"NOAH" & "SON OF GOD" MOVIES ARE LYING PERVERSIONS OF GOD'S WORD

We Thought You Should Know.
The Son of God and Noah movies are
lying perversions of the word of God.

“Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” Proverbs 30:6
Tonight, there are two films playing in this theater which both grossly pervert the Bible, the word of God. Some of us from Pilgrims Covenant Church are here tonight to warn you that the Noah movie and the Son of God movie are filled with inaccuracies; misrepresentations; and irreverent, blasphemous scenes and statements. It would take pages to document the truth of what I have just stated concerning these two movies. In this short space, I can only scratch the surface.
The Noah Movie, a Wicked Distortion
“. . . Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. . . . Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.” (from Genesis 6:8-9) “And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly . . .” (2 Peter 2:5)
In the Noah movie, the historical facts recorded and preserved by the Spirit of God in the Scriptures are distorted in a wicked and vile way. God’s character, words, and actions, as well as His purpose for the Flood, are blasphemously slandered and misrepresented. The character of Noah is likewise nothing like the true Noah, who was a godly, good, and righteous man, not the dark, murderous Noah of the movie who even attempts to kill members in his own family and enlists demons to help him build the ark! The lies presented as truth in the movie Noah are numerous and outrageous, not to mention wicked and completely against the truth of the word of God. To name just one more of many such lies, this movie portrays Methuselah, Noah’s grandfather, as a witch doctor who in the movie provides spiritual guidance for Noah! No wonder the foul-mouthed, anything-but-Christian director of Noah, Darren Aronofsky, told Movie News that “Noah is the least biblical biblical film ever made.” To learn the truth about Noah, the Flood, and God’s righteous reason for it, at least read Genesis chapter 6.
The Son of God Movie, a Blasphemous Mocking of the Word of God
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:13
The Son of God movie is likewise a conglomeration of lies and distortions from beginning to end. Before I provide just a few of many facts to substantiate that assessment, I need to stress that this movie is unbiblical and even idolatrous for visually portraying the Son of God, Christ Jesus, who is both God and man, one person with two natures inseparably joined, though not co-mingled, acting in unison. Christ Jesus is God “manifest in the flesh” (1 Timothy 3:16) who came to this earth for a reason not at all clearly shown in the film: that is to act in the place of helpless, condemned sinners; obeying perfectly the law of God in their stead; taking their sins upon Himself on the cross and offering up His life of infinite worth to save from eternal wrath and condemnation in hell those who will repent and believe on Him as Savior, on His person, His blood, and His righteousness. Please read the booklet From Death unto Life for a thorough explanation of the way of salvation through faith in Christ. My purpose here is to briefly warn you about the Son of God movie. As I mentioned, this movie is idolatrous because it visually depicts the Son of God. See, for instance, Exodus 20:4-5 and Deuteronomy 4:15-18.
The Son of God movie misrepresents the purpose, twists the words, and slanders the character of Christ Jesus, which is blasphemy. This movie is filled with error from start to finish. Please bear with me as I mention just a few of such grievous errors. In the opening scene of the Son of God movie, “Jesus” wades out to a boat; and Peter pulls him in, at which point Jesus then says to Peter, “Just give me an hour and I will give you a whole new life,” to which Peter replies, “Who says I want one?” Then Jesus says, “I’m giving you the chance to change your life.” “What are we going to do?” asks Peter. To which Jesus answers, “Change the world.” This is all a figment of the movie producer’s imagination. In the biblical account of Jesus calling Peter and his brother Andrew as disciples, Jesus is walking by the sea and tells the two, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him” (Matthew 4:19-20). Jesus spoke figuratively in the incident, indicating He would make Peter and Andrew spiritual “fishers of men”:  that is by their preaching of the gospel.
The calling of Mathew by Jesus as His disciple is in this movie likewise a perversion, a literal mangling of the word of God. Read the truth in Matthew 9:9-13. The portrayal of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead in Son of God is an outrageous lie from start to finish. In the movie, the Jesus character goes into the tomb and raises Lazarus by kissing him on the head, whereupon Lazarus blinks a few times and hugs his sister Martha. After that, the three of them walk out of the tomb to a cheering crowd. This is one blatant lie from start to finish. Read the true story in John 11:1-45.

The Son of God account of the Last Supper of Jesus with His disciples, in the night He was betrayed and before the day He was crucified, is a blasphemous, misleading fabrication. In the movie, during the Passover supper and inauguration of the Lord’s Supper with His disciples, a carefree Jesus suddenly has a vision of Judas betraying Him, after which He talks Judas into doing so. This is all breathtakingly false. By the way, at that supper in the movie, it is Peter who breaks the bread and declares, “This is my body which is broken for you.” But, the word of God plainly records that it was Jesus who did and said this (Matthew 26:20-30). And while Peter is busily saying and doing in the movie what in reality Jesus did and said, the movie Jesus stands behind Peter and says, as the true Jesus did, “I am the way, the truth, and the life”; but the movie Jesus leaves out this crucial gospel truth: “No man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

These are just a few of many outrageous lies presented in the idolatrous, blasphemous movie Son of God. To even briefly mention all of the ungodly, grievous misrepresentations and outright lies contained in the Son of God movie would take pages to document. The account of the woman caught in adultery, the feeding of the 5,000, the crucifixion of Jesus, and quite frankly, virtually every scene of Son of God contains horrible and misleading errors—bluntly put, lies. This movie is one long, blasphemous mocking of the word of God, the Bible, and the true Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Such a movie may result in financial profit for those who produce it; but Matthew 16:26 warns, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” and Galatians 6:7, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
