The latest report from the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC)
shows that not only did nearly two million more Americans obtain their
concealed carry permits in 2016 — a new record for the fourth year in a row —
but that brings the total to more than 16.3 million U.S. citizens with
permits. That’s up from 4.5 million just a decade ago, and means that,
on average, one in every 20 American citizens has a concealed carry
permit.
Most of the growth is taking place among women and minorities, partly
because of concerns about personal safety and partly because of the
paradigm shift in favor of the Second Amendment that has been taking
place in the United States. Said John Lott, the founder of CPRC and its
chief researcher, “It’s pretty much the most vulnerable people in our
society who benefit the most from having the option to be able to go and
protect themselves.”
The momentum is being helped along by courts’ rulings in favor of
freedom to carry, such as the recent federal appeals court ruling in
Washington, D.C. that overturned the city’s strict law requiring
residents applying for a permit to prove that they had “good reason” to
obtain one.
It’s also being given a push by John Stossel’s YouTube video
“NYC Government Traumatizes Gun Owners,” in which he describes the
horrific treatment law-abiding gun owners undergo when they unknowingly
violate one of the city’s strict gun laws.
And former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s determination to
slow the momentum favoring concealed carry is also actually helping
boost gun sales. He has promised to dump some $25 million into the 2018
political environment through his anti-gun group Everytown for Gun
Safety. The group is joined by Gabby Giffords’ group Americans for
Responsible Solutions, and will start “scoring” legislators based on how
they vote on gun and Second Amendment issues, much like the NRA has
been doing for years. Unfortunately for Bloomberg, an increasing number
of Americans are waking up to the fact that crime rates are declining as
private gun ownership is increasing, and to the fact the Bloomberg’s
anti-gun ideology and his political agenda threaten that private
ownership.
There’s another factor at work as well: national reciprocity. Just
last week that bill in the House received its 209th sponsor, putting the
issue just nine votes away from passage. Each issue supports the other:
as Americans exercise their freedom to defend themselves, they like the
idea that a license in one state may be good in all states. Just two
weeks ago, for example, West Virginia and Wisconsin agreed to recognize
each other’s concealed-carry handgun permits, bringing to 34 the number
of states with reciprocity agreements.
With increasing freedom to carry comes pressure to allow that freedom
in every state. With that freedom, more citizens will likely take
advantage, applying for their own concealed carry permits. One hand
washes the other, and there’s little that Bloomberg and his money can do
to slow the momentum.

(2:256), but what constitutes “compulsion” is in the eye of the
beholder. The institutionalized subjugation of the dhimma, with its
regular humiliation and harassment, from which one can be freed for the
simple price of converting to Islam, is not considered compulsion.
Remember Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig, the journalists who were kidnapped and forced to convert to Islam

Three Kenyan Christians were hacked to death by
Al-Shabaab militants on Friday night (18 August) after they refused to
recite the Islamic prayer of faith. A fourth Christian – the mentally
challenged older brother of one of the three – was also killed.
At around 9pm, Changawa Muthemba, who was in his forties, was dragged
out of his home in Kasala Kairu, Lamu County, by a group of armed men
and taken to the nearby home of his brother-in-law, Joseph Kasena, 42,
where a 17-year-old neighbour, Kadenge Katana, also happened to be at
the time.
The three men were held at machete point and ordered to recite the Shahada.

Joseph’s wife, Caroline, who is in her late thirties, watched
everything happen and is “severely traumatised”, according to a local
source. Their 17-year-old daughter, Zawadi, was out of town at the

According to the source, Al-Shabaab militants and their sympathisers
are “deeply embedded” in the local communities of wider Lamu and Tana,
which are in coastal Kenya, near the border with Somalia where
Al-Shabaab originated.
“They move around freely and often are at odds with the Kenyan
farmers, deliberately sending their animals to feed on their crops,” the
source said. “Locals complain that the police are not doing anything
about the situation and even show preferential treatment to the herders.
Earlier that day, some locals met with the Somali herdsmen, who
threatened them. But this was not the reason for the attack; it only
provided the opportunity for it. Al-Shabaab knew these men as

A PROMINENT Labour MP and key ally of Jeremy Corbyn
shared a social media message telling victims of sickening sex abuse to
shut up for “the good of diversity.”
Labour MP, Naz Shah, retweeted and liked the post from “an account
parodying left-wing writer Owen Jones which said: ‘Those abused girls in
Rotherham and elsewhere just need to shut their mouths. For the good of
diversity.’” After the firestorm began, she later deleted the retweet
and unliked the post. Shah has been a “key figure” in trying to stifle
reporting about the grooming gang sex scandal.
Equality and Human Rights Commission chief executive Rebecca Hilsenrath stated:
We need to keep the victims of these horrific crimes at
the heart of the debate and always remember that diversity is not served
by silence.
One would expect better from Labour MP Naz Shah, who suffered a
traumatic childhood, including being victimized under oppressive sharia
norms. She was forced into an abusive marriage at the tender age of 15. The Guardian
once asked about Shah, given her history: “Who, then, could be better
qualified than Shah to talk about integration?” Yet Shah is the same
woman retweeting that the victims of Muslim rape gangs should shut their
mouths “for the good of diversity.”
Many of those working in the diversity industry in the UK — and also
at large in the West — have become accomplices in the Islamic
supremacist victimization of innocent people. Islamic supremacism
proclaims Muslim superiority over infidels and male superiority over
women, and the term “Islamophobia” is wielded as a weapon to shut down
justifiable scrutiny.
The ignoring of the crimes of Islamic supremacists has become

Naz Shah retweeted and liked a post on Twitter by an account

Her actions have reignited the furious row over Pakistani sex gangs which last week saw Labour MP Sarah Champion hounded out of Labour’s front benches for writing an article in The Sun addressing the issue.
Ms Shah, who later deleted the retweet and unliked the post, was a
key figure in leading the furore against a column written by The Sun’s
Trevor Kavanagh about the grooming sex scandal last week.
Equality and Human Rights Commission chief executive Rebecca Hilsenrath immediately condemned the Labour MP last night.
She said: “Ms Shah should know better.
“We need to keep the victims of these horrific crimes at the heart of
the debate and always remember that diversity is not served by
silence.”
The British-born Muslim MP, 43, who was once a key aide to Shadow
Chancellor John McDonnell, accused Mr Kavanagh of using “Nazi-like
terminology”.
She organised an open letter to The Sun signed by 107 MPs demanding action.
Ms Shah, who served on the influential House of Commons Home Affairs
Committee, wrote The Sun’s piece was “irresponsible” and that it set “a
dangerous precedent.”
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn praised her for the letter on his Facebook page.

ROCKLIN, Calif. — A number of parents in Rocklin,
California say that they feel betrayed after a kindergarten teacher
recently read two transgender-themed books to students without their
prior knowledge.
“My daughter came home crying and shaking, so afraid she could turn
into a boy,” one parent stated during a packed board meeting for Rocklin
Academy on Monday.
According to reports, the teacher, who has not been publicly
identified, read the books “I Am Jazz” and “The Red Crayon” on the
second-to-last day of school before summer break. The first book is
about teen reality show star Jazz Jennings—a teenage boy who identifies
as a girl, and the second tells the story of a blue crayon who was
mislabeled red.
No advance notice or opt-out information was provided to parents.
Therefore, when students came home and advised that they had learned
about gender identity, with some confused about whether they could
transition to the opposite gender, a number of parents contacted the
school to express concern.
Principal Jillayne Antoon issued a letter
a week later to advise what had transpired in the classroom. She
outlined that a student had asked the teacher to read “I Am Jazz” to the
class. According to reports, a student who was born a boy but
identifies as a girl gifted the books to the teacher. It is not clear if
the student who donated the books was the same kindergartener that
requested that the Jazz book be read aloud.
“Please be assured that these books are age appropriate children’s
books, geared for ages 4-8,” Antoon wrote to parents. “There were no
additional discussions with the class about any topic in relation to
these books.”
However, according to CBS News, parents say that the male student
changed his clothes at some point during the class and presented himself
as a girl.
“I want [my daughter] to hear from me, as a parent, what her gender
identity means to her and our family—not from a book that may be
controversial,” one parent said on Monday during the board meeting in
expressing objection.
However, the teacher defended her decision to read the books to the class.
“I’m so proud of my students,” she said. “It was never my intent to
harm any students but to help them through a difficult situation.”
The district also took the position that if the books were not read,
it could have placed officials at risk of a discrimination lawsuit.
Fox40 News further notes that Superintendent Robin Stout said that
the teacher was not required to provide advance notice to parents
because the books are not considered sexual education material.
However, due to the concerns of parents, and the fact that the
teacher did not seek prior approval from administrators before reading
the book to the class, the district has changed its policy to require
teachers to ask for permission first.
“If a book is not part of our curriculum, such as these books, [we
ask] that they’d consult with administration,” Stout outlined.
As previously reported, in 1828, just 52 years after the nation’s
founding, Noah Webster, known as the Father of American Scholarship and
Education, wrote, “In my view, the Christian religion is the most
important and one of the first things in which all children, under a
free government, ought to be instructed. … No truth is more evident to
my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any
government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free
people.”

A transgender student revealed her true gender during a controversial sex ed session in a kindergarten class.
Parents outraged
over the incident, which included a teacher reading transgender books
to the class, flooded a school board meeting in Rocklin, California,
which is just outside Sacramento.
"My daughter came home crying and shaking so afraid she could turn into a boy," one parent said.
The
parents were particularly outraged that transgender training was left
off the curriculum, but interestingly enough the school board claimed
topics concerning transgenders don’t require prior parent approval.
"It's
really about the parents being informed and involved and giving us the
choice and rights of what's being introduced to our kids, and at what
age," said another parent.
The books read to the class included “I am Jazz,” described
as “the story of a transgender child based on the real-life experience
of Jazz Jennings, who has become a spokesperson for transkids
everywhere.”
The incident shouldn’t be shocking to long-term readers of infowars.com.
As we reported in 2009, a UN report on ‘International Guidelines on Sexuality Education’ proposes desensitizing children as young as five to the concepts of masturbation and having an abortion.
And we also reported on a preschool teaching kids the terms “innersex” and “genderqueer.”
But none of this is accidential. In fact, the 1932 novel Brave New World revealed how the elites envisioned sexualizing young children over the coming decades.

students. However, some parents have hit out at the teacher’s
decision to talk about gender identity to their children sparking a
meeting of the school board. It comes after parents claim that their
children came home confused and upset by the books that the teacher
read. Parents say besides the books, the transgender student at some
point during class also changed clothes and was revealed as her true
gender. And many parents say they feel betrayed and blindsided.
One

A
kindergarten teacher in Sacramento, California staged a “transition
ceremony” for a five-year-old boy who was curious about being a girl.
The ceremony to make the child transgender was kept from parents of
children in the class, who were left confused and scared that they would
change genders as well.
The incident occurred at Rocklin Academy
in Sacramento just before the summer break. An unidentified teacher
staged the ceremony after learning a five-year-old boy in her class
wanted to “identify” as a girl. After giving the children a lesson on
transgenderism, the teacher allowed the boy to leave class and re-enter
dressed as a girl. The teacher reintroduced the student as a girl with a
new name, and instructed classmates to refer to him by his new name and
gender.
The principal and superintendent insist the school did
not have to inform parents of what happened, and claimed that according
to California law, they could be sued if they did not acknowledge and
accommodate the child’s transgender status.
Now, the ones looking
to legal action are the parents who were not informed of what their
children would be subjected to. Several of the young girls told their
parents that they were afraid they were going to turn into boys.
LifeSiteNews reported on the incident, which included reading books about children transitioning.
Parents
only found out what happened from their kids, says Jonathan Keller of
the California Family Council, a Focus on the Family-founded group
that’s advising parents.
During the lesson on the second-to-last day
before summer break, the teacher read two books, “I am Jazz” and “The
Red Crayon,” that purport to explain “transgenderism” to children aged
four to eight, Fox40News reported.
“I am Jazz” is particularly
explicit, beginning “From the time she was two years old, Jazz knew that
she had a girl’s brain in a boy’s body.”
That left a number of kids “really deeply emotionally bothered and traumatized,” Keller said.
“There
were several of the little girls that went to their parents and were
crying and saying, ‘mommy or daddy, am I going to turn into a
boy?’”California state law not only protects gender identity expression,
parents do not have to be told if their child is subjected to it.

District Superintendent Robin Stout
told Fox40News that parents were not notified because kids can’t opt out
of gender identity and expression lessons.
The school board also
held a special session on the matter on July 31, which included a
presentation on California law by Young, Minney & Corr law firm that
echoed Stout’s assertions. According to that presentation, since January 2016, state law allows parents to only opt their children out of sex education. “Diversity and tolerance curricula are not ‘sex education,’” it emphasized. “California
law explicitly provides that ‘instruction or materials that discuss
gender, sexual orientation, or family life and do not discuss human
reproductive organs and their functions’ are not subject to the parental
notice and opt-out laws.’”
Moreover, a student has the “right to
self-identify” and “a right to the use of his or her preferred pronoun
at school and in class.”
To not comply intentionally with this is
“considered gender identity harassment,” the law firm asserted.It is not
clear if the “girl” is returning for the new school year and still
identifies as a girl.

Parents of kindergartners at the Rocklin Academy School in Rocklin,
California were infuriated to learn that their children’s teacher
introduced the impressionable young minds to the subject of
transgenderism. Parents have reported that their children were
traumatized by a lesson on transgenderism that culminated with a
transgender child changing his clothes to match those of his so-called
true gender.
Though the incident took place during the last few days of the
academic school year just before the start of summer, parents did not
have an opportunity to express their dismay over the lesson until an
August 21 school board meeting, wherein parents spoke out against the
teacher’s actions, MSN reports.
"These parents feel betrayed by the school district that they were
not notified," said Karen England with the Capitol Resource Institute.
"The kindergartners came home very confused, about whether or not you
can pick your gender, whether or not they really were a boy or a girl,"
said England.
The controversial school lesson included two books about transgenderism entitled I am Jazz and The Red Crayon.
At the end of the lesson, a student in the class who identifies as
transgender changed his clothing to ones that matched the gender with
which he identifies. The teacher then told the students that the
five-year-old student is now a “girl” who has a girl’s name by which the
student should be addressed.
One parent angrily denounced the scene as a sort of “transition ceremony” for the child.
“There were several of the little girls that went to their parents
and were crying and saying, ‘mommy or daddy, am I going to turn into a
boy?’” explains Jonathan Keller of the California Family Council. Keller indicates that he learned from one parent that her son, who
had never given “gender” a thought before the lesson, is now asking if
he can come to school dressed as a girl.
Other parents say their children were traumatized by what they witnessed. “My daughter came home crying and shaking so afraid she could turn into a boy,” said one parent.
According to the parents at Monday’s board meeting, the biggest issue
of all was the school’s failure to communicate to the parents that this
particular lesson plan was going to take place.
“It's really about the parents being informed and involved and giving
us the choice and rights of what's being introduced to our kids, and at
what age,” said parent Chelsea McQuistan.
“I want her to hear from me as a parent what her gender identity
means to her and our family, not from a book that may be controversial,”
another parent said.
But the district’s response to the parents ire has been
unsatisfactory at best, defending the books used in the classroom as
“age-appropriate” and noting that they “fell within their literature
selection policy.” Furthermore, the topic of gender identity does not
fall under the umbrella of sex education, according to the district, and
therefore does not require prior parental notice. Since January 2016, California state law allows parents to only opt
their children out of sex education, not lessons involving gender
identity and expression. During a special session on the subject that
took place on July 31, Young, Minney & Corr law firm held a
presentation in which it outlined the law, LifeSite News reports. “Diversity and tolerance curricula are not ‘sex education,’” the presentation indicated.
It seems that California has forgotten that these are kindergartners
who have no business learning either sex education or gender confusion,
or anything other than how to tie their shoelaces, read, and write their
own names. Their curriculum is packed enough without rogue teachers
choosing to ram in their own political agenda items.
LifeSite News reports that the California Family Council is now
considering pushing for state legislation that protects parental rights.
But while the kindergarten teacher’s lesson plan may have not have
violated California state law, it certainly poses a risk to the mental
health of the students on which it was imposed. According to Michelle Cretella, president of the American College of
Pediatricians, “institutions that promote transition affirmation” are
guilty of “nothing less than institutionalized child abuse” with the
potential for causing “untold psychological damage.”
“All children should be told the truth that sex does not ever change
and cannot be changed,” Cretella told LifeSiteNews in an e-mail.
“All children should be nurtured to embrace their bodies and the
reality of their biological sex. All children should be affirmed as the
unique boys or girls their bodies proclaim them to be.”
Sadly, California and the Left as a whole seem to be more interested
in advancing a social justice agenda that includes normalizing
transgenderism.
The parents at Monday’s meeting did get a small concession, however,
as the district superintendent did say that school staff will engage in
discussion with parents in the future if materials that fall outside of
the school curriculum are to be brought into the classroom.
But Keller says that some parents have decided to pull their children from the school.
