty Fellowship are NOT tax-deductible.

When my family and I first moved to Montana in October of 2010, to start this fellowship, we were told by “everyone” that such an endeavor was hopeless. I couldn’t count the number of preachers who told me that we would never make it, because Christian people simply would not support a fellowship (I refuse to use the word “church,” as the definition of the word in America is mostly defined solely by the IRS--and said definition is as unscriptural as it can possibly be) because their donations would not be tax-deductible. Very adamantly they said that a fellowship that was not tax-exempt could not financially survive.

Well folks, THIS SUNDAY is the 5th Anniversary of that non-tax-exempt fellowship. The critics and naysayers were wrong. I’m sure it’s true that in most “churches” the biggest reason people give is in order to receive a deduction on their income taxes at the end of the year. You don’t believe that? Just announce one Sunday that people's’ offerings will no longer be deductible on their tax forms at the end of the year and see how many people stick around. But that’s NOT the reason people give at Liberty Fellowship.

Gee! What did Christians do for over 1,900 years of Church history when they gave their tithes and offerings and there was no IRS around to recognize it? For that matter, what do Christians around the world do today who give their tithes and offerings without there even being any such thing as a 501c3 tax-exempt status? I guess they just give because they believe in the message coming from the pulpit and want to do what’s right in the sight of God. What a novel idea.

Then again, why do most Christians attend the “church” they attend? Along with receiving their precious tax-deductions: to socialize with friends; to make business contacts; to let their kids play in all of the spiritual babysitting services known as “children’s programs”; to listen to warm and fuzzy feel-good speeches called “sermons”; to salve their conscience for all of their crooked, dishonest business practices during the week; and to jump up and down during the rock concert that occupies the vast majority of time in these so-called “worship services.”

There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the vast majority of America’s pastors today are the Pied Pipers of serfdom--shouting “Hallelujah” and “Praise the Lord” as they tickle the ears of these materialistically-minded and pleasure-mad sheeple that call themselves “Christians”--until both the blind guides and gullible followers fall into the ditch of tyranny.

I bet the pastor where you go to church has not said one word publically about Obama’s unlawful Executive Order further restricting the right of the American people to sell and purchase firearms, and that turns your family physician into a snoop for the government who can have your guns removed from your home without even a smidgen of accountability. I bet he hasn’t said one word of counsel or clarification about the Oregon occupation. I bet you went to this “church” all year last year and never heard your pastor give a word of instruction regarding Natural and Biblical law regarding anything that took place in our country--with the possible meek mention of something to do with abortion or gay rights. No! I bet you didn’t even hear him say a word when the Supreme Court put its stamp of approval on homosexual marriage.

I realize that there are rare exceptions to the above; but they are just that: RARE.

Christian people will sit in front of a milquetoast preacher for thirty minutes on Sunday morning and hear NOTHING relevant to what’s happening in our country and then go home and watch FOX News for twenty-five hours a week (in between football games, of course). And if the pastor happens to inadvertently slip out a statement that contradicts what people heard on FOX News, they will deem the pastor a heretic. For all intents and purposes, in the minds of millions of professing “Christians,” FOX News is not a cable news network; it is a RELIGION. Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly are America’s pontiffs. Their word is gospel. No wonder we are screwed up.

The voices of the watchmen and shepherds are utterly silent. Christian people are lost in an echo chamber of political cacophony with no undergirding principles of truth to guide them. Truly, they are sheep having no shepherd. The Nineteenth Century British Baptist pastor Charles Spurgeon absolutely nailed it when he said, “A time will come when instead of shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats.” That day is here.

Five years ago this Sunday, we launched an experiment called Liberty Fellowship. No rock music; no smoke; no light show; no gymnasium; no “children’s pastor”; no “worship leader”; no game room; no espresso café; no social “ministries”; no finance committees; no “education” committees; no “church growth” committees; in fact, there are no committees period.

At Liberty Fellowship, adults and children sit and listen to a man of God preach the Word of God with a heavy dose of Natural Law and the Biblical principles of liberty woven throughout. Oh, yes, we have a song service, too. It might last 15-20 minutes--usually including a vocalist or duet singing a song. Oh, and I don’t think I’ve heard Kumbaya yet. And, no, we own no buildings and have no plans to go into debt to get one.

During the week, our people actively teach one another various practical skills. They are loving and considerate, as are their children. Many of our folks homeschool their children. Most of them have made a huge sacrifice to be here. When the service is over, the auditorium is NOT empty in five minutes. Fellowship among the people is sweet and genuine.

The average sermon at Liberty Fellowship probably lasts between an hour and fifteen minutes and an hour and a half (some are even longer)--and nobody gets restless. Can you imagine nine- and ten-year-old children (and often younger) sitting up and paying attention to their pastor deliver a 90-minute sermon in almost any “church” in America? Oh! And during the first five years of the fellowship’s existence, over 450 people have made a profession of faith in Christ--that we know of.

People have moved from all over the country just to attend Liberty Fellowship. And an online Internet audience nationwide, comprised of people who wish they had such a fellowship in the town where they live, continues to grow.

Last year, our Liberty Church Project reached out to scores of pastors and churches, helping them to either withdraw from the government’s 501c3 non-profit status or to start brand new non-501c3 fellowships. Many of these folks are still in the early stages of planting new fellowships and are meeting together in small groups in either living rooms or public buildings. They watch our livestream messages and fellowship around the Biblical, Natural Law principles of Liberty.

EXCERPT:
"Obviously, one will find various denominations and theological positions represented in this list. I am sure that I would not agree with some of the ministers on this list regarding various doctrines and methodology. I will leave it to each Christian to discern for himself the correctness, or lack thereof, of each ministry represented on this list. However, I rejoice over the efforts of any and all Christian ministers, regardless of denomination, who will courageously preach and promote the principles of liberty and independence. For the sake of this directory, we have added all those that requested to be included. As a disclaimer, I do not personally vouch for any of the ministries listed here."
