Assemblywoman Gonzalez Fletcher Calls on Congress to Pass a Clean Dream Act

Published on Jan 11, 2018
(Sacramento) – At a press conference urging Congress to extend the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D – San Diego), Vice Chair of the California Latino Caucus, decried the recent Border Patrol arrests of two UC students. “This is ridiculous. These are the kids who are affected by us not extending the Dream Act,” Gonzalez Fletcher said. “If we believe in America, we believe in those American students who are here. Who we invested in, who did the right thing, who have abided by every law. That’s what we need to do.” Watch the San Diego Assemblywoman’s full remarks in this Assembly Access video. http://www.asmdc.org/gonzalez-fletcher
