MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The governor of Alabama and a female staffer are no longer members of the First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa following the release of audio footage in which the governor engaged in sexually-charged talk with the woman that suggested they had been physical with each other.
While it is unknown exactly when the church fellowship was ended or under what circumstances, Senior Pastor Gil McKee told Christian News Network on Friday, “While church discipline is a church family matter, both Governor Robert Bentley and Mrs. Rebekah Mason are no longer members of First Baptist Church Tuscaloosa.”
“I continue to pray for each of them,” he added.
Bentley held a news conference earlier this week where he admitted to making “inappropriate comments” to Senior Political Adviser Rebekah Caldwell Mason, who is married with three children, but denied that he had been involved in a physical relationship with the staffer. Audio footage of one of the telephone discussions suggests otherwise.
“I love you. I love to talk to you,” the governor says to Mason. “Baby, let me tell you what we’re going to have to start doing, we’re going to have to start locking the door. If we are going to do what we did the other day, we are going to have to start locking the door.”

The audio had been recorded by Dianne Bentley, the governor’s former wife, who divorced him last year after capturing Bentley speaking in such manner on the phone with Mason. She had suspected an affair and left her telephone recording in the room so she could hear his conversations with the staffer.
“I made a mistake,” Bentley said during a press conference on Wednesday. “Two years ago I made a mistake. … I have apologized many times to my family. I have apologized to the family of Mrs. Mason. I would now like to apologize to the people of Alabama. I ask them to forgive me.”
“I’ve been told about the possibility of tapes for two years,” he stated.
One reporter asked Bentley if he was in love with Mason, to which he replied, “I love many members of my staff, in fact, all the members of my staff. Do I love some more than others? Absolutely.”
When asked if Mason had ever asked him to cease his remarks, he said no, but also asserted that there was “no sexual activity.” Former Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Director Spencer Collier doesn’t believe Bentley, and has accused him of using state resources in having an affair. Mason has accused Collier of “gender bias.”
State Auditor Jim Zeigler has now filed a report with the Alabama Ethics Commission, which will conduct a formal investigation into the matter.
“The governor continues to disgrace the state of Alabama, and in my official capacity as state auditor, I am required to report these suspected violations,” he told reporters. “It is clear that he is misleading the people of the state about the nature of his relationship, but it is also clear that Ms. Mason is required to either be classified as a public official, or file as a lobbyist, in her capacity as an adviser who is paid by an outside source.”
As Bentley made his remarks on Wednesday, he stood at a podium with a plaque that read, “May the person speaking here be ever mindful of the oath they have taken to serve God and his people with honor and integrity.”
He has refused to resign despite calls for him to step down in light of the revelations.
Bentley had at one time been a Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, as well as a deacon. As previously reported, his pastor was at odds with him last year after he asserted that he would follow a court ruling on same-sex “marriage” despite his personal beliefs against it.
“My encouragement to him two weeks ago was to not only get on board with Judge [Roy] Moore, but to instruct him as our governor to tell our probate judges not to abide by this one federal judge,” McKee told Christian News Network last February. “And obviously he had not taken that counsel at that time from me or anybody else.”
The Brussels attack will prove to be a bonanza for the police state and its TSA sexual molesters.
Following the attack Infowars reported on a predictable move—already planned, but waiting for the appropriate incident—to expand airport “security” beyond airport departure gates to the street outside the airport itself.

Serial molesters in nifty blue uniforms with authoritative TSA badges will stick their hands down your pants, feel up your breasts, and traumatize your children—all in the name of preventing terror attacks engineered by intelligence agencies and committed by brainwashed patsies and mental deficients who read an ISIS tweet or a Facebook post.
It is hardly a secret the TSA and the Department of Homeland Security want to expand Gestapo activity beyond airports—to sports stadiums, concert venues and the local mall. They announced this goal years ago and have already imposed TSA “procedures” at rail and train stations and conduct high visibility state security theater events during the Super Bowl.
With every terror event the police and surveillance state creeps forward. Ultimately, like Nazi Germany and Stalin’s nation-wide gulag, the panopticon police state will reach into every facet of American life, as it did in East Germany under the Stasi. The prevalence of electronic communication has made the effort seamless and difficult to avoid.
We are one major event away from a total and complete police state. For now, however, the state will be satisfied with incremental destruction of our liberty and the eradication of our privacy and dignity.
Border agents have confirmed what many Americans have known for a long time: The Obama administration has “no intention” of deporting illegal aliens and enforcing this country’s immigration laws.
According to congressional testimony by Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, a top official at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has instructed Border Patrol agents to release illegal immigrants caught attempting to sneak into the country so as not to clutter the courts.
Judd said that the orders are the administration’s new “catch-and-release” policy,” which he observes “amounts to amnesty,” as the illegal immigrants are not even being issued a Notice to Appear (NTA), which is what begins deportation proceedings.
Judd told the House Judiciary Committee on Monday that this is the policy even in some criminal cases.
Judd also advised the committee that Border Patrol agents took their concerns over the policy to Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who told them that the Border Patrol has more important areas on which to focus. "Deputy Secretary Mayorkas told us that the Border Patrol needs to focus its resources towards the worst of the worst. He said that by prioritizing those we choose to deport, we will help alleviate the burden on an already overburdened court system," Judd recalled.
"He further stated, 'Why would we NTA those we have no intention of deporting?' adding, 'We should not place someone in deportation proceedings, when the courts already have a 3-6 year backlog,'" Judd continued.
Judd told the committee, "Since the day of this meeting [with Mayorkas], we have seen no improvements in our enforcement efforts and the morale of the Border Patrol agents is one of, if not the lowest, in the entire federal government."
Judd added in his written testimony that agents have also been told not to interview illegal immigrant children who continue to cross the border. "This is verbal direction from direct supervisors and not a written policy. Agents are being told not to ask why minors are crossing," he wrote.
Judd gave similar testimony on the Obama administration’s catch-and-release policy before Congress last month, when he spoke on the border surge of immigrant minors. "The willful failure to show up for court appearances by persons that were arrested and released by the Border Patrol has become an extreme embarrassment for the Department of Homeland Security. It has been so embarrassing that DHS and the U.S. attorney's office has come up with a new policy," he testified before the immigration subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee.
Judd also addressed the Obama administration’s so-called deportation priorities — those who arrived after December 31, 2013 — stating that the administration’s policy does “not require the person to prove they have been here [since January of 2014] … it simply requires them to claim to have been here since January of 2014.”
Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte said Judd’s written testimony ultimately disproves any of President Obama’s claims that his administration is enforcing immigration laws. "Not only has President Obama sought to undermine our immigration laws at every opportunity possible, now his political appointees have implemented a 'catch and release' policy that contradicts the administration's already weak enforcement priorities," asserted Goodlatte. "Rather than take the steps necessary to end the border surge, the Obama Administration is encouraging more to come by forcing Border Patrol agents to release unlawful immigrants into the United States with no intention of ever removing them."
Judd has been fiercely critical of this administration’s immigration policy, asserting, “We might as well abolish our immigration laws altogether. Immigration laws today appear to be mere suggestions."
According to immigration expert Jessica Vaughan, policy director for the Center for Immigration Studies, such lax immigration laws have resulted in increased crime in the United States as an influx of “foot soldiers from Central America" have entered the United States “to help colonize new criminal territory.”
Vaughan told the House Judiciary Committee’s Immigration and Border Security subcommittee last month, "The tide of new young people, many of whom have already been exposed or involved in street gangs at home, has provided a huge pool of new recruits for the gangs here. Gangs such as MS-13 and 18th Street are enjoying a brutal revival in certain parts of the country and are establishing themselves in new places."
“All of us together, Muslims, Hindus, Catholics, Copts, Evangelical [Protestants] brothers and sisters — children of the same God — we want to live in peace, integrated,” said Francis.

Pope Francis washed and kissed the feet of Muslim, Christian and Hindu refugees Thursday and declared them all children of the same God, as he performed a gesture of welcome and brotherhood at a time of increased anti-Muslim sentiment following the Brussels attacks.

Apparently if we’re all “children of the same God,” we’re racist, bigoted and Islamophobic to be concerned about jihad terror committed by Muslim migrants, and certainly have placed ourselves beyond the pale of the Catholic Church, which apparently would prefer the West to commit suicide rather than defend itself.
The Pope has washed the feet of Muslims before. What does he mean by it? If he means simply to imitate Christ’s action of extreme humility at the Last Supper, and to demonstrate that no one is beyond the pale of God’s mercy, no Christian could object to that. However, coming at a time when Muslim persecution of Christians is escalating worldwide, and when there is very serious concern about the Catholic Church’s apparent determination to accommodate Islamic supremacism at all costs, and not speak up for the persecuted Christians, this foot-washing can unfortunately be interpreted as meaning that the Church is surrendering and bowing down to its new Islamic overlords. As Christians in the Middle East are being slaughtered on a massive scale by Muslims, this looks more like surrender and submission than charity.
If the Pope really meant by washing these Muslims’ feet that Catholics and Christians in general should not defend themselves and their loved ones and their homelands against the global jihad and Islamic supremacism, then his gesture is not only lamentable, but in contradiction to centuries of Church teaching about the right and even the duty of defending oneself. It is also worth noting, if any of the Muslims whose feet he washed were women, that if the Pope had dared to touch and kiss a Muslim woman’s feet in Saudi Arabia or Iran, he would have been immediately killed.
Above all, his act of humility would not have been received in the spirit in which it was intended. Among all too many Muslims worldwide it will be seen as his, and the Church’s weakness. Nor will it be reciprocated by any Muslim authority, in any way, shape or form.
As for being “children of the same God,” what would Pope Francis make of these Qur’an verses, were he to know about them (as he almost certainly does not):
Christians have forgotten part of the divine revelations they received: “From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.” — Qur’an 5:14
Jesus is not the Son of God: “O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not “Three” – Cease! (it is) better for you! – Allah is only One Allah. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.” — Qur’an 4:171
“It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.” — Qur’an 19:35
Those who believe that Jesus is God’s Son are accursed: “The Jews call ‘Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! ” — Qur’an 9:30
Jesus was not crucified: “And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah’s messenger – they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.” — Qur’an 4:157
Muslims must wage war against and subjugate Christians: “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, of the People of the Book, until they pay the jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” — Qur’an 9:29
And there’s the Pope now, helpfully feeling himself subdued.

They came from Mali, Eritrea, Syria and Pakistan. They were Muslim, Hindu, Catholic and Coptic Christians. And one by one, Pope Francis knelt down before these migrants on Holy Thursday and washed their feet.
The ritual, performed in a center for asylum seekers outside of Rome, comes amid anti-immigrant sentiment in Europe and in the wake of a terrorist attack in Brussels, for which the Islamic State has claimed responsibility.
“All of us together, Muslims, Hindus, Catholics, Copts, Evangelical [Protestants] brothers and sisters – children of the same God – we want to live in peace, integrated,” Francis said during his homily.
What? What about Jews? Buddhists? They’re not children of the same God?
The foot-washing ritual became a part of Holy Thursday Mass in the 1950s. Jesus washed the feet of his 12 apostles at the Last Supper. The symbolic act also imitates Jesus’s gesture of servitude.
A number of the migrants whose feet were washed by the pope had tears streaming down their faces.
Shortly after Francis became pope in 2013, he washed the feet of Muslims.
A massive crowd didn’t turn out to participate in the ceremony or listen to the pope’s homily on Thursday, though. From the Associated Press:
Francis was greeted with a banner reading “Welcome” in a variety of languages as he walked down a makeshift aisle to celebrate the Mass. But only a fraction of the 892 asylum-seekers living at the shelter attended, and many of the seats were left empty. Those who came out, though, received a personal greeting: At the end of the Mass, Francis greeted each refugee, one by one, posing for selfies and accepting notes as he moved down the rows.
Francis condemned the attack in Brussels and those behind such violence. “There are manufacturers, arms dealers who want blood, not peace; they want the war, not fraternity,” the pope said.
“You, we, all of us together, of different religions, different cultures, but children of the same Father, brothers – and there, those poor people, who buy weapons to wreck fraternity,” Francis said Thursday. “Today, at this time, when I do the same act of Jesus washing the feet of twelve of you, let us all make a gesture of brotherhood, and let us all say: ‘We are different, we are different, we have different cultures and religions, but we are brothers and we want to live in peace.'”
The Vatican said eight men and four women took part in the ritual, AP reported, including: an Italian Catholic; three Eritrean Coptic Christians; four Catholics from Nigeria; three Muslims from Mali, Syria and Pakistan; and a Hindu man from India….

The Obama visit to Communist Cuba infuriated and dismayed victims of government oppression around the world while encouraging the violent extremism of bloodthirsty dictatorships everywhere — but maybe that was the point. In a pathetic spectacle, Obama appeared to be groveling before the mass-murdering regime that once pointed nuclear missiles at the American people and continues to export terrorism and tyranny worldwide. Obama praised the autocracy enslaving Cuba, too, and even parroted dictator Raul Castro's lies and his communist distortion of the concept of rights.
All the while, political prisoners opposed to the savage tyranny languished in Castro's prisons, wondering why the supposed leader of the “free world” would be legitimizing the barbarism of their tormentors and persecutors. Others tried their best to flee to the United States as refugees from the oppression in record numbers, even as Castro urged his Latin American allies to make that more difficult.
“Here in Cuba nothing has changed,” explained Berta Soler, a member of the opposition group Ladies in White, shortly before she was arrested by Castro's thugs ahead of Obama's visit. “The Cuban government keeps trying to stop us, to demonize us, and we all live in fear.” Hundreds of dissidents, maybe more, were rounded up and beaten by Castro's thugs in the weeks before Obama arrived to legitimize the brutal autocracy and demonize the United States.
More than a few critics of the charade wondered about the reason for Obama's seemingly bizarre decision to coddle and defend one of the world's most brutal dictators. But it all makes sense when Obama's extremist background is considered — especially his decades of close associations with communists, which included launching his political career in the home of Castro-backed communist terrorist Bill Ayers. The terror group he founded, the Weather Underground, received financing, guidance, and support from Havana while it was murdering American police officers and bombing U.S. targets. It also planned to exterminate millions of American “counter-revolutionaries” after seizing power, according to the FBI agent who infiltrated the organization.
In his speech this week from Havana, Obama thanked “President” Castro — yes, the military dictator is now apparently the “president,” despite being appointed by his bloodthirsty brother Fidel. Obama also said that it was “an extraordinary honor to be here today,” as if he was in the presence of some sort of hero rather than a brutal tin-pot dictator with massive amounts of innocent blood on his hands, including the blood of many U.S. citizens and even children.
Almost incredibly, Obama celebrated the dictator's “commitment to Cuba’s sovereignty and self-determination.” The people of Cuba have no sovereignty or self-determination, of course, just a ruthless tyrant whose goons machine gun rafts full of women and children as the tyrant's victims risk their lives for a chance to flee the prison island for the freer shores of Florida.
In an extraordinarily revealing remark about the administration's extremist vision on education, Obama also praised the Castro regime's indoctrination system used, only semi-successfully, to brainwash innocent children into accepting their slavery. “Cuba has an extraordinary resource — a system of education which values every boy and every girl,” claimed the man whose administration foisted national “Common Core” standards on American states using federal bribe money. The outlandish remark was then tweeted out by top Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, who, like Obama, comes from a background filled with anti-American communists long under investigation by U.S. authorities. Critics promptly ridiculed the Orwellian remark, but the damage was done — the Obama administration had officially made a complete and utter fool of itself while defending, even touting, communist brainwashing.
Just weeks earlier, though, top D.C. officials also visited the brutal regime to seek help and ideas from Castro's alleged “education successes.” The D.C. government presides over a “school” system that has produced a population that is two thirds functionally illiterate, according to a State Education Agency report. But rather than looking for real answers, the D.C. leadership came back from Castro's slave empire with glowing reports about “high-quality teaching” and other absurdities.
Obama also bragged about how his agenda was “helping” the Cuban people, without ever mentioning that the real beneficiary would be the regime enslaving those people, which owns virtually the entire economy. He also promised more help for Cuba's slave master Castro. “We've begun initiatives to cooperate on health and agriculture, education and law enforcement,” Obama said, as if helping a communist dictator on “law enforcement” were a positive development. “I have come to bury the last remnant of the cold war in the Americas.... It is time for us to look forward to the future together.”
After serving as an apologist for the Cuban dictator, even Obama's phony praise for the United States was a boon for Castro's propaganda. Obama made a reference to the United States being founded on the “rights of the individual,” for example. But then, he revealed the true intent behind his words by claiming that government-controlled and -provided goods and services were “rights,” as Castro claims, completely contradicting centuries of Western thought on the nature of individual, God-given rights that the government exists to protect.
“President Castro, I think, has pointed out that in his view making sure that everybody is getting a decent education or health care, has basic security and old age, that those things are human rights as well,” Obama said at a press conference with the smiling tyrant. “I personally would not disagree with him.” Leaving aside the fact that Cubans make on average less than $20 per month, goods and services financed with wealth extracted by force from others are known as privileges, not rights. Only in the mind of a communist tyrant or a “useful idiot” can a person have a “right” to another's labor and property.
Obama also legitimized several key lies of the Castro dictatorship, including the notion that the U.S. embargo, rather than communist totalitarianism, was to blame for the shocking poverty that afflicts the Cuban people. “Before 1959, some Americans saw Cuba as something to exploit, ignored poverty, enabled corruption,” Obama continued, sounding like Castro himself. He also claimed Castro was involved in promoting “peace, security, opportunity, and human rights” in the Western hemisphere — a notion so ridiculous that it sounds like Obama must be living on a different planet. It isn't due to ignorance, though, as the U.S. government knows full well what Castro and company have been up to.
“I’ve had frank conversations with President Castro,” Obama added, again legitimizing the tyrant by referring to him as president. “For many years, he has pointed out the flaws in the American system — economic inequality; the death penalty; racial discrimination; wars abroad.” Obama continued blabbering on about real and imagined problems in the United States before touting the positive side: “gay rights” and ObamaCare. Seriously.
Instead of demonizing America and praising Castro's savage system for indoctrinating children, Obama might have apologized to Cubans for the crucial role played by the U.S. establishment — the Council on Foreign Relations, the U.S. State Department, and the New York Times — in selling the Cuban people into slavery. That sellout continues to this day, and the Cuban people are the biggest victims.
Obama claimed to “know the history,” but if that were true, he gave no indication of it in his speech, pretending that the U.S. government had always been hostile to the tyrant. As then-U.S. Ambassador to Cuba Earl Smith explained in his book The Fourth Floor, however, the U.S. State Department provided crucial support to Castro and his band of savage murderers as they lied to the world about their intentions and butchered their way to Havana slaughtering anyone who got in their way, including children.
Of course, some observers knew that Castro and his barbarian followers were communists, including Robert Welch, the founder of The John Birch Society. But the U.S. establishment supporting Castro insisted that he was actually a “freedom fighter.” Similar betrayals by the globalist establishment abound.
Critics were outraged by Obama's visit and the groveling. Frank De Varona, who was born in Cuba and was captured and imprisoned by Castro while fighting to liberate the island from communism, said Obama had now made Cuba a U.S.-backed dictatorship. “This was appeasement of the worse kind for Obama to sit there in front of an international press and to accept this type of public abuse from a dictator who has executed more than 15,000 children, women and men and jailed over 300,000,” wrote De Varona at Bear Witness Central, the news portal of a pro-liberty group consisting largely of people who have experienced the horrors of communism and socialism first-hand. “The coward Obama needed to defend his nation and once again he did not.”
“For those who have been paying attention over the past seven years, it should come as no surprise that Obama envies dictators like the Castro brothers who control the means of production, kill their enemies, and decide how resources should be allocated regardless of the desire of their own people,” said Americans for Limited Government chief Rick Manning in a column blasting Obama's groveling in Havana. “This totalitarian impulse was glimpsed once again when Obama whined about the difficulty of working with Congress to impose his will. So there we have it, once again America finds itself with President Obama limply ceding the moral high ground to some of the world's most ruthless dictators.”
Senator Marco Rubio, the Cuban-descent chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, was also fuming. “On Sunday, President Obama will touch down in Cuba for what promises to be one of the most disgraceful trips ever taken by a U.S. president anywhere in the world,” he said. “This is an Obama presidential trip whose ultimate results will be giving away legitimacy and money to an anti-American regime that actively undermines our national security interests and acts against our values every single day.”
“President Obama’s entourage will sleep in hotels controlled by the Cuban military that were confiscated by the regime and are among the $7 billion in unpaid legal claims owed to American property owners,” continued Rubio, noting that Obama was conspicuously avoiding a visit to the church where the Ladies In White have shed blood for demanding their loved ones’ freedom. “As a whole, President Obama’s trip to Cuba and his policy of one-sided concessions to this regime are as naïve as his world view and as misguided as his foreign policy affecting other parts of the world.” Of course, naivety was unlikely to blame.
Cuban dissidents Ailer González and Claudio Fuentes of the Forum for Rights and Freedom also slammed the visit. According to the U.K. Guardian, after years of struggling against the Castro regime's oppression, the two felt that the “leader of the free world” had let them down by befriending their oppressor. They had been beaten by Castro's goons the day before for trying to get on the Internet at a hotel. And the beatings, torture, and oppression will undoubtedly continue.
Countless supporters of freedom in Cuba, the United States, and around the world were outraged that Obama was legitimizing and even rewarding tyranny and mass murder — and he was. In fact, he may have been saving it in Cuba. As Castro's allies and financiers in Latin America crumble amid growing public uprisings, Obama threw the Cuban tyrant an urgently needed lifeline. Many Americans and members of Congress from both parties have already spoken out about Obama's shameful behavior. President Obama has stoked controversy after he suggested to an audience of Argentinian youth that there was no great difference between communism and capitalism and that they should just “choose from what works”.
Obama responded to a question about nonprofit community organizations and the necessity of attracting funding from both the public and private sectors.
“So often in the past there has been a division between left and right, between capitalists and communists or socialists, and especially in the Americas, that’s been a big debate,” Obama said.
“Those are interesting intellectual arguments, but I think for your generation, you should be practical and just choose from what works. You don’t have to worry about whether it really fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory. You should just decide what works,” he added.
Obama went on to praise Cuba’s socialist system under dictator Raúl Castro, touting the country’s free access to basic education and health care, although he acknowledged that Havana itself “looks like it did in the 1950s” because the economy is “not working”.
Obama concluded his comments by arguing that a market-based system “has to have a social and moral and ethical and community basis”.
Reaction to the remarks wasn’t pretty.
“This man is so destructive, so harmful and so ignorant,” wrote Jim Hoft.
“The Marxist in the White House is erasing the lines between two dangerous ideologies and the one that made the US great, just as he erased our borders. This is a man who would be at home in communist China,” chided the Independent Sentinel.

Johnny Hunt, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia, and former president of the SBC, says, “The Young Messiah is incredibly entertaining but just as much, it is spiritually inspiring and stimulating as we contemplate what the early years of Jesus’ life entailed. You MUST see it.” Jay Dennis, pastor of Church at the Mall, a Southern Baptist congregation in Lakeland, Florida, says, “I want every pastor, priest, Christian leader, follower of Jesus and even those who are not believers to see The Young Messiah. You will be taken into an atmosphere where you are captivated at how Jesus must have dealt with being fully human and fully God.” The movie is loosely based on the novel Christ The Lord: Out of Egypt by Anne Rice, who writes erotic/occultic fiction. In 1998 she turned from atheism to Roman Catholicism, but in 2010, she quit “being Christian” because she refuses to be “anti-gay, anti-feminist, anti-secular humanism, and anti-science.” The Young Messiah follows the mythical journey from Alexandria, Egypt, to Jerusalem of a seven-year-old, long-haired “Jesus” and his parents. The child Jesus performs miracles, including raising the dead, but he doesn’t know that he is the Son of God. This is clearly a false christ, which the Bible so forcefully warns about (e.g., Mat. 24:4-5; 2 Cor. 11:4). The true Christ knew who He was, did not have to be helped by His parents, and He did no miracles until the wedding at Cana at the beginning of His ministry at age 30. “But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts” (Psalm 22:9).
